For root, you need to unlock bootloader first, and even the official unlock method page says the warranty is void once you unlock, then how can you say that?

Official , then can't get warranty

It is mentioned in the unofficial guide that rooting will void the guarantee.

Hi , do you know about the OTA sttus after TWRP and Magisk.
The unofficial TWRP says OTA is supported (20180518 build) but do we need full rom or regular OTA, or it is just in theory for now (as no new OTAs released).
Can you comment ( if you can ) about this post https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76570095&postcount=28, I have mentioned the steps which I used in previous devices but not sure about Asus.

if eneble bootloder then can i clame warenty.

I relocked it a couple of days ago. It was quite a hassle with continuous errors! I definitely want the official update of lollipop so I wait with re-unlocking until I'm sure I don't need an locked bootloader anymore!
I hate to be unrooted however (used to cyanogenmod 11 on my previous device).

Even with unlocked bootloader ull get official update. Only thing is you ll have to flash the update manually from cache folder.
And root, we ll have the zip file as soon as someone gets update on xt1068. No need to wait for ota update. Manually flashing is more simple i feel.
I cant stay without root[emoji14]

I put the stock rom and stuck bootlaoder,
I get DEVICE IS LOCKED. STATUS CODE.2
however, the warranty will be void.
the original version had STATUS CODE.0

About the status codes:
0 = locked, original, never been unlocked. Warranty OK!
3 = unlocked. Warranty void!
2 = locked, but has been unlocked in the past. Warranty void!
I don't know if there is a status code 1.
In other words: everything is as it should be, but you'll never get your warranty back.

If it's still locked, do you mind keeping it that way for just a little bit? It's possible we can figure out how to re-lock if we can get a bootloader dump. It's also possible that unlocking your bootloader will report to ASUS that it's been unlocked and it will void the warranty even if we can figure out how to lock it back up.
Maybe try this tool: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ma.wanam.partitions
And then report to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-2-laser/general/ze600kl-official-bootloader-unlock-t3273263

How to downgrade Zenfone 3 from Nougat to Marshmallow?

I'm facing a lot of bugs in Nougat especially late touch responses in certain apps. I wish to downgrade back to Marshmallow but is that possible without unlocking the bootloader?

Hello, I found no way to downgrade. The firmware available on the asus site does not allow downgrade, at least through stock recovery

There is but it can seriously mess your phone. Apps such as kingroot can root your device without having you to unlock the phone but these apps have a bad reputation. So recommend to root by classical method.

Either way you will lose warranty. Using kingroot etc will void your warranty.
Only software warranty will be void not hardware.

No. You won't be able to update via ota (over the air) nor you will be able to update via Update.APP. However you can flash update.zip via twrp. You can find it on xda. It will erase your data though.

Don't relock bootloader with MM ROM.
(if you already have N firmware, right now)
After flashing MM, you will receive OTA for N, and it will brick your device.
Do it with latest N september patch (available in guide section)

You can, but you need to remember that "don't take OTA in future, never tap update notification"
Also if you sell or give your phone to someone else, give them latest N.

Yes, fastboot commands are same.
hi! i know this is something irrelevant but since this is related to bootloader unlocking,i wanted to question that if i wanted to relock my bootloader which was on the sept 01 patch when unlocked;would i have to flash the same build from the fastboot again to relock it?and will it be safe to install ota updates after relocking the bootloader and reverting to the stock rom?

Only for taking OTA, locked bootloader is not necessary, you can take OTA with unlocked bootloader too.
things to take care of,
don't flash older firmwares than you have at the moment,
As you have september patch, flash september (while relocking too), don't downgrade.
If you downgrade, then don't take OTA. Warned..

My bad!
GPT and bootloader won't get flashed if you downgrade, it will fail, you can't flash older versions.
I don't know if it's possible to lock without flashing them, You can try flashing without GPT and Bootloader.
Just a suggestion! You don't need to flash the firmware again, if you are already on it. For eg, If you are already on Sept patch and want to relock, you don't need to flash the ROM again to relock it. Just use the fastboot commands.
I would recommend to leave it unlocked, because if anything went wrong with your device, atleast you will be able to save the data of internal memory atleast!
