5.1.1 Rolling out today

Anyone get a FTF yet?

I've been checking XperiFirm periodically and nothing yet.

XperiFirm reports 3 versions available for SGP511
UPD: Running HK version of 5.1.1. Initial impressions from 5.1.1 - it works
Can see WiFi dropdown.
What is new and confusing is the Mobile Data icon in notification area. Says "Mobile data is disabled" - WTF on Z2 WiFI only?

I installed the same HK firmware last night and it's working great for me as well. I got the same "Mobile data is disabled" notification, but I swiped it away to dismiss. The notification hasn't come back even after rebooting.

Where can I get the HK version of 5.1.1, I suppose it is not pre-rooted?

You can either do it yourself:
- download the original encrypted files by XperiFirm;
- decrypt and create FTF by FlashTool;
- create pre-rooted ROM by PRFCreator.
OR, you could simply download pre-rooted ROM from neighboring thread by Kulvertti.
He's done his ROM based on LAM (Latin America) variant. This is quite irrelevant as it differs from other variants by bloatware only.

Z2 Tablet WiFi-Only:
After the update, I had a crazy forever repeating "com.android.phone has stopped" error popup, but I was able to stop that by blocking com.android.phone with Rootjunky's Debloater.
Apart from that, it shows a silly "No service" message in the corner of the lockscreen and the notification area. It has no place in a wifi-only tablet.
I think Sony derped out and pushed the Z2 Tablet 4G/LTE firmware to the Wifi-only models.

5.0.2 runs just fine on the Z2 tablet.
There doesn't seem to be any real reason to update to 5.1.1.
Or did anyone discover any advantages?

Well overall 5.1.1 does seem to run faster and smoother, I have the impression that apps start much faster, also the recent apps opens instantly now. And you get better volume controls, you can now adjust the ringtone volume while music is playing, without needing to go to the audio settings screen, and vice versa you can easily change media volume while no music or video is playing.

The whole mobile network thing is very annoying. Plus my z3 phone just recently had the front screen crushed, repair is 180 euro as the Z3 screen is made up of nearly half the phone ( if you dont believe me look it up). So I guess that instead of repairing, I will buy an alternative brand.
I am happy with my Z2 tablet, but that is because it is a tablet! And dont use it for important things. I hate to say it but I think its time Sony throws in the hat. They have the PS3 and the camera sensors, unless they can devote some time to 1 smartphone product a year, and 1 tablet a year then they are trying too hard in the mobile division (no pun intended )

Today I downdated my Z2 tablet back to KitKat since I couldn't live with the tinny flat sound of third-party apps ignoring the Sony sound enhancements.

Do you see any other benefits from running KitKat? I can't seem to get SD card working properly on KK..

I don't use an Sd card though so that's a non-issue for me. I mainly use my tablet for watching streaming media so the sound quality is very important to me, and with the sound enhancements in Lollipop not working globally, all apps except Sony's own sounds like crap.
I also didn't like the recent apps screen in lollipop, it looked too cluttered to me.
Also on Kitkat I don't need to swipe before I can enter my pattern to unlock...

I wonder does anybody knows why Sony stopped rolling out 5.1.1 for Z2 tablet? Mine is Baltic region one and it is still on 5.0.2
According to XperiaFirm several European countries still haven't received 5.1.1
Wonder why?

Doesnt work for me. B330b. The switch shows for some milliseconds but then is hidden. Already tried a factory reset but that also didn't help.

it is possible. i had the same thing: it disappeared after milliseconds, but i managed to press it quickly. just locate your thumb above the (invisible) button, go back, then enter the same menu again and hit it.
took me ~10 tries, but after that the button remained visible. it's kinda stupid, but i guess its still a bug.

Also some my friends have had this "problem". You must be only fast and it works
For me is still visible from the first moment, without disappearing.

There is no B330b it is just B330

it’s a little bit tricky, but it works!!!
And the best of it: After the first time you have get it, the switch does not disappear again.

I did the quick press button trick too. But seems there is an easier way by editing local.prop file now:

You may have noticed that the dialer shortcut on your Android 6.0/6.0.1 lockscreen has been replaced with a shortcut to Google Now. The lock screen has been evolving for a long time, and many of the changes have happened to provide a better experience to the user. However, Google doesn't always know what you want more than you do. If the dialer shortcut was something you regularly used to initiate calls, you can add it back to the lockscreen.
Here's how todo it:
Step 1:
Head to Settings menu and then choose Apps
Step 2:
Press the gear icon in the top right-hand corner and choose Default Apps > Assist & voice input.
Step 3:
Tap the Assist option and choose None from the pop-up menu.
The current selection is Google, which means that the Google Now shortcut on the lock screen will be replaced. And now for that caveat: Changing this setting also disables long-pressing the Home button to open Google Now on Tap.
If you change your mind, you can always switch the Assist app back to Google

The dark theme poses many problems especially in the scriptures, on my side I do not see flaws but if you see them passed me and I will make the changes.

So far so good. I like the theme. The circle for the home button isn't really smooth. Also, the text beneath each enabled item under the shortcuts is blue (maybe this can't be changed to red?) .
I'm using this on an honor 8 and everything seems to working as intended otherwise

I update it regularly and i works on navbar (red circle) , and i works on color of text but it patialy hard to change it (in framwork) .

cant get it to install, was on deodexed 301 so it woudn't install. reverted back to stock 301 but now I'm not recieving the update notification anymore

i just used it for 3 hours,now im reverting back,this is really for a person that doesnt bother in font having a full working O.S.
the notification system was the thing to roll back,you either have notifications all over around,or you dont (silence them all),theres no in bettwen option,like only sound and the icon in the status bar :/
Also i use bank apps,so....im rolling back to the reliable 6.0

No, there are those options! If you long press the gear on the notification bar you unlock more options, and between those there is one that enable the customization of the priority level. Sorry if I'm not clear, but I haven't my phone in english, so I can't point out the specific options.

Ok, I changed the language, so maybe this time I will be more clear. Drop down the notification bar until you see the tiles, long press the gear that you use for settings and you will unlock "System Tuner UI". Enter the setting, go down until the end and you will see "System Tuner UI", click it, click "Other", "Power notification controls" and then turn on this setting. Then, when you want to change the priority of an app, click on the A in the circle to turn off the automatic priority and make it manual. That's it. You can change other things, try to look around. Another tip: you can change the DPI in the Developer options (I've put 400 dpi).

Well the ui it's pretty much like aosp. Battery life for me is better then mm
