Is it normal to not have a battery LED charging light? - Moto G5 Plus Questions & Answers

The day I got my G5 plus, I plopped down on my couch, popped in my SIM and then proceeded to install LineageOS 15.
I succeeded. Go me, however I've never seen a light Indicating that the battery is charging. I can just as well tap my screen to see... But there aren't even any settings in the OS for the notification or battery lights. Since I never saw the phone on the stock rom, I can't say whether it did or didn't have a light before I installed Lineage.
Am I missing some firmware here or is this just an elephant in the room you never talk about?

This phone has no notification light LEDs

There is a notification/charging LED, but on stock it only turns on when you charge the phone when it's off. Custom ROMs do have support for the LED, like Ressurrection Remix, Pixel Experience, etc. No idea why it's not turning on in your case.

Charging LED Red, Everything working, Multiple Batteries.

Ok, I recently picked up a used Jasjar (decent price deal) and would make a good backup to my 9000 (when it's screen is fixed).
The owner changed the case on it from the I-mate grey one to a black O2 Xda Exec case.
In the process the owner missed a few things that I have been correcting along the way to bring the unit back to full functionality.
I have nearly everything working except the ChargeStatus/Notification LED.
Notifications are coming up RED flashes (like if i set notifications for voicemail).
Charging is Red, and never turns green even after the battery hits 100%.
The charge works fine and the battery thus charged has lasted about as long as it used to in my Qtek. I figured to try my battery to rule out a bad battery and so I would have a comparable runtime analysis.
Synchronization and all other features appear to be working. Just this frakking LED. Heck, even the notifications in and charging in Red (instead of orange) doesn't bother me to much, just it not turning green when done bothers me. I've charged 3 different batteries (2 known working in 9000 (heck even turn green if I connect my screenless 9000)(heven't tried the one that came with the phone yet).
The Network/Wifi/Bluetooth LED appears to be working correctly with Green and Blue, etc.
EDIT:
I forgot to mention that I have tried different flashes including the same full release I was running on my Qtek 9000 without any change to the functioning of the LED.
Does anyone know what the error would be like if the little battery on the main-board was bad? i.e. would it then never list as completely charged and thus even after the main battery reached 100% never go green since the on-board battery was dead?
Really trying to figure this out as it is ticking me off to no end and I am worried that in it's current state where it stays in "charging" mode even after the battery hits 100% that it will do damage over time to the battery itself.
Any help/thoughts/suggestions/pointers/ideas/etc appreciated.

[Q] battery problem, red led light is blinking, bought new battery, no bettering

Hi guys!
I know, that there are some threads about the topic, but i think, here it is a bit different...i´ll describe:
Everything was OK with my withe G1, since I forgot to recharge the battery, and the G1 switched off. I wanted to recharge it, but - you know- the red led light blinked...i read different threads etc, and then I decided, to buy a new battery. The new battery arrived yesterday, and I put it in my G1, tried to switch it on, and it worked. I was quite happy! I taped it on the charging unit, and the first problem: the battery display didnt moved, it remained at 23%, also after a few hours at the charging unit. I knew the problem, because it was the same with my old battery, but it doesnt interest me, because the battery recharged, only the battery indicator showed that not. I thought OK, dont thinked about it, and waited. Today: I took my G1, yes, battery display at 23%, no problem. I switched it off and after a few hours I wanted to switch it on. Second problem - F**K! The red led light blinked...and now, the battery doesnt recharge at all. The G1 works now only, if the charging unit is put on it, if I remove it, the G1 switchs off. Its the same behavior with the old battery.
I dont know what to do now, because i dont think, that it is a hardwarebug, because yesterday it worked, with the brandnew battery. Or is it possible, that the G1 destroys my batterys while switching it off?
I hope, that there are solutions for this...because im loosing my temper slowly...
Can you charge the battery if the phone is off? Red led light should show. You should wait even 30-60 minutes for this - it depends of battery discharge. If the red light will not show this will means that your hardware is broken (phone or phone charger). You can try use another phone charger to test.
That works sometimes....at the moment not, but one hour before, yes.
I had the G1 with the USB cable on the PC, the phone was off, the light was red (not blinking). I waited about 50minutes, then disconnected, tried to switch it on - nothing except a red led light - blinking
At the moment, there isnt any led light, if i connect the phone to the charger unit or the PC...
It looks like hardware problem :/
Would be OK, because there is still warranty.
But what irritates me, is, that it worked without problems, when the battery was charged. Also with the new battery...worked good, since I switched the phone off.
I only want to be sure, because the return merchandise authorization (rma) takes quite long time...
I have the same problem. last week i bought the phone, and used it till the phone battery was empty. I tried to recharge the phone, but i wouldn't go on, only the red light blinking. I had the phone charged for 2 days, with the og charger, no result. Looked like the phone was dead.
Today i tried it again, still no result. All of a sudden the phone turned on and was charging. It is now on 99%.
Should i contact HTC?
edit:
sorry, wrong forum
Just a wild guess. It could also be the ROM that you have. I had a similar problem with my battery drained out like that with flashing red light. Come to find out later that it was something to do with the ROM (CM6.x) that I was using.

[Q] Can't calibrate battery, no matter what

Hey guys, I have a Optimus San Francisco (Portuguese version of the ZTE Blade) and I've been having some serious problems with its battery.
Ever since I rooted it and flashed some custom ROMs, I have never been able to properly calibrate the battery. No matter if I use the Battery Calibration app or Clockwork Mod, the phone will simply NOT charge the battery to 100%. It will stop at 66% or some other random number. In the (very) rare occasions that I did get it up to 100%, the issues remained.
No matter what I try, the problem persists. I bought a new battery from ebay (just arrived, today) and, to eliminate any possible source, flashed a new ROM (I started on SS RLS5, went to CM7.1 Beta, CM7 Stable, and am now on GLS beta 22).
Just like an hour ago or something I flashed GLS beta 22, wiped user and cache partitions and wiped battery stats. I put the new battery in (was about empty), it booted and was at 1%. I connected it to the charger (remember, no batterystats.bin) and it didn't go past 1%. Then, it powered off. Right now it's supposedly charging while powered off, with the red LED.
Any ideas? Seriously, I haven't been able to use this phone on day-to-day basis for MONTHS.
Might be that your hw is faulty. Is the led working? The led should change from red to green when the charge is over 90%.
Here are the battery calibration steps you could still try:
1.Connect the phone to the charger with the phone powered on, and allow the phone to charge until the notification LED is green, indicating the device is fully charged.
2.Disconnect the phone from the charger, and power it off.
3.Reconnect the phone to the charger with the phone powered off, and allow the phone to charge until the notification LED is green.
4.Disconnect the phone from the charger and power it on.
5.Once the phone is powered completely on, power it off again and reconnect it to the charger until the notification LED is green.
6.Disconnect the phone, power it on in clockwork recovery, and wipe batt stats. You need to use this sequence only once.
Yes, while tinkering with this new ROM I tried a "LED test" and the LED did flash red and green.
I've seen those instructions and the problem is, the battery percentage gets stuck at a certain level and will not get past that. So, the LED is always red.
Apparently I solved the problem by using another USB cable and my set top box's USB. Looks like the problem was in ZTE's charger.

Battery Charging Animation Broken

I have recently installed XenonHD (Android 7.1.2) ROM on my OnePlus 2.
Everything is working perfectly, except the screen that displays the battery charging information when the phone is off.
With the original ROM, I used to have a big battery icon icon in the middle of the screen that would gradually grow as the phone charged.
Now I have tiny orange text in the middle of the screen saying,
Charging!
??/100
It doesn't even say how much is charged, it always says two question marks (??/100) and the text is so incredibly tiny you need to hold the phone up to your face to read it.
Is there any way to change this screen without installing a different ROM?
Thanks,
Tikolu.

need help asap please charger

I had some chinese wall chargers I used for the batteries because the usb port on the phone doesnt work anymore. the 2 of those chinese ones stopped working.
I went to the store and got the bck5200 although its in a local lg box. not the regular lg usa type box. just the charger. no battery
the problem is the light flashes and at times stays on. but its random. its red but doesnt always stay red. at times it flashes and at times it doesnt.
is the light supposed to stay on or flash?
From my experience, the light should stay on, either green or red. I've actually seen mine flash orange once or twice - I never did work out why

Same experience here with the occasional "orange flash". It only happened two or three times. My guess was a hot/warm battery was inserted.
Otherwise, there is a series of flashes when the unit is first plugged into the wall, then the light should be constant red while charging, then green when fully charged.
