Can the p10 lite do virtual reality?(Does the p10 lite have a gyroscope sensor?) - Huawei P10 Lite Questions & Answers

can it do vr?

Yes it can. I have it but keep in mind that the VR experience is not that great. Fps tend to drop and it does not seem fluent at times. Also, the screen has a laggy feel because it uses a ips lcd. The xiaomi redmi note 4x was way better at vr but the miui os is absolutely buggy and I had to change it for this p10 lite.

ok thanks...Im getting one tomorrow and i just wanted to know...???

No problem.

I don't think its a good idea for you to use this phone for VR. The Display is 1080p - that means that if you go into VR mode there will be 2 pictures displayed in half the quality (each eye will see the picture on its half the display so 2x 540p)

Honor 7X vs Xiaomi Mi A1 from Battery, Design, Camera and more?

Honor introduced a new budget competitor in the Indian smartphone market with the recent launch of the Honor 7X. Unveiled at an event in London in December, the Honor 7X carries everything that makes it stand apart from the rest of the budget line-up prevalent in the Indian market. A bezel-less display, dual camera setup and Honor’s own processor coupled with its own user interface comes as quite a bold offering by the Chinese smartphone manufacturer at its price point of Rs 12,999.
Speaking of Chinese OEMs, another player in the market has been dominating the budget segment for quite a while now. While Xiaomi started out with its Redmi Note series, with the Redmi Note 4 being the most sold smartphone in the country this year, the company also experimented with its line-up by launching an Android One smartphone in 2017. Xiaomi Mi A1, another budget offering by Xiaomi, came as a refreshing change from its existing line-up which mostly ran on Xiaomi’s own MIUI. The Mi A1 boasts of a pure Android experience, along with a dual camera setup for the photography enthusiasts. Having the same price tag at Rs 12,999, a clash with the new Honor 7X is inevitable for the Mi A1. Hence, here is a comparison between the two smartphones revealing where they come out on top and where they lack.

Design
Honor 7X has an unarguably premium feel to it with the metal casing and rounded edges. The front dons an 18:9 display with minimum bezels and looks neat. The upper bezel simply sports the in-call speaker and the selfie camera, while the bottom bezel elegantly displays the ‘Honor’ sign. The smartphone comes in an aluminium chassis and sports a fingerprint sensor at the back.
Xiaomi Mi A1, on the other hand, looks just like any other Android smartphone. It carries a minimalistic design with prominent bezels on both the top and the bottom. The Mi A1 comes in a full metal design and also sports a fingerprint sensor at the back.
Display
The Honor 7X sports a 5.93-inch near bezel-less, Full HD+ display with a 2160 x 1080 pixel resolution and a Corning Gorilla Glass protection on top. The near bezel-less display comes with an 18:9 aspect ratio display. During our use, we found the display of the Honor 7X to be an absolute treat at its price point, with ample colours, optimum brightness and a crisp viewing experience.
In comparison, the Xiaomi Mi A1 carries a 5.5-inch display with a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The Mi A1 display comes with a 16:9 aspect ratio, like the one on most of the budget smartphones in the market. We found the display to be decent in our use, with the ability to cater to users looking for a regular budget smartphone experience.

Firepower
Just like any other Honor smartphone, Honor 7X is powered by the company’s own HiSilicon Kirin processor. The one backing the 7X is an octa-core Kirin 659 SoC, which is further coupled with a 4GB RAM and a 32GB internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB using an external microSD. The smartphone runs Honor’s in-house EMUI 5.1 on top of Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Currently, there is no confirmation on the Android Oreo update for the Honor 7X.
Xiaomi’s Mi A1 is powered by Qualcomm’s tried and tested Snapdragon 625 SoC with eight cores. In addition to this, the smartphone carries a 4GB RAM and a 64GB internal storage, further expandable up to 128GB using an external microSD. As a change from Xiaomi’s regular smartphone line-up, the Mi A1 skips the MIUI interface and instead runs Android 7.1 Nougat, being Xiaomi’s first Android One device in collaboration with Google. Xiaomi is currently looking for Beta testers for the Android Oreo update for this smartphone. There is no official confirmation for the release of the update as of now.
Camera
Honor has been known for the camera capabilities of its smartphones, ranging from the Honor 8 Pro, right down to the Honor 6X, which set the trend for affordable dual camera smartphones. Honor 7X now builds on that reputation and carries a dual camera setup with a 16-megapixel primary lens along with a 2-megapixel secondary lens for adding depth effect to the images. Overall, the camera is able to deliver very good picture quality. At the front, the Honor 7X houses an 8-megapixel selfie shooter, able to work at 1080p resolution and also deliver Bokeh effect to the selfies.
Xiaomi Mi A1 also sports a dual camera setup, with a 12-megapixel primary and a 12-megapixel secondary lens which together offer depth effect in the images and boast of a 2x optical zoom. At the front, the Mi A1 sports a 5-megapixel selfie camera with similar 1080p resolution capability.
Battery
Honor 7X is backed by a 3340 mAh battery, edging just over the 3080 mAh battery sported by the Xiaomi Mi A1. As the figures indicate, the Honor smartphone is able to last for a couple of hours more than the Mi A1 in practical use as well, despite the Honor 7X display consuming more battery for its daily run.
Verdict
There is no doubt that both the smartphones offer ample features at a budget price of Rs 12,999. While Xiaomi Mi A1 offers pure Android experience to its users, the Honor 7X delivers Honor’s own added features through the interactive EMUI. The cameras and the performance backup of both the smartphones are more or less similar, with their own minuscule pros and cons over each other. The Honor 7X, however, rises on top in terms of the display quality and the battery backup that the smartphone offers. Finally, the Honor device takes it away when it comes to the overall visual appeal of the smartphone, thanks to its near bezel-less display.

I am an old 7x user. Sold it and bought A1. 7x is good. Good design and good battery backup. A lagfree OS. Never faced any lags or stutter in 7x. EMUI is well optimized OS.. No doubt in that...
My reasons for selling 7x is
Terrible charging time. 3 hours for full charge
Poor Potrait camera
Normal Rear camera
Developments
Stretched videos in YouTube
Some games really sucks....
Headphones output is average.
7x can't stand in front of A1 with charging+ camera+ development..
7x selfie camera is superb. Better than A1. Also the battery backup is fantastic in 7x.

This is how posts should be instead of rooting in fanboyism..
TBH I would've waited and bought the Honor 7x, but the 64 GB version is costlier. I want both of my SIMs AND my 30GB music
Ended up buying Mi A1. The phone is decent mid-ranger, but -
> Camera sucks in low light.
> Headphone hissing still not fixed.
> Fastcharging should've been included.
> Though build quality is premium, I wished it didn't have the camera bump. I'd have preferred it to be a bit thicker which a slightly bigger battery.
> Light sensor is janky AF. Auto brightness is thrash.
But good things... well you hear it all the time. Enough performance, fast FP reader, good display (though not crisp enough). Funnyly, I've never gotten 5+ hours SoT, while other people claim to get around 6-8 hrs SoT.

1. Yeap. Camera sucks in low light...The only fix is Google Camera HDR+. But unfortunately u need root. Good thing is now u can take Potrait shot with flashlight using Google Camera HDR+
2. Honestly i don't have that issue. Running Oreo and using Sony MDR in ear phone. Never experienced that hissing issue.
3. Yeap. Fast charge is good if they included but its charging really fast. For me its took 1 hour 44 minutes to charge with Samsung adaptive fast charger.. Even my old S7 Edge ( sold due to family issues) took almost 1 hour 33 minutes to charges from 1 to 100 ...
4. Auto brightness is slightly improved in Oreo IMO
5. Me always getting around 5 to 5.30... Never touched around 6. But thats pretty decent for my usage......
I have to admit the rear camera is very good on my A1 but I am not much of a camera guy and want a phone to be extremely snappy with a big display, My problem with the mi A1 was that while using the device you can feel there is something lacking in the software even after 3 update cycles and that really bugged me and with the 7x I get a gigantic display, excellent
Since all Honor phones are getting Project Treble with their Oreo update, the Honor 7X might also get that. That would put it ahead of Mi A1 Stock android as it would get updates just as fast and maybe even beyond Android P, while the Mi A1 only will update till P.

Pros and cons? Can you tell.me why is it better than note 5 pro?
On note 5 pro You can't play pubg on HD and with Hugh fps, the game even stutters when the graphics are on balanced and on medium frame rate.
On m1 the HD graphics and high frame rate works good.

I have zmpm1 6gb variant and i also use rn5 pro.
Camera of rn5 pro is better than zmpm1 , sharpness saturation levels are far better and no fading when you zooming the pic plus you can record slow motion video in rn5 pro(slomo of rn5 pro is just amazing) .
MIUI is far better than the stock ui of zmpm1, because in zmpm1 there is no essential customization. You may feel bored after using zmpm1 for a while.
Obviously you can play pubg in hd graphics on zmpm1 but there is serious network issue, if you play online games on mobile data then you realize ping is so high that you can't play the game properly.
Only pro of zmpm1 are battery and sound quality both are amazing.
In rn5 pro you can't use 2 sim cad and micro sd at the same time but in zmpm1 you get 3 slots.
Zmpm1 receives many updates but Every update brings new problems.....
So in my opinion you must go with RN5 PRO

Interesting arguments. You think the phone will hold me more than 2 years (terms of updates)
Whyred has miui, zui, zenui, aosp, LOS, OOS by port or by sgsi, but ZMPM1 has in built treble support but very slow development. Whyred is for flashaholics.
Buy which ever you like
I personally bought max pro m1 6gb variant and don't have any issues. I play a lot of pubg and the ping is always under 100 ms. No network issue for me.
And I didn't face any bug or problem in software
I compared the cameras side by side and the amount of details my phone captures with gcam is insane while note 5 pro just makes everything more dark colored. + I don't use cameras so much so it don't matter to me.
Don't know about software updates on note 5 pro but Asus is getting up to android Q. +miui devices heat a lot.
It's your personal choice I preferred Asus over xiaomi. Buy whatever you want.
I have both Asus max pro m1 4Gb and Redmi note 5 pro
Trust me... Get asus....
Battery---I get really low sot on Note 5 pro whereas I get 14+ hrs SOT on asus max pro m1..
Performance -- asus wins
Camera-- I feel camera quality of asus is better because redmi note 5 pro Overexposes all the pics...looks unnatural....
Updates --- Pie is around the corner and We will get Android Q also...
UI-- If you want a slow cluttered UI which makes simple tasks difficult...get RN5P
Asus stock rom is the best...
Face unlock is faster on RN5P whereas FP sensor seems to be same...
One major plus point for Redmi note 5 pro
You can use it as a Heatpad if you have backache because it gets burning hot while charging..lol
Why having this discussion... Go for Redmi note 6 pro or wait for azmp m2

I looked in the forums and i realised that Max pro m1 is getting a lot of issues with the new update : Battery drain. Not my cup of tea.
I noticed you gave more cons on the note 5 pro than on Max pro m1, giving me the impression that you never ever tested a note 5 pro.
My friend who owns a note 5 pro doesn't have any of the issues given above. I agree that the software lags (it sometimes lags on 3gb ram version, 0 lag on 4gb ram).
I am sorry but your arguments are invalid here, but thanks for the opinion, i guess..
Also Note 5 pro has quite a full development range so the laggy software can be easily fixed with a custom rom.

All phones that don't have any kind of thermal cooling can heat. Adding thermal paste that is a higher grade (arctic mx-4) will solve any heat issues in the device, at the cost of more external cooling.
Both asus and redmi use the metal back and frame as a external heatsink. If you play without a case then it will ofc heat up.

I would like to know if it's à good idea to switch from S7 to redmi note 7 And how is good thé Xiaomi in picture, screen, speakers, battery life, power compared to s7.
Thank you.
Didn't have an S7 but did have a Note 4 Exynos and Honor 8 before I got the Redmi Note 7phone.
Honestly, speed will probably feel about the same since S7 had the Snapdragon 820 processor.
Gaming performance will probably be about the same as well.
The screen isn't amoled so if that matters to you, you're probably better skipping the Redmi Note 7 and getting the Mi 8(snapdragon 845) or the newer Mi 9(snapdragon 855 with quad hd and dual speakers).
Either of those will definitely be an upgrade to your S7 in multiple ways...
Processor, functionality, performance, build quality, battery life, camera, gaming etc
Mi 8 can now be had for under $400 new as well if price matters to you
Thank you for responding.
My S7 is exynos one and I know that Mali GPU is more powerfull for gaming. S7 has à good display but it's too little and had burn in.
I want to know how is thé remdi's camera compared to S7 has a good One. My brother buyed à redmi Note 5 pro and S7 photos are much better

I'm not sure... S7 photos may be a little better since it was the flagship of the year a couple years back.
If you're worried about photos, I'd get the Mi 8 or if you can afford... Skip the Xiaomi budget line altogether and go straight for the The Mi 9.
Don't get me wrong... Redmi Note 7 or it's twin brother Mi 8 Lite are both spectacular phones especially for the money to value quotient. They pack a hell of a punch and are popular globally for a reason but coming from the S7, if you're not willing to compromise a little bit in the area of video and photo quality, you're better off shopping for a Xiaomi flagship.
Either phone (Mi 8 or Mi 9) is the flagship experience you want but the Mi 9 will blow you away and be the true upgrade you're looking for

I just got a Redmi Note 7 today, and it will replace a ZTE Axon 7 (Snapdragon 820, like the US version S7), so I'm in a similar position.
Haven't used it much yet, but initial impressions are very good. I just run some tests on both phones in Geekbench Pro, and the Redmi Note 7 won in some areas, while the Axon 7 still smoked it in some tests. You're right, the overall performance should feel pretty similar to the S7.
Benchmarks aside, I'm happy to have a new device that is fully up to date - stock Pie (that I'll dump in favor of LOS as soon as I'm able, haha), a big battery and efficient CPU, a really fast fingerprint scanner in a natural position (meaning NOT on the front), a big screen (any bigger wouldn't fit my pocket), VOLTE, a decent camera, and some support on XDA. It took me a while to decide to buy it because I was concerned about it not having an OLED screen but now I don't think it's going to be an issue - it looks good. Works with Mint Mobile (T-Mobile) here.
Only Day 1, but I'm satisfied so far, especially for $200!
RN7 is way better .. except for the sound quality and the weight (rn7 is heavy lol)
These guys have nailed it!
Think you'll be happy with the phone especially for the price.
I know I am.
Use it for a while.... If you don't like it, sell it for a more expensive flagship.
For me it's so good I don't feel the need to have a flagship phone anymore!
Just saw a review on Amazon with someone who mentioned they upgraded to the Redmi Note 7 from an S7 and raved about it.

I got it this morning and yes, the redmi is so heavy. Sound Quality is better on xiaomi but i was using dual speaker sounds on S7 wich makes a plaisent stéréo effect. Camera is a bit better on S7 Thanks to live HDR, dual pixel technology and à good noise réduction.

Yes Redmi note 7 is next level in term of screen size, entertaining purpose, everyday all around. Battery life 2 days on minimal use. Picture not as good as s7 edge
I replaced Huawei P10 whit RN7 and I'm surprised how better it is comparing to P10. Screen picture quality is way better and camera whit Gcam too. P10 have Leica lense blā, blā, but I don't like Leica look and that camera overexposes picture, loses detail in texture whit smoothing, makes picture to oversaturated and colors too neutral. RN7 whit GCam is neutral, exposes good and colors are good. If You like overprocessed pictures then You might want different camera app.
P10 is not S7, but I can say this phone is good. Only complains are weight, and writing is a bit hard for Me in position as I hold the phone. Of course there is minor things like screen is a bit less bright comparing to P10, plastic body, speaker can be more clear, still usb 2.0, no nfc, no IP rating etc. If You don't want to spend alot of money on phone as I do then this is solid choice. For that extra 250€ I would spend on phone I can buy alot of different things for Me.
Both my wife and I just bought the RN7 yesterday to replace both of our S7 Edge, personally I notice the screen resolution difference between the two, I miss the notifications staying at the top, miss the app draw and the camera start up speed is a lot faster than the RN7. The main reason why we switched though is the battery life, both of ours are the US version which use the Snapdragon CPU which only give us around 4 hr SOT, and I pretty much have to charge 2 or 3 times a day (yah on my phone all day long ) , now with the RN7, without doing anything, I just got 8 hr SOT with 10% left ....so yah wire free all day and way cheaper than a flagship Samsung, I know I can get over the cons very soon.

Plus we can help you negate some of the flaws
To get the original look with the added app drawer, install Poco Launcher from the Play Store and you're done with that part.
Screen res? Can you actually notice S7's higher pixels per inch count? Nothing to do about that though.
To overcome the lack of permanent notifications at the top, install Notch Test (Notifications for MIUI) and set up the position, give all permissions to the app, autostart, set battery restrictions to none, and lock it in the app switcher so MIUI can't kill it off. I have the icons position set to 215 from the left and 36 from the top. Works great and mitigates the issue completely (issue for those of us not coming from MIUI, accustomed to "permanent" notifications).
Camera start-up - nothing to do about that unless Xiaomi updates the firmware to do so. GCam takes even more to start, but the image it produces is more than worth the wait.

VR/Cardboard quality

Hello everyone,
I enjoy using VR apps on my phone from time to time.
Currently, I own a Redmi Note 3 Pro (Kate) and a Redmi Note 5 Pro (Whyred), and I have to use the RN3 for VR, since the RN5 screen has somewhat a higher latency, which results in nausea and blurry image when moving my head.
I am wondering whether the Mi 9T/Redmi K20 screen offers a good experience for VR.
I know that usually OLED panels are associated with lower latencies, and less screen door effect, and that FHD resolution is not really high, but I was wondering if anyone has tested how Mi 9T/K20 performs in this regards, and is enjoable for really sporadic usage.
Thanks in advance!

anybody comes from s20 ultra to one plus 8 pro any regrets?

im currently planning to buy a new phone, in my country one plus 8 pro is almost the same price of a s20 ultra, currently i have samsung active 2 and samsung galaxy buds plus, is there anybody here that come from s20 ultra or any s20 lineup and regret it?
Yes, I came from S20 ultra, then S20+ (for a 7-day free trial) then to Oneplus 8 Pro.
Both Samsung devices were running Exynos chipsets and were having poor battery life and getting hot pretty much all the time, even with almost no apps installed.
S20 ultra camera had big focusing issues, even with the latest updates applied.
I have NO regrets, SnapDragon 865 is just much better and Android OxygenOS is great!

Are u facing any display issues? Like green tint, image retention, burn in , black crush during low background? Any display uniformity? M planning to buy 8 pro in india.. but the display issues most of users are facing making me think not to buy... Plz rly
hi all,
I have S20Ultra since the begining. Then I bought Oneplus 8 Pro.
PROs for S20Ultra:
great display
flat display
one ui
96hz refresh rate
one handed mode
able to customise UI using Substratum, Sinergy or Hex without root
compatible with Disabler Pro to disable bloatware
CONs for S20Ultra:
exynos chipset which is terrible
quick heating up
autofocus issues
bad overall pictures and filming due to 108mp sensor not being optimised
bad HDR
no reliable face id
I used Disable Pro to disable bloatware and i managed to get a decent battery life of almost 7hrs SoT and a decent standby battery drain
PROs Oneplus8 Pro:
great display
120hz refresh rate
good battery life
option to install and use gcam
CONs Oneplus 8 Pro:
no one-hand mode
no 90hz display refresh rate lower rate
curved display
unable to customise UI using Substratum, Sinergy or Hex without root
notcompatible with Disabler Pro to disable bloatware
no reliable face id
bottom line:
if S20Ultra would have had a Snapdragon 865 chipset or a decent comparable Exynos one
if Samsung would care to give great camera experience
if 3d face id would be available
then i would buy Note 20+ or S20+ immediatelly
If Oneplus 8 Pro would fix 3x camera zoom pictures and video
if no curved display
if 3d face id would be available
then i will buy Oneplus 8 pro without to think

Tough one. The camera is better on the S20 ultra (not the auto-focus) but not by a big margin.
OxygenOS is so much better than Samsung UI 2.0 in my opinion, and I prefer the screen of my Oneplus 8 Pro than the one on S20 ultra.
The price difference is also a factor and it is close to stock android.
I think I would have still switched. I am just disappointed with Samsung (and I had all of them since before the S7)

None, but I have the IN2020 with the BA software, and my understanding is that they mostly are safe (I saw that in another forum).
I imported it from China with the Global EU rom on it already installed (the box was sealed, so it must have been a version for the EU?)
The screen is gorgeous, no black crush, no retention.

Excellent analysis! So true!
OnePlus 8 pro compared to S20 Ultra has a gorgeous display with the crisp clarity of the details. The OnePlus8 Pro comes with DisplayA+ rated
I've been seen so many issues on this xda forum for this phone that its getting me thinking to keep the s20 ultra, overheat issues, besides the screen issues, sadly because I really like it, but with no official support in my Country, that would be a high risk, better scenario should be to send the phone to US / Texas and would be a hassle...

hi,
if using with playstore what notifications issues? meaning for which applications you don;t get notifications?
and what means aurora store with google but playstore won't work?
Keeping it short.
Ordered the s20 ultra, didn't turn up re: covid.
Cancelled it.
Ordered OnePlus 8 Pro.
Heard so much awful news about the lacklustre ultra is definitely a bullet dodged, especially the Exynos turd.

yep i had an s20 ultra at launch exynos version experience was really bad drain of battery even of standby is almost the same as you are using it i sold it after 10 days of use. reason im trying to reconsider the exynos version is have no choice thats my country available option only is that they may have an updates that would make the exynos likeable again

and are you happy with oneplus 8 pro?
how you use one hand mode?
how you disable apps /blaotware?
how do you customise the look of it without root?
thanks.

there is some notifications you dont receive like youtube gmail etc but there is work arounds but that is if you want to use mainly playstore,
if you want all your push notifications working then the alternative way is using aurora store and disabling playstore
