Hello peeps. S8+ here with latest EUR update. I keep changing Facebook and Messenger notification and it keeps resetting to the default. The default sound sucks and I never hear it. I change it and the next notif I get is the same default sound. This happens only with Facebook and Messenger. Is there any way to fix it?>

Well me too. But I changed the notifications sound to something else!
Now if the system want to notify me about email not sent or other issues it use the new notification sound otherwise if it wants to notify me about new mail always "piing" (fu...ll)
Changing gmail sound doesn't solve the issue.
Tried to refresh , reset and hard reset...
Ideas?

I use facebook messenger quite a bit, but I noticed that if I have chat heads on , I do not get notifcations on my watch. if I turn it off, I get notices (a super short vibration unfortunately).
anyone have a fix for this? ideas? hack.

It's not only for facebook messenger. All the apps same, if you are on the screen in phone, you can't get notification from watch.
You get notifications that are displayed on the status bar/android notifications.
If your chat heads are open, you don't get a new notification on the status bar, but only counter on the chat head... So no notification on the watch...
Try to see into settings of Facebook messenger, may be you can enable notifications

So far I am loving this and I'm coming from the S7. Rooted and unlocked the bootloader yesterday but for the life of me cannot get notification sounds to work. Nine mail, hangouts, and bluemail do not make a noise. So far only facebook messenger and whatsapp make a noise on incoming messages.

I can't get hangouts to even appear in my notifications unless I open the app, and then I get hit with all the texts I received that it failed to notify me for. Google Opinion Rewards never notifies me either. I did the code *#*# and disabled background clean up, and in notification manager I have hangout enabled for everything, and in battery app, and recents window I disabled clean up, with no luck. Hoping it'll get fixed soon, but in the meantime it's frustrating.

Really? Funny because my S7 hangouts would always say no network and I would have to wait a few minutes for them to refresh. I figured out the sounds. it seems like the default tones didn't exist or something so after manually changing them it's working. I still cannot believe the quality of this phone, even the camera which isn't close to my S7 really is not that bad.
I did go in to the battery section and change skype, hangouts and my work email from closed with the app cleanup the phone has

I am having one weird issue with skype app installed on P9 lite. Whenever there is a new chat, I receive the chat notification banner both on lock screen and notification panel but there is no ringtone and vibration. I have tried many things like, uninstalling-reinstalling, clearing app data, settings change but nothing works.
The strange thing is that when I receive a call on skype, the vibration and ringtone works fine. The problem is only with the chat notification ringtone. All the other apps are producing the ringtones perfectly fine.
Does anyone else had the similar issue?
I chanted my default message tone to the galaxy s9 sound and now all my apps use that sound, such as snapchat or Facebook messenger which usually has their own sounds. I tried changing it in the app manager but it doesnt list the stock sound
You probably need to reinstall the apps and then change all from each app's notifications. I had the same with FB for instance...had to change the whole list of FB notifs sounds (which is looong)... I am just saying
