Yesterday, Xiaomi had posted on its official MIUI account that it will be announcing good news at 10 AM this morning. The Chinese firm has today officially confirmed that 40 of its devices can be upgraded to MIUI 9.
The above image shows the names of all the 40 Xiaomi devices that can be upgraded to MIUI 9. It is surprising to know that the company is providing the latest software update to even those devices that are 6 years old. This shows the engineering prowess of the company.

Beamed from my Nexus 5
That's disappointing. Although shouldn't CM13 be released independently to zui?

yes, i too saw that, but the same timeline release for the both newly launched (Zuk Z1) and 2014 released (one plus one)..?
whats disappointing there? You can always run CM13 before that, but it really takes time to get a more or less stable COS marshmallow out and a few months of development work is not much, as testing and debugging takes up a ****ton of time for them... The only important thing is that they keep Lollipop up2date too, including major bug and security fixes while they work on marshmallow. And so far they have done that, libstagefright etc was always fast patched by CM and COS team.
Imho i don´t get why always everyone needs the latest buggy android version on their device, all i want is a STABLE os as i need my phone for working daily!
Reading the interview of Steve Kondik the work to be done to move CM from 5.1 to 6 will much smaller that what was from 4.4 to 5.
So hopefully we'll see it much quicker......
lets hope for that

Upgrading after years

Hello everyone!
After doing essential changes to my K920 years ago, I continued to use it with the most stable solution I had obtained. Now I was asking if there were new developments...

Is there anything I can do to make improvements? Some valid updates nowadays? I'm a EU user, based in Italy. Thank you.
no one can help?

When on Stock Rom, I was able to upgrade till 5.0.2.
Then Feb 2017, I managed to flashed it to LineageOS 14 which is equivalent to Nougat 7.1.2 now.

Thank you.
It will work on EU territory?
Yes, it will.
Update to latest official version (S288) before flashing anything else. (you're currently on S141)

Motorola is known for providing updates within 2-3 months after google release new OS. So I don't think it will take that much time...may be 4 or 5 months max..

huh? have u tried updating manually?
I use the 9, but still have the 8. I check it about once a week for the update (USA version). Since the USA version seems to always be the last to get it, I look for Android "P" to come out, before my 8 gets O. LOL
Android 8 Oreo and Emui 8 is coming to Mate 8 in May :good:

Same As Global 9.1.4.0 and maybe a bit better
I read the opposite...and full of new bugs..
This update is awesome! Better notifications, battery for me still the same. Only report is from face unlock, before apply works great and now dont have this option in config.
IMO is much better.
dont update....lost Theming app, mi messaging, and face unlock with latest update
Face unlock works?

The Theme app doesn't work in EU because of some regulations - just change your region outside of EU and the app will show to your start screen.
What TWRP do you use for this version of miui?
I've tried a few already. And either touch does not work or the phone does not start.
Thanks
