Found this, and i also agree with someone earlier, the images stop branching in Feb this year, the last specific image was o2/UK model

I would try the unlock method, then the vzw unlock method if it doesn't work. Then you can pick an international or you can pick the newest. If it doesn't work you can download and flash what you have now, that should set you right?

Be more specific - what model of Note 4 do you have? What kernel?

Wow Asus working overtime
Not really, this happened with last update too.
Someone tried rooting this system? I have bootloop after every attempt :/
I have noticed a better performance with release 2.20.40.164. The battery is not draining as in previous version. I am happy with this.

I have been using the Method 3 from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/asus-zenfone-2-flashing-recovery-mode-t3096596
The root persists after every OTA. So no need to un-root and root again, after any OTA.
rooting does well, but i getting bootloped when install xposed v79.
ps : currently rolled back to .156 using pre-root then updating again to .165
wish me luck

This is confusing. As far as I know, the 1-click root package is called "ZenFoneRootKit.zip". This is what's described in Method 3.
I've never heard of "Zenfone_quickroot.zip"...
Now is Method 3 (ZenFoneRootKit) usable for .165 or is it not?
@Shaxine, thank you. Method 3rd (ZenFoneRootKit) from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/asus-zenfone-2-flashing-recovery-mode-t3096596 works good on .165.
This is s.h.i.t > http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/root-newbie-root-instructions-zenfone-2-t3114063 - bootloop is certain.
@piway thank you for info about xposed. Now we have to wait for an update xposed :<

Show some respect for the developers they are doing and sharing it for free in their free time if you don't like go make one for yourself and use it :silly::silly:
xposed v79 and root are both working for me on the 165 update. I did my typical dance to upgrade from 164 to 165:
Boot tethered twrp
Do a full backup
"install" the xposed-uninstaller
Reboot
Wait for apps to be optimized
Go into SuperSU and do full uninstall
Reboot
Let the upgrader install the update
Reboot and wait for apps to be optimized
Boot tethered twrp
Install SuperSU
Install xposed
Reboot
Wait for apps to be optimized
Because of the backup and optimizing apps three times, the whole process takes an hour or more. The tethered TWRP also requires a computer. This method of running TWRP gives me some of the benefits of an unlocked bootloader---easy rooting and easy install of xposed---without having to actually unlock my boot loader and (possibly) void my warranty. I can understand some people preferring the ease of the one-click type installers, but I've not had good luck with them.
I put up the tethered package I use in a post on the tethered TWRP thread. Some of the components are updated, and it seems more reliable than the original tethered package.
I can confirm that xposed 79 it's working. And I was able to update as usual.

How to update Huawei Nova to Nougat?

Hi, I have a Huawei Nova and I can't upgrade it to Android 7.0 Nougat. The firmware I have atm is CAN-L01C150B102. All the firmwares I found are for the c432 version. Is it possible to upgrade to Nougat on the firmware I'm running atm?
dont do it...its not worth the effort........ imo
I would like to test IT by myself
Hehe...thats you choice my friend...and you will like it for maybe a week then youll search for a way to roll back...
And youll be stuck...
And may end with apps that dont work like theme manager...
And search everyday for hoping for an update for your device...

Ive updated my Nova CAN-L11 (not rooted) two days ago to Nougat (B340) and i didnt have any issue until now. Themes app is working without any problems.
Ive encountered 2-3 slowdowns, but Chrome might have been the issue as i had too many tabs opened.
Battery backup seems same. But it seems that there is more free ram. Also it seems that the Z-RAM is gone (if i remember properly, ive seen Z-RAM on MM at Android OS memory usage).
Ive upgraded mainly because i wanted to test as well and because i like more the notification panel. However, i think i would stick with MM for two reasons:
- it works just fine
- Xposed (usually i use only XPrivacy though)

Honestly, i feel a bit like i wanna rollback But im not sure if i will do it.
Did you try to rollback and failed? I read in the downgrading thread that some people has succesfully downgraded with the help of a TWRP backup.
Recently i read that reinstalling stock firmware relock the bootloader, so basically the phone still has warranty. If this is the case, ill root it right away as i cant bear it anymore without root
I should have rooted my Nova when i was on MM to take a backup with TWRP.
I still havent recieved any hints on how to upgrade to 7.0. Does anyone know how to do it with The current software that I Jacek ?

Hi,
Someone with RETEU has received the OTA update?
I ask only to know it.

[OREO] Oreo Beta on ANY USA/Snapdragon S8/+! [04/10/18]

Hello all - the Oreo beta is now officially over for all devices and unofficial beta devices may need to be manually migrated to the release branch:
Note: Your device will receive OTAs after this update.
Note: Please use Updato or SamMobile to acquire the latest firmware for your device if you use AT&T or Verizon, or use XAA for a clean, unlocked experience.
1. Use SamFirm to acquire the latest Oreo build for your device (if not AT&T or Verizon).
Enter SM-G950U/SM-G955U/SM-G955U1 depending on your model.
Enter your desired carrier code, or XAA for unlocked (common are TMO, SPR)
Select Auto, Check CRC32, and Decrypt Automatically.
Click Download
2. Once the download is done, extract the archive.
3. Use the patched Odin 3.13.1 from @realbbb. This is necessary for carrier-switching, including to unlocked/debranded/XAA.
4. It is safe to use HOME_CSC to preserve your data, but if you're switching to an unlocked build or switching carriers, you MUST use CSC (data will wipe).
5. You can also use CSC to wipe your data and get a fresh factory start.
Previous post:
Howdy - here's how to get Oreo!
OLD PROCESS FOR BETA 1-2 IS BELOW - Move on to Beta 4 below!
Credit to @norbarb for the leaked update!
Try at your own risk - this is for the brave
First, read this:
Code:
Since we don't have a flashable CSC for the unlocked firmware, your phone will be branded with whichever SIM you have inserted.
This means your unlocked S8+ will become a TMO S8+, for example. It all depends on the inserted SIM.
This is compatible with G955U/U1 and G950U/U1.
Warning: Back up your data! Your phone will be reset.
Step 1: Be on the AQGL baseband. Skip the below steps if you're already there.
You can do this by downloading your AQGL package and ODIN below. Extract the ZIP, open ODIN, and connect your phone in download mode.
Then, select (from the ZIP you just extracted) BL, AP, CP, and CSC (NOT home csc) in their respective slots. Don't change any other options. Select Start.
After this is done, your device will boot into recovery.
Tip: If you're getting verification errors in ADB, you likely don't have the latest version installed.
NEXT!
Step 2: Flash the Oreo update package:
Download the Oreo update package below.
Connect your phone to your computer while it is in recovery.
You must have ADB installed. Open command prompt or terminal.
Sideload the package by typing "adb sideload XXXXXX".
You may see multiple errors/warnings. Ignore them.
DO NOT touch or unplug the device until it reboots on its OWN!
Last step
Open your device, and perform a factory data reset. This is mandatory.
New! - Update your Google Play Services to v940. Thanks @Dudash
Code:
As always, anything you from XDA is done at your own risk! There's a chance that someone got something wrong, and you could mess up your device! Please - if you want to be safer, wait until a bunch of people have tried a given ROM/procedure/tool before you try yourself!
There's a bit too much instability for the moment in the update schedule. Once the correct build is confirmed as Beta 4, I'll update the OP to the new method.
Thanks for sticking around, guys!

Hi all, here's the new process for beta build installation:
1. Install BQK5 (Nougat)
2. Install Oreo
That's all, and here's how:
[1.] Odin to BQK5. This will wipe your data. You must do this no matter what software you're currently on.
Select CSC_OYN, not HOME_CSC.
Important: This update contains bootloader 2, which means that you can no longer install any updates based on bootloader 1 (i.e., AQJC).
All new updates are based on B2, so you'll need to eventually do this anyway.

Update. Sideload didn't work. I got to go via apply from SD card. It is doing its thing now. Will let you know how it went.
Works like a charm. Excellent. Only thing I did different was apply via SD card. For some reason it wouldn't read it on my computer to push it adb. Said failed to read. So I installed it on a SD card and installed that way. It all checks out. All signed and certified.
Thank you for posting this but I have some noob's questions:

2) What does changing the baseband does for me? Anything significant will change?
3) Can I go back to nougat if I want?
4) Upgrading to oreo like this shouldn't trip knox right? Because it official...
Thanks!

Question one, I checked for updates and it still says it can check for them. So I believe that is a yes.
2. Depends on your baseband you have and carrier. Aqgl is the lastest baseband for Sprint phones I know for sure. So the new one is the Oreo one being a completely different version.
3. Only way to revert is data reset. Wipe the whole phone and take it back to the way you got it.
4. Knox and all the stuff still works. Samsung pay and all that. So Knox doesn't get tripped.
I have found so far everything I use works fine or better than before. Substratum is working flawlessly along side samsung themes. I can't stand their keyboard so I ditched that. Camera is way better. Setting are more open with way more options. I don't see a downside. I turned off my other s8 that is rooted to use this as my daily driver.

1) While it appears to "check for updates", you will not get updates. We all will have to wait for a developer to load the next version files for us, again.
3) A factory reset WILL NOT REVERT YOU TO NOUGAT. You will need to download and flash via Odin the appropriate .zip file.

@dmezh,
Thanks for bringing this over from the AT&T thread. I've been on this for a couple of days now, an it has been flawless for me. Zero issues. It's my daily driver now.
And I want to emphasize to all users, the importance of your instructions regarding factory reset: on a major system update like this you have a big risk of system conflicts resulting in issues if you choose not to. It's a lot less work in the long run to just bite the bullet and do it now.

Thank you! Please, friends, save yourself the pain later on. Factory reset.
Hello, I am currently on Sprint, latest official version(which is august patch, AQGL), so I should flash straight from Odin the Unlocked firmware and then sideload Oreo OTA?

You won't get any updates unless you manually flash them, or revert back to stock.

Since you are already on AQGL, you should be good to directly sideload the Oreo zip.

ADB SD CARD is simply applying the file to the sd card, going to recovery on your phone, select apply update adb sd card and that's it.
I got it to work thank you

It probably didn't work due to the following:
Wrong model, this will only work for the regular Galaxy S8 G950U T-Mobile version, not the S8 Plus.
Wrong software version, you have to be on G950USQS2BQL to be able to update the Oreo Beta file.
Do these need renamed to "update.zip"
Also thanks!

They don't need to be renamed at all and no problem.

Unfortunately, you won't get automatic updates. That only applies for people that have been enrolled in the beta program. If you want to keep up with the latest updates, you can use this link:

Thanks for that information. Now before I flash this build. Are there any bugs or glitches that I should be concerned about? If need be how do I go back to stock?

Is there a none wipe version of this update? Kinda don't want to start over.

Well, I mean these are beta versions, getting bugs & glitches is kind of expected lol As of right now in this version, I've experienced very minimal problems. It runs very smooth, it's one of the best beta versions yet. I do experience some lag after a week or so, but that's expected. If for whatever reason, you run into problems, you want to or need to go back to stock, I do have the ODIN files to flash back to stock, if needed. Just let me know.
Unfortunately, as of right now, there's no method or version to avoid your device from being wiped. You can back up your data with smart switch.
