What cases don't block screen edge in Game Launcher Full Screen Mode? - Samsung Galaxy S9+ Accessories

I'm finding my I-Blason Armorbox case cuts off part of the screen on the sides where the Edge curve is (and causes my screen protector to keep trying to come off after a perfect install) just enough that I can't read some things and blocks enough to be annoying. What cases provide awesome protection (I liked this one for the kickstand and all around protection (no screen protector included), but will allow for full screen mode? I'm not looking for one with a built-in screen protector as it seems to be hit and miss and don't really care for one. I put my own matte screen protectors on.
Any ideas? I am sending back the Armorbox case on Amazon tonight and would like to know what would be a good buy and won't block the screen edge and allow full screen view and full edge access.
Thanks in advance you guys!

I'm using Dome Glass with the Samsung Ultimate back protector, works perfectly

I have a "Reveal Series" case by encased. 16 dollars on Amazon, comes with a belt clip. Glass Screen protector friendly (in using one by body guardz). Very minimal case, but their holsters are top notch. I had one for my v20, fell one the holster and it didn't break and my phone stayed in it.

do you use a screenprotector?

Do you use a screenprotector on your trinity? I do, one from Brando, but I don't like it and am thinking about removing it...
Is anyones screen already damaged?
Is it possible to put it perfectly at all ?! I mean I must be in a totaly sterile envoirement with gloves and special suit and God knows how and what skill I must have to put it right
My Trinity is one day old but I will surely remove it in a couple of days, can't look at it with this ugly bubbles beneath
The first thing I do when I get any new device is get a screen protector for it, and it goes on before I ever start using the device. I've gone through a lot of PDA's over time and one thing I can say is that you get better at putting on the protectors and you get used to the odd bubble or piece of dust underneath. It's far better than what happens to your screen without a screen protector over time.
The best way to put the protector on is to carefully peel just a bit of one edge and line it up at the top of the screen. Then use the included card to slide the rest down the screen, the paper backing will peel off as you do this and it helps to prevent bubbles and dust getting on the stick side of the film.
If you don't like bubbles, try a brand that is not adhesive. Most people don't like the type that slips under the case but I do. I've been using NuShield protectors for a couple of years on 4 different PDAs and they are great IMO. I don't use a case (store in pocket) and NuShields are very durable - easily lasting 6 mo.
I'm using a brando ultraclear for K-Jam in my p3600... it works perfect... I haven't any sort of bubbles because i put it the first day i got my new device.. so device under it was very clean and the result is PERFECT

Completely agree!
I'm using Covertec Screenprotector(for S100), and it works like hell!
The screenprotector is about 1-1,5 mm thick, so it's pretty thick compared to many other brands, but the advantage is that it's almost impossible to get airbubbles, and the screenprotector is 110% clear! So you won't even see it's there!
Comes in a pack with two protectors, one with UV-filter, and one which is ultra-clear...
Can highly recomend them... No need for a "anti-bubble-wiper-thingy"
1.5mm thick?!?!?! That's thicker than a "anti-bubble-wiper-thingy". I have wetsuites that thick. You talking about a case or a screen protector?
LOL
No offense - just having fun. Some are actually quite thick in comparison.
Hehe! Well, ok; maybe it's a bit thinner... But it's about the thickness of a playing card, and just as stiff as one too...
And no, it's not a casing, or a wetsuit... Maybe a drysuit haha!
I use protector, but got 2 bubbles which I want to try to remove.
Can anyone tell me how to remove the protector without using anything thin and sharp?
Asbjørn
Tape. Take a 1-2 inch long piece of tape and press one end on a corner of the protector. Then pull
I can't get my screenprotector removed...not even with tape
Hate screen protectors. Don't use them. My nephew has a Jam which is years old and hasn't had a protector. NO screen scratches -- only a little dullness where the SIP keyboard is but that buffs out in seconds once a year using Displex. No scratches from keys even though it's subject to some abuse and the casing is scratched and dented. Thus I myself have no crap on my P3600's screen.
Im not a fan of cases or screen protectors, but I got 1 for my p3600. Its pretty good, I just wish it was about 2mm wider, since the left edge doesnt quite go till the very end of the screen which is annoying.
I got my screen protector from 'Javoedge.com' , it cost me about £8.50 but it is worth every penny.
It is cut to the exact size of the Trinity screen and fits really well. It is so thin that it slides beneath the White plastic case of my Trinity and the screen itself, so there are no edges of the screen protector to be seen.
I agree that you must take your time when installing it to try and get the edges straight, but when it's on it fits and looks great.
I opted for the super clear version and not the anti-glare version.
Great product!
Invisible shield from ShieldZone.com
I'm using an "Invisible Shield" from ShieldZone.com for my P3600. At the time I got mine, it didn't exist any pre-cut version for the P3600, so I ended up with a pre-cut TyTN shield, since they have the same screen size.
The first 2-3 days the result wasn't that good as I had some bubbles under the shield, but they disappeared after some days.
Watch the demo videos on ShieldZone.com, and I guess you will be as impressed as I'm with this shield.

Hi people.
I am soon gonna be a happy owner of a Trinity and i will definately buy a screen protector for my device. Can you please give me your opinion on different brands you have tried? What brand would you recommend buying?
Thanks
I have a Brando one that they now market as a P3600 version.
It sticks to the screen with static so no glue or residue if you remove it. Also this means it is washable too. The static provides more than enough force to keep it on the screen. In fact it is stuck fast. Only by pulling a piece of tape stuck to it by both ends will remove it.
My only problem is more with screenprotectors in general. Since they add extra thickness to the screen they do affect the sensitivity of the touchscreen. So for a while you will write with the stylus and you wont be using enough force. You get used to it, but it would still be nicer to find a thinner membrane.
Mine is a Clear Touch Crystal from Boxwave. I've used Boxwave's products for years and found them to have very high durability and quality. The screen looks like it has nothing on it at all when the device is on. I find that it actually seems to improve touchscreen accuracy and feel.
The only problem I have had with screen protectors in general is that if they are cut too close to the borders of the screen, that is, if they fit too well, they seem to interfere with the screen's ability to detect taps. I think it is interfering with the digitizer. Every time I have installed a protector PERFECTLY leaving no gaps on any side, the screen stops responding until I remove the protector and reinstall it with the edges trimmed in about 1 mm on all sides. I don't think that you need to have all edges trimmed, but I do it for uniformity's sake.
Hope this helps someone who gets a protector and then thinks they broke their device by installing it like I did my first time.......ahhh to be young again.....
@olsenbjo
Does the Invisible Sheild cover the entire device, or just the screen?
Thanks!

Screen Material

This may seem like a stupid question but: The screen is made out of plastic, not glass, right? How easily does it scratch? How does it do in a pocket without a case?
Thanks
Put it this way; I'm very careful what I put in my pocket with the phone, definitely no keys, coins or lighters. I took off the sony screen protector because it doesn't even cover the whole screen, and you'd need to cut off the tab on one corner if you were to use it permenantely.
I have a very basic carphone warehouse "cut to fit" protector on mine now, the protector itself isn't particularly scratch resistant (that is to say it's sh!t) but at least the screen doesn't take a beating.
One thing I do kindof like is that I've cut the protector down to such a size that it pops just under and between the bevel and the screen. It was bloody difficult to get the thing in there properly and without any dust, but worth it imo for the final result.
always use a screen protector, that way you don't need to bother having care of the screen.
once the protector is scratched, remove and put a new one.
I used the stock one 5-6 days ti'll the Martin Fields I ordered came to my house.
Also I bought a Waterfield suede jacket that fits perfectily the xperia and is really thin, but protects from scratches the x1 itself.
Thank you for the replies! I should order these along with my phone?

Screen Protector - A Must?

How many of you are using a screen protector?
I just can't install this damn thing without making bubbles between the screen
and the screen protector.
Tried putting invisible shield today which covers the entire device. it came with
some spray to avoid dust but i'm still not happy with it. on the back it's ok, but
the front shield was so ugly and unclear that made me to remove it and now
i'm with no front protector at all.
The screen is more clear now but i'm afraid to scratch it.
Does anyone know how to install the screen protector in a way which it will be
totally unnoticeable?
I haven't ever used one, I find they make the screen less responsive. I do have a few scratches on my screen though but they are invisible when the screen is backlit...

Your screen protector is a must as scratches can appear on your screen very easily without it.
As for the bubbles I've managed to get mine on with only a couple of bubbles around the speaker & 3G camera. Doesn't bother me to much any more
Try this thread as it has a number of recommendations on which is the best screen protector to use
Yes, the screen protector is a must!
Especially for a device with such a huge display. I have read here about cracked displays and I am sure that screen protectors give added resistance against cracking (besides their primary function against scratches).
It takes PATIENCE to apply one though. I wasted 2 before i managed to put one flawlessly (well almost)
Some of the protectors can be washed and re-applied.
Do you really think it has some impact on the way the screen respond ? Does the screen protector makes the bends more noticeable when you press on the center of the screen ?
I've used my Universal for over 3 years with no scrren protector, and there is a mark in the top right where the X icon is but no other issues. However the Universal is a clam shell design so the scrren is protected when it's in my pocket. I don't think I'd want to use the HD without one.
I couldn't fit the screen protector that came with the HD properly because it has to be done with microscopic precision. However I bought 6 protecoter for £3 on Ebay from Ecell and am very happy. They're much easier to fit because they're a fraction smaller, plus you can use a couple to practice with and still have spares left over.
I use the protector from day one and I can't imagine not using it. It's just too much of a risk, and by watching my used protectors, how they're covered with scratches, some of them quite big and quite deep. I would not want to have this permanently on my screen.
I have bought some additional protectors as well. I predict I will be changing protectors every 3 or 4 months.
I have no idea why everyone seems to have so much problems with applying them. It was very easy for me to apply both the stock protector and the Brando protector. Just clean the front screen as thoroughly as possible with a piece of cloth that does not leave those small fabric hairs. I used a cleaning cloth for glasses, and put a few drops of window cleaning fluid as well to remove eventual grease.
After that it was piece of cake. Started at the top and just rolled down the protector in one smooth move. Had 1 bubble, which I simply pushed to the edge of protector until it was gone.
I reccomend you do all of this in a dust-free environment. Bathroom is a good place, for example. Let the dust settle for like 20 minutes before going in. Avoid rooms which have carpets and such stuff.
I used mine for the first month+ without the screen protector and sustained no scratches. I have one on now simply because one day I was putting stuff away, saw the screen protector, put it to my HD and it went on perfectly without trying, so I decided to keep it on.

GoldCoin,
Have you tried buying on from a phone shop and asking them to install?
I installed mine as soon as I removed the "do not sit down with the HD in your pocket warning" Best way to ensure that the screen is clean. Took a couple of attemps to get it started but a little effort and I got it. Left with a small bubble round the ear piece and one top right, but that looks like a slight defect in the protector as the alignment looks almost perfect.
When installing, I peeled back a portion of the protector and aligned it best I could - incidentally, I placed the HD back in the foam that it came in to hold it firm. Without peeling any more off I try to gauge the alignment. If I think is good to go, I slowly peel the backing whilst rubbing my finger back and forth across the area just stuck down.
Here's another suggestion. PSP Screen Protector installation
Good Luck,
Yes, it's a must!
I use a screenprotector and it has lot's of scratches on it, which otherwise would be on the screen itself
Absolutely!
I Use clear-coat and are very satisfied (had it on my diamond as well and have it on my psp)
Once you get a mark on the display u will regret going without.
Thank you all for sharing your opinions. already ordered a Brando protector + 3 extra just in case i will mess things up again.
Following Rozenthal advice i think i'll apply it in the bathroom this time and not in my dusty workroom.
Bubbles are not problem. After installing screen protector just take you credit card. You can remove all bubbles with credit card.
Just adding my two pennies worth. I haven't ever used a screen protector on any of my previous phones. However Touch HD is a little bit special (as we know) so I invested. The one that came with was utter....well it was naff. I bought an invisible shield but some areas didn't dry and adhese correctly....so I opted for Exim...now this was awesome....a few attempts later and I have it installed with no bubbles at all using a credit card to apply.
(Top Tip: use selotape to remove any unwanted dirt from the screen before installing....the static tends to draw dust to it straight out of the packet....helped me anyway!)

For what it's worth, it wouldn't hurt to use a can of dust remover or compressed air to spray the area before applying. Worked for me. Just a thought.
Does the normal screen protector that comes in the box makes the screen feels like bending when u press on it ? in the center specifically ? and makes you need to press harder when u tap ?
Invisible shield on mine and wouldn't be without a screen protector on any of my devices with my way of using them and pocketing them they tend to get scratched but loving the invisible shield. Should be installed at the factory imo

I've always used one, XDA mini, Kaiser and now the THD.
In all cases I've found the sensitivity is affected but to varying degrees.
In each case I've used tweaking tools to change the sensitivity back to acceptable levels.
But im only concerned to know. Does makes the screen feels like bending when u press on it ? I already know that all resistive screens do what i am talking about but does it increase when using a protector ?

I am seriously considering using my s7 edge without Screen Protector, What's opinion?

I bought s7 edge new...a few days ago...
I bought him a Screen Protector puregear, simple a bad screen protector.
And I can not find a good screen protector, In the meantime, I'm not using my s7 edge, because it.
I anyway not love screen protector, so I thought maybe... I will use my s7 edge without a screen protector
Would be very happy to hear your opinions, worthwhile or not ?
If you can elaborate This will help me, thus I will learn more.
Thanks!!!
I'm using it without one too, but I use the leather cover from Samsung(not the flip cover). Just as drop protection and because the phone is very slippery without one
I've spent more than 50$ on screen protectors still haven't find anything that last longer than a week. Somes peeled off, somes have touch issues so i decided to just use my phone naked. The phone hold up surprisingly well for the past 2 months, not any scratches even when i did drop it twice and there were some dents on the benzel.
---------- Post added at 06:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:25 PM ----------
My advice is u should definitely buy a case since the phone is pretty slippery and the benzels are so thin that u might find ur fingers resting on the screen causing touch issues.
Screen protectors are all personal preferences. From what i know, it limit the beauty of the screen, harder to see in direct sunlight, and u cant use it underwater.
Why not using it with a flip cover (but w/o screen protector)?
Best of both worlds, you can show the phone off yet it is protected all-round.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01GTNI076/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I have both. The leather one is sheer class (and better protection), the slim line one is form fitting with less protection (but still a helluvamore than not using anything).
Both make the phone look superb.
I have my s7e from since it came out, i found that my diamond bling scratches the screen when i put it on my ear so bought a screen protector but lasted 4 hours, im not fund of screen protectors i like my screen naked. Have hundreds of scratches now.
who needs a screen protector? I've never used one since like 4 years and all my phones are exposed at least to dog bites (I'm a vet and the phone is always a curious thing for them), and never broke anyone
With the s7 edge I'm using it for three months and never used one, both crystals are like new, but I'm using a spigen case because samsung's sucks
I don't use a screen protector or any protection at all, and my device (which I bought in March, shortly after its release) looks just fine. No scratches on the body, and I only have a teenie tiny scratch on the screen, which isn't bothering me. If you're the type of person who throws his stuff around, then I'd get some protection. If you're like me and you love using your devices naked, then go ahead and do that. Just DO NOT keep your phone in the same pocket with your keys etc. That will 100% scratch up your phone. Keep it generally far away from metal parts, including metallic zippers on jackets/hoodies/jeans!
I've had mine since before the official release (Tmo FTW) and I've never had a screen protector on it. I do use a Spigen black TPU case, but my screen has 0 noticeable scratches on it. You can find one or two if the screen is off and you're looking for them, but if the screen is on, you couldn't see them if you tried.
i havent had a screen protector since day one and have to scratches on mine. still looks brand new
I got a WriteRight flex screen protector (film style) from Staples in Ontario, Canada. Came with 2. First one is still on and doing well to stop simple scratches from car keys and such. It seems like there are no good options for glass protectors due to the edge. I usually would always use a glass protector + skin on body. This time i have a case that is banana-shaped to protector the screen if it falls face down and the film protector for minor scratch protection. Decent combo.
I tried multiple screen protectors and all of them were actual garbage because of the edge screen. I've been using mine without a screen protector for the last few months. It's just not worth it to me to Cripple the device and stop the enjoyment of using it because of a bad screen protector or because I'm worried about a small scratch. I've had good luck I've got a slight scratch that cannot be seen unless you're really looking for it hard after 2 months. Biggest thing is keep your keys and pens out of your pocket that your phone is in
Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
No screen protector here. No problems ;]
Just like @ flyinj54 said, I keep my phone in my left pocket by itself. Keys and whatever else I put in my right pocket. As long as you do that and don't drop your phone you'll be good.
I tried going protector-less for a while and discovered a small scratch from somewhere. I'm very careful with my phone and hate scratches. After trying a vinyl skinomi wet install which kept on denting/imprinting, a few cheap glass ones, i've settled on the spigen plastic protector, which has been working great!
I too have spend nearly £50 on screen protectors, haven't found a good one yet, and so I now use my S7E without screen protector.
I have spend some fair amount of money on case though, I have a Noreve case, and a Piel Frama's SlimFrama case.

I did that for a while with only the Samsung Flip Wallet cover. It was fine. found Skinomi matteskin screen protector that wraps around the edges, I love it! it reduces glare and also keeps grease and fingerprints off the screen. It has almost a rubbery vinyl feel to it.

Yes i can confirm this. Even at screen off the scratches are barely visible, you can notice only if you look close to the screen. For me it really makes difference, i mean the screen is much clearer without protector because most protectors tend to absorb dirt being plastic(with all of my devices i used before never had protectors), much crispier and brighter. I dont know its just my opinion.
It's really quite simple. Unless you want hairline scratches (or worse) within a couple of weeks you use a screen protector. No matter how careful you are, this is unavoidable simply from everyday use.
Personally, I use a Zagg HD Dry. I've had the same protector on my phone since the middle of March and it still looks virtually new (bar a few inevitable marks). And with my Spigen crystal cover, it's never curled up at the edges like a lot of people have complained about.
Bottom line for me (although I accept opinions vary), buying a phone worth over £600 then not protecting it with a cover and screen protector is madness.

Anyone find a good screen protector film or glass?

Can't find any ones that I like so far. I know the edge makes things difficult but all the glass one I've seen don't have adhesive all over just along the edge and the film one i bought doesn't stay down on the edge so has anyone found a good one or decent one?

I try using the screen protector that came with the ghostek case I bought install it cover the entire front area of phone plus edges let set for about an hour try to put case on but everytime I did it would lift off the sides of the screen protector so I just took off the screen protector till I find that works. Also try the supershieldz ones same thing.

I was thinking about that one but im not sure about the wet install. I'm good at putting screen protectors on but I've never did a wet install before...i May have to check it out
If you have some time and patience go for the Invisible Shield hd dry full body coverage. I originally ordered a Naked skin from slickwraps but its been processing since the 18th. So when my N7 arrived today I went on the search around town and ended up in a Verizon store. They kindly put it on for me, took two tries lol. Mid-install the Verizon guy just rips it and balls it up and went to grab another. When I got home I went through the packaging and noticed he skimmed me on the install. and didn't install the back.. I tell you what that was the worst torture in my life but hey pics below! Came out beautiful. +extra dbrand lens laying around conveniently . :good: winning
I put on a IQ shield matte. I like the matte finish but it is not for everyone. There is some lost clarity but much less glare and no fingerprints. I like the wet install for no bubbles and being easy. It takes some time to let the edges dry so they will stick. Let it sit at least overnight before using or putting on a case.
My case (Spigen Ultra Hybrid)did cause the corners to lift, a common problem with cases. IQ Shield has since come out with a "case friendly" updated version that is getting good reviews. I've got one on its way.

I ended up buying the skinomi matte screen protector which stuck on the edges perfect. Went without a case for a week and then put the spigen neo hybrid on which is my favorite case of all time and it peeled the corners still. I warmed the screen protector and was able to reform the corners a bit and it helped but i still want a problem free combination
This is the case and glass screen protector that I use. The setup is perfect for me. You could use any screen protector with this case. It also holds the glass ones down and keep them in place.

Great case. It works well with a glass screen protector.
I have an armorsuit on this phone, as well as several tablets and phones prior. Was originally skeptical of the curved edge, but it is working great so far. In the past 6 years armorsuits and common sense have kept me from having any cracked screens. And when I upgrade and sell the old phones, removing the armorsuit has always left a perfect as-new screen (but the housings usually have suffered damage from drops, etc.).

The clarity and sensitivity is great. I have one on my phone and my fiances phone. This is the third one we bought and its pretty close to the flat ones. Just line it up because the cut outs are exact. No room for error.
