[Q]LED lights as status light - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Themes and Apps

Is there an app/ hack to make the led (White LED that indicates charging/ new mail) blink like the network status light??
Its hard to figure out if the phone is on/off and also if there is a network signal or not!!

But it is not a LED, it cannot emit "Light", even you can write a software but you cannot make a sensor become a LED!!

I ask same question 4 long time ago .....

The topic starter didn't ask if people lik it or not
on topic: maybe you can get it to work uaing Mortscript?
Haven't seen any app yet that activates the indicator though.

you can do that. go to settings>sounds and notifications>notifications>from events select new text message then go to flash light for then select time amount

thanks, but i ment if you could change the notfication type. So its just a solid ring, and doesnt flash.

Oh, well go through the same steps but uncheck flash light for and then simply change the sound to an actual ring tone

no what we want is that, the light stays on, so perhaps if we missed the virbrate or noise, wen we , take it out of our pocket it is obvious we have a message, because the LED will be on

Make LED blink every Sec ????

hi all !!
How to make XDA EXEC LED to blink every sec for any missed calls and reminders. I couldnt find the exact registry key. I felt its better to ask the experts here. hope someone can help me.
Thnxs!!
bump
Not sure, but i think it's this one:
HKCU/ControlPanel/Notifications/Default/
Change 'Duration' from 5 to 1
I am confused about your question. Why use the registry hack? You can set those notifications under settings>sound and notifications. Just check the box and set it to "NO LIMIT".
The LED light will only stop blinking orange if you delete or respond to the notification on the screen.

I think the OP is referring to the frequency of the LED rather than the duration, presumably so you can tell if you've missed an event/call at a glance rather than a stare

Thats what i really trying to do..I dont want to stare at LED to see if i have missed any event or calls. Instead if the frequency of blinking is changed, you can note the missed event quickly even if you are busy doing something.
when green and orange blinking frequency is different you can catch the missed call/event very quickly.

I thought the duration was the time between flashes (frequency)
But hey... what do i know
Ohhhhhhh. Got it. Nice idea, but it might be battery draining if left unoticed.
Yes battery will drain quickly. do anyone know how to do it ??

I much doubt it would drain much battery at all tbh
1- it's just an LED - these typically don't gobble much power at all - certainly compared to the backlight, sound and radio functions.
2- it would only be blinking like mad from the time you've missed an alert/call/text to the time you've dismissed it.
I don't know how to go about doing it but now that I think about it, this would be a great enhancement. Any thoughts from the gurus?

Standby led?

Does any standby led flash on your own devices?
There is a led beside earpiece but it never flashes.
Read your user manual. The so called led beside the earpiece is a light sensor and not an led.
The stndby led does not flash unless u have a missed call or sms.
The LED is in the Power button, which flashes when you have a Missed call/sms/email in green, or flashes red when the battery is low, or stays red when charging.

goto settings > alarms and notifications and make sure the tick box is marked against LED. Also you can state the length of time you want it to flash.

LED

Could someone please advise whether the HD has different LEDs for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth? I can only see the red LED for charging at the top.
I would like to see blue LEd when Bleutooth is on and Green when WiFi is On, just like on previous HTC models
Thank you,
Unfortunately, there are no other LEDs for BT and Wlan. If you turn that on, it is not signaled by an Led.
Thank you!

Many thanks for the confirmation....!
There is also no flashing green LED showing that the Phone is on as there was in the other HTC devices. I miss it because I could find my phone in a dark room.
maybe someone can create settings for it? a little program? especially for the status of the phone being on... would be nice!

LOL...I listen to music using A2DP and the LE light was crucial for me. I used phoneAlarm to try to activate each individual lED to ascertain, to no avail!
I see no point in removing all sort of LEDs; even using the virtual button; I would like to see the green and red lights for the telephone-related buttons when pressed to start and terminate a call. Haptic feedback is not always the best solution.
I guess the battery was so underpowered for the device that HTC opted to remove all lights/LED.
anyone that sees this.. can i make a request and ask if a program can be made or some sort of settings added to the phone to have the led flash to let you know the phone is on? or any other clever things you can come up with. !
thankss

[Discussion] Notification Led very bad, solutions?

Hello. Since I dont see any complains or posts about notification led, I create this post so we can share our opinions
I mean, our led is weak, not multicolor, it stops blinking after a few minutes, and when it is charging it is useless because does not blink at all (stays red).
The multicolor and weak issue it´s hardware..So I dont think there is any solution (multicolor is very useful, for example to tell apart whatsapp mesage or group, so maybe is more or less urgent..)
But, do you know any solution for "blinking time" issue and the charging issue. I read that Viper Rom has some Mod or something, but I prefer staying in stock for the time being (however, I do have root)
On the other hand, i have tried light flow app, but I do not get the led blinking, it keeps static
Thank you for your help!
Custom kernels have blink button led lights so the home and back buttons blink , this is excellent.

I think some GPE roms let you choose to have blinking led for notifications even when charging and yes, ViperOne lets you specify how long the led should blink for (its set to 60 minutes by default! lol) and you can also turn on led blinking when charging
Use Light Flow LED app from the play store. It provides an option to set different colors for different notifications.

Came from a long line of blackberry's so the LED is probably one of the only things I really miss. You said you're rooted, have a look around in /system/customize/ACC/default.xml or whatever your CID's xml file is:

5
- change the 5 to 0 and you should get no led timeout.
I also did the following (personal preference, I charge at night using a dock so i like to be able to glance over and see if theres anything waiting when on silent):

false
- change from false to true and the led will blink for a notification even if it's charging.
Terrible LED is for me the only thing wrong with the One. Real shame. A partial solution for me is to install Dynamic Notifications (free/paid app) which give a Moto X type visual when notifications are received. I set it so the screen goes white instead of black and flashes every minute or so after a notification arrives. Still not ideal but saves relying on the crappy LED!

Dear friend the all think with the notification led is so wired for me.I bought my one with vodafone branded new with 4.1. something firmware i think. The notification led in that firmware was bright enough no problem at all. With the 4.3 firmware witch i had now the intensity of the notification led has reduced significantly, plus i noticed that if your phone switch of during to battery empty and then you plug it for charging, the notification led opens for 5 seconds as normal as in the previous android versions....then looses its power again....So i think that this is not a hardware problem .

Yup, agree about the LED, the green/red is a hardware limitation by HTC so lightflow and other 3rd party apps don't work in changing the colour.
I didn't explain the above fully but let me know if you any issues, will be happy to help.

Would we cool if we at least could somehow mix the red/green blinks, ie having WhatsApp blinking red-green and LINE green-red. Is not much but at least would be something. You can even take it further and have more blinking states like green-green-red or red-green-red-green and so on. Xposed module anyone?

I think it's possible (search on the Market). The main difference (I believe) is that the kernel-solution will not drain the battery (other than the power consumed by the lights) and a application should be running on the background all the time listening to all apps thus draining a lot more battery. This is just the way I see it, I don't not if it's really the case!
It stops after a few minutes because It would we shifty annoying if it's keep flashing in 2 hours...

[Q] Using Heart rate monitor red LED as a notification light? Is it possible?

Hey guys ,
I was thinking about this today. Can the Heart Rate Monitor's Red LED be used as a notification light? And customize the way it flashes to tell you vaguely what the notification is about before you check your phone? I sometimes leave my phone upside down; Even the dedicated LED on the front isn't bright enough to see if there is any notification.
Anyways let me know,
Thanks
I want that too
I was wondering about the same thing
good to see other users on the same boat with me
I want it to be turned on in-call and as a notification LED
is that possible ? anyone ?
I thought a lot more people would be interested in this. Having notification LEDs on both sides of the phone and having the back LED really bright red.
Any update on this?
or at least a way to make the standard LED notification way brighter...my note 2 have a bigger and brighter LED than the Note 4, I hope someone can find a way to make this happen...
Same thing I asked and in hopes of an asnwer

i know that Emotion kernel has a few settings to send more voltage to the notification led, and to make it pulse instead of blink.
and it's also easy to make a profile in tasker to make the camera flashlight flash or pulse when you get a call or whatsapp message or whatever you want
you'd have to be pretty deep asleep or almost blind to miss that then
i don't think it's possible to use the heart rate sensor for notifications though, since it's a sensor and not a light
hope it helps a bit :good:

I did use the camera flash as a notification LED for calls. But I don't like it as it is too much like a flash (duh) For example my buddy was sitting in the train in NY and had his phone in his hand and when he got a call, the flash came on and there was a girl sitting in a short skirt across from him who thought he was taking upskirt pics, lol.
And having a red LED on the back is something different and a little better than a white bright flash.
I don't know much about phone coding, but would there be a way to trigger the sensor into thinking that it is taking a measurement, when you receive a notification?

it's probably possible if you can find the hardware path for the sensor, then you could use it with a tasker profile or make it in a mod.
But i have no idea how to find that path, and IF it even works then

Well I know for a fact that CM does have support for the sensor, and its not a hardware coded sensor as it can be used through the S Health app on the PLAY Store. So if you really wanted to know where to start looking I would say start there.
You could decompile the S Health app and see what portions of the system it access's to use the sensor and then develop from there.
I think it's rather hard, not to say impossible if you're not working for Samsung
