PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE USING THE RIGHT VERSION FOR YOUR DEVICE / ANDROID OS VERSION AND VARIANT
ABOUT THE PROJECTStarted on the Nexus 6, Years ago is the Patch the Result of evolving custom ROMs to something more. Instead of uploading My Changes combined with a OS, is the POM just delivering the wanted Edits. It can be applied on top of any OS, and makes Android Updates independently from My Work. The latest and already 5th Revision of the POM is called Snappatch, and made for Snapdragon Xperia Devices running the very latest AOSP Systems. Coming with a huge amount of exclusive Configs and Optimizations is the Patch unleashing Your Device on a unexpected Way. You will raise the Performance, Efficiency, and Quality of the whole System, besides adding Features and Services which are not available on unpatched AOSP ROMs. The POM comes also with a Rooting Solution, Busybox and the full set of needed GApps to provide a great Pixel like Experience with the barely minimum of needed Apps out of the Box. Based on 8 Years of research and testing, made with Passion! The Snappatch sets Quality over Quantity...
Already adapted by Others for Stock Firmwares is the Snappatch still the first and Original Patch System. You will face it all over XDA in the next Years! Be Part of the Patch Revolution, get Patched!

Ubuntu font and Audio enhancements were awesome. I am going to miss them. Ubuntu font was working fine even in my car infotainment system when using Android Auto link. Are you going to release the removed patches as a separate patch?
Will it still be compatible with other non Sony devices such as the ZTE Axon 7 ?

Great to see You here! So since AROMA is removed and some ROMs and Apps are delivering a Font Changer have i just removed it for now (I still use the Font here with the Carbon ROM on the XZP). The Audio System will be redone a bit to work better with Xperias and less dependencies. Think i will add it back in some Weeks. Same for AROMA. Since it's buggy as Hell (3.0 is a Beta since 2015), and totally fails on the XZ Premium TWRP am i still looking around for a fix. Hopefully am i soon able to add it back, and with it comes another rework of it (Better Structures, Texts etc.).
And Your last Question. Yes, it will still work on the Axon 7 and other Devices. But there is One Thing i already discovered, the new Camera Configs are destroying the Camera Previews on Apps like Open Camera. It shows just some green Fields and may also have Problems on recording. Only way around it would be to remove all Lines containing the word "Camera" in the Snap Prop File. Unfortunately will it not be possible to inject Custom Props while installing since AROMA isn't included anymore, means You need to extract the File out of the ZIP and Copy it back after Editing (Or repacking the ZIP). Wish i could handle that somehow else, but like said, no AROMA no Options :/
Let Me know how it goes and what You think! Will do my best to help out!
EDIT: Default DPI is now 400, may be a bit small on the Axon 7 Think i will at least share a working Prop for non Xperia Devices in the next Days. Should be easy to handle that with Updates since i know what's needed to be changed and removed. Hope that Helps a bit...

Is it possible someone could link a video of this working please? Really interested in this and it may be what stops me from selling my xzp. Would really like to see if the camera is improved as its really not that good compared to others, that's the main reason I'm thinking of selling it. Thanks for all the hard work too

@Miustone
YOU ARE A GENIUS :cyclops:
Installed last Carbon and your patch without issues. My XZP is like having a new life now
Thanks a lot :good::good::good:

I'm waiting for reviews, bcs I think lossing warranty right now is not my opinion. If anyone can tell a little bit about battery life on custom roms, camera distortion and etc, I would be very thankful.

I just tried flashing this along with the Carbon (lastest file) all I get is stuck at the Sony screen.

Works great. Camera quality still isn't up to stock, but it's noticeably better. Can't speak too much for audio, since I use viper anyways, but there's no distortion. Phone is running very smooth and cool. G8142 running carbonrom btw.

Well, i would keep the XZP. The Camera is better as on other Devices (ZTE, Xiaomi, One Plus, Essential, Wiko etc.) after patching AOSP. The only better working Camera i know will You find on HTC, or Samsung, but Samsung is out of the Race since they force Snapdragons to be not unloackable and Exynos without Sources for AOSP. After using a Nexus, a LG and a ZTE Device do i stick for the next Years with SONY again. They publish great Sources and Tutorials and are just delivering great Support for all kind of Android Stuff. That's also why i think that AOSP is better than Stock...

Which Warranty? Software Warranty? You will just loose the free Service of unbricking Your Software on the Device after unlocking. 99% of the Hardware Damages will be still covered (Like failing Materials, Buttons, Ports etc.). Software Warranty is really something for People outside of XDA. As long as You have a PC, a unlocked Bootloader and Firmware is there almost no chance of turning Your Device into a Brick... Just saying, i buyed My Device just some Days ago and i haven't waited a single Minute to unlock it (Since SONY has fixed all the old Xperia Device Problems like non working Camera on AOSP, washed out Display Colors and all that). Doesn't regret it! The only real disadvantage could be that it will be hard to sell Your SONY after unlocking. But if You want to keep it forever...

Hard to compare, Camera2 API and RAW alone should be worth the Switch. I also think that there is more possible in the Future once the right Configs are found (Picture Quality). Unlimited 4K recording on higher Bitrates and Framerates besides less heat from the Recording is also good to have (And should look better than on Stock). And great to hear You noticed the Performance. One of the Reasons for loving AOSP on My XZP is the fact that we don't need or have the Stamina Mode. I faced heavy Lags with Stamina besides Graphical Glitches and incredible Heat (Not matter if On or Off). Not to compare with how it is now. I played Shadowgun Legends for around a Hour and the Device was just not Hot. Same Settings on Stock caused crazy Heat and Lags after some Minutes. It's really a difference like Day and Night. Sadly does it looks like that the Carbon ROM has not the best System Animations which kills a bit the UI Smoothness. Would really love to see more AOSP ROM's to have the Choice... Maybe do i start a own One in the next Time, let's see..

No sorry, added a List of supported Devices to the First Post now

Updated the Thread and started working on the next Version! AROMA is still not usable without a correctly working TWRP Recovery. Really sad about this. Maybe is someone willed to help out with this? (Fixing TWRP on Xperias)

Optimized Face Detection Feature
Added back Audio Libraries / Configs

Added more Pixel Content
Added “Now Playing” Pixel Feature
Added more background Services
Added more Service dependencies
There are awesome Things coming with the next Release! Stay tuned
I caused Bootloops, mailfunctions and flashed My XZP 100 Times to come to this Point. 7 Hours of Work, and the Camera Bugs around again... I'm done for now! Good Night Folks (03:30 AM here)!

Can You explain that a bit more?
Haven't slept a Minute since Yesterday. Camera is working again but it needs still further finetuning to get even better Quality. Same for the main Audio. The Microphones are working fast and precisely, but the Output could be better. Still a upgrade compared to 18413 but i will put more work into that...
Besides that are there some nice new Features coming. Including VR Support (With Apps and Options), some more Pixel Stuff (Sounds, Configs, Services) and better Display output (Colors are more natural + better HDR Playback). I merged a lot of content from the Pixel 2 XL and updated some HTC Things and it was really worth the Time...
I never got My SONY Nexus, but this is even better since we can enjoy the full AOSP goodness with all this nice extra Features.
Really happy with My decision to go back to SONY. The next Level will be a own AOSP based OS from Me. Planning this for a long Time but SONY is finally a good Base to start with (Easy like with Google Devices)...
Enough for now, i'm really tired :silly:
Soon back with more goodness! Keep an Eye on the Changelog to stay up to date!

Okay, this is a bit of script that is a revised version of Killjoy using some input from Supremacy along with anything else shiny that I had to pick up..
-This cannot be used with any other tweak/mod of this nature
-This should only be flashed on a clean install of a rom (minus any mods/tweaks)
-This modifies your build.prop (any other mods may cause undesired effects)
-I suggest rebooting after installation and entering codes into the terminal emulator
-If coming from the original Killjoy or one of my versions, do an uninstall of previous version before installing
Use the Operation Killjoy thread to turn on/ off features as the rest of the modified script works without terminal commands..
THIS IS NOT MY WORK
DO NOT COMPLAIN TO THE ORIGINAL DEVELOPERS WITH ISSUES AS THIS IS A MODIFICATION OF THEIR ORIGINAL DESIGN
DO NOT USE THIS TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD (unless I get free cookies)
I do not take responsibility in any issues you or your phone have before or after flashing, nor for world hunger..
FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK!!

All rom's are great, but for different reasons.. I would hope that the comparison doesn't diminish from the developers work, but allow for a better idea of what a rom offers.
Which is the best DPI value in your opinion? Slim for example uses very low DPI value but it is still nice. What is the advantages and the disadvantages of using low DPI?

I use the stock 240 that most custom rom's use, other than issues with apps in the Playstore, I see no advantage nor disadvantage to dpi. It is helpful to lower it if you like having dual panels, but I like to be able to read the already small text on my screen and with my aging eyes there is no need to make it smaller..

Your (or anyone's) ROM review cannot be the absolute truth.
Truth #1: Custom ROM performance, stability, and overall smoothness are highly dependent on how a person prefers to use his particular device on a day-to-day basis.
Truth #2: The stability of a Custom ROM is entirely based on how a person uses the rom's features & system apps, and what kind of 3rd party apps s/he installs and uses the most. Apps found in the google playstore are mainly optimized for Official Android ROM's stability.
To further give users basis on how you do your rom reviews/guides:
1. What apps did you install and uninstall when you flashed the rom?
2. How old is your device?
3. What apps do you use most often? (including system apps)
4. What custom rom features do you use, and how often do you use them?
5. Why won't you use certain features, and what certain features causes instabilities and/or performance drops on certain ROM/s?
6. How long do you test the ROM before you make a conclusion with regards to its speed, smoothness, features, stability, and battery life?
You are not obliged to answer. This is your thread after all
ps. Mirage rom is created by des-franco. People might confuse this with franciscofranco.

"YOU WANT THE TRUTH,.. YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH"... I may be too old for everyone to catch that reference..?
Phew, you made a list..
1. I let Google auto-update my rom(s) with my 100+ apps (too many to list)
2. My device is roughly 2 yrs old (but don't tell it how old it is, it's sensitive)
3. I use FB, Gmail, Yahoo, XDA, Youtube, ect... Some minor games and french lessons (as I should be practicing that instead of this... lol)
4. I use all of them to test, but I don't use most of them as daily drivers as I have no use in some of the features..
5. I think that certain features like Xposed framework and PA settings rob performance and are unstable.. I also don't like to run overclocked. Some rom's/ kernels can handle these features, but I find them pointless.
6. Two battery cycles.. The first is to install/test if it will be buggy, the other is to see how well it holds up to my normal day to day..
And I admit that my reviews are based on one phone (as all phones can vary) and personal usage that is subject to bias and change..

SlimBean 3.1, HellyBean, CM 10 (which you already have), and other popular ones. Particularly because I am trying to find a good 4.1.2 ROM that is smooth and has great battery life. Currently on Slimbean with marmite, and I'm not liking the battery life (Usually get around 20% screen time usage which is on for 1-1.5 hours only)
Edit: SlimBean 3.1 - it is PACKED with features, 10/10 on that (I have everything I could possibly want). Performance is really great too, little lag sometimes only. The only downside is the battery life as I stated above.
just to say that with my device and with my user experience on the roms you've tested: i agree with a lot of what you say in your rom guide!
nice work!

I ran Hellybean 4.1.2 for about two weeks and it was great, I did change kernels on it and increased battery life immensely.. Have you tried the newest Marmite with your Slim rom, it should be compatible and would help your battery life.. Also try Greenify and hibernate all your apps minus the launcher and greenify itself.. you will see an improvement.. I also would suggest to limit the apps that want to auto sync and shut down google maps unless you are using it..
Hey setting out, I'm pretty sure that rasbean jelly is 4.2.2 now. Rusty
Jay has been updating it recently
much needed thread
thank you very much OP
this is a much needed thread. i think all devices should have a thread like this.
its very useful to people new to a certain device and to those like me who dont have the time to test all roms available.
i have tested slim and thinkbridge extensively and gamerz, cm, xylon only for short time. settled with slim because it had best battery life in my device and was devoid of unnecessary stuff i wouldnt use.
i think you can expand your comparison to include some prominent/differentiating/special feature of each rom. it would be easier for the readers to get better idea about which rom would fit his/hers needs. for example, i like slim because,
1. i like the "dark slim"
2. it doesnt have all the wall papers or live wall papers that i wouldnt have used anyway, thus, freeing more memory.
thanks. keep up the good work.

Still alive?
Just to not let this post die, I like pretty much Stock
Besides, every ROM have different things, and depends on the users to catch'em all! (Wild Pokémon theme song suddently appears)
I think that you'll have to compromise on battery and performance with this phone. It's hard to have both performing well. I will only run stock based roms because they offer the best compromise. Lexodus rom with Stellar kernel along with Xposed and Greenify gave me the best all around. Lexodus and Stellar alone made the phone scream but did hurt the battery performance a little.

I find Minimal OS very stable and smooth. I have been using it around 20 days and observed no FCs as of yet. Battery backup is very good. In addition, I manually set CPU governors to improve the backup. I don't play much of games, but Hay day runs very smooth on this ROM, just the way it runs on stock. Talking about customizations, this ROM supports Layers, hence you can download the Layers themes from play store and customize the ROM.

Yes I'm also using that one and I like it so far. Haven't tried any other than stock rom though. It got all the additions I need to be happy. Except vibration adjustments.
Ps.: When I change dpi setting to a lower dpi, the font and everything gets smaller. Which confuses my brain . I mean, shouldnt lower dpi mean lower resolution therefore bigger font etc.?

You could try sokp, its a very stable rom with tons of features and customisation options while stille being smooth. Battery backup is not the best but i get through my day with regular use. Since its aosp you can flash custom kernels made for cm12.1 and aosp. But in my experience it slowed my device down so yeah... Atm it has no xposed compatebility because it has an heavily customized ART, plus its based on android 5.1.1r10 i believe. Extra features are multi window and slim recents and a lot more. I'm realy pleased with it but it may or may not be for you .
Best of luck,
Bart

I agree with you concerning this ROM overall. I used it for a couple of weeks and was very impressed with it. Compared to a half dozen other ROM'S I have tried it won hands down. However, I ran into a glitch with a critical app upon which I rely for my job and unfortunately I had to go back to AOSP. I doubt that the problem will be resolved since the app is a very specialized app that most users on this site won't ever use.
Given that, I am extremely happy with 5.1.1 AOSP and would give it my number 1 rating. It is stable, smooth, responsive and the battery life a fairly decent.. And ALL of my apps work well with it.

Sure! It's Jobulator, which is a substitute teacher job assignment app. I sub-teach in the local school district and all potential jobs come through that app. It is set to a given interval (by the user) to check for new jobs that teachers have posted. When a job is listed it will give an alert notification and (ideally) I can then accept or reject the job. However with Minimal OS I would get the alarm but only a blank screen, (no "accept/reject" buttons). It took a while to show up since the first two weeks of school I was able to accept on my tablet and desktop (strictly by luck). But in several instances I was away from home. Consequently I was unable to accept some jobs before another sub grabbed them. So I went back to AOSP-luk and have had no issues.
In all honesty, I have never been dissatisfied with AOSP but the fact that Minimal has less bloat appealed to me so I tried it out. I see no difference in performance, battery life or stability with either ROM, just the issue mentioned above makes AOSP the winner for me.

Stock 5.0.2 debolated with xposed. or BlissPOP v4.0
Infinitive OS, excellent performance. Nice battery backup( 2 days of normal use, 4:30 hr of SOT, half WiFi, half 3g, it also sleeps like a baby). Only one bug, sometimes you can't wake up the phone with the block key, not a problem if you choose to wake it up with volume keys and after that block key works again. It just happens randomly.

I tried bliss pop 2-3 weeks ago and it had lots of bugs, I faced frequent FCs under settings, while viewing as well as modifying settings. Also I found battery life pretty average hence I moved away from it.
---------- Post added at 09:35 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:21 AM ----------
I also tried Resurrection Remix. It is loaded with tons of features and customizations. It runs good but I faced some minor glitches randomly, so I would say not as smooth as Cyanogenmod or AOSP. Battery performance is better than stock, close to cyanogenmod, but not as good as AOSP. Plus, on my personal view, I feel that lots of customizations kind of ruined the overall look for the ROM. You can't get the look of stock Android on this ROM. There and bold and italic fonts are used in the ROM which hampers the overall look and visual experience, but this is actually no problem as this ROM supports Cyanogenmod theme engine. Here is the link for the thread for this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/development/rom-resurrection-remix5-5-4-t3181360

1. Stable (8/10)
2. Battery Backup (10/10) (reinstalled just because of the best battery backup)
3. Smoothness (9/10)
4. Performances (9/10)
5. Gamming Experiance (I don't play sorry)
6. Customize Options (10/10 ) (colorful settings menu & lots more)
7. Bugs (Mention if any*) (there were regarding camera but I flashed camera app via zip & the bug got solved)

Best Marshmallow Rom for Nexus 4 - January 2016

Hi guys,
I've been out a lot from the roms community in a while.
I was wondering if you can tell me what are currently the best rom (and key features) out on the market?
I used paranoid, slimrom and currently using euphoria OS.
From my research, both Slim and Euphoria are stuck on lollipop.
Any help?
Best,
FF
One acronym, three words. lol
Next time, read the actual forum you're posting in. Helps everyone out. Elaborating on your question, there is NO best ROM. It's simply an opinionative question, which only you can decide on which one is the best for you.

Try "Pure Nexus Project". IMO it's the best at the moment, it has a s#+t ton of features and it offers a smooth experience overall. Even if it's been "unofficially" brought to our Nexus 4, we get updates weekly, and the maintainer brings a new update 1-2 days after the "official" update has been pushed out. Paired with a good custom kernel, like "Taurus kernel" or "Quanta kernel", it offers the ultimate experience for the Nexus 4. I don't think it can get any better than that.

I do understand there is no best rom.
If you're not here to help, I don't understand why you came here to comment.
I said I wanted to know what were the best roms by personal opinion and which key features were good.
I can do a quick search about roms (I did), I just wanted to have some fellows experience.

I've seen quite a few videos of Nexus pure and I found it really interesting! Thank you for your opinion.
Does franco still makes good kernels? I used to use Hellscore because of the d2w but now every rom has it, I guess.
for me currently stay at BeanStalk
its like CM13 with +++ feature ^^
Smh, dafuq is this post even on android development.

Even if I'm no help, you posted in the Android Development section, so clearly reading is your problem. It also doesn't hurt to try out different ROMs. Of course, it is all about opinion, so others experiences do not matter until you have tried the specific ROM that you might desire.
I too thought same thing as @xWolf13 wrote. But thing is our nXs4 is in EOL line for Development. I have already wasted 50+ hours trying to various ROMS silently without writing anywhere about what's wrong in each. So I share my experience which should be useful to you. I am Long aged Mahdi ROM and Euphoria fan! Till Nov-15 I was happily living on that, but when MM ROMs started for nXs4, I wanted to switch. I started with Chroma Nov-15 built. It was stable and smooth at starting. But things became unstable after a week, even Random reboots started on chroma, ditching whole experience. Yes its my fault that I root and use Xposed, but I did the same on Euphoria this whole years!!! Next to chroma, I started trying, ---Disclaimer: THESE ARE MY PERSONAL OPINION ---
Fake ROM latest Jan version (Very stocked, and simply not Root-enable. I've also wrote steps on How to Root it as simple as possible, in its forum)
Cataclysm for Nexus 4[Dec 21, 2015] (It's beautiful mod, but seriously lags lot of Custom ROM features)
The Pure Nexus Project ★ Layers ★ [04/01/16] (Since its marked Unofficial I never wanted to try. Unofficial builts don't make future supports, but post above convinces me to try it, which I may soon)
Minimal OS for Nexus 4 [2015-12-08] (Not long supported after Dec built)
SAOSP - M [09-12-15] (Not long supported after Dec built)
Screw'd Android - v2.0.1-(Way too bloated)
RR Remix (Features are good, but many reply its too buggy)
**crDroid** release every weekend (Less features for a CM built )
Mokee Open Source Project ( Chinese font everywhere)
BeanStalk 6.05 - 01/08/2016 (Packed full of features and I like 6.05 built. But Me and some other users have reported and suggested things, also Devs actively responds to posts!!)
So now I'm in Fake ROM, rooted. I use Quanto kernel on most ROM for D2W, USB Keyboard support for computers, MultiRom and Exponential brightness and not for Performance/Battery tweaks, which I'm ok with stock-settings of kernels for mako! Now I'm on Fake ROM with Quanto, Xposed+GB has also become laggy at running multiple Background apps. I may soon try Beanstalk once 6.06 is launched with many users commented in thread..
I always look for **0.Least delayed Support for updates as much as possible, even if its yearly twice, its ok!** 1. Network Speed meter, 2.Smart-Pulldown notifications. When No clear-able notifications are shown, pulling extends to QS 3.Custom HTML tags for status bar time

(Isn't this cool, to have identity shown in our device clock???) Optional stuffs I'd love to have: Custom QS images- like in CM13, Beanstalk,;Slim recents with Long press apps to Force close (it was avilable only once a official custom built of euphoria. I still wish Force closing directly from Recents); RAM bar in Recents; Live display temperature as available in CM roms..
Maybe as @xWolf13 says this thread should be moved to General branch, as its on Development which is misleading...
Although this thread does not belong in the development section, it is a really useful thread. Especially for users like OP and myself who don't have time to flash 5 or more ROMs to find a good one. And let's be honest, it's hard to read through all the long posts by the devs. The bugs are rarely mentioned in the first post and you have to read many pages to find issues. Sometimes the changelogs aren't updated either.
This thread should be moved but not deleted. Also, thank you @dragos281993 and @arvindgr for actually being helpful. I always thought "pure nexus project" would be very similar to stock android (since that's what the name suggests). I'll make sure to check it out.

I just flashed Pure Nexus.
I'm not finding it truly amazing in terms of features. Nevertheless, it's really smooth and fast so far.
Do you use something for d2w? My power button isn't that great and the rom only has d2s.
Glad my experience help you! @Sekas I'm long time fan of s2w and since s2w isnt supported much, I always use d2w or dt2w on any ROM. I go by this order to achieve it,
1.Flash ROM and Gapps
2. Flash Quanto kernel
3. Install Kernel Adiutor and if wanted install busybox app
4. Search Wake controls menu, and enable DT2W. Also click Apply on Boot
--If on CM Rom, use CM based kernel then use kernel management app... Hope this helps...
It really helped!
I installed quanto like you said and it is all working well. Nevertheless, i cant get my google calendário to work. It always says 'Google Calendar Storage not activated - Enable in setting'. But when I look for it or press the button to 'Enable in settings' it doesn't go.
I cant find any solution online. Any help?

You should try Chroma custom rom.
I just flashed Pure Nexus. it is very fast and i am so happy..
Hmm, I also tried Pure Nexus but get stuck with Google play service FC on initial setup. Same with Pure Nexus Gapps as with Banks. What am I doing wrong?
Try some roms and choose, they have a lot of customizations and some can work better for you needs.

Granted Mr. Snarky there may be an issue about appropriate Forum to post, but it is painfully obvious that what is being asked can only be someone's opinion, at best. So what are you going on about?
And there is such a thing as best ROM, even if it comes out only as a thought out short list.
As the other Posters have offered their expertise and I have thereby gained knowledge for my own Nexus 4.

Introduction
CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit our Gerrit Code Review. Your changelog is whatever was merged into gerrit.

Edit 2: I flashed op recovery and that gave me error but I reverted back to twrp which I had earlier. After that I successfully flashed the ROM and pico gapps. Booted and them used supersu 2.81 beta which have issue so better stick to either 2.79 if you want or wait for that update. But I wanted magisk so I flashed it and got root too . though safety net checks fails but that doesn't matters me. Right now I am typing this through tegra tab itself and gonna test it fully. WiFi works and other thing I will post after checking... Thanks again.

wow nice
I can't believe I looked just for fun if this xda thread is still alive as I wanted to look for ROM and you upload beta version of CM12 just today? I love you !

how do i do this?
ok ! i do it!
Huh. I thought the device development was dead for sure. I watched the announcement thread about CM 12.1 for quite a while now but stood silent as i was skeptical. because Nvidia's kernel source is a mess for many devs, no custom development existed except the kernel by shaky (which seems to be discontinued by now). So i wasn't sure if you would really be able to have that patience to go through Nvidia's source code. But here you are with the very first custom rom release for this device. Congrats to that ^^
Anyway. Since its still a very fresh custom rom i had some questions about it:
What features does the kernel come with (overclocking cpu/gpu, new cpu governors)? Or is it just stock features implanted for now? (Mabye new stuff in the future?)
How does the rom perform compared to stock in terms of speed (loading times, smoothness etc)? Also what about gaming performance?
What about the features in general?
-nvidia specific features like stylus launcher, selectable part of screen to make a screenshot of with stylus etc
-is hdmi out fully working?
Thanks in advance
One thing I would really like to see is the ability to disable that NVidia PRISM feature that adjusts display contrast to save power but also makes the image look awful most of the time. It's one of the toggles that NV's 5.1 release didn't include.
Here is small review, didn't faced any crashes yet.. smooth and feels of cm12.1 as it is...
I fully charged tab, and kept whole night to see any battery drain and for around 8hr it's reduced from 100% to 96% which is good and much better than stock one.
Camera is good, whats you can expect from this. But there is issue with video, both side front and rear cam video get recorded but unable to play through gallery or xplore app, but they get played via vlc android player.
I checked HDMI , i have converter so I conneted to my fhd tv and it connected at hd configuration of 720p, and also the resolution was miss matched maybe due to 720p but I'm stock it was correct. I hope skoar fix this cause I connect device to tv for playing games... Lol..
Live display works once I switched on GPS. GPS work well too.
Let's see the performance and sot as I used more. I have attached overnight drainage battery status ss.
Sometimes I feels lags or shutter suddenly but for few sec and that too not much frequent.
The stylus works as our normal touching finger ,no extra features like stock one. No complaints though
I haven't added apps yet only greenify and few one. The battery uses is high , hope dev can reduce it cause while writting this i get down to 65% from 71%

You're right about the kernel source it's a big headache. I worked on it for sometime but frustration got the better of me so I extracted the stock boot image and used the zImage as the prebuilt one that way it temporarily solved the kernel problem. So the features are same as stock. I think I might be able to get the kernel to work. I've made considerable progress there. As for the launcher I completely removed it. It was giving force closes and since the stylus is working I don't think it's that necessary. I hope you guys will agree on this one. As for the performance I think it's better than the stock one but at the end of the day the truth is nvidia guys messed up with the lollipop update. They made it a lagging and stuttering ****. Since I'm using their lollipop sources so I inherited some of them. Gamming performance is good for me. When I'll be able to fix kernel sources I'll improve performance and battery backup. The ROM is currently in beta stages so bear with me for now. I hope this answers all of your questions. But for the time being I gotta catch up with studies. Try to get shaky on board for kernel development. He has done it once and hopefully will be able to do it again.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 11 (R), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.

Yup that's what I did
A mini review:
Pros:
1. It is built with latest sources so it has minimal bugs and more number of features.
2. Battery life is bloody spectacular! Better than Stock!
3. It's de-goolaged
4. Very stable, haven't had any force closes or random reboots.
Cons(?) more like Nit- picks
1. The brightness slider is not uniform (particularly in the last section to the right. This is present in other A11 roms as well so maybe related to vendor blobs? idk. Very minor bug.
2. FOD is very fast, but recognition is sometimes inconsistent.
3. The status-bar padding looks terrible (just my opinion).
Mehs:
1. Performance is... average. It's not terrible, but it's nothing special. The UI is responsive but not exactly "fluid". But it's solid and gets the job done.
Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this over stock rom and am sure dev will keep this updated and alive. Thanks for your work dev! We really needed this.

To clarify a little. It should work flashing it over anything A11. I would recommend that you've flashed A11 stock some time in your life. If you haven't do that because I know that works for sure anything else you can test and let me know.

Thank you for the feedback. About the status bar padding could you explain a bit more. I can change it but I'm not sure what is different.
The brightness slider settings are from stock; I'll look into it though.
About performance, I'll run some tests. The libc is not optimized for our chipset because it's the first release. I'm waiting for more bugs to come through before I start optimizing for performance.
There are some cool battery features there my SOT time is waaaaay better than stock.

Yes you can directly install over PA Beta 1, just follow instructions in OP, no need to flash stock in this case. Compared to beta 1, it's more stable, but a few minor bugs. battery is excellent but in PA it was kinda okay. PA is more fluid, but both are fast. I came from PA and don't regret one bit. But both are good.
Some Screen shots I took (I forgot to take battery ones, sorry. but SOT is around 9+ Hrs for light to medium usage)

Re Status bar padding: In stock and you ROM, the notch area and status bar "depth" or height is large. In other ROMs it's more compact. Not a problem at all sorry for complaining, but I noticed so I mentioned.
Re Brightness slider: Yea, confirmed broken in Stock A11 and also Paranoid Android based on A11.
Re performance: thanks for making it clear. It's not bad at all as it is. Appreciate your consideration.
Also DT2W is broken for me... and FOD has completely stopped working.
It was working initially, but now it doesn't recognise nor letting me add new ones.
The light still shines, but doen't scan.
(this might just be a **** up on my side tho so sorry if it's just my dumb ass)
Initially it was spectacular but now it's dead.

Where is the authorship on your commits? Trees are full of "KANG".
This is disgusting in relation to other developers and their work done.

Hi,
Most of the work was done by me (ofc people helped on IRC etc), but the fixes itself was what I thought would work through trial and error. If I have missed an authoriship for a commit let me know I'll update it. The commits which I fixed audio from and something else was given authoriship to. The remaining was straight from my lineage-17.1 tree which had very little contributions from me anyway. Anyhoo, feel free to DM me about it if you want to talk more.
Cheers
