Battery depletion problem in Spice dream Uno MI-498 - Spice Dream Uno

Hi Friends,
My Dream Uno MI-498, a 3 yr. old set, presently running Marshmallow, is behaving
strangely since last 3-4 months. Due to some unknown reasons, battery is depleting
very fast & sometimes as low as 4-5 hrs till zero level. While checking battery
details, I find that "Mobile standby" is the major culprit & consumes 95% of battery. e.g., at say, 10% battery remaining, Mobile standby usage is around 85%, screen- 1%, voice calls-1% etc . While checking history, I find that system shows Wi-Fi signal is on, but actually, in order to save battery, I never keep Wi-Fi on while not in use. Since my ROM is only 4 gb, I uninstalled majority of apps, disabled un-installable apps like Flipkart etc, switched on battery saver to increase battery life but nothing improved. Strangely, I have found that, if I keep Wi-Fi always on & surf net for some time depletion of battery halts to a great extent & then battery can last for more than 2 days. Earlier, same handset gave me 6-7 days battery strength. I am also having another Android one set from Micromax, which incidentally showed identical problems with battery lasting for 3-4 hrs without any usage. In this case also, battery history indicated that all signals( mobile network, Wi-Fi, Awake, Screen ON) are always ON which is not true excepting mobile network signal. Luckily, keeping Wi-Fi always on & surfing net for some time, mobile standby usage reduced & battery life increased to a great extent (now 3-1/2 day running with 55% battery remaining).
Being a newbie, I am clueless to these strange behaviors of Android 6.0.
I am now requesting my member brothers to give some suggestions/settings(without
rooting) so that battery life of my Spice mobile increases to at least 4-5 days.
My mobile service provider is BSNL(Bharat Sanchar Nigam from India).
Thanks & regards,
S. K. De

battery life

Hei all of you
It seems that the legend has been released to some people, and i was wondering what you guys get out of the battery.
I am currently on a Diamond 2, with 1100 Mha battery, and currently get 1½ day out of this, and i want this to be an improvement. The legend, with 1300Mha, OLED screen and newer cpu, sounds like it will be a lot better, but some review mentions the battery life to be really bad.
I am using my phone for 20 text messages, psuh mail, no phone calls and only visit a few websites on 3G. No bluetooth, wifi or GPS. What can i expect of this?
i'm sorry if my English is not good enough,
but i've the HTC legend since Friday, and Saturday i did a simple test, i put the mobile phone to charge Friday night, Saturday about 12:00 pm i disconnected the charger and i've turned the wi-fi, gps,and bluetolth off, only the 3G network was on.
I had also ebuddy running on the background, after 4 hours i didn't touched the phone, and my battery was about the 25%
And the full charge time was almost 2 hours.... i went back to the shop where i bought the phone, they changed my battery and the did a hard reset.
The battery performance is now a little bit better, but it has not the same performance as the iphone 3gs.

I think the first time you run your phone it will consume the most power. So it's not the right time to test. I suggest you fully charge and fully consume the battery 2-3 times and then put it for a test.
Full capacity of a battery shows up after 2 months.
You will pass from 1 day to 3 days
So here is one short statistic after second charging.
14% of energy left in the battery after:
39 hours since last charging
2 hours of display on (35% of energy)
37 hours of phone connected to the cell (36% of energy)
13 minutes of calls (13% of energy)
Phone used for me "as normal" - cca. 10 SMS, 2 hours of mp3 and FM radio, one hour of net surfing, running sync with Gmail and Google Calendar.
Yes, it is period of 1-3 months to get full capacity of the battery, but in first few usage, you can fully charge and discharge battery.
I have a one day of full usage of the phone (wifi always on, twitter, e-mails, calls etc.)
Getting better
It's getting slowly better with each charging, second week and I'm on two days. Everyone is using it in a different manner, but my battery improved for about a 70%.
got the legend now for 2 weeks and loving it.
Battery life is good, don't expect to go 2 days intensive use without recharge but no phone with these function have this.
I can easily go with one to two day with occasional wifi, gps use and keep 3g or sync on settled on 1 hour intervals while playing some games using apps etc
Blue tooth i haven;t tried but like any phone the power munchers are wifi, blue tooth gps and 3g.
wifi should save lots of power compared to network operator connection
i use wifi at office, and with extensive usage, i can get about 8 hours straight, that is pretty heavy, the screen barely got to sleep
I have tested the battery in plain sleep.
If the device has wifi off and mobile data off (and no sync, ofcourse) i guess it lasts for a week - 10 days. But then you cant use wifi or mobile data.
If you only let it be in stand-by (screen locked and off, no data or wifi or gps or bt) it last quite long, probably close to the stated 300-400 hours in the manual.
In real life that translates to 3-5% battery drain (tested by me for 24h, only sent 2 sms and talked on phone for 2 minutes) per day.
But in normal use, wifi will drain 5-10% battery per hour and 3g/gprs with autosync drains 2-5% per hour depending on net.
No device lasts for more then a day or two if you acctualy use the device.
I have had my Legend for a week and a half now and the battery life is also getting better with each passing day. I can easily use it for a day and a half with quite a lot of WiFi browsing, and up to 30 or 40 minutes of call time. I'm really loving this phone!

Hi fellow Legenders,
i've had the phone for 4 days now. i am having issues with my battery. I have noted some points that i'll share & hopefully find a resolution for my dismal batt life. I have bluettoh on all the time, but it shows very little drain based on BT alone. Other than that, this phone ROCKS!
After full 8hr charge, the phone lasted approx. 13hrs 38mins before reaching critical level with the following findings:
On 08 April 2010
1. Voice calls used 50% batt – 36mins 11s call time.
2. Display on approx. 30% brightness used 21% batt – on for 1hr 10mins 15s
3. Cell standby on 3G used 16% batt – on for 13hrs 38mins (no signal 1%)
4. Phone idle used 8% - on for 12hrs 28mins
5. Bluetooth used 5% - on for 13hrs 28mins
After normal charge till batt 100% (about 3hrs), the phone lasted 15hrs 12mins 41s before reaching critical level
On 9th April 2010
1. Cell standby on 2G used 50% - on for 15hrs 12mins 41s (no signal 3%)
2. Display on aprrox 30% brightness used 18% - on for 29mins 35s
3. Phone idle used 15% batt – on for 14hrs 43mins 5s
4. Voice calls used 10% batt – on for 4mins 14s
5. Bluetooth used 7% - on for 15hrs 12mins 41s
Looking forward to better batt life as the days go by.
cheers,
Su
Very poor battery life for me.It has 7-8 hours stand-by.
1.Every 5 mins e-mail control.
2.Weather with auto update.
3.Friend stream.
4.Background data and auto sync.
5.Enable always-on mobile data
6.3G
I don't understand whats going on.If i left device when i go sleep with full battery after 7-8 hours i look it.It shows me only left %35 battery.
After disable all auto-uptade and 3g its over 1 days.
My hd2 had 1230 mah battery and super big screen and 1ghz processor. It was using %10 with same usage.
Legend has 1300 mah battery and small screen and 600 mhz processor. It uses %65.
Can anyone explain this sucks status?
I m using the legend... and a hd2 as my other device. would say the battery life for the legend is really dismal...

I am happy to report that my phone batt life has improved tremendously since my last charge. I installed OS monitor & checked to see what might be hogging the batt, & discovered some program was keeping my CPU running inthe high 70's & above continuously. I killed that program, fully charged my phone till 100%, restarted the phone for good measure, & with BT on permanently, more than an hour of wifi usage, about half an hour of phone calls & about 30 smses, after 24hrs, i still had about 24% batt left.
So it has definitely improved by leaps. Hope that helps others who have similar problems.
cheers,
Su
it will be good if you can share what's causing the high cpu usage ...
Oh sorry i forgot. it was OpenWatch for BT watches. It has a problem currently with HTC Legend & SE MBW-150. It doesn't have the full functionality as yet for some reason. The reason it ran the CPU load up, was because i had turned off my watch by accident & set the program to search & connect to the watch. My folly really.
cheers,
Su
After three weeks of use:
10h 52m since unplugged - still at 50% of battery
- Display: 49%. Time on: 1h 46m. Auto-brightness, mostly indoor
- Voice calls: 31%. Time on: 22m 53s
- Cell standby: 12%. Time on: 10h 52m
- Phone idle: 6%. Time on: 9h 6m
- Maps: 2%. (played with maps for a couple of minutes)
Gmail/Contacts/Calendar/Weather sync is on
GPS on (almost didn't use it)
WiFi off
Mostly in area with good 3G coverage.
Actual usage:
- Phone calls
- Some internet browsing
- Some chatting via Google Talk
Nice battery time
I've bought and charged my phone last Thursday. GSM only, using WIFI every day for 15-20 minutes, 10-15 min talk, and it's still at 35-40% after 5 days. I've got a magic battery or what?

I can't believe this . I wanna just 24 hours stand-by.I hate to charge it everyday two times.

ok, my phone battery life is messed up. Help please

Hi guys, this is not another rant post about battery life, but i'm starting to become really
frustrating with it, i tried almost all the solutions provided here on the forum but i can't
simply get the **** out of it. This is my story:
I bought the phone as used around 1 month ago (the guy who sold me the phone used it for around 1
month as well). I was quite satisfied about the device, but i noticed almost immediately the damn
poor battery life. With stock battery, my stats are (this is an average of the last 3 times i
used it):
Average duration: 27 hours
Average display usage: 2.5 hours
Average display %: around 45%
Average standby: Cell 30%, phone 15-16, other apps and android core 1-2
This with the following configuration:
3g off
gps off
background data off
bluetooth off
display brightness set to the minimum
no background applications or live wallpapers
No animations
No vibration feedback
No sounds
No widgets
Removed 5 touchwiz panels out of 7
Wi fi on (actually i noticed some small improvements by leaving it off)
The strange thing is, i noticed that the phone drains a LOT of battery while in standby. During
the night (7-8 hrs standby) my phone can drains up to 20% of the battery life. I read on the
forum that a lot of you guys have a battery drain overnight of around 2-3% which is 10 times
lower than mine.
So i thought about 2 possible causes:
1) Software related(processes or applications running in background)
2) Hardware related (battery ****ed up by the previous owner; phone not going in standby correctly)
Regarding the problem 1) i tried almost every solution provided here on the forum. Updated to new roms (JM5 and JM8) installed ultraslim roms, installed battery saving applications and task killers, performed some exotic "fixes" (removed battery stats file, tried to completely drain the battery following some procedures explained here on the forum). Nothing helped. To check case 2) i bought a cameronsino extended battery. Well with this battery i have exactly twice the duration of the stock battery. Last night i charged it to full before going to bed. This morning, when i woke up, the phone drained 10% (!) of the battery in 8 hours. So the stock battery is not the problem. What should i think then? that My phone is ****ed up? is There no chance to obtain a decent battery life? How is possible that a lot of guys have almost twice my battery life with stock battery?
I guess your phone may not be going into the sleep mode correctly ... try using system panel (from the market) and figure out which rogue app is causing the problem. Mine usually drains 4-5% at night.. (jm8 stock + voodoo)...

[Q] Focus battery life after Mango 7720

How is the battery life compared to previous state? Better, worse or about the same? Please vote
It will be the same for the first 3 days and then gets better by a whole one more day (Don't know why).
For me the counter at the 1st 3 days said it will last for 1 day and 18 hours now it says that it will last for more tan 2 days and 18 hours and some times 3 days and 5 hours.
I tested it and it lasted for 2 days and 11 hours and there was still 17% of battery life (Lite usage , some 3g usage and listening for 30 minutes for music and around 2 to 3 calls of 15 minutes total).
Hope that helps
It does, thanks! Replies are welcome and there's a poll on top so please vote
I leave WiFi and data connection switched on all te time ... I used to get about 18 hours ... Still get Te same ... Comparing 7720 RTM with official mango update ...
Sent from my SGH-i917 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Battery life on my focus with mango and even before mango has been better than any other smartphone ive owned. I cant complain at all.
I was going to post a message on the battery too.
Poll is a great idea.
I just finished charging it after installing Mango. I will see how much it lasts.
I wanted it to drain out and recharge it so I can see how it is with Mango. It didn't gave up easily.
My initial impression is that battery is improved.
However, when talking about battery life, it's crucial to keep in mind what services the phone is using and what apps are installed.
For example, things like sound enabled for key presses, or having WiFi on or off, whether you play games, what apps you run, etc are important.
For my test, I want to see how long the battery lasts with a very basic usage. WiFi turned off, without running too much app or play games, giving\receiving few calls(I do not talk too much on the phone).
I heard for example that Samsung app Now drains out battery pretty fast.
Also, lack of signal in some areas, also means alot for power consumption.
6 days + 7 hours
Usage:
no WiFI enabled
no games played
max 2 hours of talks in total(I talked once like 1 hour)
How does it sound to you?
For me it looks fine although I am wondering how much would it last if I have Wifi enabled(for the same amount of talking duration).
6 days, What?
I only get 3 days and 15 hours if not using the mobile phone at all.
Can you please post a screen shot of the battery saver
I am in the 7th day actually now
The statistics displayed in battery saver are very wrong. I am not sure how it computes the remaining time.
When I posted yesterday, it showed 6 days since charging and only few hours remaining.
Now it says, 7 days and 1 hour since charging, remaining: "less then 1 hour", remaining battery life: 6%.
Last time I charged, I noticed that battery doesn't get to 0%, most probably it needs some energy to preserve data, so it will probably only keep me for few hours today.
I will post a photo soon, right now I don't have other device to take a photo of it.
Last time I fully charged the phone was when it was completely empty. Maybe it's important.
I can only hope the battery life won't degrade in the next year.
Ok, so now we have some votes so I can share my bits and why I started this thread.
Before 7720 I was on 7660 (Mango Beta1, not 7712)
The battery was certainly better than in NoDo. Actually, I'd say my phone had the best battery lifespan in 7660, than in all other versions.
7660:
Standby: 3+ days.
Night stand-by: 3% consumed (cca 7-8h)
On average use: 1 day and 20h
For me, average use means:
- Cellular data connection on during the day (I switch it off during the night)
- Some wi-fi to check new apps, say 20 mins daily
- About 1-2h playing.
- Minimal calling (several minutes).
7720:
Standby: almost 3 days
Night stand-by: 4%
On average use: 1 day and 10h
Stand-by means no data connections.
As an observation, stand-by time is almost similar. There is a noticeable drop in battery time once data connections come in play (cca 10-20% for me, compared to 7660). I am not going to revert to 7660 to re-test.
One more thing: after upgrading to Mango, I had AccuWeather app installed and running in background. I had to disable it because the battery life was getting under 24h (actually more like 20h). So if you have apps that run in the background, that might be one of the reasons why the battery life dropped for you. Once I disabled it from working on the background, I'm experiencing very similar times to 7660, but still the data connections consume just a bit more.
How are people getting 3+ days!? When at 100%, my Focus usually says like 12-13 hours. I have a Gmail email account set to push, and a Hotmail account set to receive email every hour. I have Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn linked on my phone. I have Messenger and Facebook Chat set to off. I always have wifi/bluetooth off, unless I need it for a few minutes.
I am thinking I should flash to 7004 again and update to Mango from the beginning.
I walshed my phone for Nodo, then did the fix, then used the windowsphonehacker method for Mango and got the "Samsung Update" when Mango was released.
Thinking maybe my install is just a little off due to the route I took to get here.
Anyone else have battery life as bad as I do? If I use my phone non-stop for like an hour (people hub, web browsing, facebook app, etc...) I can burn through a ton of battery.

Make sure to do a reset immediately after the update to the *official* Mango (not the tricked one).
The BL seems to be much better and is a small cost for the rewards. You will erase your phone, but it's worth it. The BL seems to be much better than NoDo.
To increase battery life when you have data connections on:
- keep the brightness to low
- keep the ringer on vibrate when you can
- disable background apps
- don't keep applications opened in the background
These save me a good % of battery on a daily basis.
Also, unless really necessary, disable data connections during the night.
@rkremers: with the above settings and no data connection I get 3-4% loss evey 8h or so. If you calculate, that's about 12% per day. Which gives about 9 days for standby, as someone else on the forum was saying, which I incline to believe. This weekend I will test this too. I won't touch the phone at all until Sunday evening. So I'll have the power consumption on standby for 2 days.
dang enderpsp... Now I'm for sure gonna flash to 7004 and start from scratch, to see if it gets better. Probably do it Sunday sometime due to busy Friday night/Saturday.
Thanks for weighing in...

You're welcome. Keep in mind that a "tired" battery can also be responsible. I see lots of wrong advice given across the forum.
How to Prolong Lithium-based Batteries is a long read, but in the long run, you'll benefit from it, as a lot of devices use nowadays these types of batteries, including cars!
LE: As a refresher for me, I searched again and found this. While it's not as detailed as the one above, it contains good advice.
so, I flashed to 7004, then let Zune upgrade to Mango... I'm at 95% battery now, and it says 1 day 5 hours... 1 day 10 hours with battery saver on.
Not sure if it will actually last that long, but before I did this, it would say about 13 hours on a full charge with battery saver on... so clearly my phone did not like being walshed, unwalshed, hacked to mango, etc... Guess in the future I'll install leaked versions of WP7, but go back to zero when they officially release.
I finished the weekend standby test (2 days). This battery is 9 months old.
Setup:
- Battery saver off
- No data connections/wifi
- Sound on
- Low brightness
- No alarms
- No background apps
- No touching the phone
After 24h: 91%
After 48h: 79%
Had a phone call (didn't answer) and one alert (didn't dismiss), in the second day. After 24h I just turned on to check battery status (<20s).
The end result speaks for itself, approx 10% battery per day. So, it can give 9+ days on standby.
Next weekend I'll do the same test with battery saver on and update here.
I just got a Samsung Focus and the battery seems to lose power at the rate of 2% an hour. Is this normal? data connection is not active, no games, no youtube videos just a quick e-mail check and 2-3 min call.
Is this likely to improve after a few more battery charge cycles? I have followed all instructions like disabling location services and background apps.

How is the antenna signal? What type of connection?
Antenna signal is pretty good 4-5 bars. Just regular connection not 3g. E-mail auto syncs have been set to manual.
Battery seems to be original Samsung.

Abmysal battery life

Hello guys recent p8 lite owner here I am having huge issues with battery life, I charged it to 100% and went to sleep, data was off wifi off nfc off basically nothing was on and when I woke up 7 hours later battery is at 75% with 0 Screen on time.. even when data is off 3g sign shows above and most of my battery goes to the mobile signal according to the graph..
I only get about 90 minutes of screen on time per day, any tips on improving this? I have auto-sync on does it eat up lot of the battery life?
also is there a way for it to use 2g signals for browsing to save battery... should be able to switch o 3g,4g for high intensive stuff like youtube.. im assuming if I use 2g my standby time will improve a lot.
Thanks
I use the Optimization button and Ultra Battery mode quite a bit and can usually get two days on a charge without much trouble. I've had the phone since June, and I don't think the battery has ever lasted less than a day (but I'm not a real heavy user).
In Ultra Battery mode, the battery drains just a bit overnight, maybe 3%. I also use Ultra Battery during the day when I'm at the computer and don't need the phone for anything besides calls and texts.
Early on, I disabled quite a few apps that I never use, and that has probably helped the cause.
I've always got 4G turned on (except when it shuts off on its own because of Ultra Battery or WiFi ).

Battery Drops to 81%, Only 3% Usage Detected

Hi everyone,
I performed a Factory Reset on my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge as all of a sudden I was experiencing poor battery performance. Since the Factory Reset, I now only have the device's default apps installed, with the exception of me installing WhatsApp!
The features turn on are: WiFi, Location, Bluetooth, Mobile Data, Sync, NFC and Always On Display (Night Clock). This has always been the case since day one and I don't really want to start having to disable features as that becomes a nuisance.
Just before going to sleep, I charged my device to 100% and then unplugged it. On checking it this morning, the phone had been on battery for 7 hours 53 minutes (totally unused during this time) and it reports the following: Cell Standby at 2% (53 mAh) and Device Idle at 1% (41 mAh) and that's it.
For the first year, the phone would only drop by say... 3-5% for the whole night (with all my fancy apps installed!)
Why would the performance drop so significantly? How can I fix this? Could the Android OS be doing something in the background that it actually isn't aware of and is eating up my battery?
Any comments and tips would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards,
X22
Welcome to my world...I have the same issue with my phone from the start. Could never understand how other people can get great battery life and I can't. When not using my phone, I loose 3-5 % per hour, more if I use it. My phone never goes to sleep/deep sleep. I tried all combinations to save battery life, but to no avail. I took my phone to Samsung as my display developed grey lines a month ago. I got my phone back and they informed me as part of their service I got a new battery free of charge. With the new battery I get 2% drop per hour, when not using the phone, still no deep sleep etc. We did have an update about 2 months ago and since then the battery life is a bit better when using the phone, it's not draining as quickly, but deep sleep is a big no no when not using the phone...
Hi @termdj
When I first got the phone it was absolutely solid. If you charged it before sleep, you could wake up the next morning and the phone was at a solid 90+% (easily!).
Now with everything turned off (WiFi, Location, Bluetooth, Sync and NFC) the battery is just not performing and loses 20% during the night.
However, I feel it may not necessarily be the battery, but an Android OTA Update which could be causing this. It's only been a short period of time since I noticed it and I haven't noticed a gradual decrease in performance.
Just hoping that some wizard says "you need to do X, Y and Z and all will be sorted"... here's hoping!
Regards,
X22
Look around on XDA and try some of the suggested battery saving tips. I tried some of them, but with a lot of them it's mostly turning of key functions/features....That's not why I bought the phone, so I use the relevant functions. I have made piece that my battery life isn't wow. I think that something is keeping your phone awake, preventing deep sleep, just as in my case...
I also have the same problem since updating to Nougat
