Grey missing image icon in some apps - Huawei P10 Plus Questions & Answers

Hey,
I'm rather new to EMUI and recently got a P10 Plus.
My problem: https://imgur.com/a/8yGBK
In some Huawei default apps there is a grey missing image placeholder in the background. Is this a known bug?

System app icons are squared in white after Oreo update

Hi all,
I recently upgraded my Nexus 6P's OS to Oreo. I am using Google Now Launcher. After the upgrade, I noticed that applications that are parts of Android System, such as Chrome, Youtube and Drive have a white square as the background of the real icon, looks ugly as hell.
I am really disappointed that as it looks ugly and somewhat hopeful that this is a bug or something.
I attached a screenshot. Notice that Docs application, installed from Play Store by me looks just fine. But pre-installed `system` applications such as Youtube, Gmail, Photos, Camera etc. have that white square. Please tell me this is a bug and not a feature. :/

Just installed 8.0 last night on my 6P as well and have the same thing. From what I've seen the Pixel launcher actually allows you to change the icon shape, but I don't believe that is an option on the Google Now launcher. I would be really happy if someone told me otherwise because I agree, the white is really ugly.

Nova launcher has Google Now on swipe to right (with a small helper app) and adaptive icons. I don' use any icon packs but like stock round. I love the flexibility and desktop backup capability.

m3 lite quirky strange graphics with 'cube' scroll effect

I recently purchased the Huawei M3 Lite - running EMUI 5.1, Android 7.0 - model CPN-W09
Running Nova launcher, when i scroll sideways the 'cube' scroll effect looks very strange - see attached (quirky.jpg). This doesn't just affect Nova Launcher, it seems any cube effect (for example, in Instagram) it has the same strange quirk. It looks like the background scrolls correctly but the text scrolls in the very opposite direction..
For comparison, I've uploaded a photo which shows how the transition is SUPPOSED to look (normal.jpg).
Anyone else have this problem, and/or have any suggestions on how to fix it?
Found the same problem on my huawei p10+ after update (it was ok on b123 now updated to b170). Did you dind solution? thanks

Check out Deep Black 2.0 and Pure Google 2.3
They both have the same issue ?
I've found a theme called One Cool very nice dark theme with a toast notification I can read.
Highlights are in red, but I edited the theme.xml files and now they are blue and looks great
Pure dark, directly by Play Store
The emerald gold theme (directly purchased from the themes app) is very nice!
Where did you get the One Cool theme from? Since the last update to Android 9 annoyingly there's no more dark themes on honor 9.
If possible can you share it with us. Thx
A pretty good dark theme from the Play Store: Black Pie for EMUI 9/9,1
1. Download the theme from this link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=emui.en.com.pieblack&hl=en_US&showAllReviews=true
2, Apply the theme in the Themes app.
3. Turn off Advanced visual effects in Settings> Smart Assistance > Accessibility. (optional)
4. Reboot your phone.

Agreed. Most EMUI 9-compatible dark themes seem to work well on devices running EMUI 9.0.0. However, there are some models (like Honor 9, Huawei P10 and some others) which have been upgraded to EMUI 9.0.1.
íi tried some EMUI 9.1-compatible themes. The earlier mentioned Black Pie theme is pretty good, however, the Messages app looks terrible. The messages cannot be read. In a Hungarian Honor 9 forum, someone recommended the Pure Google v.2.8. Here, the Contacts and Messages apps and most system apps look very mice but the Settings main menu is not so nice. At least for me.
The Pure Google v.2.8 theme is available via the Themes Manager app. The app can be downloaded from the Play Store.
