@ValKyre i'm already downloaded latest firmware, but should i'm proceed to unroot my phone first to apply update? Is it safe to update directly to version 6 without downgrade/reflash it first to version 5?

No, u needn't unroot....
In my way use recovery for update to android 6.0
U needn't reflash to 5.0.....
Only coppy firmware to sd card and flash via recovery
(Remember just wait it to finish.... dont shutdown or do anything)

@ValKyre don't teach anything that you actually didn't know.
1. reflash latest LL stock firmware (to unroot)
2. boot once (until you can see the lockscreen)
3. flash MM firmware
4. boot once (until you can see the lockscreen)
5. (if needed) follow the root guide to get root back.
note: flash firmware in stcok recovery, install root in twrp.

that's why you don't know.
if he use OTA to upgrade the rooted device, device can't pass the file system check.
but if you use the the firmware that download from ASUS support site, he can directly upgrade to 6.0.
in the end, @tarzq28 seems to get something wrong.
for safety, recommend he restore the device file system is a good choice.
or, you do have responsibility for his device?

Hey guys, a long time ago i unlocked bootloader of my ALE-21 5.0.1, rooted it, and installed twrp. Is there any way i can update to android 6 now? My mom has the exact same with me and she got the OTA. Thanks in advance =)
What's your full build number: ALE-L21CxxxBxxx - i.e what are the x's in bold? And from which region / country?

Extract the files...
Then put the update.app file in folder named dload and copy that to your local storage..
After that, power off your device and then hold vol+, vol-and power key for atleast 10 seconds..
Then, the phone should start in installation mode..
Note: Check the update.app file size.. If its gratee than 2GB them the above process should work. If its less than you can do it by OTA...

amangeek, being a rooted phone, I don't think that is a wise choice. Unroot first, & then perhaps yes.
----------------------
Anyway RautMike, if you have done as above & everything is fine - well, great.
If you haven't attempted yet, do as advised in these threads instead - similar situations, so apply the same principle:
How to upgrade Huawei P8 lite [rooted+twrp]
[P8Lite] Twrp + official update
I couldn't find the full version of C432B188 firmware to download, which is required to extract the recovery file(s) needed. So, if you cannot either, you can extract the necessary file(s) from B170 (one firmware before) - the full stock rom for B170 can be downloaded from here directly via Huawei's servers.

Did you not read the threads I posted? Just follow them - no TWRP needs to be used in those methods.
Doing it that way you'll lose root, so after updating to Marshmallow you will need to re-root by reinstalling TWRP (for Marshmallow) & SuperSu: TUTORIAL - Huawei P8 Lite Android 6.0 Marshmallow B574 Root

Yes, you're right - I forgot about that!
You can get it from here perhaps: Install TWRP Recovery, Backup Full System, Android Rooting and Recovery Back to Stock (works on both Android 5/6 + L21/L23 models)
If that doesn't work, a 'forced' update does apparently (could be risky though, so make a full nandroid backup with TWRP before attempting): [INTERESTING] Updating system while rooted
Also, according to the op, "When you install update by this method, you lose TWRP, root access and all what you have flashed by TWRP."
Alright, thanks, before i flash the stock recovery, how should i make an backup? I already have one of system that i made with twrp, is that enough?
Oh, anyways, all good Thank you very much, i just flashed the stock recovery with no problems, so happy lol, thanks again!

I have a ALE-L21C55B181 (Italy brand TIM) with TWRP, root and superSU.

and after, how can I update to MM?

Update via OTA Axon A2017.

Hey I bought an Axon 7 A2017 from China and I just figured out that it doesn't have OTA updates because the buyer installed a multi-language OS that prevents OTA .Please I want to know how to enable ota or a way to update manually to the latest android Nougat . Can you please give me a simple method because I'm a real noob in flashing and unlocking smartphones. I want only to update the stock OS to the latest android version and then root the smartphone in order to install some root required apps.
Thanks Folks.

I don't have the chinese version, but you have to unlock the bootloader and install TWRP, then you'll be able to install the stock ROM. Try to use bkores's axon7toolkit
Also try searching for this (in Q&A), I'm 100% sure this has been asked at least twice before. You could've gotten an answer much sooner if you had tried to find an old post that asks the same

Not guides, just people who asked this already. This is really common.
Or you can just go the easy way and try using the axon7toolkit, it will ask you what model it is, and you can put A2017

process is the zip file for b013. unzip and place on root of an SD card. Then trigger system update via system updates in settings. Phone will detect the file. then it's a domino effect after that of updates. Current one is 7.1.1

Just update to B13, it doesn't matter if the latest OTA doesn't appear, you'll probably need to install more than one OTA. Also, if you'll do it this way don't unlock the phone until you get the latest version.

I bought a used Axon 7 A2017. It already has TWRP on and the model number is reported as ZTE A2017 in "About phone".
Currently it's on Android 6.0.1 and I can't update from the settings menu. How do I update to latest Android?
not sure, I'm not a rooting man. I need my phone to be stock. certain apps do not run if you root a phone

You can use a flashable system zip and use it on TWRP, I think DrakenFX made some for the A2017. Otherwise you need to flash the a2017 stock recovery on it (with a flashable zip like tron1's or drakenfx's) and then use the update feature on the phone.

Downgrade DUK-L09 Indian Variant from Oreo Beta to Noughat [Tested and Working]

2. Copy dload folder to your SDcard.

I am on Oreo stable 8.0.0.322 but the rom is very buggy and a battery hog.
I would like to revert to Nougat. Would this method work for me as well?
Also, why do I need to flash recovery, wouldn't the existing recovery work?

Sorry, the link I had for Indian version is no longer active, try firmware finder or ask someone on hihonor forum [every region has different firmware, don't flash the rom of other region]. Btw, I got rid of the phone, you should too.

Getting back to stock EMUI super easily, almost no hassle

Hi everyone, today I will be telling you all how to get back to stock as long as your bootloader states "PHONE Unlocked" and "FRP Unlock"
You will need to install this, this is super duper important! https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-9/development/tool-flash-official-firmware-recovery-t3769279
When installing, you will see the error: "E: Unknown command []]"
DO NOT BE AFRAID!
That is supposed to happen lol.
Installation procedure -
1. Flash this TWRP: https://drive.google.com/file/d/18uHjW73Th8iYKIs5m_QgwleMIOjsZd7S/view?usp=sharing
2. Wipe everything except SD card, then choose "Format data" to decrypt device
3. Reboot once again into TWRP (NOTE: If you are using USB OTG cable, make sure to plug it in AFTER TWRP is fully booted and ready to go, if you do it early, you get an error, which is weird lol. EDIT: Not sure if this error is still present in the new twrp, but it's never bad to play it safe.)
4. Flash HuRUpdater, make sure the file names are correct!
5. Reboot into stock recovery
6. Factory reset and wipe cache partition
7. Reboot
This method also enables themes to work again, so no need to worry about that!
Lots of thanks to @zxz0O0 to providing this awesome tool
And more thanks to the OpenKirin community for helping me out when flashing this! :good::good::good:

Most likely not, the moment you unlock bootloader, you get no updates from that point forward. Just check using this for latest version: http://pro-teammt.ru/huawei-firmware-finder/

Hi !
Does it work to restore on the BND-L21C432B121 ? Because it's marked for 7X but does it works on all firmware versions of this device ?
Thanks !
hi op,
does this work on L24 the usa version?
What update.zip file did you use? can you point to the link?
Also, does this update take the recovery to stock with no TWRP?

Yes, after flashing this via twrp, if you reboot once again to recovery, it is stock recovery, not twrp.

You need to download all 3 files and rename them.

Did you try running the update again? I had a similar problem after I unrooted and reinstalled the stock recovery. It failed the first time but when I rebooted and did it again it worked.
