Standby led?

Does any standby led flash on your own devices?
There is a led beside earpiece but it never flashes.
Read your user manual. The so called led beside the earpiece is a light sensor and not an led.
The stndby led does not flash unless u have a missed call or sms.
The LED is in the Power button, which flashes when you have a Missed call/sms/email in green, or flashes red when the battery is low, or stays red when charging.

Yes, I found it, thanks.
However, it only functions when charging the battery. It doesn't flash upon missed calls or sms...

goto settings > alarms and notifications and make sure the tick box is marked against LED. Also you can state the length of time you want it to flash.

Is it visible under daylight?
Or do we really have to be in a dark room to see the LED flashing?

No, you don't have to go to a dark room to see it... but it's tiny...
i wonder why they didn't place it somewhere on the front of the device...

[Q]LED lights as status light

Is there an app/ hack to make the led (White LED that indicates charging/ new mail) blink like the network status light??
Its hard to figure out if the phone is on/off and also if there is a network signal or not!!
But it is not a LED, it cannot emit "Light", even you can write a software but you cannot make a sensor become a LED!!

Haven't seen any app yet that activates the indicator though.

you can do that. go to settings>sounds and notifications>notifications>from events select new text message then go to flash light for then select time amount
thanks, but i ment if you could change the notfication type. So its just a solid ring, and doesnt flash.

Oh, well go through the same steps but uncheck flash light for and then simply change the sound to an actual ring tone

no what we want is that, the light stays on, so perhaps if we missed the virbrate or noise, wen we , take it out of our pocket it is obvious we have a message, because the LED will be on

How bad is it? I guess you couldn't find a friend with a camera?
In all seriousness, why must every phone turn yellow? Why not blue.

We need a LED Flashlight App for this phone!

All of the ones I see in the market are white screen flashlights only...
The SDK doesn't expose the ability to turn the LED on/off, so it isn't really possible. HTC has one, but I'm sure Microsoft gave them access to special things us regular devs don't have.
Perhaps there will be an SDK update soon that brings that ability. Until then, we're stuck with white screens.

With the weak-ass LED flash on this device, a flashlight app would be no brighter than lit match.

LOL. So true, and so sad.
When you go to the EM screen.. on the CIT test.. there is a LED test.. it turns on the LED and it stays lit.. actually provides a nice light. Although to use as an app would be a bit much.. as you have to go through \half the test to get to the LED test.

Notification light at the back??

Did anyone notice that there is a notification light at the back of the phone inside the black glass module?
I was at the movies on saturday and noticed that the light blinks for a brief millisecond on every notification.
Edit: Just noticed that its the camera flash actually which goes off.
