What's wrong if after replacing the whole screen the phone doesn't power up? - LG K8 Questions & Answers

Hi there,
I have the LG K8 2017 dual SIM and after replacing the screen and pressing start I get the "LG powered by Android" message and there it remains forever. Could it be because both cameras are missing? They told me to try with a hard reset but when rebooting after at the end of this process, same outcome (frozen at "LG powered by Android"). To top it all off I don't have access to recovery mode anymore...........
I hope I didn't ruin my new phone and didn't waste the money of the new screen either.......
Thanks in advance,
Carlos.

[Q] [HELP] Bricked SGS4 i9505 ?

Hello guys.
I do have an SGS4 i9505 which runs on CM for more than two years now.
In February 2015, I've installed TWRP 2.8.1.0 then CM12 and the associated GAPPS.
Today, May 20th, I did the update to CM12.1-20150519 from the updater of my phone (Settings, About..., CyanogenMod).
Unfortunately, since then, my phone does not want to boot anymore. It keeps boot looping. I can see the (nice) "Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505" screen but nothing more.
I can access the Download Mode but only for a couple seconds, then the phone shuts down.
I can press the VolDown + Power button to try to access my recovery (TWRP 2.8.1.0 as I previous mentioned). If I do see the same "Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505" screen with the "recovery access" message in blue in the top left corner of the screen, it does not launch it at all...
Have you guys any idea how I could resolve this issue which seems quite fatal ? Is my phone hard bricked ?
[05/21] EDIT : The battery does not seem to charge anymore. No LED noitification, no warm in the back of it.
[05/22] EDIT : The phone can not switch on properly, I have to withdraw then place it back in.
Thanks in advance,
Daga.
No you can relax. It's your power button that is faulty. Either try to wiggle it lose or replace it. It costs around 2 dollar.
I'll try it, thanks.
I did not mention it before (and just edited my first message this way), but I can not start my "phone normally". I hve to withdraw the battery then pu back in to do so.
Thanks again,
Daga.

I put my money on the power button It's a common problem for the s4.
If it were the Power button, would not the battery charge anyway ?
Thanks,
Daga

take the battery out the phone and with your finger, slide across the side of the power button back and forth repeatedly. Pop battery in and see if it boots ?
You bet it good on the Power button !
I used a needle and try to "extract" it. If I did not succeed in it, it made feel my phone way better.
Thanks a lot for the tip. I would not have imagined how a simple Power button could lead to such kind of troubles...
Have a nice week end guys, and thanks again.
Daga.

Galaxy S4-i9505 motherboard problem

Hello, I have a galaxy s4-i9505. While I was using it it got stuck, then grey and black screen appeared and the device turned off. From then it stucks in boot screen. After a lot of effort finally I got it into recovery mode and I hard reset the device. Now sometimes it stucks to the boot logo, or it doesn't open, or after boot logo it has black screen and vibrating forever. Sometimes it gets into the android normally but after 2-3 minutes it stucks, some lines appear in the screen and the phone turns off. In a service shop they told me that there is a problem in the CPU or in the motherboard. They didn't know exactly. I checked the power button with voltometer and it works good. If it is motherboard problem, and I buy another s4 (for example with broken screen) can I just switch the motherboards?? Do you have any ideas on how to repair the problem or where I can find a cheap motherboard?? Thank you very much!
edit: I am in Greece, the phone is from Germany unlocked.

Thank you very much! They told me from the service shop that the problem is in CPU or in central memory (something like this).
But I have a question, can you tell me how it is possible that when the phone is unscrewed, without the frame, it works normally. It gows into android and everything is ok for 2-3 minutes until it stucks and then restart... How is this possible?? When the phone is screwed again it doesn't work...

[GT-i9500] BOOTLOOP!

Hello
This is my first post here and I'd really appreciate advice in this matter.
I've spent the past couple of hours searching for an answer but nothing works or totally irrelevant results.
I have a problem where I'd rooted my phone with KingRoot, changed it to SuperSU successfully (restarted my phone several times since then and no issues)
I installed TWRP (only the app) from the Google Play store and that's as far as I got before I powered off my phone to cool down before attempting any installation of TWRP. Powered on my phone and I can't get past the Samsung logo.
Recovery won't come up, Download mode works but restarts itself and volume buttons do nothing to let me confirm download mode and so it's sending me in a loop. Samsung logo and restart again and again. I insert my battery and the first thing that happens is my phone goes on a mission, determined to power itself on only to Bootloop.
No, before anyone suggests it be a hardware issue, it's a brand new phone. There's nothing wrong with the buttons.
If anyone is going to point out the obvious in saying that I'm responsible for rooting my device, I'm aware of this. The rooting procedure was a one-click method which was successful and caused no boot issues after restarting the phone countless times.
Basically:
Bootloop
Can't access recovery
Can't get to Download mode without it getting back into the bootloop after 5 seconds or so. Volume buttons do nothing to confirm download mode.
USB debugging wasn't enabled before this Bootloop occurred
Do I have a paperweight or is there a way to salvage something from this?
The phone isn't supposed to power itself on after inserting the battery.
This behavior is only acceptable when the phone is plugged in while inserting the battery. But even so, the phone wouldn't try to boot up, it would just display the charging animation.
i had a similar problem where my phone would boot up to the white samsung logo as soon as i insert my battery. tirned out the power button was stuck. try gently knocking the power button onto the corner of a table or something with the battery pulled out. it might work for you if your problem is what i think it is.

Thank you for your response but would you like a video to prove that it is in fact attempting to boot up when inserting the battery?

I tested it on my device (I9505) and it doesn't boot up, it just turns on to display the charging animation. If I want it to boot up I have to hold the power button.
So, in conclusion, it must be your power button.
You can say the phone is new as much as you want, but there is a chance it came with a factory defect.
There might also be a possibility it is refurbished phone, which means it is pseudo-new.

D802 screen not showing anything

Hello, I have D802 16gb phone and just started acting very wierd.... Firstly I do not drop it or drop to water or so ever, I protecting my phones. So, one day screen just go black, like went to sleep but blacklight working I can see, but nothing showing up, when touching I can hear touch sounds its like screen started not working or disconnected something. After a little time its started show again but after a few minutes of useage again screen went black, again backlight was working... So done hardreset, then tried unbricking it with flash tools and ksz files. But even when I power up phone, sometimes I can see LG logo, sometimes I cant, it booted after setup and I can hear with beeps of touch thats it gives me first time setup... I have another LG G2, so I know where to press, but nothing appears, just black screen with backlight... any solutions? I can try dissasemble phone if anyone can lead me through what to look for :/
I tried little bit dissasembly, reconnected displays connectors but no luck I cant believe that screen can just die on useage...
intresting thing... when I press vol Down and power button I got LG logo, but then nothing, just going straight to booting... Cant even go to do hard reset...

Can you get into downloa mode . VOL UP and connect usb cable.
I think so, because I tried reflash stock from ksz file with flashtool. Flash OK boots to first user setup but no image, just backlight... Tried holding very long power button or cleaning connector , just googled it, but no luck... now sometime with voldown and powerbutton holding I can get LG logo first, but then nothing, but it also does not appear everytime.... its like I have to wait some time when phone turned off to see at least LG logo :/

Samsung S4 stuck on first logo screen

I only use my S4 to listen to Spotify and Podcast, no other apps are present. I use it until I the replacement Headphone thingy comes for my Nexus 5x.
It's my old phone and it worked great until yesterday when my screen went completely pink and then my phone restarted. Now it's stuck on the first logo screen.
Not the Samsung animated logo screen, but the very first completely white text Samsung Galaxy S4 logo, I can't post pictures.
I am using a Cyanogenmod Rom because of the memory leak bug on stock rom.
I can't boot to recovery because it just boots for few seconds, then shuts off, vibrates 2 times and goes back into the boot screen where it's stuck.
The vibration thing happens everytime I try to boot the phone. The logo comes up, it shuts down, vibrates twice and then it gets stuck on the logo indefinitely.
I can boot to Download Mode and I can't boot to Safe Mode.
Any ideas what I could do? I really want to listen to stuff again.
Could be a power button issue. Open the phone, clean the power button contacts with a bit of pure alcohol, quickly press and release the power button several times in a row using a bit more pressure than usual, reassemble the phone, and see if it works.

It's still stuck the same way.
When I got to the Recovery Screen once, the screen turned yellow and phone restarted.
The power button may need to be replaced. Do you have a multimeter to test the connections?
@audit13: I've got a feeling the power button isn't his issue. On a properly working S4 the screen wouldn't flash a particular color before rebooting. Given that this happened to him suddenly, I think he has an issue with the SoC itself.

I have a almost dead S4 i9515 model here, it stopped working.
Here at home I plugged it in and it vibrated continue and nothing more.
Tried a couple of times to go to recovery (unrooted, so the standard recovery) and one time I got a Samsung logo with something blue in the top left side of the screen and nothing else.
Cleaned the power button and started the phone and got the Samsung boot logo, but it got stuck in the logo loop.
How can I check the power button with a multimeter? Is there a trick to get to the connectors?
You need to remove the back frame to access the power button connectors. There should be there of them. Without the power button pressed, touch the probe across the outer two and see if there is any current being passed.

Will try it this weekend, if it is the button I will just take it out, and try it that way till I get a new button.
Thanks for the tip!
Well, the button was not the problem, see next post
While starting it won't pass the Samsung logo boot,
while starting via recovery (power, home vol-up) I still won't pass the Samsung logo screen, but now with the message in the top left screen 'Recovery Booting...'
It's dead I believe, the power button is okay, but after a few difficult boots, it wouldn't pass the Samsung logo.
But now it doesn't respond at all anymore.
Is there a way to access this phone?
Via adb or Odin? I don't think so, if the phone doesn't startup I can't do anything...?
It is bye S4 I guess...
I am blocked here too with a GT-I9506, and can't fin anything, so yeah, i guess it's dead, mine too
Time for something new...
Anyone managed to revive his I9506? I have similar problem, if you can guys look into it and tell me that you have tried this already:

I think it will be the best way. It's third day of flashing stock firmware from 4.3 to 5.0.1 NEE an TPL. There ware two times that phone actually booted to recovery and green android appeared. But then phone rebooted and still can't get up.
