[GUIDE] How to install official Global Rom V9.6.8.0.OEDMIFD on Antirollback device - Xiaomi Mi Max 3 Guides, News, & Discussion

NOTES:
- This will fix the modem on the global rom, you will be able to call and use the internet.
- I know MIUI 10.0.1.0.OEDMIFH has been released. If you have no problem with MIUI 10 AND with Antirollback, just use the fastboot version and flash that.
- If you want MIUI 10.0.1.0.OEDMIFH firmwareless go to @yshalsager thread and flash that instead of my MIUI 9 fw-less rom (installation process is the same)
- This thread is useful for people who want Global Stable MIUI 9 on Mi Max 3 with a working modem.
- If you installed MIUI 9.6.6.0.OEDMIFD fw-less from here before, just download the MIUI 9.6.8.0.OEDMIFD / 10.0.1.0.OEDMIFH FW-LESS and flash that above your rom using TWRP.
- if you install this rom on a non-Antirollback device, make sure not to update to MIUI 10 from updater or you will get Antirollback.
- if you have antirollback and you want this rom, follow the guide below and dont update to MIUI 10 if you prefer MIUI 9.
- V9.6.8.0.OEDMIFD has Antirollback, So people who want to have less problems with their rom, you can flash the full rom with the firmware-update folder instead of the fw-less one as you already have
antirollback, and you will get the correct firmware for your phone
- Read more about Antirollback here: here
Installation guide:
NOTE: By flashing this you agree that Im not responsible for any bricking situation that might happen because of this process!
YOU MUST HAVE UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER
1. Go to twrp on your device and wipe everything! (system, vendor, internal .....)
2. Change your data partition to F2FS
3. Reboot to twrp and format userdata
4. Flash China Stable 9.6.12.0 via Fastboot (or 9.6.11.0 if you dont have Antirollback because 9.6.12.0 has antirollback)
5. Flash twrp and reboot to it
6. in TWRP wipe everything (system,vendor,internal .....)
7. Change your data partition to F2FS
8. Reboot to twrp and format userdata
9. Change the data partition back to EXT4
10. Reboot one last time to TWRP and copy the fw-less rom to your internal storage
11. flash the fw-less rom / (full rom 9.6.8.0 if you already have antirollback and you want MIUI 9)
12. wipe cache/ dalvik
13. mount cust partition in twrp, go to the file explorer and go to the cust folder from the root of the device
15. delete everything in that folder
17. delete the rom from your internal storage using MTP
16. boot to fastboot mode and flash the cust.img using "fastboot flash cust cust.img"
17. delete all the files on your internal storage using MTP

same as the antirollback device.
Flashing the normal rom will cause problems and might not work without the cust fix.
If you dont flash the fw-less rom, the rom will update the firmware (firmware-update folder) to its own version which will brick your modem again.

Ok, so I followed this exactly with the exception of the step 17, There were no files on on internal storage showing up in MTP at all?
Also on step 4 I flashed the China rom successfully but when finished I did not restart the phone and let it boot up and go thru the initial setup of the rom, I just flashed the China rom and proceeded to the next step.
But it certainly gives me the 9.6.6.0 global rom, however the radio is now broken again, I cant get out to the internet. This really makes no sense? On the China rom the radio certainly works fine.
Any ideas? What a frustrating phone this has been, I'm sort of mad at the vendors putting these fake roms on here with non working modems....
There's go to be a way to flash just the modem firmware from the China rom?

I have none of the stated issues.
Follow the guide again from step 1 and this time setup the phone on 9.6.11.0 (dont let it update to 9.6.12.0)
Make sure that on fastboot you choose clean all and not save my data

Ok so once 9.6.11.0 flashes, let the phone boot up and go through all the initial setup, then reboot in TWRP and continue. I will do that...
Yes, on fast boot I am choosing "Clean All"
How about step 17? I don't seem to see what i'm supposed to be doing there?

after you flash the rom, you need to mount the cust partition.
after that you need to use the file manager in twrp to delete everything in the cust partition and then copy all the files from the cust fix zip to the cust folder on your phone using the twrp file explorer. on 17 I meant that you delete the files on your Internal storage that you used to copy to the cust folder so you wont have any files left before running the system for the first time

I certainly mounted the Cust partition and copy everything copied over, I actually copied the Cust Fix files from an sd card to internal so there was nothing to clean up in my case.
Ok, I am crossing my fingers here
---------- Post added at 11:11 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:41 AM ----------
So while I was restoring my data from google I was certainly getting text messages. A phone call worked too. However after all my data finished restoring from my google account and I rebooted I now have no cell signal again.
I couldn't imagine something that gets restored would mess up the cellular connection, but I am going to have to wipe and start over and not restore anything from my account to see if that helps at all...
Ugh....

Negative... Still no service....
Maybe I just have a flaky phone? Tho i do have service fine with the China rom.
I guess i'll just have to wait until there is a flashable global rom complete with modem and stuff.

Thank for the big effort. I made it following this guide.
But I think this is MIUI 9 but I like MIUI 10 much more.
So I revert back to EU 8.9.6 and I satisfy with this.

Official global rom version is 9.6.7.0
I got an information from Korean xiaomi community that the official global rom version is 9.6.7.0 but not 9.6.6.0.
He bought it from the aliexpress and seller shipped it with sealed package. And it put "Global Versiso" sticker on the box.
Here I attach the ROM version image.
We better wait until official site put mi max 3 global rom there.

Thats a real global rom.
Its not uploaded to xiaomi's database yet so its unavailable for download
just like 9.6.8.0 which is also real but not released yet.

I don't understand why Xiaomi doesn't support OTA on the mi max3 with former glabal rom. Really shame.

So let's say i managed to flash on my non anti-rolled back mi max 3 with your steps, in future updates can i just update normally OTA?

[Guide] Redmi Note 3 Special Edition (Kate) - how to easily flash Cyanogenmod 13

[For Redmi Note 3 Special Edition (Snapdragon CPU) only]
I've put this noob-friendly guide together to help anyone who wants to use Cyanogenmod 13 (Android 6.0) on their Redmi Note 3 Special Edition.
This can now be done without unlocking the bootloader which avoids a whole world of hassle. It involves flashing an official MIUI developer ROM which has had the stock recovery replaced by a custom recovery (Alka TWRP). You can then use the custom recovery to wipe MIUI and flash Cyanogenmod (or any other ROM you want to try). I have done this to my own phone and encountered no problems but I accept no responsibility in the unlikely event of your bricking your phone! The MIUI developer ROM in the link is one in which I have already replaced the stock recovery with Alka TWRP and uploaded to Mediafire. If you prefer to download the developer ROM from the official website and replace the stock recovery yourself that's fine. The Cyanogenmod ROM is actually for Kenzo so you will need to flash a firmware zip file to make it all work.
1. Download & install this version of Miflash.
2. Download the modded developer firmware containing the custom recovery and unzip it. Also download files to make the fingerprint reader etc work and the radio firmware here and Cyanogenmod 13 (use the snapshot dated 2016-08-20 04:06:46) and Open Gapps ARM64 6.0 nano but do not unzip them. Copy the last 3 zipped files to an external SD card and insert it in the phone. If your SD card is 32GB or bigger it will need to be formatted as FAT32 before Alka TWRP will recognise it. I found this utility to be very good at doing this but be very careful that you select the correct drive letter when using it.
3. Start your phone up and enable USB debugging.
4. Download and install minimal adb & fastboot.
5. Start up your phone (with the external SD card inserted) and connect it by USB to your PC. Run minimal adb on your PC, type adb devices and Enter, look for a popup box on your phone asking for permissions & accept it.
6. Type adb reboot edl and Enter, the phone will boot into edl mode with a blank screen.
7. Start up Miflash and point it to the unzipped modded firmware folder then flash it - takes around 400 sec.
8. Disconnect the phone, press Power and Vol Up to boot into TWRP recovery. When you boot into TWRP for the first time you will see that it's all in Chinese. Just tap on the second bottom button on the right then tap on the globe icon and select English as the language. Then you need to tap on the oblong button on the bottom right of the screen to save it. If at any time TWRP asks you to allow it to stop itself being replaced by stock recovery just agree to it.
9. *IMPORTANT* back up ALL partitions to the external SD card using TWRP. Later on, copy this backup to your PC and keep it safe. It's your insurance policy against any disasters such as losing your IMEI. Then boot into MIUI and wait for it to load (might take a while).
10. Once MIUI has loaded, shut down the phone then press Power and Vol Up to boot into TWRP recovery. Do a full wipe and then flash the CM13 ROM then the firmware + radio update then Gapps. Then boot into your new firmware!
11. Make sure you disable LiveDisplay in Settings or you will get screen flickering issues.
Maaan thanks for the guide, I followed this procedure last Sunday tho... I didn't know about backing up partitions so I didn't do it! What should I do NOW?
Too late to back up the MIUI partitions but not too late to back up all the Cyanogenmod partitions!
I backed up the partitions from TWRP on CM13... Is my IMEI and all that risky stuff OK?

You should be OK as long as you've backed up your EFS partition

Just the latest stable CM13 for Kenzo. I've seen a few such tutorials for Kenzo ROM to Kate but none mentioned root so didn't know whether there was a reason such as it not working etc.
Thanks again.

CM13 is already rooted but you need to activate it http://www.cyanogenmods.org/forums/topic/enable-root-access-cm13cyanogenmod-13-roms/
About step 10. I've got CM13 firmware, Radio and Gapps (3 files from point 2). There is 4 mentioned on step 10.
I've flashed 3 files, phone booted and it looks like mix of miui and cm13. The battery and signal indicator are miui like, but the welcome screen is clean android like. Now the problem - pressing yellow arrow makes "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped" (popup is in miui style) and I can not do anything
Also power off menu is in miui style. I had to do something wrong...
I guess that I need to flash CM13 first, which is not downloadable from this guide

Step 10 says do a full wipe as well. It doesn't sound like you did that or else you wouldn't be able to boot at all if you didn't flash the cm13 rom. But yes,
Full wipe (do not wipe external SD or phone storage)
Flash cm13 rom
Flash cm13 firmware, radio and then gapps.

Actually it's maybe for Kenzo, so you should definitely delete it.

Also, the kenzo is 150 mm, the Kate 152mm, and the latter have a CE1317 mention on the box and a sticker on the phone.
So, finally I've been able to make mine run. Uploaded 4 files, CM13 last Snapshot and 3 from the guide - all working fine. Had problem, as CM13 itself is not mentioned in the guide. Cheers OP.
BTW, I've got Kate version.

My understanding was that the first firmware file was needed to make the fingerprint reader work, the second one contained only the radio. However, looking at the unzipped contents it appears you could be right.

Android N Permanent VoLTE Fix. 10000% Working Solution.

Hello,
Just Wanted To Give A Straight Forward Solution For VoLTE Fix In Android N ROMs.
So, Here U Go.
1. Download This ROM (http://bigota.d.miui.com/6.11.3/miui_HMNote3ProGlobal_6.11.3_233ef61784_6.0.zip)
2. Download This TWRP (https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6qi9i0uOR-BYnpaendYQ1BBRFE)
3. Download This Firmware (https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=385035244224398629)
4. Download This ROM (https://sourceforge.net/projects/re...onRemix-N-v5.8.0-20161126-kenzo.zip/download)
5. Download This ROM Too (https://sourceforge.net/projects/re...N-v5.8.0-20170114-kenzo-Nightly.zip/download)
1. Now, Unlock Your Bootloader, Officially Or Unofficially, I Don't Give A **** For That.
2. Flash TWRP (Step 2) Using Fastboot Or Using Existing TWRP.
3. Wipe Everything Except Ur Internal And External Storage And Flash MiUI 6.11.3 (Step 1) Using Just Flashed TWRP And After Flashing It Go To Install Again And See In Root Directory, There Will Be A Folder Named "Flash_Folder" Go Inside It And Flash Lazy Flasher. Don't Bother For Bootloader Locking, This TWRP Will Knock It Off.
4. Now Start The Device, And When On Setup Screen, See There Will Be VoLTE (That's Normal For MIUI) Be There For 5 Minutes (Complete Setup Or Not, I Don't Give A **** For That Too).
5. Now Switch Off Your Phone, Wipe System, Data, Cache, Dalvik And Flash The Firmware (Step 3).
6. Just After Flashing Firmware, Flash The ROM (Step 4), Its RR 26/11 Version Remember.
7. Start The Device, Voila You Got VoLTE.
8. Now Get Back To TWRP And Dirty Flash Latest RR (Until Now Latest RR Link Is Given On Step 5) Without Wiping Anything.
9. Flash Pico GApps 7.1 arm64 (Cmon U Know Link Of This).
10. Enjoy.
NOTE : You Can Now Wipe Everything And Flash Any Nougat ROM.

Hi OP & alls. Can i use this for Kate?

IMEI showing up as zero, no sim cards work.

Hi, I'm receiving OTA updates, official software, oem locked. I had previously installed a lot of roms on this phone, rooted, etc, and once I flashed stock rom with moto g5 plus toolkit it killed my phone, or did it. It's pretty complex.
So right along the time this happened, I gave my imei to a verizon rep, he verified my phone was compatbile with verizon network, sent a verizon prepaid sim out (i'm switching to 40 plan from redpocket to verizon prepaid) the sim is still in the mail. Along this time I also was on lineage os from vache, 8.1 But I didn't like it so I reflashed stock rom with moto g5 plus toolkit, (google it)
So. it was PRECISELY after I re-flashed stock rom that no sim card worked. I immediately assumed it was verizon's fault, they must have locked my phone to their network, right? But then I dialed *#06# on my dialer and my IMEI showed up as ZERO. I talked in android discord, and was told I must have deleted EFS whatever that is.
So, I'm stuck. I have an imei that's zero, no sim card will work on this phone, i'm oem locked and receiving ota updates and official software status via fastboot. android security patch november 1, 2017 and build number = npn25.137-92
I did call Verizon to make sure they weren't causing the issue, but the rep was confused. My phone was showing up as an x1 or something on his screen, but he said I "can't use any other carriers/sims" until i "activate the verizon sim they shipped me" but then this information was falsified by the verizon folks at reddit, who said the rep didn't know what he was talking about.
So I'm thinking this issue is being caused by the stock rom I flashed, NOT verizon. Let me know, I was previously on Redpocket.
Either way, no sim will work right now, I called motorola support, they said they can only send me a new phone for $150, as flashing rom voids warranty, so my phone is essentially a wifi only device without cellular capabilities.
I am stumped as what to do. this is US NA moto g5 plus, again, official software status, oem locked. If someone could help me get my celullar back and identify WHAT CAUSED THIS, I would be eternally grateful. Again, I didn't do anything but erase everything in TWRP (data, cache, etc) and REFLASH stock rom, downloaded from moto g5 plus toolkit link. So HOW could I have deleted my EFS folder? It just doesn't make sense. So I'm debating after all, maybe it is Verizon messing up my phone?

So I'm debating after all, maybe it is Verizon messing up my phone?

bro never use toolkit again to flash stock use fastboot instead there is no problem with your device now what you will do is unlock your bootloader with the code u received from moto and after that wipe everything in twrp check if in bootloader your baseband is showing some version then if it shows no problem now flash any 64bit oreo custom rom nos, validus,pe ur wish then reboot to bootloader now type the commands fastboot erase modemst1 ,fastboot erase modemst2 then boot into custom rom you installed now you will have signal, then again boot into twrp recovery and backup efs and store it on pc or cloud ur choice, now you can use any custom rom with signal without any hassle and if you want to move to stock while flashing stock rom skip fastboot erase modemst1 ,fastboot erase modemst2 commands you boot into rom it should have signal if you dont get signal flash twrp then restore your oreo efs backup you will surely get back your signal but no volte sadly for now.
after stock oreo release flash it may be everything will be normal again.
i wish you good luck.

bro just flash that rom then boot into bootloader then type these 2 fastboot commands and enter after every command
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
then boot into custom oreo you will have your imei back now you will have imei with any custom rom but if you want to go to stock then backup your efs from twrp menu and store the files inside your backup folder on potter that shows up in your computer when connected to pc it will have a folder with z******** some serial no and in it you will have 4 files but save only 3 files leave recovery log file and save them to pc and now you can fastboot flash stock rom now what the problem here is it cant detect imei on nougat stock so after flashing fastboot rom you flash twrp recovery and then backup efs then it will create a folder efs backup on you potter then move the previous 3 efs backup files to the backup directory where there will be 4 files same as before and now restoree that backup and you can boot into stock rom it will have imei.
I figured it out thanks.

bro first wipe everything off your potter if you dont have any important data on it i mean clean flash take out your sd card and now select advanced wipe>select all options>wipe one by one
format potter using format option now copy validus zip to your potter internal storage it will show up when connected to pc then select installl in twrp then swipe to flash it should flash well then wipe dalvik cache then boot to bpootloader try those 2 commands then you boot to rom it will have signal bro. try it
Bro I did exactly what you said, copied Validus zip to internal, removed sd card and erased everything in twrp. It's still giving me error code 255 when I try to flash the Validus zip.

recovery the bricked phone, but how can I upgrade to android 9?

just use MsmDownloadTool V4.0.exe to recovery my op5 to oos, but the version is quite low as Android 7.1.1.
checked the system update, it told me up to date. which is of course not true.
tried to clean the cache of google framework service and oneplus framework service, still nothing in updating.
tried installed oxygen updater, and download 3 update zip from 7.1.4, 8, last version of 8, but each time I use local install in system uploading, then reboot to recovery, it shows me "failed". none of version works.
I even tried to install in recovery, wipe cache and data or just wipe data, then install from internal disk, none of the file works, even don't have any popup fail notice, just go back to file chooser interface.
I can still go back to system by switch off and on again.
How can I upgrade the old version of android in my oneplus 5?
original:
used use lineages os with Twrp, and I would like to flash to original oxygen.
download full rom zip in https://www.oneplus.com/uk/support/softwareupgrade/details?code=PM1574156143164
copied to phone disk
went to twrp
wipe Dalvik, System, Data, and Cache
then tried to install the full rom zip, but met "no Digest File found" error
found it must be twrp old, so I download new one in https://dl.twrp.me/cheeseburger_dumpling/twrp-3.4.0-0-cheeseburger_dumpling.img.html
copy to phone and flash it to recovery.
select "reboot to recovery"
then problem coming: I can only see the oneplus logo with powered by Android. it won't go any further.
I am not sure any thing wrong during my processing, but maybe 2 things:
1, I wiped the system
2, I didn't clean the screen lock pin before I flash
so, my question here is, if possible I can flash the original oxygen os in this situation?
if positive, could you please give me a step by step instruction?
by the way, the zip rom I download from oneplus site isn't have the "flash-all" script.
please please help me .

Please help. I bought a phone with Beta installed. I wanted to switch to the original system. So I screwed up something so using the MsmDownloadTool tool I wanted to use it by uploading everything from scratch. I fell into the Chinese H2Os system. I searched again and I already have the original ColorOS based on Android 9. But I can't update it to 10. What do I have to do? Oh .... the bootloader is unlocked ...

if you are directly flash to coloros android 9 from lower version other than android 8, it might be the problem you won't got the update in the system. It might be have issue in wifi or gps as well, which I bet you didn't well test yet.
that's all about the system partitions messed up. regarding my understanding.
solution is simple, but time consuming:
you have to flash an original rom using msmdownloadtool, make sure that rom will have update notification in the system menu of settings. then upgrade from there one level up each time, till to the android 10. (chinese version do have 10 available)
than, you can download oxygen os android 10 to flash on the coloros android 10 (hydrogen os android 10) you just done the upgrade, don't forget wipe data/cache before flashing.
hope that's helps.

Xiaomi Mi 9T Wiped Of All Software And Data Via TWRP But Can't Flash Pixel Experience

I accidentally wiped everything on my device when following a not-so-informative youtube video, it was my own fault for not questioning their steps at all, and I was going to install an update to Pixel Experience as it wasn't letting me do it normally. I have TWRP installed and I can boot into either that or fastboot manually but it won't let me transfer files from my PC onto my Xiaomi Mi 9T via Sideload, Mount, Drag and Drop, MTP is enabled and no other means I can think of work. Everything on my phone is able to be replaced as it was all in the cloud but I need my phone at the moment and from the research I've done I believe this should be a straightforward fix however, since I can't get the software onto my phone I can't boot to it. It also won't let me transfer the firmware required and so I get ERROR: 7 and "This package requires baseband from atleast V12.0.2.0.QFJMIXM. Please upgrade firmware and retry!" My PC recognises the phone is connected and can view the files on it but every time I try to drag anything into it it looks like it's going to work and then it just stops.
If you have any other information you require to assist me I will try to be as helpful as possible however, I am quite new to this so using laymens terms would be preferable.
Did you read the instructions on the pixel experience topic? First you need to flash the firmware package for your device from here: https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/firmware/davinci/
Then flash the rom and format data. This should work.
I installed pixel experience this week and so far it is going well, I had to update from miui 11.0.1.0 android 9 to miui 12.0.3.0 so that ALL the system will be updated to android 10, and then I proceeded to install the pixel experience via twrp. Try to install Miui 11.0.1.0 and configure it, then from the system settings you look for the latest update, make sure the system has been updated to Android 10 before installing pixel experience. Try to use xiaomi flash tool to make a clear install
