I have HTC desire 12 plus and copy of its stock rom. The devise is very good for daily use such as calling, web browsing, multimedia and for light and medium games.

Hi..I bought that phone in November 2018 and until now, I had problems with the front camera, so I took a lot of selfies
but yesterday, I got a software update, so that should be fixed anyways, I will try to port the lineage onto that, since I developed some stuff for android...but I am not promising anything, I am a hobbyist ROM modder...

There 3gb model doesn't work well with multitasking. If I'm watching a YouTube video and get a WhatsApp message, by the time I reply 2 lines, the YouTube app needs to reopen and the video, and ads have to be reloaded and started from the beginning.
8 have 500MB free RAM, the OS is taking most of it. It's ridiculous that 3GB is not enough. Maybe 4GB is. But I'm waiting for some good people to whip out a lineage os build for this phone.

Its fast! You may not save the milliseconds you need but it gets the job done for those urgent burst moments of work. For example, I was on a VoIP call, saw a nice scenery, snapped it instantly with HDR+ ennhanced (Read the camera review for that ) and shared it over to the person via Telegram without even breaking a sweat kind of fast! You get the point!

PS: This is not a how-fast-does-the-camera-app-launch thread. Overall apps in general.

Have been trying out a Lot of Basic Apps, Mostly Social Networking ( Fb, Instagram, whatsapp) or basic things Like Uber, Gmail, And of course Android Auto (Maps), etc.
Compared the same with my son's OnePlus 5, a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge (both flagships) And seriously didnt notice a noticeable lag anywhere.
None of my Apps are in Ram ever..
Mostly Greenified.

I feel like this thing could run the desktop version of chrome!
Seriously. I'm able to play pubg while watching videos on youtube. Or message and youtube which is much more likely use case. The size of the display helps to manage the app windows. Basically if you're someone who does everything on their phone this is for you.
Switching between apps on Android 9 stutters a bit. Now im on Android 10 Beta 6. Switches flawlessly. No stutters. Pure speed.
I've owned the 8GB of RAM Tencent version for several months now and I have not yet seen a single app need to reload when pulled from the background! I can't even imagine how well the 12GB models do. It's insane. My previous phone (a Galaxy Note 5) couldn't even keep like 5 apps in the background without reloading.

App launch speed is okay-okay on MIUI, but with right kernel and Custom ROM, apps launch really fast, I compared it with my OP7 stock, and app launching time is almost equal

The phone hasn't managed to disappoint me in this category so far. And though it doesn't offer flagship level performance (which you shouldn't be expecting either, considering the price) it performs all tasks without any hiccups. I'd give it a 5/5 in this category
