My cheep screen protector and case combo works. - Samsung Galaxy S9+ Accessories

I like to keep my case as small as possible. My phone rides in my front pocket. I got tired of wasting a lot of money on screen protectors that were not case friendly. My choice of case and screen protection is a light duty combo, if you need really good drop protection this may not be what your looking for. The screen protector does not go quite as far down the edge and the case does not go over the screen protector. I put the screen protector on and 24 hours later the case. Anyway the combo gets along well with each other and I got scratch protection and a small amount of drop protection at a very reasonable price. I did a similar combo on my S7 edge and looked for something the same for my new s9 plus. Thought I would share. Google these:

I love my Bestskinsever skin. $10 for full body. You have to make the solution yourself though.

I got myself an InvisibleShield from Zagg. It's not easy to install.. the back side of my phone got some bubbles stuck in there. The front side was better though. However sliding your fingers across feels weird... there's always some rubberized layer that you can feel and creates traction sometimes. Then it gets a bit sticky and if you leave your phone on a glass surface for example, when you pick it up you can feel that it's unsticking from the table. And then you've got an orange peel effect on the screen. Moreover the shield collects finger prints and dust around the key holes but hey... at least you've got peace of mind about your screen not getting scratched. I for one, can live with the above mentioned issues besides at night it looks great... only by day you can see better the imperfections but still you don't have problems with the screen being reflective by day.. you can see well what's going on.
I always get zagg and let best buy put it on. I've tried many times. I've tried doing it the way they do but it still looks like **** when I'm done. They do a much better job than I ever would. I let a sprint employee put one of theirs on once. They did a ****ty job on it. I tried doing that myself at home, taking a long time to try and cut the plastic to be the exact size as the screen. I failed miserably when putting it on and getting all the air pockets out. Get a zagg at best buy and pay them to put it on. Don't mess with the screen or put a case on it for at least a couple hours. Overnight is better. I didn't do that once and every time I put the phone in my pocket, the heat would make the zagg slide on the screen. After that I give it a few hours to dry and set. No problems now. That's why they they say to not roll down your windows for 24 to 48 hours after you get tint put on a car. The liquid needs to dry and the adhesive needs to set properly.
I'd have to recommend the ZAGG as well. I always buy from ZAGG.com that way if anything goes wrong the warranty/replacement is easy, plus it's usually cheaper. There's also a technique called palming with helps a lot with getting the corners to stick, they even have a video on it.
I use Steinheil Ultra Optics. I love the matte feel to the screen and it reduces glare. Also it doesn't yellow!
Hey i bought Steinheil Ultra Optics and kind of disappointed with it. It's not fitting into my i9023.....
Pros
- no finger print.
- good feel on sliding e screen with my finger
cons
- no warranty
- doesnt fit. protector too small!
- too expensive for a ****ty protector w/o warranty.
I will not recommend Steinheil Ultra Optics!
Who has a satisfied screen/full body protector for i9023 plz recommend..haha
I bought ghost armor ones for my nexus s and the wifes iphone 4. Followed the directions and did the iphone first. It looked like ****. Took it off and decided not to do my nexus. Will probably return them, and just be careful with the phone.

I am seriously considering using my s7 edge without Screen Protector, What's opinion?

I bought s7 edge new...a few days ago...
I bought him a Screen Protector puregear, simple a bad screen protector.
And I can not find a good screen protector, In the meantime, I'm not using my s7 edge, because it.
I anyway not love screen protector, so I thought maybe... I will use my s7 edge without a screen protector
Would be very happy to hear your opinions, worthwhile or not ?
If you can elaborate This will help me, thus I will learn more.
Thanks!!!
I'm using it without one too, but I use the leather cover from Samsung(not the flip cover). Just as drop protection and because the phone is very slippery without one
I've spent more than 50$ on screen protectors still haven't find anything that last longer than a week. Somes peeled off, somes have touch issues so i decided to just use my phone naked. The phone hold up surprisingly well for the past 2 months, not any scratches even when i did drop it twice and there were some dents on the benzel.
---------- Post added at 06:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:25 PM ----------
My advice is u should definitely buy a case since the phone is pretty slippery and the benzels are so thin that u might find ur fingers resting on the screen causing touch issues.
Screen protectors are all personal preferences. From what i know, it limit the beauty of the screen, harder to see in direct sunlight, and u cant use it underwater.
Why not using it with a flip cover (but w/o screen protector)?
Best of both worlds, you can show the phone off yet it is protected all-round.

I have both. The leather one is sheer class (and better protection), the slim line one is form fitting with less protection (but still a helluvamore than not using anything).
Both make the phone look superb.
I have my s7e from since it came out, i found that my diamond bling scratches the screen when i put it on my ear so bought a screen protector but lasted 4 hours, im not fund of screen protectors i like my screen naked. Have hundreds of scratches now.
who needs a screen protector? I've never used one since like 4 years and all my phones are exposed at least to dog bites (I'm a vet and the phone is always a curious thing for them), and never broke anyone
With the s7 edge I'm using it for three months and never used one, both crystals are like new, but I'm using a spigen case because samsung's sucks
I don't use a screen protector or any protection at all, and my device (which I bought in March, shortly after its release) looks just fine. No scratches on the body, and I only have a teenie tiny scratch on the screen, which isn't bothering me. If you're the type of person who throws his stuff around, then I'd get some protection. If you're like me and you love using your devices naked, then go ahead and do that. Just DO NOT keep your phone in the same pocket with your keys etc. That will 100% scratch up your phone. Keep it generally far away from metal parts, including metallic zippers on jackets/hoodies/jeans!
I've had mine since before the official release (Tmo FTW) and I've never had a screen protector on it. I do use a Spigen black TPU case, but my screen has 0 noticeable scratches on it. You can find one or two if the screen is off and you're looking for them, but if the screen is on, you couldn't see them if you tried.
i havent had a screen protector since day one and have to scratches on mine. still looks brand new
I got a WriteRight flex screen protector (film style) from Staples in Ontario, Canada. Came with 2. First one is still on and doing well to stop simple scratches from car keys and such. It seems like there are no good options for glass protectors due to the edge. I usually would always use a glass protector + skin on body. This time i have a case that is banana-shaped to protector the screen if it falls face down and the film protector for minor scratch protection. Decent combo.
I tried multiple screen protectors and all of them were actual garbage because of the edge screen. I've been using mine without a screen protector for the last few months. It's just not worth it to me to Cripple the device and stop the enjoyment of using it because of a bad screen protector or because I'm worried about a small scratch. I've had good luck I've got a slight scratch that cannot be seen unless you're really looking for it hard after 2 months. Biggest thing is keep your keys and pens out of your pocket that your phone is in

No screen protector here. No problems ;]
Just like @ flyinj54 said, I keep my phone in my left pocket by itself. Keys and whatever else I put in my right pocket. As long as you do that and don't drop your phone you'll be good.
I tried going protector-less for a while and discovered a small scratch from somewhere. I'm very careful with my phone and hate scratches. After trying a vinyl skinomi wet install which kept on denting/imprinting, a few cheap glass ones, i've settled on the spigen plastic protector, which has been working great!
I too have spend nearly £50 on screen protectors, haven't found a good one yet, and so I now use my S7E without screen protector.
I have spend some fair amount of money on case though, I have a Noreve case, and a Piel Frama's SlimFrama case.

I did that for a while with only the Samsung Flip Wallet cover. It was fine. found Skinomi matteskin screen protector that wraps around the edges, I love it! it reduces glare and also keeps grease and fingerprints off the screen. It has almost a rubbery vinyl feel to it.

Not that much. The scratches are not even visible when the screen is on.

Yes i can confirm this. Even at screen off the scratches are barely visible, you can notice only if you look close to the screen. For me it really makes difference, i mean the screen is much clearer without protector because most protectors tend to absorb dirt being plastic(with all of my devices i used before never had protectors), much crispier and brighter. I dont know its just my opinion.
It's really quite simple. Unless you want hairline scratches (or worse) within a couple of weeks you use a screen protector. No matter how careful you are, this is unavoidable simply from everyday use.
Personally, I use a Zagg HD Dry. I've had the same protector on my phone since the middle of March and it still looks virtually new (bar a few inevitable marks). And with my Spigen crystal cover, it's never curled up at the edges like a lot of people have complained about.
Bottom line for me (although I accept opinions vary), buying a phone worth over £600 then not protecting it with a cover and screen protector is madness.

Screen protector....yes or no?

As the title,i would like to know guys who is using a screen protector or not....and if it is essential for this phone.....
Thanks a lot guys
I am not, I find that they kinder the visibility and touch sensitivity of the phone. I honestly do not generally keep devices long enough to worry about scratches and if they get bad enough I have premium care for that... The bit of extra money for a claim compared to a good protector is worth being able to use the expensive device in all of its glory!
I have always been against it but I scratched my screen while climbing a few rocks. Really wish I had a screen protector. For daily use, its not needed just while doing stuff like climbing mountains or something.
I use a film screen protector on the S8+. On previous phones I've used tempered glass. I want to prevent the micro scratches that come from keeping the phone in my pocket and the protectors do a good job in that regard.
I always use ScreenKnight. from S6 on. due to curved screen... all the glass one are ****.
and it is great. you don't even see it, and less fingerprints.

I have recently bought this phone, awaiting for Clear View case and not bothering for a screen protector. I have a wonderful experience with my old good Galaxy S1 (Vibrant), both my kids grew with it, never used a screen protector and it's still in excellent state (use it as back up phone and as hotspot)! Before S8, including these days until I get the cover, I had LG G2 which has an incomparable lower quality display, already 2 times broken. I hope the new S8 display (which is gorgeous, no doubt) is as resistant as the one of the first Samsung's flagships.

At the moment I don't, but could get matte screen protector in the future as I don't like to see fingerprints on the screen. Normally if you don't drop your devices, then screen protector isn't needed. Manufacturers want us to believe it is essential just to make money. The sad thing is that if phone costs that much, can't the OEM just include a nice case, screen protector so the customer would be protected from day one?!
Throwing in my experience here, I just went to the Geek Squad section in best buy and they printed and cut out a custom screen protector for my s8+ and it's been doing great since (Like..6 hours ago heh). Got a VRS High pro shield on it as well.

What cases don't block screen edge in Game Launcher Full Screen Mode?

I'm finding my I-Blason Armorbox case cuts off part of the screen on the sides where the Edge curve is (and causes my screen protector to keep trying to come off after a perfect install) just enough that I can't read some things and blocks enough to be annoying. What cases provide awesome protection (I liked this one for the kickstand and all around protection (no screen protector included), but will allow for full screen mode? I'm not looking for one with a built-in screen protector as it seems to be hit and miss and don't really care for one. I put my own matte screen protectors on.
Any ideas? I am sending back the Armorbox case on Amazon tonight and would like to know what would be a good buy and won't block the screen edge and allow full screen view and full edge access.
Thanks in advance you guys!
I'm using Dome Glass with the Samsung Ultimate back protector, works perfectly
I have a "Reveal Series" case by encased. 16 dollars on Amazon, comes with a belt clip. Glass Screen protector friendly (in using one by body guardz). Very minimal case, but their holsters are top notch. I had one for my v20, fell one the holster and it didn't break and my phone stayed in it.

Credit card case, screen protector, and recommendations for single-handed operation?

Just bought the S9+ coming from an S5.
With the curved screen I'm guessing that's it's very important to get a tempered glass screen protector that fits and a case that is confirmed to match?
- I want to get a case like this (but for the S9+) to carry my cards:
https://www.amazon.com/Silk-Galaxy-Wallet-Case-Protective/dp/B07B4J9SQB
- I also want to get a tempered glass screen protector that will work with such a case and not pop out or anything because it doesn't fit inside the edges of the case.
- Lastly, this is my first massive phone at 6.2". I have small hands, so what can I get to help with one-handed operation? Maybe something like this?
https://www.amazon.com/TORRAS-Rotation-kickstand-Universal-Smartphone/dp/B01N5LZE3F
I have the spigen slim armor cs case. It's held up very well. I like that another company sells a compatible belt clip. That's gold. For me.
https://www.amazon.com/Spigen-Galax...cs+s9+plus&dpPl=1&dpID=41J7xCe1ZlL&ref=plSrch
I use the whitestone dome glass. Pricey, but well worth it. I strongly suggest watching the videos a LOT before trying it. I messed up the first try, but nailed it the other 2 times. Their warrenty is better than other companies. 10 dollars to get a replacement if it breaks, and you don't have to mail back the old one. Just re-submit your Amazon receipt, a picture of the damage, and they usually ship within a day and takes 2 days to show up.
Not only that, but it holds up much better than the ones with just glue on the edges. I drop my phone a lot and they literally just pop off. One suggestion on the whitestone. There's a 2 pack for 15 dollars more. I'd grab that so you always have a backup. I'm currently waiting for my replacement, and have a cracked protector. I wish I'd thought of it personally.
The one downside to the dome is its not compatible with all cases. Even with the Spigen, the case is only a hair taller than the glass. Which means that if it lands on a corner, it'll crack the protector. Overall though, many drops that would crack or pop off the junk screen protectors doesn't on the whitestone.
