Which ROM would you like to see on the G6? - LG G6 Questions and Answers

Title basically says it all. I'd like to know if you are missing any ROMs you might know from previous phones, or simply know that are great. Or are you already satisfied with the ROMs that exist?
Maybe someone who knows a bit or two about developing will pick any suggestions up to port them on the G6!
For me personally, the best ROM i used until i got my G6 was the Pure Nexus ROM on my old Nexus 5. Simply loved it! Basically Stock Android with a few well thought out addons! But i assume it would be difficult to get that ROM ported to the G6...

[Q] Android ROM for LG Quantum?

Hi guys,
I just wonder if an Android ROM for LG Quantum will be available soon? The phone comes with Windows Phone 7 and I just can't live with it.
Thank you.
I have not seen or heard of one. I personally do not think it will happen as the lg quantum is not one of the more popular wp7 models. Also there is the fact that you can pretty much buy a phone with android on it with just about any hardware config already.
Miss the good 'ol WM days....
There having trouble porting it to the iphone 4. I wonder how hard it would be to get it on this hardware.
not sure if anyone's even tried, or if anyone that's capable even has a quantum. I sure am though and would be willing to help!
Edit: Well from what i understand WM won't be running on the quantum as the drivers for the compatible hardware aren't cross compatible between wp7 and wm6.5. however i've heard mention of people attempting to run 6.5 executables and such (un-sandboxed apps), if that's possible maybe we can boot using haret or something similar. then again though they would have to take a special interest in getting android running on the device, and it doesnt seem like many have much interest in it....
first step is someone running unsigned apps on the device using some hack or possibly something enabling it in the mango update
hey guys! hope u'd be doing great
im a new bee over here and was about to post a new thread with same discussion this thread having,so i feel better to post here than to create a new thread.
anyway, i have also purchased LG Quantum (c900B) and i am feeling very very restricted like im bound with it, @
i was wondering windows phones can have andriod installed on devices, and i was looking for andriod ROM for this stupid phone
any help ?
or shud i buy another phone :'( ?
please suggest..
Also waiting for Quantum Android
I am eagerly waiting for the LG quantum android ROM as early as possible.
It's doubtful that android will ever be brought over to the LG quantum. It is a low activity device and so far no one has gotten android on a WP7. By the time they get it all figured out or anyone cares enough, the quantum will be old news.
To make this short. Want android? Buy an android phone because you'll be waiting a long time if not forever.

Well,
hardware is VERY capable of Android (same as a Sony Xperia Mini Pro or so...) but the bootloader will never allow you to run Android.
Would be like use diesel gasoline on a standard car...

[Q] Pure AOSP Nexus ROM

First of all, hello to all Lg G2 users. I joined the family upgrading from S4 two weeks ago.
I was wondering why there isn't any pure AOSP rom? Is there a big reason or something? We got the same hardware as N5 and from my side i dont know why there aren't any pure AOSP roms at the top of all threds.
Btw the phone is great! And i really fell upgrading from S4 is a big defference.

well that's very simple if we were aiming for pure aosp experience than we would have opted for a nexus, actually that isn't true I'm pretty sure the reason there isn't a pure aosp rom is because nobody bothers to make one, there are alternatives like cm/aokp/pa and each one is better than pure because they have new things to play with, im pretty sure that it wouldn't be hard to make a pure aosp rom I mean it'd be a simple as taking cm, removing all the features and making it look as nexus as possible

Well, i think that pure AOSP roms are always welcome to any device. I'm not a developers or got a lot of free time so i cant create it myself that's why i'm asking.

[Q] Switch my G3 for S4?

So i bought a LG G3. And i hoped that it would be open for roms and so on. But It's not. Totally locked Down. At least the international Version.
And my girlfriend has a S4. So.. I have thouht about maybe trading With her. So i could install custom roms and have some fun et cetra.
But Im not sure yet. Seeing the hardware is somewhat different i cant make up my mind.
So I'm asking here. Would it be a worthy trade?
Or would it totally blow?
I know the S5 is out and everything. But I dont need that extra. And dont want to buy another phone really.
So Thoughts?
Don't
I am just stating my personal preference, although I think many people would tell you the same.
Keep your LG G3. I have a Galaxy S4 and I have experimented with some popular roms and kernels. It is fun and you discover a lot of interesting features specific to some roms. But you know what? Now I'm back to a near-stock ROM called hyperdrive, and if I want to go back to stock, I would do it without hesitation. You see...Samsung manufactures my Galaxy S4, and develops the software specifically for it. LG manufactures your LG G3, and develops the software for that specific device. So, in most cases, the stock ROM is the perfect one for your device, and OEMs(Samsung, LG) provide you with content that can only run on your ROM. In my case, the custom ROMs had awesome features, but the also had bugs no matter how long i waited, and the photos I took were not that great compared to the stock ROM. Besides, when I am on the stock ROM I can run a program by Samsung called SideSync which mirrors my device's screen onto my non-Samsung PC, pretty awesome right? In addition, the Galaxy S4 is not as nearly good-looking, premium, and feature-packed as your LG G3.
So I suggest you keep your G3, but root it(in case you haven't yet) and install some xposed modules which are going to give you more features than you need. That is what I would do.

I agree and furthermore, G3 is really powerfull, much more than S4 and its camera is far better.
After all S4 is last year model and can be compared to G2 not to G3.
Also price is very different, G3 about 600€ when I just bought my S4 for 298€!!!
This said, S4 is a GREAT device, but G3 is far better. Keep it

I have to somewhat disagree with that. I could never get myself to like Samsung's TouchWiz. Instead, I've now been running CM11 for a while, and I could not be happier. That said, if I had the choice, I would also have kept the G3. It's not always that easy to find a custom ROM that you would be willing to stick with in the long run, and like Zheen said, you can now get many of the advantages previously only found in custom ROMs using xposed. Not to mention the improved hardware the G3 has over the S4.
Lastly, there is also always a (tiny) chance the G3 community might after some time find a way to bypass the locked bootloader (Loki & etc). After all, this has happened to other popular models before.
keep your G3 , before or after Handy custom roms , it's a very new model so be patient with him. besides , it's a real missile, no ?? you want most ???

Possible to build a pure AOSP rom for N910F?

Hey XDA, I've been looking for a pure AOSP rom for the Note 4 for a while because I'm not a fan of AOSP derivatives with all their extra customisations. Seeing as my warranty has ran out and I've still not seen anything in development, I figured I could probably give it a go myself. However, I've not done any developing since the days of the HP TouchPad having android ported across so it'd take a bit of work on my part (which I'm willing to commit).
All I wanted to know is if there is a glaringly obvious reason that I'm missing for why no one has developed a rom like this for the Note 4?
I have a Nexus 5 which will be good for getting back into practice compiling roms, and an LG GPad 8.3 running a pure AOSP rom which will be good for practicing too. Anyone else interested in this?
Cheers, Will.

sprint supported ROMS (FULL LIST?)

For as popular of a device as this is, and with Sprint being the primary Pusher of this device, I'm surprised that we have such a small group of developers in here for the Sprint variation. I'm also pretty shocked that we only have the Viper ROM and the Bad Boys ROM as well as one stock ROM.
Is the Maximus HD ROM not compatible with our phone? Unfortunately Bad Boys is a little too mundane for me, it runs great but it's very boring what I'm looking for at the moment. That being said the pendulum swings pretty hard to the other side if you were to go with something like Viper ROM which is way too much in terms of customization. Besides last I checked with the Viper Room there was so much stuff that was intended to work such as the Viper library, but nobody seemed to really contribute to. Plus I have a Viper key for the M9 I think I would have to buy a new one for the HTC u11 right? Anyway I'm pseudo rambling so I'm going to go ahead and cut to the chase here. It would be nice to see something aosp related or Lee Droid support for the Sprint variation.
Who's with me?
Need to look here buddy https://forum.xda-developers.com/u11/development. Don't know about MaxumisHD but pretty sure LeeDroid's work on Sprint. There is a whole 3 ROMs in the International Thread. I would ask in both threads to be sure. I don't think you will see an AOSP Rom exclusively for Sprint. It is still a little early on ROM development.
