Screenshot Android Pie - Essential Phone Questions & Answers

Hi,
When taking a screenshot, if you try to edit the image, it defaults to photos app, unlike Pixel which has some mark up tools. Is it a Pixel exclusive, or Essential did not implement it?
Thanks

[HELP] Front camera photo weird text problem

I took some photos with the front camera using the front camera from SnapIt app in the stock vibe UI 3.0. While clicking the photo, there was some text in Chinese that appeared on the screen. I thought it was the name of some shooting mode sort of thing and that it'll not appear in the final photograph. To my dismay, though, after I had clicked the photographs, I saw that all of them have that weird text written over them. In a few photos that text is even covering up faces. I need to know if there is a way to remove this text from these photos and restore the faces. Using photo editors, I have only been able to get as far as cropping the text or if some of the photos. Nothing more. Please help me immediately.
Thanks.
Sharing a couple of sample photos would help identifying the exact problem.
And you might want to post this to the Q/A & Help section of Lenovo K3 Note's forum.

Screen captures look blueish.

I have the problem, that my recorded movies (from lineage recorder app) look blueish. This also affects captured screenshots, which are delivered by the screen capturing service for android apps.
When I take a screenshot with volume down + power, the screenshot has the correct colours. They only look blueish, if an app takes the screenshot using the android screen capturing service.
I have a OnePlus 5 128GB with LineageOS 14.1.
I attached two sample screenshots: (a) volume down + power screenshot, (b) screenshot taken by an android app.
(a) looks normal, (b) looks blueish (you see it in the white textbox)
There seems to be any kind of overlay, but I cannot find any overlay in my settings. Livedisplay is disabled.
No ideas?
How could this "overlay" could be caused?? I am very confused.

Focus dots when using gcam mods

When enabling camera2api and using a gcam mod the images unfortunately show focus dots. See those two sample pictures which show the artifacts in the yellow petals and the blue sky:

Interestingly the Note 5 doesn't show this (courtesy of @Sigray from https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77452484&postcount=132)

According to Arnova8G2, the main dev behind the GCam mods, this is due to the wrong raw image mode used for dual cameras:

So let's ask Xiaomi to change this. Use the feedback app or contact your support here. Best do both

I think if the top gears (Mi8, Poco-loco) has the bugs too the Xiaomi will fix this problem, if not everything stays the same in the middle class.
Please press "confirm" in my official bug report:

overview text selection for oneplus 6t

My friend has a pixel 3 and i noticed one major feature that i couldnt find on any other device or rom, the overview or recents text selection. I was wondering if anyone knew of a mod or app that would enable that feature, or a rom that has it.

Can you explain a bit more?
I have a clipboard application that retains previously captured text for an indefinite amount of time and allows you to go back, review and edit the old text.
@tech_head I did a bit more searching and essentially i want this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5-plus/help/smart-selection-recent-pie-roms-t3863382 in a mod format.

Number of allowed notification icons

I'm running LineageOS 17.1 in case that matters, but is there any way to increase the number of notification icons displayed left of the camera cutout? It only allows 4 and then displays a dot, but there's plenty of room for a couple more icons. Any way to tweak this? I'm rooted with magisk if that helps.
Try getting the apk of the camera and modding it's code. There must be a script somewhere which gives the instruction to change from 4 to ball...
