Calling up all f700s/l/k or other lg non-rootable g5 users for root - LG G5 Guides, News, & Discussion

Are you being frustrated on cannot have root access on your non-rootable g5?
As we know that @Honestly Annoying released a full adb root shell (facing problems when installing supersu, but our friends on China have been researching on quadrooter exploit for root) on all lg g5 varients, however we have no news about the adb root on f700 (maybe some devices are missing out too) devices. We need someone to test it out is it working or now!
Link of how to install adb root:

What does it required?
Antirollback v0
Android 6.0 (v10)
If you have upgraded to Nougat, you can check is you device support downgrade to marshmallow by follow the guide below, and report it to us!
HOW TO CHECK ANTIROLLBACK: (By reddit user supamonkey2000)
Copy this: *#546368#*xxx# Replace xxx with your model (850, 831, etc)
Copy it again and paste into Phone Dialer
Call it if it doesnt go automatically
Go to SVC Menu
Go to VersionInfo

Devices that dont have antirollback (aka antirollback=0)

[Q] Rooted Stock G2 D802 can I update to lollipop?

I have rooted my LG G2, but I haven't installed any recovery, I just have xposed and some apps like AdAway and Lucky Patcher installed.
My phone doesn't even seem to let me do the OTA for some reason, thinks I'm on most current software, which is fine, I know I'm not supposed to use that, but the Mobile Support Tool says I can do an ANDROID OS UPGRADE. So I was wondering, can I just update with the mobile support tool (or LG PC Suite) or do I have to unroot first? Also, If I do have to unroot can you link me to an easy and reliable method please, as there are so many and I don't want to use the wrong one (preferably one that won't require a factory reset on my phone(if there are any)).

Root Marshmallow Lgh340n?

Anyone know when will be released for lg h340n Marshmallow root
I wanna know too ??
i too
I think the only possible root method is Chainfire's systemless root.
But you need to unlock the bootloader (warranty void) and install TWRP. But as always read about it:

The question is how do we unlock the bootloader( or we just tick OEM Unlock from Dev settings) and how do we enter in fastboot mode to install twrp?
I am trying since several days to somehow install TWRP. And nothing works so far for the H340N .
My next idea is to downgrade again to v10h, then try to root (via kingroot i guess?). Change from kingroot to SU, then install Flashfire. Through Flashfire you should be able to install a OTA Update, such as Android 6.0 without loosing root. And then when you have root and the option to OEM-Unlock you should be able to install TWRP through the TWRP-Manager app. Or am i wrong at some point?
Would be nice to just have access to fastboot mode in marshmallow though...
A new version of kingroot was released yesterday. Can someone check if this version can root our device on marshmallow?

No, because there is not a fastboot mode as far as i know
Sent from my C6903 using XDA-Developers mobile app
I've seen some people with LG g4 with the same problem on MM. They can't root withou tunlocking bootloader. That sucks balls. Seems to be that the root needs to be on the boot partition, which is inaccessible without unlocking bootloader. The thing is, will OEM UNLOCK unlock bootloader? That's it? :/
Normally you can do "adb reboot-bootloader" and then "fastboot boot twrp.img".
But "adb reboot-bootloader" does not work with V20a, it just starts a normal boot.
Any luck so far?
Any News???
I would greatly appreciate if someone got a solution to root the H340N with android 6.0. Kingroot doesn't seem to support Android 6.0... :/
Regarding the "systemless root", anyone tried it with this phone and Android version?
I want to know to, and doeas anyone know how to unlock he bootloader, i have allow oem nlock ticked, but how do i actually do it, it doesn;t help that lg blocked the bootloader and recovery
root marshmallow lg h340n
Any news for root lg leon h340n?
Up, any2?
Hi,
...any information on how to apply root on this model would be appreciated, thank you.
Hi,
I successful root my LG-H340n marshmallow a few month ago. It's a mix of several tips found on Internet.
Using USB download mode and "LG Root Script v1.3", it's possible to have an access to partitions and change recovery partition to TWRP. Using the same way I change also aboot partition (with one compatible with twrp).
After TWRP installed, I use it to install SuperSU systemless root.
And It's magic now I can use my SD card and Apps2SD to create symbolinc link to my apps and free internal memory !
I have some notes and links, if you want, I can write a tutorial.

How to root my SM-A500M Android 6.0.1?

Hi!
I've just updated my android from 5.0.2 to 6.0.1 using a firmware from sammobile and lost the root I had previously (super user).
I tried installing from cf-root using the version they already have for 5.0.2 and at first it seemed to have worked, since it started to show my phone device's status as custom, and also to show kernel's status at the black start screen with the logo samsung.
Then, I tried changing an app into a system file using Link2SD and the app vanished instead of working again. When I get to install the .apk again, it shows as an update (of something that is not running anywhere) and don't ask any new permission.
I guess the problem is because of the root I used, but I'm not sure. My mobile is dual sim (brazil's trend...) and the app I'm trying to hide is Cerberus (I have the pro version, disguised, but want to make it "blended" as it was before the Android update).
I did the unroot with the SU app, but my device is still showing as a "custom" one at the system's about (the kernel's status is not appearing at initialization tho).
I want to know what to do to fix that and how to properly root the new android marshmallow. If not possible, I even consider downgrading my phone to the previous android until the root is available (security from thieves first, unfortunately!).
Same Here
Doen anyone know if there is other variant rom we can use in a500M
Wait for CF-AutoRoot
Some A5 variants have received the root file for Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

Not the A500M, yet.
Option 1: Flash CTR o TWRP with Odin. Then, flash SuperSU.zip from recovery.
Option 2: Flash CF-AutoRoot (Lollipop version) with Odin.
PS: If you want more options antitheft, you can use Xposed and GravityBox or Advanced Power Menu modules to disable the Power-Off menu when the screen is locked.
Good Luck
So I can use your "Option 1" to root my device with 6.0.1 even if it's a 5.0.2 method? (I just want to make sure to not brick my phone).

According to the following link this is a soak test, which means it is not the final build and could therefore have some bugs with it:

Nevertheless it is good to see the Nougat update finally come out for the g4 play.

I also have the xt1609 on the May security update. I don't think VZW's locked bootloader will allow downgrading to a previous firmware version and I definitely don't think any non Verizon firmware will successfully flash on the xt1609.
Of course you could always try it at your own risk. However I think you will probably get a pre-flash validation error.
I'm just hoping we get Nougat soon. Anyone know?
These files can be installed from the twrp?

Any chance to update an Amazon version?
I have the xt1607 version n it still won't
Does this work for the US unlocked model XT1607?
Has anyone tried to do this with this model? One more thing. Someone said that flashing this will prevent future OTA's. Is that true? I don't think it would because when people do a soak test they still get the final release OTA update. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks!
Its not working.. I have downloaded the update from the provided link and its not working.

SuperSU doesn't recognize root?

Hey, so I am pretty new to rooting just wanting to optimize my phone a little, I rooted my LG G6 H870 through LG's official website, but SuperSU doesn't seem to recognize my root I have checked with fastboot getvar unlocked and I am supposed to have root, what's the problem?
Through LG's official website you can only unlock the bootloader, which give you the option to install a custom ROM or install a custom recovery and root your phone. Check the official thread in the guide news and discussion of Lg G6 and check the unlock bootloader thread.
