I feel like this thing could run the desktop version of chrome!
Seriously. I'm able to play pubg while watching videos on youtube. Or message and youtube which is much more likely use case. The size of the display helps to manage the app windows. Basically if you're someone who does everything on their phone this is for you.

Switching between apps on Android 9 stutters a bit. Now im on Android 10 Beta 6. Switches flawlessly. No stutters. Pure speed.

I've owned the 8GB of RAM Tencent version for several months now and I have not yet seen a single app need to reload when pulled from the background! I can't even imagine how well the 12GB models do. It's insane. My previous phone (a Galaxy Note 5) couldn't even keep like 5 apps in the background without reloading.

There 3gb model doesn't work well with multitasking. If I'm watching a YouTube video and get a WhatsApp message, by the time I reply 2 lines, the YouTube app needs to reopen and the video, and ads have to be reloaded and started from the beginning.
8 have 500MB free RAM, the OS is taking most of it. It's ridiculous that 3GB is not enough. Maybe 4GB is. But I'm waiting for some good people to whip out a lineage os build for this phone.

I use about 10 apps in parallel.
Many of them are network related tools. I do not feel any delay switching between all of them as fast as few seconds in I need to do.
Browsing, watching videos, snapping pictures, everything works fine.
The only thing that I do not use is any kind of social media. Therefore I don`t have any facebook, instagram, snapchat, twitter, tik-tok and whatever others of the kind. So I can`t give adequate opinion for the people who would use them with this phone.

Err well I don't care much for app launch speed but One game I tried out recently was Black Desert Online for mobile which is a pretty hefty download and this Xperia handset handles the data and game like a boss. Honestly didn't know what to expect but got very pretty visuals loaded fast. I didn't benchmark it but I did also get the same game runnning on a Kindle 8 HD which is much lesser hardware in a tablet but as long as you don't install anything else it will install and run.

Apps seem to open smoothly and quickly without any noticeable lag.
However, I have noticed (mine's the 4GB/64GB global variant) that there is, sometimes, after continuous usage and app switching, a stutter, or jitter, when switching apps.

it's software optimization . If the Xiaomi.EU makes a build for it or pixel experience . You will notice huge difference [emoji12]

Not very fast because of emmc. But for lighter app it launches instantly. But for heavy multitasking it's not ideal.

The phone hasn't managed to disappoint me in this category so far. And though it doesn't offer flagship level performance (which you shouldn't be expecting either, considering the price) it performs all tasks without any hiccups. I'd give it a 5/5 in this category
