Short answer.
No, no, yes.
Longer answer.
The S7 edge has a locked bootloader so getting another OS is not possible as with just about all the Samsung phones.
No need to get another phone as there is a way to root your phone with the eng.img way. I am not that familar with the Exynos phones, but I have seen more choices for those than with the Qualcomm phones.
If you don't want to root your phone, you can install the U version of the OS to get rid of the bloatware.
Hope this helps.

Not for sure what you mean by "changing my version to the US version" but if you mean to the U version of the Samsung S7 Edge, then heres the link to how to install the U firmware for your phone. You have the Qualcomm version of the processor, correct?

Rooting

Hello,
I was just wondering if someone could help me with regards to rooting my S7 Edge? I have just returned to Samsung after being with the Nexus 6p for a year (Google screwed over the nexus users with the pixel - hence my return to Samsung)
I tried to root earlier but got a bootloader exception error - it appears Samsung devices aren't as easy to root as they were in yesteryear! Could someone tell me how i go about rooting, flashing TWRP and possibly flashing a custom rom? I would research but all the threads i come across are for the Exynos variant of the S7 Edge. For the record, i have the UK Snapdragon version - SM-G935F.
Any help would be massively helpful.
Best Regards,
Speedy!:laugh::laugh::laugh:

[guide] sm-g9350 s7 edge qualcomm sd820 root | rom + root + twrp + xposed

no, i believe all snap dragons are the same. but just make a back up to be on the safe side.
Hi,
The 935F is actually the Exynos variant, download CPU-Z to check it. So, following any Exynos tutorial would be of good use for you .
All the best,

read the last line of his first post. He mentions that his phone is a snapdragon version but all he could find are threads on flashing the exynos versions.

Hi,
That's the problem, he says his device is SM-935F, however that device has an Exynos processor. Either he confused the processor in his device or he said the wrong model version.

Hi,
Since the Snapdragon version is limited to the US market (mostly under carriers) and the Chinese market I believe there are more custom ROM, kernels, etc in the Exynos model. However that's not to say the development is huge, since the Exynos processor has a very bad documentation and source code releasing.
You can check the development and general threads for more information on rooting and customizing your experience .
Happy flashing,
~Lord

I can see in your signature you have the G935F, that's the exynos version, but just check cpuz to be sure, if yes that's the best version anyways Bootloader unlock is available to exynos but not snapdragon, there are a lot of custom roms and even kernels, but don't expect CM or any CM/AOSP Based rom, sadly, since it's exynos, you will only find Touchwiz based roms

Is the SM-G935U Unlocked S7 Edge rootable?

Hey guys... I have an S7 edge duos and I want to switch to Verizon but my phone isn't compatible... so I was thinking about selling it and getting the US unlocked version (SM-G935U). Is there a root for this phone? I'm thinking kingroot might work but I haven't found any posts via google search to confirm. Thanks ahead of time.
There is using a engineering kernel, but it give bad battery life and performance.

S7 Edge Dual Sim , fake ROM ?

Hey guys.
I'm experiencing lot of bugs on my Galaxy S7 edge dual sim.
Some applications does not work, for example S Health, Samsung Pay.
I'm also experiencing problems, wherr I can't use SIM 2 for Mobile data. After setting it up, mobile data sometimes doesn't work.
Also few functions on side panel does not work properly.
Check screenshot in attachments, there are software informations.
Do I have official ROM ?
Or what can be problem? Is TouchWiz (or Samsung experience) so unstable? Or is it just my unique case?
Thanks for any help.
Download the app Phone Info and post some screens here..

With my old S5 I did.
I bought this S7 edge from second hand, so I don't know what he did with the phone. He didn't tell me anything about installing custom ROM or something.
What should I do now?

Thank you. So all I have to do is install the newest firmware via odin, right ?:fingers-crossed:
/And one more question. Model SM-G935FD does not have Firmware for my country. I know it is designed for Southeast Asia and India, but .. May it cause any problems for me ? Like worse GPS locking or something. I dont think so, just want to make sure
The rom you have on the phone is for the G935F or Not G935FD version.
try installing an dual rom version instead of single rom version that may solve your problem. The G935F version will work but some apps may not work properly.
So I checked everything (BL,AP,CP,CSC) but UMS and started instalation.
/everything looks good, but I will let you know later after some using

Hi. I have a Samsung Galaxy S8, with a Snapdragon 835 processor running Android 8.0.0 with Samsung Experience 9.0. It's on T-Mobile in the US. SM-G590U is the model number according to settings. Sorry if there is TMI. Anyway, I see a lot of tutorials on how to root an S8, and I mean a heccing ton, but I'm not sure which ones are fake. Can someone please like me to a working root tutorial for my phone? Thanks for your time.

No you can go still go back to 7.0 and root. keep in mnd the only rooted rom is extremly debloated..So there are some thing missing and the engineering kernel used for root only allows for a max of 80 % charge...But the rom is excellent 6+ hours of SOT
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/development/root-partcyborgrom-aqi6-deodexed-t3702988
is the thread
Keep in mind because you are on oreo you have to slightly variate from his instructions
As you would be using comsy odin...Oreo blocks this root method and you have to flash the bootloader of the rooted rom first before flashing other parts of the rom as in the instructions..This is to downgrade for say to a slightly older 7.0 bootloader that allowed root and does away with the oreo bootloader that blocked it:good:
Feel fre to ask ?s in that thread as well Most of us are on most of the day and nights
