Camra Issue - Please Help - LG G6 Questions and Answers

Hey, I've got a problem with my G6. Since I installed LineagoOS (official) on my deviced, the camera won't record video anymore. I've now switched to AOSPA, but it still won't work. Taking pictures is fine, and on Snapchat i can also record video, but neither the system camera apps, nor any third-party ones record video.
I hope you can help me!
Thanks in advance!

Camcorder problems

Has anybody had a problem with their videos recorded on their camcorders not playing back? It records the video but when I stop it, it stops responding and then I press the home button to exit it and try to play the video and it doesn't open.
I tried sending the video to my brothers n900 through bluetooth and it works but it stutters towards the end.
Is there anything I can do to fix this? The camcorder was working fine when I got the phone.
I tried to do a hard reset which seemed to fix it until I installed the hotfix from HTCs website. It is again not working. When I'm recording I notice that the picture stutters randomly and when I stop the camcorder settings stop responding and videos cannot be played back.
Can someone please let me know if there is a fix for this?
I just found out the cause to my problem. I'm on T-Mobile and as you may know that they don't have the youtube app pre-installed on the device. I manually installed the app myself and it turns out that this was causing my camcorder to not work properly.
This was probably the reason why T-Mobile took the youtube app off the phone. Has anybody else had this problem? It annoying now that I cannot use youtube.
Hello
I have the exact same problem, it seems that the youtube client is the culprit indeed.
Here is a somewhat of a solution, when you want to playback your videos use coreplayer.
That is really useless.... rather than fix the problem T-Mobile just strip out YouTube... one of the key apps...
I also have had problems with video but had not realised that the Youtube client was the cause. Recording seems fine but as has been mention playback is necessary using for example Coreplayer... not ideal but at least it is an option.

Auto focus is more intended for still shots... Canon makes a dslr camera that has a video auto focus feature, and it dont work all that well. Reasoning is auto focus is meant to clarify a shot, a single still shot, it can help in a video but very hard because of constant motion, especially when zooming in digitally.
I have not installed any recovery and to use xcam I need to make a backup nandriod.
I tried 2 other devices and have the same problem.
Are there other alternatives to xcam?
no matter how many cam mods you installs this problem still exists for G2, no solution yet

Snapchat wont record videos on custom ROMs?

Hi Everyone,
I've tried both CM13 and Exodus now and can't record videos in Snapchat on either ROM
Regular camera apps record videos fine, it's literally just snapchat.
Any thoughts?
XDA searching seems to be broken so i apologize if this has been asked before.
Thanks
Confirmed that Bliss-v6.4-klte-OFFICIAL-20160912-1952 works fine
very odd, but it looks like i'm staying on Bliss!

Video recording doesn't work after RessurrectionRemix

Hello guys.
I have a Note 3 and installed RR-N-v5.8.3-20170526-hlte-Unofficial.zip a few days ago.
Yesterday I tried to record a video, but it doesn't work. Taking pics works fine. Using built-in camera software, it makes 2 sounds and shows recording time as if it was working, but after recording there was no video on DCIM/Camera or any of its subfolders. As I said, taking pics works fine and they are saved there.
I tried a few recording apps and none worked, but neither of them showed UI sign of recording, different from built-in software. They start recording, the 2 sounds happen, and they show as if I had stopped recording. Open Camera is the only one to show a clue: same sound, same start-stop, and a message. "Unknown error, video halted".
Since the same issue happened to 4 or 5 apps, I believe it's the phone. My Note 3 has almost 4 years and I never saw that issue. I don't use to record video often at all, but the few times I did it worked fine. Previous OS was vanilla Samsung 4.2.2.
Any idea please?
Hello
In cm12.1 it only works to record video in rr n you have to resort to other apps like cameringo in that app you can record video greetings

Meizu MX4 video recording continuous AF not working

Stock camera of all version of FlymeOS, on video mode, it only autofocus once, at the beginning of video recording. Continuous AF is not working, the only way to focus is tap to focus. Is there any tweak or hack to enable continuous video AF using stock camera?
Other camera apps like Google Camera, continuous focus works like a charm on video mode so this problem is related to the stock camera I guess. there are several benefits of using the stock camera like 4k recording and slow-mo, but the lack of continuous AF in video recording is killing me.
Someone know how to solve this problem?
I guess it has something to do with 4k video recording, ince it doesnt work with other app, it must be a proprietary software issue. You can tap to focus, and in real life this actually works out better than continuous autofocus because you dont get that weird effect of the device focusing when you dont want it to. It would be nice to have the option to change it though. Meizu will never learn.
