Outdoor visibility (max brightness) - Moto Z3 Play Real Life Review

Rate this thread to express how well you can see the Moto Z3 Play's display outdoors. In case you've been playing Minecraft for 18 months straight, you might not known how to get outside anymore. Well, find the door and walk through it. A higher rating indicates that it has very high maximum brightness and thus fantastic outdoor visibility in direct sunlight.

I've had the Motorola Z3 play (Sprint) since July 2018, now October 2018. I can honestly say that even in completely direct sunlight, with Max brightness, there is no struggle to see what's on my screen. Aside from holding the phone at some awkward angle, that no one would actually look at their phone at.

I would give it a 4.5/5 on outdoor brightness. The only reason I don't think it deserves full points is because the plastic screen causes glares in the sun.
I would give it a 3.5/4. It might just be me our the screen protector. I still have to move to shade even at different angles. Maybe there is a trick.
3, in bright sunlight, I have to work really hard to see on screen images.

The max brightness is great. No issue reading under the sun. IMHO, the only displays that can do better are Super AMOLEDs from Samsung (S9 and iPhone X).
Enough for me

I've owned this phone for about two days and have had no problems seeing the display in direct sunlight. Comparing the phone outside to my Note 9, they seem pretty close in brightness under direct sun. The Note 9 is a little brighter. One thing I did notice is that the Note 9 is more color accurate, which is to be expected.

Outdoor visibility is manageable, but not good. Coming from a Galaxy S9, 100% brightness on the Pixel 5 feels like 75% on the Galaxy. I'm on the latest Android 13 update in 2023 as well. :/
