yep i am using a samsung note 5 too since last 2 years and it still gets latest security patches and updates do come lightning quick. once i hear a news that update rolled out i check and boom i got an update. also the servers are fast huawei and xiaomi have pathetically slow servers too.
Any news on the update? 2 days gone since the news on various portals. Really slow process.

Hearing reports that the new update is making the phone lag and causing battery drain. Someone, please post a review soon.
I'm on 305, it gives the phone random reboots. Hope they've fixed it

I've had the update for a few days now and have not experienced a single failure to wake. As far as I'm concerned the problem is fixed. Toshiba has done a tremendous job of resolving problems quickly, posting updates and keeping its user infromed. Well done Toshiba!

Well, my ever-present SOD has disappeared since the update - so far. I don't know that I would go so far as to call it fixed if I were Toshiba, though. On both forums.toshiba.com and thriveforums.org, a number of people are reporting that the SOD persists in spite of the update. In addition to that, people who had no random reboots are now experiencing them. So maybe this is a partial fix, but it doesn't seem like it was just one issue causing all the problems.

If he has had the update for several days it's not the SOD fix update... So as I said before, impossible as it was only released today... Errr, now yesterday at this point... Less than 24 hours ago anyway...

...he's right that he's had it for a few days, and you're right that it was only released yesterday.
Toshiba did a test run of the update with a handful of users who first reported the issue over on their support forums. They wanted to run it through the paces with regular users before sending it out to the masses. That's the update he's referring to, not any older ones.
Toshiba asked that the testing be kept quiet. So, it's not surprising that most people would be confused about it.
Is there some form of manual install for said update? Here in Canada there's no updates listed in Service Center so I'm stuck with a semi-bricked device that needs to be rebooted any time I need to use it.
Seriously though, how does a company release a tablet with a bug like THIS!?

The update has not been released in Canada. You can go to thriveforums.org and get whet wou need to root your device and then flash the 0032 update to your device.

Yep. It's really disappointing.
Why? Because f**k us, that's why!
Likely just an issue of them taking their sweet-assed time putting their bloatware applications into the firmware, and I'm sure they've been extra slow after the official 7.0 worldwide rollout started and was halted for a whole like 2-3 days after a couple of bugs surfaced.
I always get a new phone by the time Verizon gives me an update. I know someone that got nougat on his T-Mobile GS7 Edge and someone that got her GS7 update last night on Sprint.

I don't think it's related to Verizon bloat considering the turbo 2 is getting the update now. I'm really annoyed that one of the top selling, highest rated phones of the year is taking this long to update.

This! Get it together verizon, every other S7 is getting the update why aren't we? Kinda furstrating and makes me want to leave verizon or starting purchasing unlocked models so I can root them and get updates on a regular basis instead of waiting for Verizon to release an official.

My wife just got her first smartphone and it was the Droid Moto Z Force and it already has Nougat on it. Jealous! That thing is monstrous in its size too. Bigger than my LG G3 was!
Stuck on buggy beta
It would be nice to receive the final update after being stuck on the beta for months, where every time my phone shuts off it resets all my settings and themes. But oh well, I guess Verizon just doesn't care about their customers all that much.

That beta was unbearable. Constantly had issues with text messages on it for some reason. They would keep failing to send and I would miss messages from people as well. Very annoying.
The update has started to roll out to a number of the mobile carriers in South Korea, these include SK Telecom and LG Uplus.

I just checked today and i still don't have the update.
I am upgrade now to oreo I noticed two issues
first one the charged while device off is not working:/
second thing i notice bixby vision is available now
its now under test

I was so excited to see this post, among many others, but I have a T-Mobile Samsung Note 8 and still get nothing under system updates. :/

Bull****. T-Mobile updated the version number page for the Note 8 with today's date, yet NOT A SINGLE PERSON has verified receipt of PIE on the T-Mobile forum, Reddit, or here. I doubt they've even started pushing it yet.
According to Des, the Twitter PR guy, it'll get pushed as early as today and if not, Monday. They are updating the page and preparing to push. It was certified by Tmobile today.

Just checked his twitter account. He states that it was approved today. Where did you get the info on if it doesn't push today, then it will be Monday, because Des didn't say that in his tweet.

Cool. Thanks. Nothing like announcing something on a Friday and then making people wait until Monday for it. CRUEL. Got it at 12:01 am last night, so far I've noticed just a lot of visual changes, the clock is moved to the top left corner, and we get more options for the always on display. We finally get Bixby remapping, and it works really well. The Camera mode selections got simplified, and we even get Dolby Atmos support, Idk if anyone else reads the changelog, but apparently we dont need the Dock anymore for DeX support the Pie update allows us to use the way cheaper cable options. Overall it does kinda feel like a slight performance improvement, but let's be honest the Note 8 wasnt ever a slow phone. How is everyone enjoying Pie?

I used the app from play store samsung update checker and it took me right to the download. Downloaded full firmware in 28 minutes. 1000 times better than crappy Sammobile. Sammobile is absolute trash.
Use the Good Lock app to move the clock where you want (Left, middle, right).
Good Lock is a great companion app for Pie.

I just picked up another OTA firmware update/enhancements for my beast, SM-N986U1, CTLB(Jan.21).Received it sometime b-4 05:30 hrs.(EST) via my wc, affectionately referred to as t-mob(not sure after 10 yrs. with 'em what the "t" represents, but trust me the "mob" stands for mostly over bull****!) lol
It's coded as an update /enhancements pkg., as many of you know by the "U" in place of an "S", or Security pkg.(If your confused, that's because I'm a Pro, and good at it..getting folks mixed-up)! For that, I have provided a screenshot with developer notes explaining it's usage in great detail with my s-pen, to help resolve any confusion I may have caused you(unintentional I promise, see arrow). The last one you received CTLB was an actual software update or enhancements received, as if they tweaked something in the coding to make a device function run smoother, for example. The first OTA we received CTL7 was the security patch for January '21.
