Root SM-G903W Android 7.0 - Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo Questions & Answers

Good evening,
I've read threads for how to root on 6.0 but has anyone successfully rooted the SM-G903W running 7.0? Or do I need to roolback in order to root.
I saw that oneclickroot can do it but for a fee of 39.99.
Any advise would help.
Thanks.

Have you tried this method? I'm not confident with the terminologies and I am not sure what options to choose. I am running on stock 7.0 N, G903W. Is this safe?

Hi,
I recently bought a the sm-g903w. The rooting process didn't work after flashing Image.tar.md5 via Odin. (Device not Rooted)
Disabled OEM protection and turned off google settings.
Is there a reason why it won't Root properly?

Motochopper root says failed

hi, i recently tried to root my Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 by following the steps from http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...php?p=40747604
but i keep ending up with failed root. i've already reset it multiple times to factory settings and tried again but still no change.
what could have gone wrong? Please help.
Probably you have updated OTA your S4 to MDM and now the new kernel is closed and can be no longer rooted using Motochopper exploit.

so any other options for me to have it rooted otherwise?
Currently this method works, but beware that the modified kernel that will be installed is not the latest one, so some display problems might return...

[Q] lost root access in update

I used towelroot to root my new galaxy s5, and then I accidentally downloaded the new Tmobile security update and now I no longer have root access on my phone. How can I fix this? By uninstalling the update somehow or rooting in a different way? My model is SM-G900T.

verizon S5 with BOg5 and lollipop

I bought a new/ used S5 (to replace my rooted S3) and had hoped to root it as well. Towel root made rooting very easy back then (for my S3) and now as I read the threads with people having the same S5 config as mine, there seems to be no way to root......not even by downgrading to 4.4. Is this correct ?
Being new to this, I am a bit confused about the other custom ROMs being discussed. Does my S5 need to be rooted to install a custom ROM ?
Thanks much

Correct, it's been said over and over in this forum. If you are on BOG5 you cannot root or downgrade. And yes, you must be rooted to run a custom ROM.

I was under the impression that safestrap didn't work with lollipop. That's why people used flashfire

You need to flash the NI2 kernel forest, then reboot. This should get you into SS. Look for NI2flasher.apk
You will also need to flash your build kernel (OG5) BEFORE you exit SS.

Some variants of the Tab E do not yet have custom recovery so this root method is supposed to be used for them but will work for other Tab E Variants. I personally use a Tab E Verizon which has no custom recovery yet.
Sm-t377v
I have a Sm-t377v running 6.0.1. Will this work for that?
If not would you know of another root for this one? I can't find anything myself...although I'm new to rooting devices lol so I may just be blind.

No you are not blind I have an SM-T377V and it is not rootable on marshmallow 6.0.1:crying: also on lollipop some people get bricked when they use this method.
My brother asked me to root his device, he has T377V, is there still no recovery created for the Verizon version?

Sm-t237p root?

I've been searching the forum for a few days now looking for a thread to help me. While I did find people asking the same I didn't find any useful help.
I had my tab rooted with kingroot for a long time but a few days ago I tried installing a recovery so I could flash xposed but something went wrong an it got stuck on the yellow sprint screen so I flashed a stock firmware with Odin to fix the issue. However now it won't root using kingroot. Am I doing something wrong? Does anybody have another idea of how I achieve root/recovery an xposed? It's been a while since I used the tablet so the only thing I can think of is I had it rooted before the 5.1.1 update, I honestly cannot remember. If that's the case does anybody have a downgraded firmware?
The tablet is a sm-t237p running 5.1.1
Update
Update - I was able to downgrade to 4.2.2 an active root thru king root. Now how can I achieve recovery? All the recovery posts are for different models.

Root for the SM-T237P on 4.2.2 is indeed achievable by Kingroot>then SuperSume>then Clear all cache with SystemCleanup.apk>Freeze all System Update Apps. In fact, I actually used an app called Root Cleaner. However, in 5.1.1 the SuperSume method does not work. I am searching the XDA world over for a copy of the PhilZ Recovery. Without it, we are doomed on such a nice tablet. There is no CF-Auto Root or TWRP for this model. And the Cf-330 method is garbage(No offense to those people using it). The SM-T237P updated yesterday to a more secure 5.1.1 dated June 26. Does anyone here know how to get a copy of the PhilZ recovery?

I actually just found somebody who posted a copy of it. It won't let me post links since I'm new but it's under galaxy tab 4 general called "Root for SM-T237P by sk8trix" it's on the last page. I have successfully flashed it an can confirm it's working. Now I'm working on xposed
