Does the firmware for the H918 (T-Mobile V20) work on the H910 (AT&T V20)? - LG V20 Questions & Answers

Hello, after receiving the wrong phone from Amazon twice now and them saying they won't be able to get me the H918 after that, I may just stick with the H910 instead of switching to another device entirely. I want to switch firmware because from what I am seeing online in a few people, AT&T has hardcoded stuff in the H910 ROM that is causing the two main issues I'm having with the phone (I returned it already, but I can order it again if I'm able to switch to the H918 ROM): Sending and receiving MMS does not work, and tethering/WiFi hotspot does not work, because both are trying to connect to AT&T's services when I am on T-Mobile. Anyway, back to the original point: Would I be able to put the firmware for the T-Mobile (H918) version on the AT&T version (H910)? And if I can, how?

Guessing it would be safe to assume nobody really knows?

No, you cant because they are not exactly the same phone internaly, because tmobile doesnt lock the bootloaders on their phones. AT&T and Verizon phone have the bootloader locked and also LG UP (The tool used to flash the firmware) wont let you load the h918 firmware to a h910 because it will brick.
What you can do is install a custom rom like linage os that will enable wifi hotspot and most of the AT&T locked stuff.
(Note:There is no current way to get back to stock on the AT&T Variant (H910) )

LG G3 D852 on Wind?

Im hoping this phone can work on wind mobile. i did some minor searches but i didnt see anything concrete on making this work.
Right now its on bell network. it was a friend and she was going to sell it since she got a new phone. Buuut im on wind. Its on android 6.0.
Status update.
can easily root with kingroot. but when i try to flash a recovery with flashify it gets an error "boot verification fail" on start up. Disappears then a black screen. i have to pop the battery just to restart it.
Im getting frusterated.

got the d852 the correct one. And the thing is not working. This is also a bell phone and im trying to bring it to wind as the title suggests.
You need to use autorec for the d852 from the play store to get twrp working. Use the one for which ever version of android you're on. If you are on lollipop, use autorec for lollipop. There's also a version for marshmallow. Autorec basically downgrades parts of your firmware to kitkat versions which allows you to use a custom recovery and custom roms.
If you want to use your bell phone with wind, you need to have it carrier unlocked. Easiest way would be to pay bell to unlock it.
alright so if i pay to unlock it i dont have to do anything else to it? cuz bell got d852 firmware while videotron/wind has d852g
Update.
I got twrp on. and wow. its a big problem out of the way. so now the next step is for a permanent root correct? And if videotron firmware is flashed would that bypass network unlock?

i tried following this guide but the device manager wont let me install the .inf file. Anyone have any ideas?
another update. i was finally able to get past the port issue. i was able to finish the steps but im not sure if i even unlocked the bands i needed for wind. And also this phone is locked to bell so when i put in my wind sim it says sim network locked. So...i think this is the only step left. Does someone have a method of unlocking it without paying 3rd parties or bell?

S8 Active (G892U) - Help Flashing from Sprint to T-Mobile (bootloader v3)

Hoping to get some assistance or maybe even just clarification on this topic...
So, I purchased an unlocked S8 Active with the Sprint branding for use on T-Mobile network. After updating the proper APN settings, I was up and running fine, but wanted to get Wi-Fi calling back, so I flashed over to the latest T-Mobile firmware available at Sammobile - G892USQS3BRG5. Ok, before you say anything, yes, it was stupid to flash a brand new v3 bootloader, but it's done so no going back (to my knowledge). Anyways, flash went fine on Odin 13.3.1, but upon reboot there is the Sprint splashscreen. It even tried to constantly verify the SIM card with the Sprint OMADM app, which I have since uninstalled through adb.
Any chance anyone can provide any insight into this (admittedly minor) issue? I don't really have any major issues other than the aforementioned Wi-Fi calling is gone, and I have to use a third party messaging app due to MMS not playing nicely with the Samsung version. Any help on this would be great, and maybe we can stir up some discussion to help prevent someone else from making the same mistake.
I'm curious where you got the ODIN you used.
I have an S8 Active, but an AT&T version, and need to do the same thing - I want to flash G892USQS3BRG5 onto it for the same reason - WiFi Calling won't work AND I cannot get cell calls when my WiFi is on which has resulted in me missing important calls.
When I tried to flash I got a PIT error using what I think was the same version of Odin (patched).
I'm pretty new at this reflashing stuff so perhaps I did something stupid?
Thanks

S8 Active SM G892U, was Sprint, unlocked and on T-Mobile. Sprint Update broke Volte

Hi,
I have a Samsung S8 Active G892U which I bought used as an unlocked phone. It's clear it was originally a Sprint phone, but I have been using it with no problems on T-Mobile USA. It was running firmware G892USQS3BRI1 until today
Today I was prompted to install the latest software update ( G892USQS3BSA1 - this was clearly a Sprint update; it appears my phone is still getting Sprint updates, which makes sense, as it has Sprint firmware).
There was a warning on the Software update screen that the update would stop Volte working, and I would therefore no longer be able to access data while in a phone call. I (foolishly!!) assumed this would not affect me as I was on T-Mobile. I regularly use data while on the phone, so I know there was no issue with this previously.
The upgrade has completed, and I can no use data while making a call (I am in a LTE area at the moment). There is no sign of any option to enable or disable Volte anywhere in the settings menus
I did try going into Settings->Connections->Mobile Networks and changing Network Mode from "Automatic" to "LTE/CMDA." (as various forums indicated that doing that would provide a menu where I could re-enable volte)
This made the situation worse - I could no longer make calls. I have changed back to 'Automatic' , and can make calls again, but still loose data connectivity when making a call.
Is there any way I can restore my previous ability to use data while calling?
I am wondering:
a) If there is a way to renable Volte without reflashing the phone (that would be preferred)
b) If I do flash the phone, what would be the best firmware to go to - Sprint (presumably the previous version), T-Mobile or something custom (I'm clearly concerned about bricking the phone here)
c) It's several years since I've found myself re-flashing a phone - I see lots of references to "Odin" as the tool to use - is that correct, and could someone point me to the best guide on using it?
Thanks in advance..
You can flash the Sprint latest firmware over the current firmware and I think that should do the trick because I did it and so far so good but proceed with caution I have no experience in dirty flashing but as long as you just stick to the AP file and don't load the bootloader etc I think you should be safe from bricking because as far as I know when the boot loader is gone you can't repair anything

Question on T-Mobile Variant Amazon Renewed and Unlocked

So I recently picked up the T-Mobile version of the OnePlus 6T (A6013) from Amazon that was refurbished by Amazon. Based on the reviews, I expected that I would have to unlock the sim with T-Mobile before I could even use it. Now that I received the phone, upon booting, there was no T-Mobile animation, and I was able to pop both my AT&T sim and my (work) Verizon sim, both totally work to my pleasant surprise. Now that I'm digging into the unlock/root process, I'm a bit unsure if my bootloader is still locked and I need to take my phone from the T-Mobile rom to the international rom, or if I potentially can go straight into installing TWRP recovery and flash new ROMs.
Additionally, if I do go to the international rom, will I still be able to use my Verizon sim? That's not as important, but definitely a nice touch since it's for work, and I'd like to not have to carry around 2 phones anymore.
Any and all help would be much appreciated!! Thanks in advanced!
UPDATE:
So I went ahead and tried the update process to take my phone to 10.0, but every time I update it, even when attempting through OOS' local update function, when I try booting the phone, it gives me an error along the lines of "FW version does not match SW version" - does anybody know what's up with this? Can't seem to do anything else and have had to restore it multiple times with MSM Tool. Will going through the 7-day unlock process help rectify this?

LG Stylo 3 Plus M430 from cricket - no tethering

Bought wife a new LG Stylo 3+ from Cricket and had it unlocked. Nice device, but only issues now are tethering doesn't work at all. Not USB or Wifi tethering is possible using their firmware. I get a network authorization error that was due to Crickets device CSC. I found some notes that others have used SQLite on some devices to clear the carrier crippling, and am now able to turn on the tethering, but now I can't open any webpage when connected to the device and mobile data is on.
This oddball, the LG M430 is a tough one to find any type of clean stock firmware, and forget about trying to root it. Any ideas on flashing it with the M450 firmware from T-Mobile, AT&T or Canada's Freedom M470 variant? Thx.
