mobile bands lost sim cards not working in redmi 4 prime - Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime Questions & Answers

last night I tried to switch to another lte band by dialing *#*#4636#*#* , I don't know what band I chose , now no 2g or 3g bands and just one sim card works at a time and the one works only on LTE band, so since my operator doesn't offer volte I can't make calls and even receive messages. I found the proper qcm file and flashed it with qpst software successfully but nothing happened. any one have an idea what to do?

[Q][L5-E615] dual sim does not work properly

Hi,
My device is LG L5-E615 unlocked.
I've put 2 different operators sim cards into the device. The first slot sim is WCDMA and the second slot is normal GSM.
When I enable both slots, from time to time(like 10 minutes to 1 hour), the connection of the GSM sim card goes away and it says "No Service" and after a few minutes (2 or 3 minutes), the signal comes back. I'm not on the move and I have strong signal.
When I use 2 GSM sims, such problem does not happen. It only happens when one sim card is WCDMA and the other is GSM.
I've changed the slots (First WCDMA, Second GSM / First GSM, Second WCDMA), but it doesn't help.
Does anyone else have such problem? Any idea how can I track the issue and solve it?
Thanks

This is a known issue of the stock rom. Using two WCDMA enabled sims solves the problem. I doubt if any of the custom ROMs, of which there aren' that many yet, will solve this issue.
Note that while using two WCDMA sims, it is not possible to use 3G on both the simcards, one will always run in GSM mode only.

Hi there, thanks for this info. I currently have two sims,a 3 SIM and a Samba (internet only) sim that runs on the 3 network. My phone has the standard one sim slot GSM and other WCDMA.
I first tried my 3 SIM by itself in both the GSM and WCDMA slot and to my surprise it worked in both (in terms of 2G services). I thought that a 3 sim couldn't work in a GSM (2G) slot ? So I decided to leave the 3 sim in the GSM slot and then added the Samba sim into the WCDMA slot. However, when I turned the phone back on it connected to the Samba sim but the 3 sim said no network was available.
Any idea why this is ? Sorry if this has been asked before but I haven't been able to find an adequate explanation !

Problem with 4G signal @ Dutch vodafone 800, 1800, 2600 MHz

Hello,
I have the following problem: I can't get a 4G signal with my provider.
Vodafone Netherlands uses 800, 1800, 2600 MHz for 4G connection.
I have bought my telephone at flosmall . com
It should work, or do I forget something?
Can somebody explain this?
I had the same.
I tried some 4g signals apps to check my connection. This one seemed to fix it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mcstealthapps3.networksignalsearch
Let me know if it worked for you!
I have trieded with the app but nothing changed.
But still on 3G...
I need to ask this.
Is your SIM card even 4G capable? If its older than 3-4 years it might not be.
I don't know anything about vodafone, but try googling, for one of my providers I actually needed to activate 4G on their website after logging in to my account.
Also. Settings -> Dual SIM & mobile networks. Is network mode set to 4G priority and Celluar data to correct SIM card if you are using dual setup.
Yes the sim card is capable with 4G (was using it on Lumia 950XL).
Have contacted Vodafone about the problem.
But the will only support devices that Vodafone Netherlands will be sell.
Have tried to flash lineage rom, but nothing change about the signal.
(stock Rom was from groschopp)
I also have a Le Pro 3 (x720) on the same network in the Netherlands and I have no issues with 4g.
I am currently using the Grossoshop-Rom (Build-number WAXCNFN5902011181S).
You can download several signal apps in the play-store to see if Band 20 is available to you, this is the one used in my region for 4g Vodafone.
I assume you set the preferred network type to 4G?
It's working now
Have called Vodafone again for some extra information about the frequency band for 4G.
But nobody could help me, there was one person that say i can give you a other simcard type maybe it will help. (I say how will it help if 4G works on a other phone with the same sim card, but let's just test it)
Afterwards the call, visited the shop for a other sim card
Doing the sim in slot 1 nothing changed, same 3G signal.
Was thinking this the last try and do the sim card in slot 2 and after 10 minutes i have LTE signal.
Trying slot 1 again but only 3G. changed back to slot 2 and solved.
Have earlier check slot 2 with me "older" sim card and only 3G was showing up.
I have noticed stock ROMs have better signals than say CM

You need to enter the APN settings for your provider's data coverage in the Mobile data section of Settings.

Are you on a custom ROM? Maybe it did something to the modem. If so, you need to return to a stock ROM and try.
The phone has all the bands it needs to work on your carrier, and my carrier as well. My SIM already had the APN settings for my carrier on it, and I connected to LTE right away on my x722. I'm on a vendor ROM, which is pretty much just stock eUI. I can't fathom why it doesn't work for you if you're still on stock. Have you tried the SIM in other phones?
I also have this problem in Romania with my LeECO Le Pro3, but with Orange 800,1800 and 2600Mhz. The only solution for this problem was to manualy search and select the 4G operator network. Although in settings/network operator it was on 4G/3G/2G(Auto) by default, my phone was stuck in H+/H/3G until i manualy search and select 4G. If you are sure your SIM is 4G and you have the corect APN you can try this but you will have to search and select for several times manualy to work. I find this solution very uncomfortable because every time you restart your phone or put it in airplain mode, you will have to repeat manual searches and register in 4G.
my x720 doesn't have the correct bands active. i activated them with qpst but only actived and running in sim2 (sim 1 actived but no gain lte signal)
ah! i'm on 20s

S7 dual-sim (G930FD) howto working simultaneus LTE4G / 3g2g on both sim

HI
for starters please excuse me for my English (i use g.t.)
sow i have today a good surprise with my S7 dual-sim (G930FD) with latest nougat firmware
- SIM 1 (DigiMobile Romania) to be in 3g/2g mode and using 3g band (2100 MHz)
- SIM 2 (Vodafone Romania) to be in LTE/3g/2g mode and using LTE band (800 or 1800 MHz)
How to:
1. set 4G on the sim you want, then turn off that sim.
2. then for the other sim set it to 3G/2G
3. then turn on the sim that you turned off
4. if done right you will see SIM1 LTE/3G/2G, SIM2 3G/2G. or SIM1 3G/2G , SIM2 LTE/3G/2G
Seems also work here in Germany with TMobile and O2. Thx for this hint.
welcome
thanks seems to work for me as well
Had some problems with sim 2 (data sim) on lte and sim 1 on 3G (H). Incoming calls on sim 1 are going directly to the mailbox. Sim 2 is working properly.
If both cards are on 3G all is working fine.
Can someone check!?

No VoLTE & SIM 2 mostly switches to 2G

I have 2 SIMs (Both 4G/VoLTE) but none seem to work with Max Pro M2. Is there any issue with VoLTE?
One is from Airtel another from Idea.
I even tried *#*#4636#*#* and forcing LTE but the issue is after reboot the menu changes back to TD-SCDMA/CDMA/UTMS
Mobile Radio Power and VoLTE Provisioned show Green
Voice / Data network type show LTE
In settings Enhanced VoLTE is enabled and Select Network 4G Preferred.
Also as its a Dual SIM phone after dialing *#*#4636#*#* only one SIM shows up in the menu for settings so I have to disable one sim and update setting.
But settings dont stay and keep changing back.
Mobile Operators say that VoLTE is enabled for my number and should work but not working. Any help? Or anyone else facing this issue?
Thanks
For me also airtel volte did not work. Switched to jio where it worked. Cant say about idea.

How to check LTE bands supported on phone

My Redmi Note 7 arrived yesterday from Banggood and things seem to be working well, except that I don't seem to be getting LTE. I'm in Canada and need band 4 to get LTE on Koodo.
The description on the banggood page included band 4. The model is M1901F7G, and the specs the I find everywhere say that it supports band 4. The FCC ID is 2AFZZ-RMSF7G, and the test reports that I found include band 4. But when I turn off my Wifi all I see is a great big H+.
Is there a way on the phone to check what bands it actually supports (without root)?
Have you checked the APN of the phone is correct? I bought a Redmi 5A for my father and it couldn't get 4G because of that.
I checked and it all matches the settings found here:
https://www.koodomobile.com/help/setting-data-your-non-koodo-phone
Should I try switching SIM slots? I'm currently using SIM 2 so it doesn't block the (currently unused) microSD slot.
Update: Rebooting the phone gave me 4G access. I realized that I hadn't rebooted since installing the SIM card.
My question still stands though. Is there a way to check from the phone which LTE bands are supported? It would be useful to know when I next travel.
Checking for all supported bands is only possible on rooted phones, afaik.
The currently used band is shown by apps like Netmonitor: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.parizene.netmonitor
