Curious about hardware, example storage using 2.0 or 2.1? - Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 Questions & Answers

Given the price/performance, it's very attractive but what's the catch?
I notice they are not using gorilla glass so it might cheaper using ordinary glass?
Huawei previously using mix storage type, 2.1 and 2.0 if not mistaken, din really follow up.
If anyone already own max pro m1, can share SS of it's hardware?
I'm curious to know

The phone is not yet released. So it wouldn't be a good idea to search for it here. You should consult some YouTubers who has some review units with them now.

The new version of the 10.1 is the only one to have a WiFi only release date, that's for the US only on June 8th, no other announcement for other markets.
The 8.9 is announced for the US only at this time, with a release date of "early this summer".

But it will also arrive with an ASUS UI
Further details in terms of Android 3.0 include that it will be sporting the Asus Waveshare user interface, which is described as being a launcher that “allows users to easily launch software, manage content and access online services and connect devices with a few simple taps, while ASUS’ Waveshare Interface hosts a variety of unique applications such as MyNet, MyLibrary, MyCloud and more.” And for those wondering, the Asus Eee Pad Transformer will arrive with support for Adobe Flash Player 10.2.

Wrt the Asus, I'm afraid I have jumped shipped and am now probably going for the Asus now as long as the build quality is there, which early reviews are suggesting they are.
I guess it just boils down to personal choice really... Personally i dont mind the 1mm difference and the slight weight increase, the trade off is better specs compared to the thinner model
I've already registered my interest for it - just gotta wait now til Vodafone get back to either me or the public with pricing and tariffs etc and will make a better judgement call then

What better specs? They're basically the same except for the weight, ports, and mysterious 'Super PLS Display'.
Well personally the better camera, slightly thicker profile and stock Android rather than the horrid TouchWiz UI (Thank you Galaxy S i9000) were the dealbreakers... Plus its on Vodafone, which for 3G coverage is amongst the best

What is the 'best/most stable WiFi' Android Stick out there?

To start out, I just purchased a beautiful 60" Panasonic Viera Plasma for $699.99. It has no SmartTV functionality so I thought I would give Google a search about how to bypass this issue. Well, surely enough Android sticks popped up left and right. After seeing a bit of the same sticks over and over, I became familiar with some popular sticks such as the MK808, MK809, iMito MX1, iMito MX2, etc. etc. Now my concern is that which of ALL the Android sticks have the best stability in terms of WiFi. I've seen a lot of posts all around forums and other websites about WiFi not working after a week or a month or that the Android Stick is not capable of streaming videos all day. Which brings up my point of which stick/box should I settle with? I prefer something under $100 but if it means Toyota reliability and that stick/box is over $100, then I'll take it. I am only buying this stick because my mom loves to watch Asian dramas on her iPad but she has no idea how to use a computer (she's 65 this year) so this will be her first step of using something a bit more complex vs. her current iPad.
I was going to settle for the iMito MX2 but I thought posting a thread and letting the experts decide which would be a better suit for me would be ideal.

I agree with the above even though I don't own the device. I have an MK808 and wifi had 1-2 bars when in the same room as my router.
Wifi mods are super easy to do if your creative... but out of the box I heard the box above is more at the top end of these sticks.
The MX series (1 and 2) are good too. The MK808 seems the fastest but definitely has its wifi issues out of the box. I believe they have a 3rd revision that corrects some of the wifi problems but still runs on the weak side.
Make note that the above is an android box and not a stick.

Okay, so that's the most stable Android box? What about the Zealz GK802? That goes for the same price but it is a QUAD core vs. the Minix Neo X5's dual core. Plus what's the main differences between a box and stick other than the form factor?

Zealz GK802 is badly supported with the current Firmeware - there is a new FW expected to be published by end of February. Currently I would not recommend to buy the GK802. I do have a GK802 and a MK808 - I'm using the MK808... and waiting for the next FW for the Zeals and I'll give it another try.

bought a $35 UG802 from Amazon 2 weeks ago. Wifi was awful. Opened it up and saw a nice WIFI antenna in there trapped in the case. made a small hole in the case to allow the cable and Antenna to be outside and WOW. I now get 5 bars and my download on speedtest.net went from 3.5mbps to 28mbps (out of a 33max possible).

Well it's still under a year away, so specs are probably not final, + I honestly think 4gb of ram would be probably be the most during that time. The processer, as specified, would be one of the strongest during that time. The camera is only 8 megapixel with low light. The resolution is sadly only 720p (over 300ppi atleast) but the screen is scratch resistant, or so the video says.

I would have bought two last night, but I held my missus s3 for five minutes, thought about my life, my needs for May '14, looked back at how tiny, tiny her screen is and remembered how even smaller the Edge is, and finally thought, no chance.
Def. Worth more than the $600 /£400 price tag available yesterday - great fleabay item, if I hadn't just bought a pool table I'd have made the investment.

You guys get it wrong. This is not yet another Android smartphone competitor.
This is an Ubuntu PC that also runs Android.
I'm sure everything will be open source, unlike Samsung and HTC. So I think it'll be fully compatible with CyanogenMod.
I've taken a punt on it - not convinced they will meet their $32million target but they will get close. I know 14 may is a long way away but it will probably beat htc and Samsung to the market.
Wouldn't be surprised if its htc they have lined up to make it for them.
Htc did a good job on the x1 for sony - then put it in a different package and called it a touch pro. Same with google nexus and the desire.
Wouldn't be surprised if the ubuntu edge is just next years flagship htc in different clothing.

Just because I think something doesn't make it right. And just because someone else thinks something else on the same issue does not make them wrong. These are known as "opinions" and everyone is entitled to their own. You need to respect other's opinion, bashing it down with rhetorical posts is not the way to go.

Dell Venue 11 Pro vs HP Omni 10 tablet

Hello,
Does anybody have any input or on hand use of each tablet to make a fair comparison or opinions?
Thanks.
Well, I'm asking the same question, it's hard to say...
Same processor, memory et resolution, battery life...
But the venue 11 pro has bigger screen (10'8 vs 10'1), SSD (64gb vs 32), NFC and better accessories (but expensive...)
In France, the HP Omni is $100 less than the Venue...I don't know wich one to choose either
I'm going to check the HP in a store, it's available since yesterday...Maybe I'll come back with it
please report here your impressions about omni 10 if you can see in store...i preordered on amazon.it (399 euro) but i'm not sure if buy this or the asus t100. BTW both are not available in italy at now (as the venue 11)
So I saw the HP Omni 10 and it looks good, looks solid.
Everything looked smooth. the 2gb memory worries me a little but even the Venue has only 2gb...
The screen brightness was at the max and it doesn't felt that way... maybe the store was super bright, it don't know...not a big deal I guess...
I will go back this afternoon and buy it...
In France the Venue is actually around 600 euros with taxes and shipping...The Omni is 400 euros...so I've made my choice...
I think at this price you can't have better... the T100 does have a keyboard but looks much cheaper and the omni has a better processor and is full hd (1920/1200 actually) !
My only concern will be to find a decent cover/case with - if possible - a keyboard...the galaxy note 10.1 has similar build maybe it can work with its accessories...
how do you feel the screen comparing to other tablets (color, brightness)? i.e. micosoft surface or ipad? what about viewing angles and the matt finish?
wiewing angles are good, it's no retina but it's good. I'm not blown away but it's good (for the price)
venue 11, omini 10 and T100 are good value but looks crap .Nokia 2520 and surface 2 looks awesome but runs a crap os.

Oh man. Thanks. All I did is reply with quote and that's what it linked
I've had the omni10 for a couple days now. I am enjoying it. I am coming from a surface rt.
Screen - Crisp and bright. I have no complaints other than blacks could be darker but its not amoled so my expectations are just off I guess. Viewing angles are nice. Not the best ever but colors don't get washed out. The issue is the reflections on the screen if in a bright room. There is no light creeping from the corners of the screen like the surface rt.
Memory - I've had no issue. I have run mail, calendar, games in the background, had a vpn running and Firefox with multiple tabs without issue.
Weight and feel - its a soft plastic, similar to venue pro 8 but without the pattern. It does not collect fingerprints and feels good, not slippery which is good for a tablet. I picked up my iPad and weight is comparable when in the smart case. Maybe Omni is a little lighter and thinner (when iPad is in the case).
Touch is responsive. It might be useful to get a stylus though. Working in desktop mode with touch sometimes registers incorrect touches or you have to touch multiple times. Ive only noticed this in desktop mode.
Speed - its zippy when opening apps. Night and day from coming from a surface rt. It takes a while to install non metro apps though. I think this has something to do with the hard drive.
Bonus - I really like that HP put the recovery on an 8gb flash drive. It leaves you with space and removes you having to manually move recovery to your own flash drive like people buying the vp8. I thought it was a thoughtful thing by HP.
Heat - gets a little hot just on the HP logo on the back. Other than that it runs comfortable.
Lastly, I've seen some accessories for the Omni 10. I think there is a case and dock. Both are not as good as other ones for baytrail tablets but I dont mind. I really like this has micro hdmi, micro USB and a power connector. It allows me to use peripherals while charging and connect to my hd monitor without hacking or any problems.

ive been using Wileyfox Swift for some time, im happy with it, it just turns out the CAMERA quality is not so good..
my question is:

could try and see if you can get a samsung s4 mini, like my other phone,
that is 4 inch and quite small, but less ram and storage space and slower CPU.

that samsung s4 mini is compatible with the latest LOS?
i see there are variants of this model, does it matter when buying? a generic one works?
there is no better option for small size like 4-inch size?
