Bluetooth Media Audio Sync - Samsung Galaxy Note FE Questions & Answers

On the S8+ I had this feature which when activated would enable my QC35 headphones to control the phone volume. The option was accessed via the 3 dots menu in Bluetooth settings. The Note FE doesn't seem to have this feature, a Google search suggests it is a stock Android feature since marshmallow release. Any one know if there is a way to get it on the FE?

Notification Sound only over BT

I know this seems to be an old (Samsung) problem, but is there any way to force the system to play notification sound only over BT when a BT audio device is connected?
I found suggestions to mute the device but neither vibration nor mute helps because then no sound is played over BT. Some suggest apps like Bluetooth Auto Connect, but either I am to dumb to configure it that way or it is not working for anyone.
And I noticed that shifting audio focus seems to be quite slow, at least on my G2 it felt way faster (could be because of settings in Poweramp for audio shifting on notifications?). Thanks in advance.
Device: SM-N910F
Baseband Version: N910FXXS1COK1 (should be the latest, is the closed pendant to stock androids software version)
Not rooted yet, but root and XPosed should be running by the end of the week if that helps solving the problem.
In the past I have used the SoundAbout app for just this purpose - routing Notification sounds, Ringtones and even Media audio to my Bluetooth headset when it's connected. There is a free and a paid-for Pro version:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.woodslink.android.wiredheadphoneroutingfix
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.woodslink.android.wiredheadphoneroutingfix.pro
Lots of options and settings to tweak - very flexible app, and the only one of its kind, if I'm not mistaken.
And how did you configured it to work ? I think I have configured it right but keep getting both sounds.
I don't have it installed at the moment as I no longer need this feature, but I was able to tell it to route all Notification sounds to the Bluetooth headset under "Alert Behavior" and "Bluetooth Behavior" and then choose what you want in there. It is definitely possible to do what you want with this app, and you can have separate routing settings for Media, Phone Call, and Notifications. If you don't like the persistent notification in your status bar, you can choose "SoundAbout Service ON - No Status".
Ok, found why it was not working: in changelog there is written you have to restart it after installation. So it's working now.
Thnaks for the quick help
That's great! Glad to hear it

Need help solving audio over bluetooth issue

Did a search and couldn't find anything related to my problem.
I have recently gotten a SM-G950U1 variant of the S8, everything is working fine except for when the phone is connected to bluetooth. On bluetooth, all audio plays over the call channel versus the media channel. I've tried on two different cars and a JBL speaker, all with the same result. Turning off wifi calling helps this only slightly, as the audio is still muffled sounding unless I disable the "Call Audio" switch in each specific connection in the bluetooth settings. Obviously, ticking this switch off for the speaker isn't really an issue, but leaving it off for the car connections is a significant setback.
I'm just coming from an S6 that was on 7.0 that didn't have this issue. The phone is not rooted and I don't have a smart watch or anything like that. I did boot into safe mode and I think the issue was cleared up there, but was still active on my phone when I booted back to normal, with all of the accessibility options and permissions reset as a result. But other than the Samsung Sound Assistant app --which I deleted to see if it was the cause (it wasn't) -- I don't have anything that would change the way default audio functions would work, and I can't think of any specific app I have or a setting I may have ticked that would've caused this.
Have you tried using seperate audio settings? I think it might help...

[Q] 8.1 - bluetooth through external device with notification sound through phone

Hi, is there a way that when we are connected to a bluetooth device, music through speakers, to have the notification sounds to play through the phone so it doesn't interrupt the music? On the galaxy S8/9 there is an option for this called Separate App Sounds: http://www.samsung.com/au/support/mobile-devices/galaxy-s8-what-is-the-separate-app-sound-feature/
EDIT: I've read and it seems it's a new option that's made available due to bluetooth version 5.0, but so far only implemented by samsung. is there an alternative for general android? It
doesn't seem limited to only bluetooth 5.0 or samsung because right now you can stream music through bluetooth speakers while also taking a call on the phone's device.
I'm on carbon rom cr-6.1 (orea 8.1 build). Thanks.

Bluetooth connection

Hello everyone. I am enjoying my s10+. I don't have any issues with it except for one. I can't get Bluetooth audio to activate on my jvc double din in my car. The model is kw-340bt. On my pixel 3 xl it works with no problem. My s10+ can connect to the unit but it only lets me make phone calls. When I go to it in Bluetooth settings the audio option is off. When I try to turn it on it attempts to turn on then turns off. It will not come on. I have even reset my unit to factory settings and still the same thing happens. Does anyone have any other options I can try?
Yeah I'm having trouble myself with my ps4 controller, it connects but doesnt do anything! And even if I turn off the bluetooth it doesnt disconnect! What hell Samsung. It's so bad I have to force close / clear and data/ cache on bluetooth system app.
This happened to someone I knew when they used smart switch upgrading from their S5 to the S8+and moved over their settings. Unfortunately a factory reset was all they could find to fix it.
This may sound weird but I had problems getting my TV to connect. I had to go through the new Smartthings app, look for nearby devices. When I tapped on the TV it downloaded something and then I could connect.
Audio track data not updating on Bluetooth car audio head unit
Same. My previous phone (LG V20) was a breeze to connect via Bluetooth to car audio (Subaru Impreza MY15) & happily displayed the track information for my audio collection.
Fast forward to the new S10+ (exynos) & while it connects for audio, track information is only displayed for the first track & remains on-screen without change.
I've gone into developer options, and while I can change the Bluetooth AVRCP Versions from AVRCP 1.3, AVRCP 1.4 (default), AVRCP 1.5 & AVRCP 1.6, the Bluetooth Audio Codec Selection always defaults back to SBC.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Better yet, does anyone have a fix that I could apply???

Click to collapse
Every phone that I have ever had always goes back to default with the audio options. I never understood why. They give you options but you can't use the options. Makes no sense.

Music share to work on non Samsung devices

In stock there's a feature called music share, you can connect the tablet to Bluetooth speakers(including headphones) and a device with the same feature can connect to the speaker VIA the tablet, effectivity allowing multipoint on speakers that don't support it, you can play music on one device or the other without disconnecting anything.
What can we do to enable this feature on non Samsung devices?
Thanks in advance.
