Flashing SM-G935U ATT Firmware onto AT&T S7 Edge with Oreo - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answers

Hi,
I am trying to flash my SM-G935A AT&T S7 Edge (not carrier unlocked) with the new SM-G935U firmware (G935UUES4CRG3/G935UOYM4CRG3/G935UUES4CRG3/G935UUES4CRG3) that I dowloaded for my US AT&T S7 Edge. I upgraded my S7 Edge to the latest Oreo firmware via OTA around a month ago.
I used SamFirm to download the image to flash. Anyhow, even though I put every file into its respective category on Odin 3.13.1, I get an "SHA256" mismatch error. I've seen some instruction that say to only add the AP file onto Odin and others say to use the prince cosmey version of Odin. What could be the problem? Does the phone need to be carrier unlocked? Is my firmware too new or of the same version? Do I need to use the prince cosmey version? Is it not possible to flash the g935u firmware onto a g935a phone? Should I use another download source? Should I use the slightly older G2 firmware? Anything else I should consider?
Also, I noticed that I could not download firmware for the SM-G935A using the ATT code with SamFirm? Any reason as to why?
I realize that there are many other threads that touch upon this problem but they are either with a different edition of the phone, firmware version or some other variant. I'm posting a new thread because I want to be as thorough as possible and make sure not to brick my phone by receiving safe advice before moving forward. Thank you for your time!
Below are the SamFirm download details:
SamFirm v0.3.6.0

Correct Thread?
Did I post in the wrong thread or something? Is that why there is no response? Would someone be kind enought to point me in the right direction if this isn't the right section for such a question?
Thank You

Hi did you find any answers to this issue? i got stuck on same point as you...

Stock Odin checks the version on the device and fails because the U version doesn't match the A version you are "upgrading". There are patched versions of Odin that skip this check, and that is what you need to do a cross-carrier upload.

Use a patched odin to flash the firmware, it will go through.

S7 Edge Firmware Update (G935FD w/ XSG CSC)

Dear all,
Yesterday, I purchased my first ever android phone (coming from iphone 6s) and this phone is such a beauty. Anyway, I rooted it using cfc autoroot and have a question regarding firmware updates: I used SamFirm software and input SM-G935F (F and FD same versions? can't find FD firmwares) and XSG got this:

Is this the right file to use for updating my phone? I guess I am using Flashfire for updating without losing root? I want to keep the CSC and any other relevant config the same because I will be using this phone in the middle east.
I would appreciate you guys input on whether I should go ahead and also a good tutorial for updating without losing root.
Thank you!

Hey there! G935F is single sim version while G935FD is dual sim version. Seems you have got a single sim. F versions will work for you.
Regarding root. When you flash a new firmware file then you will lose root but that's okay you can again root it again. Just like u did first time.
I would suggest you to go with Odin to flash a file.
you can find the tutorial here:

Thank you for the quick reply @iamansar, I in fact have the Duo version. Will the file suggested by SamFirm work for my phone? (not mess up the dual sim, keep CSC as XSG?). Also regarding updating without losing root, I believe you are suggesting to flash FW using odin then redo the TWRP and Su steps?
Thank you!

I apologise, I didn't see that you mentioned that yours is G935FD w/ XSG.
It seems you can flash G935F file to FD phone and the firmware will recognise it as dual sim and you will get those features.
About root, well I must say I haven't tried rooting my S7 Edge yet at least till its covered under warranty. One thing for sure if while flashing stock firmware, you lose root privileges and you will have to root again.
You can use this latest firmware.

Have you tried connecting your phone with smart switch in you PC/Laptop with Windows/Mac? As you don't plan on flashing some other country firmware, I would suggest you can go ahead update you phone from there. This what I did today, Mine is XSG as well.

Thank you for the link. I have not tried doing so since my phone is currently rooted and I am afraid trying to update it officaly might mess up my phone. Also, if I flash the file you linked me using Odin, will I lose the TWRP?

Yes! you will. So, Instead of using Odin , It'll be better to flash the firmware using FlashFire as suggested in this tutorial, if you don't want to lose TWRP.

SHA256 Invalid error when flashing unlocked firmware to unlocked S8

Hello,
I flashed my factory unlocked Samsung Galaxy S8 with the Verizon carrier firmware awhile back in order to gain some carrier features. Since then I have gotten a new device and want to flash my S8 back to the unlocked firmware. Flashing to the Verizon firmware was uneventful, but trying to flash it back to the factory unlocked XAA U1 firmware always results in a SHA256 Invalid error right after I click Start in Odin. I've tried the Prince Comsy version as suggested on a few threads, but it just gives a failed to write error. I have also tried another firmware version download (from Updato), different versions of Odin, and different PCs.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Anyone?
Still haven’t been able to find a fix for this. Tried with a patched version of Odin to bypass the SHA256 check, but it’s giving me a different error. I’ve attached photos of the exact error messages below. Surely someone here knows something about this?
download latest firmware
its maybe because you are flashing old file with v1 bootloader

Well, you were pretty close. For anyone who is interested, the issue I’ve discovered is that the current Verizon firmware has bootloader v4 on it, and the latest U1 firmware only goes up to bootloader v3. Looks like I’ll just have to wait it out.

Yes, I was getting that error because the unlocked firmware I was trying to flash had an older boot loader than the Verizon firmware that was on the phone. Had to wait until an updated version of the unlocked firmware was uploaded.

I don’t quite remember, I sold that phone soon afterwards. It has something to do with the name of the firmware, I’m sure Google could help you there.

Fused 6 Binary 4 935U... Need unbranded Firmware

Hi
I have been trying to flash the 8.0 935U Firmware to the 935P but I keep getting Fused 6 Binary 4.
I can see now from reading threads that's its not possible to flash this Firmware.
So my question is, is there any unbranded firmware I can flash to this phone in this state. Even 7.0 or custom.
Thanks

You updated the stock Sprint firmware to a newer version. It won't work.
I haven't tried this, but it was posted in the S7 flat forum.

There is a YouTube video and a link to a written directions. The files are hosted on Android file host, so it seems legit. I think @jrkruse did something similar, but I couldn't find the thread to check.

Would anyone be good enough to share a link to S7 Edge Verizon current?

Flashed to G935U, but now need to flash back to original branded Verizon so I can sell the phone.
Looking for G935V to flash with Odin.
Thanks

Need to post your firmware version so we can match your binary. It will be listed in your recovery.
