Any way to change the soft keys?

I've looked around and it appears there are a number of paid apps that apparently let me change the soft keys, but I'm not 100% sure if they'll work with the stock LG G2 "OS"...
I want my multitasking button back... No need for a settings button, IMO.

Absolutely. And I'm handy with UNIX, so navigating the filesystem and using text editors to muck with XML isn't a problem. I'm just not a developer.
Also interested in being able to change it that key to recent apps.

Just tested, no you can not. It will always hide after you lock your screen, so you'll have to swipe/touch to bring the soft keys back up.

And also it will always overlap over the screen. There are ways to keep the navbar from disappearing, but you won't be able to access anythi g underneath it because it doesn't shift the screen up, just overlay

I just tried SoftKeyZ. No luck
Big letdown because it looks like a great app. Hopefully the dev can get it working for us in the future.

My quasi solution was auto hide soft keys, auto to 0, auto hide only had anywhere on the bar checked, and swipe. You still need to swipe after wake, but if you need anything under it, just tap the left side to hide. If you use the mock option, home will leave space for it.

Curious if anyone knows how to keep the soft keys transparent when using Nova Launcher?

I sent the nova developer an email about it. He said he is looking into it. He can enable if LG allows third party apps access to that feature.

i'm sure most of you know already, but holding the home button will bring up recents.
Yes, but, not,as,convenient as having a dedicated button. Personal choice I guess.

I use GMD soft keys to hide them completely then use LMT for pie. That way I can completely control my button layout, gain screen real estate, navigate from left right and bottom and do it with whatever colors I choose. A must have for me.

Remove Smart stay icon in notification bar?

Hi as title says, is there a way to remove the slight faded eye looking icon in the notification bar when smart stay features are on?
I always leave the feature on so the icon sitting on my notification bar is unnecessary. I am rooted and am amusing I need to delete a system file (maybe?) so if anyone knows please tell me
Thanks!

Root. Install latest xposed framework. Install Wanam exposed module. Toggle the corresponding setting there.
use 2 finger to pull down from top and you shall see the option to turn it off.

That is not the same thing, the toggle will disable smart-stay, most people would want smart-stay to still work but not to show the icon.

I don't understand the process. It sounds quite complicated so I think I'll just live with the icon showing on my notification bar.

I like this idea a lot. Maybe you can get a bounty placed on it. Would be a great use for the sensor.
It's possible already, the app maker has to support it. The app has no access to the fingerprint info, it's just for verification (in this case, locking the app) so that addresses the privacy concern

I think several exist.... Search applock in play store. I don't have link but I know they do. Only a few support fingerprint.... But I'm sure all will update as a few have already

Shows up as not compatible...maybe it's my DPI settings?
Finger Security is Samsung only. Applock would have been great, but I can't have it to access the fingerprint scanner...

Only for pictures. What I want is an app locker for any app (cause my bank app is not a picture).
Hey guys! We finally have have an fingerprint app lock!! Its called Maxlock on Xposed. It does require you to be rooted. I am using this app now and it works flawlessly.

Always on display on J500F?!

It's there any way to implement always on display on this device?

Good Lock 2019 (One Handed Operation) / System - Display - Navigation bar

Good Lock 2019 is superb from Samsung no doubt about it but in case of System - Display - Navigation bar - Navigation buttons or Full screen gestures AND One Handed Operation which is available in Good Lock...what's the use of having both why cant we disable system navigation buttons or gestures if we ONLY have to use One Handed Operation which in my opinion is super awesome!!
