Phone bricked with OREO partitions - Huawei P10 Lite Questions & Answers

Hi, I bricked my phone.
I upgraded it to OREO and everything was going fine. I got to fastboot mode and flashed a system.img from a treble rom, then wiped data and got into a bootloop.
I tried flashing the old system.img and it didn't work. I wiped everything and flashed a few imgs from the oreo firmware to see if that would fix it (vbmeta, system, cust..) but didn't help, my phone is bricked and can't restore it.
It has OREO partition style and I can boot to TWRP (Huawei P Smart OREO Recovery) and fastboot.
If someone is using OREO and can make a backup with the Huawei P Smart OREO recovery or a flashable OREO zip maybe that will help to unbrick my phone, I'm paying to the first one who unbricks it.

So you can boot into fastboot and TWRP ? If yes use the HwOTA method to update the phone again to Oreo but replace the TWRP inside it with the Huawei P Smart TWRP and rename it to required name. This will work 100 % I think because it fixes and replaces all the firmware

flash the oreo stock system.img and wipe data would be my guess

Yeah, if TWRP and Bootloader works try to install Oreo again!
Or try to flash stock RAMDISK.img ot ramdisk partition (boot partition), KERNEL.img to kernel partition.
Or try with service ROM and dload method: https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10-lite/help/original-service-rom-huawei-p10-lite-t3688097
Download the ROM C432B182 (Europe), on your SD Card make folder dlaod and put the files:
/dload/UPDATE.app
/dload/WAS-L21A_hw_eu/update_WAS-L21A_hw_eu.app
Turn OFF the phone, press all 3 buttons: VOL+ and VOL- and Power until you see EMUI update menu
This will rollback the version to Android 7.0 (WAS-LX1AC432B182) But I'm not sure if this works on Oreo
Unfortunately, my phone is WAS-LX1 3GB RAM and I can't send you a TWRP backup because your phone is WAS-LX1A 4GB RAM

No, Im sure 99% that dload method with service rom for Emui 5 will not be successful. If flashing system.img will not gave effects then only to wait HWOTA8 method for rollback to Emui 5 ot to upgrade again to b321 but for that method we need recovery nocheck but for Emui 8. For now we don't have it.....

here's something to try, I think I had issues before with aosp because of an encrypted data partition... even after wiping it it was not booting. so I went back to stock and then tried aosp again when I was home... I think what you have to do is flash system and wipe data, then install Magisk before rebooting!
I have huawei oreo rom right now with unencrypted Data! I can view files on it in the chinese recovery

It won't, recovery partitions are different and so the recoveries are. I don't have the oreo recoveries with no-check, like hwota has

That won't work, recovery will reject it.
I want to say that my phone is unbricked, big thanks to @geeklynx who gave me a TWRP backup and helped me as much as he could.
The TWRP backup didn't work, but after restoring it, wiping data and then flashing Resurrection Remix treble ROM my phone booted.
I bought him a Nova Launcher Primer but he didn't want anything about his help, which was very kind coming from him.
Thanks to everybody who tried to help me

I can confirm that the dload method works.
I was in C605 (Latin America) and i made a rebranding process to convert it into c432 (Europe) just to flash oreo.
Well, that process let me without the lte network access in my region.
So i wanted to rollback to nougat, and use a update.app file from my region and fortunetly works
I dont know if will work for everyone, but its really a good way of restoring the system
PS Sorry for my english, it's not my mother language

You're wrong.
dload method works and this user confirm that - https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76232808&postcount=43
He restored the system to Android 7 (nougat) via dload method.

Man.... Its so confused.... You have emui 8 and want to rollback, right? And you can not do anything with Hwota8? If you said that its very strange.... Did you see my video tutorial for rollback? What wipe you mentioned? Its no needed any wipe in Twrp..... no any action in twrp..... Just follow script in Hwota8 and my video instruction. It is so clearly described that no need any additional clarification .....

[METHODS][Getting Back] to STOCK ROM after flashing Custom roms

This is fully a noob helping guide , Am just trying myself to help noobs instead of explaining them each time .
Method 1 :
Make a twrp backup soon after unlocking boot loader .
Am not going to explain how to unlock bootloader and also twrp flashing ,you can search different threads available in the same section .
Soon after unlocking bootloader , Just boot twrp before flashing it .
This can be done this way , Once you unlocked bootloader .
Upon firstboot ,just goto developer options and enable USB debugging and then Open the folder where you had setup minimal fastboot (Mfastboot v2 google for it) . You should have it as you can't unlock bootloader without minimal fastboot .
In any empty space in minimal fastboot exrracted folder , just press shift+right click and select "Open command prompt here" .
Now copy twrp recovery to Mfastboot folder .
Connect your phone to PC.
In command prompt type the below command
adb reboot bootloader
Hit enter ,
Now your phone reboots to bootloader .
Now type this command .
mfastboot.exe boot twrp.img
(Just rename the recovery to twrp.img before flashing )
Now just take a backup and keep it safe somewhere to access when required .
This is easy , but many may loose their twrp backup for some reasons or forgot to take a backup before stepping to custom ROMs , move to Method 2 if your in such group .
Method 2:
Download update.app from official site .
Extract and put dload folder in root of sdcard .
Power off the phone and press vol up+ vol down and power .
It will now fully flash stock ROM with all stock files .
(This method requires stock recovery so keep in mind to flash stock recovery before trying to update as twrp can't perform these tasks )
Method 3:
Its not hard and not easy too but you required to download some tools .
Huawei update extractor tool (google for it)
Once downloaded open the tool and choose the path where you placed update.app in your PC .
Now the tool opens update.app .
Extract system.IMG and boot.IMG from update.app
Put them in the minimal fastboot folder.
Boot your phn to fastboot using command adb reboot bootloader .
Now connecting your phone to PC in bootloader mode , type the below commands
mfastboot.exe flash system system.img
mfastboot.exe flash boot boot.img
mfastboot.exe reboot
That's it you are on stock ROM.
Method 4:
Flash the stock rom flashable zip posted by devs in your device specific threads and flash it .
Fully for noobs : METHOD 5:
Download the twrp backup posted in device specific threads and put it in sdcard and restore it. Its easy though .
Now your device is ready for flashing official updates "if you get them"[emoji14].
i try every method here and i found myself anytime with modaco custom rom in name build its normal ? ( sorry for my bad english )

Cache & Cust partitions need wiping and reflashing. Had the same issue when I reverted a Modaco rom back to stock.
Easiest method for L21 users is to flash this stock ROM: http://www.modaco.com/forums/topic/377002-r3-custom-rom-starter-template-honor-5x-kiw-l21-b130/ then replace TWRP with the stock recovery image from http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-5x/development/repository-honor-5x-file-depot-t3328288
yes, the rom says "custom rom starter template" but it's the stock B130 UK ROM repackaged into a flashable ZIP. Much easier than messing around extracting system images.
---------- Post added at 02:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:21 PM ----------
I should mention one thing. If you have gone back to stock after a custom ROM then you may find the internal storage partition is the wrong size. Just do a full factory reset from Settings to resolve this.

Yes, if you just flash that rom then you'll be fully restored to stock, but with TWRP still in place. If you flash the stock recovery.img after then this will put the phone completely at stock and you should be able to apply future updates as the rom is completely untouched.

Hi I went from Cm13 to stock with emui 2.0 by restoring my twrp backup before I flashed my first huawei gr5 custom rom.
Now i am trying to restore back to stock rom to fully use OTA updates. Here's what I Did:
1. Restore twrp backup (emui 2.0 not rooted)
2. Flash system img and boot.img via adb using img file from update.app also by using update extractor.
Now i realized that im still in twrp. Do i need to flash recovery img first? Then can i do updates without problem? Or do i need to use the update.app via dload updating too?

Forgive my English too, if I understood well the problem is you can not boot your operating system.Download the official rom and extract the boot and system images of the update.app.
Huawei update extractor http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433454. Once you have boot.img and recovery.img Download adb minimal and fastboot and universal drivers adb. In the folder where is adb minimal and fastboot copy boot.img and system.img.
Start the adb minimal, connect the USB cable to your computer, press volume down and connect the cable,or volumen down and power, so your phone will enter fastboot mode.
In the Command window of minimal adb type the following:
fastboot devices and pressing enter to ensure that recognizes your phone.
Fastboot flash boot boot.img and pressing enter.
Fastboot flash system system.img and pressing enter this takes more time.
For end ; fastboot reboot. good luck

I have an Honor 9 (STF-L09C432) with the same problem (no OS installed) so I flashed the boot.img and the system.img with fastboot like you said. All worked fine but now when I reboot system with TWRP it's still saying "No OS installed! Are you sure you wish to reboot?"
What have I to do to get my phone back?
Help me, please.
Thanks

Of update.app extracts boot, cust, system and recovery with Huawei extractor and flash for fastboot so you should exit the bootloop.

"Dear Mister Allet,
thank you for your request.
I am very sorry to tell you, that there is no firmware for the Honor 9 available at the moment.
For any service please contact your retailer or any Mobiletouch Service Center. They will help you to fix your device.

Missing some settings and system apks (Nougat B336)

I have the problem.
I miss app twin and private space from settings(it doesn't exist) also missed (Files and Huawei ID, but installed apks for them), how to get them without downgrading to MM and installing again?
Is it possible by extracting apk for those files and installing or by dload method?
Or will I get these things if I upgrade when next nougat version is available via 3 buttons method?
Please someone help.

You do not install it corectly (for Files and Huawei ID). You have to install both zip one by one.
I did like its written in badwolf's thread. Flashed with meticulus both zip files in order without reboot. But i flashed new files b336 for the first time not b328/9. And saw some more people missed some system apks and features
b336 still need update_data_full, It should flash somehow like this:
* twrp > restore OEMINFO_VNS-L31 ( only for non vns-l31 models )
* twrp > format Data ( only for nougat twrp )
twrp > install update_data_full_VNS-L31_hw_eu.zip
* bootloader > flash recovery_stock.img ( if dload flash not work)
flash update.app by dload
eRecovery > Factory reset ( not wipe data in twrp, it will wipe the update_data_full )

Your former unlock code is okey.
Make sure your settings> developer option> oem unlock is enabled and do the unlock thing properly
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot oem unlock your_formor_unlock_code
if it can't work, the response shoud be "FAILED (remote: password wrong)", not invalid.

DO NOT USE BADWOLF'S THREAD BECAUSE IT'S OUTDATED.

I have to know your system version that you have cancelled and the recovery version, because Nougat is different from MM
What phone do you have? (Back of the phone it tells you what VNS is. Say what VNS is.)
Ask somebody to send you a backup of their rom.

p9 lite vns FUH7N17311000495 (backup folder) :S
where do i find the VNS number
You can try to recovery the stock ROM with dload method.
1. May sure that you've flashed the OEM info. It will lock your bootloader.
2. Put update.app in dload. The version can be b161.
3 update.
Reboot

Fix for Honor 8 Lite Soft-Brick (PRA-LA1)

Okay so I was trying out a new ROM for my phone but the SIM wasn't working. I flashed a different ROM but the phone got soft-bricked. I can't load any ROM now.
I tried flashing different stock ROMs two times but still the phone is stuck on "Your phone is booting now..." screen. ( I did this via fastboot flash boot + recovery + system).
I can flash TWRP just fine and flash different ROMs from it but I can't boot into any of them.
Just a sidenote, I did an advanced wipe in TWRP on all storages except MicroSD Card ( Data + System + Vendor + Product ). I dont know if this detail is important or not.
Kindly reply with a fix.
