[ROM]LineageOS 14.1 adapted from GT-N8000 (2012) for GT-N8020 (2013) - Galaxy Note 10.1 General

First of all, I'm not the responsable for none of this great development work and I'll try to link every step to the source where I found each one and credit it to the right person.
I thought was important to post it here because, thanks to the Samsung, the Galaxy Note 10.1 have too many different device specs under the same product name and the internet is crowded with wrong tutorials or misleads.
If I said something wrong in this post, feel free to correct me or delete it if necessary.
The user Skyjumper at android-hilfe.de forum shared his experience testing an unofficial version of LineageOS 14.1 for GT-N8000 (2012) in GT-N8020 (2013). He also linked two XDA permalinks for comments with links to [1] TWRP 3.0.2 (by Aramir_, at here) and [2] LineageOS 14.1 unofficial (by lirokoa, at here). Then you have just to download the openGAPPS (I would suggest pico version), the Odin3 and the LineageOS add-on for SU (optional for who want SU access).
DOWNLOAD FILES
I uploaded every file for this tutorial to Google Drive because most of the websites have low speed traffic control, but feel free to download from where you want.
Odin3 v3.13.1 [xda] [gdrive]
Samsung Stock Rom [gdrive]
TWRP 3.0.2 [xda] [gdrive]
LineageOS 14.1 Unofficial [xda] [gdrive] - copy this file to your SDcard to be accessed by TWRP
LineageOS Add-on for Super User [lineageos] [gdrive] - copy this file to your SDcard to be accessed by TWRP
GAPPS [open GAPPS] [gdrive - pico] - copy this file to your SDcard to be accessed by TWRP
STEP 0 - go back to stock ROM throught Odin (just to be sure) *OPTIONAL
Activate the Developer Mode by tapping seven times the VERSION NUMBER ate ABOUT TABLET menu;
Activate the USB Debug at the development menu;
Restart the tablet in Download Mode (power button + volume down);
Open Odin and plug usb from tablet to computer, then select the stock ROM file (you have to extract the RAR file and use the *.tar.md5 file) and click start.
STEP 1 - install the custom recovery TWRP 3.0.2 throught Odin
Activate the Developer Mode by tapping seven times the VERSION NUMBER ate ABOUT TABLET menu;
Activate the USB Debug at the development menu;
Restart the tablet in Download Mode (power button + volume down);
Open Odin and plug usb from tablet to computer, then select the TWRP tar file and click start; at this point, the device will reboot and you have to be fast and hold power button + volume up to boot in recovery mode (if the system reboot, it will replace the custom recovery back to the default one and you will have to install the TWRP again with Odin.
STEP 2 - install the LineageOS and others tools throught the new TWRP - (only reboot at the end of the entire step)
In the TWRP, click WIPE, then ADVANCED WIPE and select CACHE and SYSTEM and wipe it, then click to FORMAT DATA to format it too;
Back to main screen, click INSTALL, select the SDcard storage and navigates until the LineageOS 14.1 zip file and swipe to instal;
Go back and click INSTALL again, and select the Google Apps file and swipe to install;
*OPTIONAL - Go again to INSTALL and select the the LineageOS add-on for Super User;
Reboot the system and do the initial configuration.
Know issues
The default device name at bluetooth configuration becomes GT-N8000, and you may want to change it back to GT-N8020 or any other you want;
The virtual keyboard starts hidden by default, then, at the initial configuration, when you will type your wifi password, you will have to activate the virtual keyboard visibility in the right bottom corner;
The configuration or MPT apps may stop working at the boot time, but just click the option to close and it will restart;
All the build mention at /system/build.prop is now N8000. I tried to edit the file to fit the real spes, but, to be honest, I don't really know what this really means, but still works properly to me.
Unknow issues
I couldn't test the SIM card usages and bluetooth yet. I'll try to edit this post when possible.
Additional steps
To activate the Super User, activate the Developer Mode (same as steps 0 or 1) then activate it at the Development menu;
The pico version of Google Apps installs only the necessary to run the Google Play app, now you may want to install the rest of essential google apps that you use.

Tested here, works all ok but the sim card, it is not even recognizing, came from stock n8020 rom.
I'll try to flash an n8000 rom and see if it makes any diff.

To flash it I had to modyfy the install script and take off the first assert line, because its target is n8000 and not n8020.
what changes did u make from the original lineageos 14.1 20170810 version?
Best Regards, Lincoln.

Has somebody else already tested this adaption for a N8020?

I know it's two different ROMs.
However it works very well. We hope the Lineage will release an official version for the GT N8020

LineageOS isn't going to release it. There is maintainers for each device, and if someone wants to do so for the Galaxy Note 10.1, they can do so. There is hundreds of maintainers.

Philz-Recovery seems to work fine for the Backup/Restore functions and also some zip-installations (be aware that not every zip is compatible with i8200!) .No workin boot image backup
Warning about the recovery:
Nevertheless, it is absolutely recommended to go to recovery ONLY WITH THE THREE BUTTON METHOD !!! To try it with the software/adb/startmenü "Reboot to recovery" will produce at the moment a bootloop, which can produce a "not easy to solve Softbrick". The three-Button-Method is safe!
Installation Guide for recoveries:

That's why they need donation for new custom roms. They need to buy the specific device, so they can work with it
So we need to gather a donation and say what we want
Do we have any hope now? :victory:
Well let's hope so, I'm sick and tired of having to put up with the stock ROM. I have more problems with it than a custom ROM for God's sake.
It appears that Galaxy S III Mini G730A have updated android to 4.4.2 Maybe will se it on our phone soon.

[ROM][KITKAT][UNOFFICIAL] Cyanogenmod 11 for SM-T805 LTE 16gb

This is a Cyangenomod rom for 10.5 Galaxy TAB S SM-T805 LTE.
Ive built this from nvertigo67 tree for SM-T800 so he deserves all the credit.
25/03/15 Updated
Switched to nvertigo67 current-12.0 kernel
Fixed Kodi/XBMC touch issue
Changed from google to samsung MTP driver.
21/03/15 Update, fixed Phone call audio only coming through left speaker
20/03/15 Update, fixed Dialer crash.
19/03/15 Updated, fixed a few issues.
Power off charging is now working
Reboot recovery is working, I did have to edit the java code to make this work, seems a recent change in CM caused this, possibly a bug in cm?
Wifi hotspot fixed.
Added f2fs support to kernel, recovery also updated, have not fully tested changing filesystem to f2fs. Edit. Seems like it will require a special built rom and recovery to work, I will look at this when I start running out of bugs to fix
Many other minor fixes.
Not Working:
In call audio only coming through left speaker
Dialer app chashing on making or receiving a call
Power off charging, boots into recovery.
Advanced reboot menu, wont reboot into recovery, though adb reboot recovery works. Not sure whats going on here.
Modem/Radio, wanted to get the rom working first and will now continue to get the radio up.
Camera, This could be a bug in CM from what I have googled. edit There is a fix, link down beow.
I find this tablet is so much better with this ROM , like many I hate Samsung's TouchWiz. Everything is so much smoother and responsive now.
To Install:
Flash TWRP Recovery First with odin, Follow this Cf-Autoroot guide and substitute CF-Auto-Root.tar with my recovery TWRP_SM-T805.tar downloaded from my google drive.
Once recovery is installed transfer the CM11 rom zip to your internal sdcard, also grab GAPPS http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Google_Apps and have that on your SD card also,
Optional grab supersu also.
Boot into recovery by powering off and holding down home, volume up and power till recovery starts.
Once in TWRP Recovery pick Install, choose the rom and gapps to install at the same time. Flash
After install finished we need to do a wipe, so go back to the main screen and choose wipe.
Reboot, Good luck.
I don't have a lot of time to answer questions, I will do my best to check back regularly.
Here is my github, It is upto date with my builds now. https://github.com/Andrewt12 )

For camera take a look at the last 4 commits (the reverts) from here: https://github.com/nvertigo/android_packages_apps_Camera2/commits/cm-11.0
I'm so involved in cm12 developing that I don't know if you can just use my repo, or if you have to rebase/reaply, but that is what breaks camerawraper on our device. The opting out like on picasso don't work for chagallwifi, so I think chagalllte suffers from the same issue. Hope this helps.

@nvertigo67, Thanks, that should help me get the Camera issue sorted. Good work btw, this rom is very stable.
@all, I have the modem working now. Calls and data are working. In the next few days I will post an updated rom and device files on github. I will also post clearer install instructions
@LoVeRice, Unsure about the t705, It could be mostly the same but may have small differences, I will download a stock rom when I get a chance and have a look.

You come from a Wifi-only rom, s.a CM-12?
Your tablet is defined as a wifi. You can edit the package script in the zip to remove the control

Hi meexx, You will need to use my twrp, different partition size than chagallwifi, thats also why it throws an error, as you installed chagallwifi twrp and it is looking for the wifi rom.
Just hold off for now though, my latest has many fixes to what I posted. I will hopefully upload later today, got to finish my chores first otherwise I will be in trouble with the wife for spending too much time on the computer.
Ok OK........ Greeting your wife we waiting for you. Can you make a Link to your twrp version? When this my problem is then i flash your twrp with odin and all is good, I hope so. Have a nice weekend.......... and Thanks for your work

[Guide] Multi Boot Note 5

[Guide] Multi Boot Note 5
I am using this on SM-N920C of the Note 5; I believe this will work with other Note 5 Variants as well. Sprint variant already confirmed. Others who have different variants which are not tested can try this and update us, and we will be here to help you out if you are ready to try this out.
@chenxiaolong is the one who made this happen to our beloved Note 5
Main advantage of this is you can try any new rom with out loosing or having any kind of trouble with your existing rom. This mod will not change anything in your primary rom, so any time you can go back to your normal state.
Disclaimer
1.I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,etc.
2.Before going further! YOU are choosing to make these modifications.
supported Devices: ( Tested and confirmed working)
SM-N920C : noblelte (Tested by me )
SM-N900P (Sprint): nobleltespr (Tested )
Requirements
* Read the full guide before Starting.
* Backup your phone if you are doing this first time. (Full Nandroid backup recommended for the new comers and it’s also recommended to others who don’t know what they are doing exactly even if they have multi booted several times)
* Rooted Note 5 with custom recovery (preferred TWRP or philz).
* free space in your internal SD (for example a TW rom could take up to 6.5GB )
* If you face any trouble please read the FAQ before doing something or asking for help. And if you want help please provide as much as details(device, roms, etc.) you can.
*
Instruction:
1.Download your desired Rom which you want to use for multi booting and the mods, addons, Kernel etc for the same. Keep the files in your internal memory.
2. Download the most recent snapshot release of Dual Boot Patcher and install it on your Note 5.
3. Open Dual Boot Patcher and grant SU permission. Then go to ROMS and you will see your Primary rom, press the 3dotmenu key and click "set kernel".
4. Then In Dual Boot Patcher go to Patch Zip File and Choose nobleltespr - samsung galaxy note 5 from the device drop down menu.
5. In the Partition configuration drop down menu select "Data Slot".
6. Below that you have to enter the ID of the secondary rom.(Example 1, 2, 3, etc. - it will take it as /data/multiboot/data-slot-1)
7.Now tap on the below button to choose the ROM's, Kernel and mods to patch them and make them perfect for Multi booting.
8. Always remember to keep same slot ID for the kernels and mods same as the rom. (Example: if you want to flash the kernel to the data-slot-1 rom then you have to select the same ID that’s 1 or if you want to flash the kernel to the data-slot-2 rom then you have to select the same ID that’s 2.)
9. Now press the tap to begin patching button to patch the file. And you will get a new patched zip file in the same location.
10. patch the kernel also for your rom with same id because most if the roms comes with out kernel so we have to patch the kernel and flash it along with the rom.
11. Now Boot into custom recovery and flash the new patched rom followed by the patched kernel without wiping anything and reboot.
12. And your device will boot into New Rom.
13.Install the Dual Boot Patcher app and set the kernel for your second ROM as well.
14. To switch between roms
•Open Dual Boot Patcher app/roms and click on primary or secondary rom as you like and reboot.
* Important things to keep in mind: while installing a rom or mod with Aroma installer don't reboot directly from the aroma.
You have to always uncheck the last option to reboot in aroma and click finish. So it can finish the final steps for multi booting.
And if you miss that it will only reboot to recovery. To boot back you have to flash your primary rom kernel or re-flash the patched rom.
Never update a secondary rom through OTA Update.
Revert
To revert back or if you face any problem just flash my Multi Boot cleaner.zip which will wipe all the installation files from \system and restore the primary rom kernel.
As a backup keep a copy of your kernel flashable zip file.
FAQ
1. App sharing?
Ans. Will be added shortly.
3. This rom can’t be patched.
Ans. some roms are not supported its known, if the Dev have time may be he will consider including them.
4. I am getting error while using the dual boot app.
Ans. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67198156&postcount=120
Add ro.patcher.device=noblelte to the bottom of your built.prop and your problem will be solved.
if your device is different from the above mentioned then add your product name instead of "noblelte"
if you don't know how to add this make a request with your product name, so i will make a flashable zip for that.

Could it work on my s6 edge 925F with a note5 rom? I'd really like to dual boot my phone!
Thanks for your work and sorry for the noob question!
Woeking on a Version for Samsung Galaxy S6 (G920F)?
Great work btw!
So adding that line to my build.prop allows me to multiboot two COJ5 ROMs just fine.
For fun i tried running the MM ROM as a primary and booting a COJ5 as a secondary, it doesn't work. The COJ5 ROM sits in a semi-bootloop it either sits at the Samsung boot animation or the "Starting Apps" . Now i stopped it after ~20 minutes, i figured it was dead at that point.
Either way Multiboot def works nicely on the SM-N920T

Check the screen shot for supported device's. With a note 5 rom I'm not sure. But with a note 5 port sure you can and the procedure will be almost same.

It will work with s6 also. You can follow the same instructions.
In the device drop down you have to select s6 flat/edge.
And the rest is same as note 5 guide.
if there is more requests, i can make a guide for s6 as well. for that i need a tester to confirm its working. i know its already working. but just in case. also as long as the moderators allows i will give support for that thread.

Steps to install other variant ROMs (Including Galaxy S7 Port ROMs) on N910P

Guys, I'm making this thread for those people who are using Sprint's Note 4 (N910P) outside of US and are stuck with Sprint's ROM (or the ROMs that are based on it) and have certain issues in using the ROM.
For instance, I'm using the unlocked variant of N910P with a GSM carrier, so I was having problem in connecting to the Hot-Spot feature as all of my devices were stuck at "Obtaining IP Address" loop and eventually would never connect.
I did try various "hacks" present here on XDA for enabling Hot-Spot feature like using Galaxy Tools, using SQLite Editor, etc but wasn't able to overcome the problem.
Since, XDA is a great platform for sharing solutions to various problems, I decided to create a thread especially for those who don't want Sprint's bloatware but want to stick with "Stock ROM features" like S Pen.
Hence, here's the step-by-step guide for installing other carrier's ROM on N910P:
Before attempting all this,make sure to be on OK1 Bootloader & Baseband (Do not try this on Marshmallow Bootloaders) for N910P.
Step 1:
Install TWRP recovery version 3.0.1 (Yes, you read it right..it's 3.0.1 & not 3.0.2)
Once you have downloaded, flash it through ODIN (the TAR file) or through existing TWRP (using ISO image).
Step 2:
Make a backup of your current ROM so that you can revert to it in case of unsuccessful flash.
Step 3:
Go to Wipe (in TWRP)-----> Factory reset (do this 3 times.....yes, 3 times!)
Then, go to Advanced Wipe & wipe Dalvik/ART cache,Cache,Data,Internal Storage, System (Do not wipe external SD Card).
Hit the back button to come out of the "wipe window"
Step 4:
Click on "Install" and choose the files in following order:
a) Dr Ketan's ROM
b) Data Fix for the ROM
c) Kernel
d) SuperSU (I used beta 2.71)
Once the flashing process is finished, reboot the system and wait for the phone to boot.
It will take a long time (around 10-15 minutes) to boot.
Once you are on setup wizard screen, choose to apply "Dr Ketan's fix" and then you can proceed like you do in any other ROM.

Note: I am in no way to be credited for all this as the links provided above are a result of hard work from the respective developers. I have just compiled all the links into one thread so that it can help anyone like me to switch to other ROM.
Also, neither I nor any of the above mentioned developers/members are responsible for any fault that may arise due to improper flash or other reasons..
Do all of it at your own risk!
Last but not the least, I would like to thank @ricohz for helping me out when I was stuck in some steps..
(In the screen-shot attached, the model number is 920T for obvious reasons...so don't ask why it's not 910P..)
Do note that the APNs have to be edited manually, else the data connectivity would not be there!
(This thread should benefit the non-Sprint users........)
Update:
There are some more ROMs that can be flashed successfully on N910P such as:
1. Maximum Overdrive
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-tmobile/development/s7-portn910t-n910w8-t3375956
2. Nameless ROM

Tinkering and flashing custom ROMs on Android is not always a piece of cake...
Loads of patience is required and if the process is not carried out as stated/expected, time is bound to get wasted.
Anyway, here's what you need to do (Or at-least, expected to do..):
1. Take a backup of the current ROM.
2. Do Factory reset 3 times ( First time, do it again & do it yet again..making it three times)
3. Wipe everything(except External SD Card) again 3 times as above.
4. Flash the ROM.
5.Once ROM is flashed, do not reboot & flash the Data Fix.
6.Again, do not reboot and flash the Vitamin Kernel (originally meant for F variant).
7. Do not reboot yet again & flash the SuperSU (I FLASHED 2.71).
Now, reboot and wait for the setup screen to appear. It will take quite a long time to appear and the phgone will be stuck on Samsung logo for quite a while.
Now, if you have patience, wait for the process to finish, and if not, you know what to do..

I don't think that you can directly flash the stock ROM of "F variant" directly. Doing so might result in a bricked device.
My advise to you will be to carry out the procedure as stated in this thread.
The ROM provided in this thread is 99% stock so you will not face any compatibility issues.

System status is custom, don't know what's is the build version and stuck in download mode.

I have an note 3 that was repaired because it wasn't connecting to the internet and when it was repaired, the system status was set to custom meaning it can't receive updates. So when I was rooting it, it wouldn't boot to android, instead it was stuck in download mode and saying "Could not do normal boot". It can't even go to recovery mode. I don't remember what was the build number was, so I don't know what firmware should I install. Also, it's in Korean when in download mode.
Model name: SM-N9005
I am lost and need help.
EDIT 11/02/2022: I just realized that in download mode it shows SM-N900S.

Hi,
Once I had this problem too.
Go here then search your model number and download the firmware you want (They are all official).
When downloaded extract the file.
Now download Odin and run it on your computer or laptop.
If there were 1 or 2 files in the zip file you downloaded, in Odin click "AP" and then select the bigger file. If there were 4 or 5 files in the zip file there is a 2 character word at the start of the extracted files like BL-xxxxx Or AP-xxxxx ETC. You can see these names in Odin too. Select the files by their name .
Now plug your phone to your computer or laptop with a good cable.
Turn your phone on to the Odin mode (download mode) and on your computer click Start.
After a while it will reboot and your Galaxy Note 3 will be fixed.
Note: When you select files in Odin it will take around 30 minutes to check the file so if it wrote "Odin is not responding" don't worry, just wait.
If you had problems please let me know.

Note: When you select files in Odin it will take around 30 minutes to check the file so if it wrote "Odin is not responding" don't worry, just wait.
If you had problems please let me know.

The region of the firmware is not very important.
Just download the one you like.
Other websites are not very good.
Because the files are so big, sometimes there are problems with them.
If you saw errors, sometimes it's for the file. Just download another one.
And if you wanted to get it easier, just root your device then install a good custom ROM like MagMa NX or N7 port phonersis or even android 11 with official LineageOS.
If you wanted to use a custom ROM please let me know to help you.
Because I installed custom ROMs many times.

SamMobile firmwares are archived and you have to pay to get them. And not archived ones have bugs.

Hi,
Once I had this problem too.

Thanks man, that fixed my phone, but I used a different website called updato because it had my firmware on it. Now I have to root and install LineageOS on my phone now, but I need some tips and guides so I don't mess up my phone again lol.

For custom ROMs, N7 port by phonersis is running android 6 and turns your Note3 into a Note7. There is also MagMa NX ROM that is running android 6 but it's Samsung Naught themed and it's a bit slow.
And LineageOS 18.1 (Android11) is the fastest ROM for your device. The only problem with LineageOS is that you don't have a Samsung phone anymore. It's like a Google Pixel. You can't use Samsung notes or other Samsung apps and services. And if you used S Pen much, I don't recommend LineageOS.
But currently I am using LineageOS and N7 port phonersis. Sometimes I switch between them (but I don't recommend switching).
Steps to install custom ROMs:
Step 1: take a backup of your important data.
Step 2: root your device. see how to root
Step 3: flash the specific version of TWRP.(Because some custom ROMs require a specific version of TWRP like MagMa NX or N7 port by phonersis)
Step 4: full wipe (system, data, dalvik, cache).
Step 5: install the ROM.
If you wanted to install N7 port by phonersis please read the instructions.
And download LineageOS from the official site.
If you had any problems please let me know .
Some of us been downloading firmware free of charge from sammobile for many years .Likewise other sites .But times change since this was an actively developed model .
Problem with Note 3 is that old uploads are now dead due to many years passed .

Full wipe= system-cache-dalvic(ART cache)-data.
If can't reboot to system it means you deleted your devices system. Which ROM are you gonna install? I am crDroid.
