Can't get RSD Lite to detect my Moto X (pure) - X Style (Pure) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My brother gave me a rooted phone, so to unroot it I got a .bat off of a site to flash the stock firmware, but now the wifi doesn't work on it, so I think the firmware I used had the wrong radio firmware. I ended up getting the flashfile off of the motorola dev site and made sure it was the right one. I then got RSD Lite and it's not detecting my phone when I plug it in. I made sure I got adb and fastboot, I installed the motorola usb drivers, I put my phone into Fastboot flash mode, I have my phone in debugging mode, I've tried different USB Cables, different USB ports, I've ran it in administator and I still can't get it to detect my phone. Does anybody know a fix for this, or a different way I could flash my xml file onto my phone?
When I downloaded RSD, there was another link for the drivers. When I downloaded it, it had 5 different files (pic attached). This may or may not be the issue, but I couldn't figure out what to do with these files.
Thanks!

Simplier is harder sometimes - i've never used .bat or rsd - only fastboot, keyboard and fingers.
Thera are two good tutorials fot it.
Wifi - sometimes it is needed to repeat few commands: from modem... to... bt,
Drivers - Motorola Device Managers installs all,
Unroot - "unroot & restore boot" iwith supersu/magisk manager app.
You flashed something - there isn't flashable Nougat for all models - give us more info - xt15??, DSim/SSim, last android ver....

Sorry for the late reply. The hardware SKU is XT1575 and the android version is 5.1.1
I just barely followed this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njXQYn53SPc, and I still wasn't able to get it to work.
I also got my firmware off of this site https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=44735, to my knowledge, I flashed it with the correct firmware. I downloaded and flashed from this download - CLARK_RETUS_5.1.1_LPH23.116-18_cid9_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip
Also I'm a noob when it comes to phones, so I'm not sure what DSim/SSim means.
Thank you!

Sorry, I can't tell anything about RSD.
If you want more help you should flash 6.0. or 7.0(your link AFH) with this tutorial:

I've just given up on RSD Lite, because what happens is it is supposed to detect my phone when I plug it in it doesn't. I have a new problem, though. I followed this guide - https://forum.xda-developers.com/mo...de-return-to-stock-relock-bootloader-t3489110.
He said that it would be safe to flash a new version (I've been flashing 5.1.1, and I tried flashing 6.0 this time). Now my phone is stuck on the "Warning Bootloader Unlocked" screen.

Wait, maybe will boot...?
Why do you quote me if you aren't doing what I suggest?
Ask in thread you linked.

All right, I finally fixed both issues. I just flashed 7.0 on there and it unbricked it and I guess fixed the radio firmware.
Thanks for help leading me in the right direction and sorry if I was a pain in the rear to help.

Help required to unbrick Motorola Electrify M (XT901)

Hi Everyone,
I own Motorola Electrify M (XT901) CDMA handset.
I had unlocked the bootloader, installed recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.4-xt907.img and was running CM11 with jellybean bootloader.
I thought of flashing my mobile with stock rom of XT907. So downloaded "VZW_XT907_4.4.2-KDA20.62-10.1_CFC_1FF.xml.zip". After extracting the contents. I executed the following commands to flash the mobile.
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash sbl1 sbl1.mbn
fastboot flash sbl2 sbl2.mbn
fastboot flash sbl3 sbl3.mbn
fastboot flash rpm rpm.mbn
fastboot flash tz tz.mbn
fastboot flash aboot emmc_appsboot.mbn
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot erase tombstones
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase userdata
Now the mobile is not booting. Please help me to unbrick my mobile.
Regards,
Ramakrishna.

Thanks friend for the quick reply. I realized my mistake. But its too late. Now the mobile is not detected by my pc. Neither I'm unable to flash it using RSD lite nor run commands as it not detected by adb also. When I plugin by device to PC I get message drivers not installed and its asking for drivers of "qhsusb_dload". Currently I'm using windows 7 OS.
Please guide me and help me.

You need to boot into fastboot, before plugging the phone into the computer.
Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
The sentences "fastboot flash partition gpt.bin" and "fastboot flash tz tz.mbn" has set off the alarm. You have now hardbricked it because of the bootloader signature NOT belonging to the XT901. Bootloader signatures on both gpt.bin and tz.mbn are different for each models. You might get away with flashing the unofficial XT907 kernel on XT901, although I doubt it due to bootloader differences.
But you may get pretty lucky enough to flash back to the XT901 bootloader. Hope you have enough juice in the battery, otherwise you will have to either make or buy a Motorola factory jig USB cable to force the phone to boot without the battery if s*** hits the fan.

Full kernel version?

The KitKat update was released last month, so most likely the kernel is "rather new".
It that's the case, Towelroot might be locked out, but it's still possible to unlock the bootloader via Motorola (to install a custom recovery etc.).

Hi slgdad,
I have successfully rooted my updated XT901 with 4.4.2 stock rom.
Pre-requisites
1. XT901 bootloader should be unlocked.
The steps I followed
1. Kept the mobile in fastboot mode.
2. Flashed recovery with "ClockWorkMod Recovery v6.0.4.9 for DROID RAZR HD/M" [Link to download]
fastboot flash recovery CWM6049-RAZR-HD_M-KITKAT.img
3. Loaded to recovery, install "update supersu v2.46.zip" by chainfire. I'm not sure if I can provide the link for external sites. Better search on google for the zip file.
And XT901 is rooted. I hope this helps you. Feel free to ask questions.
Note: I have not made any changes to img file or zip file. I have used as is. They are works of their respective owners. I'm just a pointer, indicating the files I used to root XT901. Please do share this post if required.
Regards,
v2k100

[GUIDE]Safely Restore to Stock

***RESTORE TO STOCK 4.4.4 SAFELY***
This guide is only for those who have entered into the world of "Customization" after getting the 4.4.4 update via OTA, before unlocking their bootloaders, or for those whose devices were shipped with 4.4.4.
After watching so many members of XDA going ahead, skipping important steps while trying to Restore their Moto E to stock 4.4.4, and ultimately ending up failing to do so, or in the worst case a BRICK, it's time I put in a few words here...
If you follow the steps correctly, you WON'T BRICK your device, and will be able to enjoy the fully restored firmware.
1) gpt.bin (WARNING: DO NOT flash this file)
Fastboot command :
mfastboot.exe flash partition gpt.bin
This is the file which contains all the partition information of your phone. It gets updated with each OTA update, and you CANNOT DOWNGRADE the partition table. If you somehow end up flashing the file, either the remaining commands may succeed, or fail... And when, you accept OTAs,!!!BRICKED!!!
2) motoboot.img (WARNING: DO NOT flash this file)
Fastboot command :
mfastboot.exe flash motoboot motoboot.img
This is your bootloader. I have very little info on how it gets flashed through each update... The bootloader is the bios of your phone. If you mess up this file, GOD knows what will happen!!! You won't be able to boot up your device, not even to the bootloader mode (or fastboot mode as some other people call it).
IF ANY ONE OF THE ABOVE FILES ARE MESSED UP, YOU CAN SAY GOODBYE TO YOUR PHONE FOREVER!!
Now, the commands which you should execute are listed below:
mfastboot.exe flash logo logo.bin
mfastboot.exe flash boot boot.img
mfastboot.exe flash recovery recovery.img
Now, Check inside your firmware zip for the numbers (system.img_sparsechunk.0, system.img_sparsechunk.1 etc.). If they are 0,1,2 then follow the steps above then type in:
mfastboot.exe flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0
mfastboot.exe flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
mfastboot.exe flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
Or , if you have like 1,2,3 then type:
mfastboot.exe flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
mfastboot.exe flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
mfastboot.exe flash system system.img_sparsechunk.3
Now type in:
mfastboot.exe flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
mfastboot.exe erase modemst1
mfastboot.exe erase modemst2
mfastboot.exe flash fsg fsg.mbn
mfastboot.exe erase cache
mfastboot.exe erase userdata
You MUST execute the commands in the order given above, to safely restore to KitKat 4.4.4.
All the best!!! :good:
This is a working tutorial to get and install the 5.1 OTA.

Yes you can do so... Just follow the tutorial.... You can get back to stock safely....
1) Make sure you clear all partitions from your phone except ur sd card... Do this via TWRP
2) Now you have a clean system.... You are ready to enter the commands
MAKE SURE YOU EXECUTE ALL OF THEM IN SEQUENCE (Except the ones I have told to leave out namely gpt and motoboot).
You are done!

Hi, I did everything as per post.
After rebbot I am shown old boot menu for some time.
But then I am back into lolipop .... Please advise if I missed something.
I just followed your instructions. They seem to have worked well. Thanks!
One comment- I understand that the first two commands are not to be followed, but perhaps it would be wiser to not give the full command that will brick the phone? That way people who just see the number and the command won't just be bricking their phone when they don't read the full instructions. Just say "don't use any command that includes gpt" or something like that instead of giving them the command.

I like your suggestions... But I made this post for those who wanted to downgrade.
I hope u understand that downgrading is a very risky process, and EVERYONE SHOULD READ EVERY SINGLE LINE prior to trying to mess with their phone. Some told me to write the full commands so that they can clearly understand, while some like you are telling me to be more precise
Well, it's too tough for me to step on two boats at the same time. But still, I will try to be more precise for my next tutorial

I told not to flash the gpt, AS WELL AS THE MOTOBOOT... It has been proved by other devs here at XDA, that these two will brick ur phone, and not the other ones!!!
So, don't blame me. You must have done something that was not mentioned here, that was responsible for the brick.

Going back to stock: no Wi-Fi

Hi everybody.
I'm very upset with my Moto X Style (XT1572, retail EU, bought in Italy though I live in South America).
Some days ago I received Android 7.0 OTA. Everything was fine until I had some problems with file management, which I had some months ago. So, I did a factory reset. Nothing improved, though I tried many times, so today I tried to flash a factory image of 6.0.1 using this image:
XT1572_CLARK_RETEU_6.0.1_MPHS24.107-58-5
I did it multiple times, with different guides, because everytime I turn on the phone (no problem with that) to set it up, I can't detect any Wi-Fi access. If I skip the initial set up and go to Configuration/Wi-Fi, if i turn it on it automatically turns off after one or two seconds, never listing any access.
Most guides I followed where amost identical, maybe changing one or two fastboot cmd lines. What I can tell you is that with "fastboot flash partition gpt.bin" I get a failure, which I've been told happens because I want to flash an older system number. I get the same failure when doing "fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin".
I really need to make it work, guys. The help I'm asking for is for:
1) Which image should I go for? I repeat, my last official system was 7.0, after unlocking went for a 6.0.1.
2) Idiot-proof fastboot cmd line in order (maybe I'm doing it wrong).
3) If you can tell me how to relock after it, I'd be very grateful.
4) Anything else is appreciated.
Finally, one thing I forgot: the first time I flashed it I forgot the eleventh system chunk and got on a bootloop, but I could start again.
Thank you!
Zip ...58-5 is good.
Maybe you should flash modem(radio) twice.
Repeat only this:
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot flash bluetooth BTFM.bin

I have two questions I hope you (or anybody else) could help me with:
1) When I finally get back to 7.0, will that partition file which gave me trouble coincide with the system number? So I can forget about that issue?
2) Are you sure there isn't a way to relock it and bring it to status 2? I know it's not a problem, leaving it unlocked, but I'd like to relock it anyway, and then flash a fresh logo that doesn't point out it was unlocked.
Again, I'm very grateful for your help. You have no idea the stress I've got with this issue. I'm never going to unlock a phone, ever again.
The funny thing is, I did all this mess because Android stopped reading a particular selection of my music's metadata. Some Beach Boys album (it even left some BB albums untouched) and I couldn't sort it out doing a hard reset nor formatting the SD card. Funny and painful experience.
1. You will see.
2. There isn't the newest 6.0.x and 7.0 roms for fastboot. BL cannot be locked after update to it.
Users on Lolipop or early 6.0 can relock.
You can flash modified logo.bin, is what to choose:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-style/themes-apps
" Zip ...58-5 is good.
Maybe you should flash modem(radio) twice.
Repeat only this:
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot flash bluetooth BTFM.bin "
Yes Yes
I had the same problem with same Build and your turtorial helps me !
Now everithing is OKAY
Thanks @dzidexx !

[GUIDE][addison] FACTORY STOCK IMAGES (ZIPs)

These have just about everything:
This is what you would use - using my guides - to flash your phone :

"lolinet"

NEVER try to downgrade => permanently bricked phone.
ie if you're on nougat, DON'T try to go back to MM.
While I have not tested going from anything back to MM, I have certainly bounced back and forth many times between 7.x and 8.x bootloaders/ROMs - see my other guides.
windows: Remember if you are going to use RSD lite, use the latest one 6.2.4 from here http://rsdlite.en.lo4d.com/ , and start it in admin mode. Earlier versions won't recognize your phone. (boot phone to fastboot screen and usb plug to PC)( do lots of googling if you're using win10.)
Using RSD lite: [GUIDE][addison]RSD lite and adb - writing firmware to phone
OR
Using adb: This one is for India phone on 7.x . Remember never try to downgrade to MM or you will brick your phone. This was 7.x to 7.x .

Process to go from custom rom back to stock (August update)
There are several guides on going back from custom rom to full stock, but still I made this guide with latest links. I just went from LOS 14.1 back to full stock. Below is the step I took:
1) Download and install minimal ADB AND FASTBOOT
I used version 1.4.2 which is the latest version https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=745425885120698566
2) Download and install motorola drivers
https://motorola-global-portal.custh...ail/a_id/88481
3) Download the latest firmware
I used ADDISON_NPNS26.118-22-1 which has august security updates https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=673368273298986785
4) Extract the zip file (firmware) and move all its contents to the folder where you have installed minimal adb and fastboot
5) Create a text file, add the following text to it and save it as "launch.bat" in the same folder.
Quote:
echo off
fastboot getvar max-sparse-size
fastboot oem fb_mode_set
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot flash dsp adspso.bin
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.3
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.4
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.5
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.6
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.7
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.8
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.9
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.10
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.11
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.12
fastboot flash oem oem.img
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot erase carrier
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase DDR
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot oem fb_mode_clear
echo -------------------------------------------------------------------------
echo please scroll up and check your flash for any errors
echo -------------------------------------------------------------------------
pause
fastboot reboot
exit
6) Switch off your phone and open it in fastboot mode (press power and volume down button for few seconds after phone as switched off)
7) Connect your mobile to your computer
8) Click on the launch.bat file that you saved and it will install stock firmware on to your mobile. It will take a couple of minutes. (It will wipe everything on your mobile so take a backup of your important data)
9) Once the process is complete, it will ask you to enter any key, after which it will reboot itself.
Once rebooted, you will have full stock, non rooted, and latest firmware with august patches.

And make sure you use Motorola data cable - RSD is super sensitive to it! I nearly got grey before I actually found the reason RSD didn't recognize my phone - I used a random Chinese cable I found in the office.

Yep, gotta try different cables!!!
Just used it because I forgot Alberto's "verity" patch. So 5 minutes later I'm looking at 7.1.1 Nov 1 which was where I was at before I unlocked BL. Easy!!!

I would have no idea.
Do you know what channel you were on? I would guess retla but I only see 6.0.1 for that and you were on 7.1.1 so you certainly don't want to use that! @ TeamMex would probably have a much better idea. Or anyone in Mexico... Let us know if you find out!
EDIT also found this Nougat Moto Z on at&t mexico (this may be compatible with more models) but can't vouch for i since that's for Griffin - different phone.
If you follow my guide, you dont need a software channel..

That guide is here [Guide] relock bootloader, and be back to lasted stock rom
You need to be in a custom (not stock) ROM
and need to have settings/developer options/"OEM unlocking" ON (and I assume android debugging (usb debugging) ON. both of those should always be on anyway... :|
I have not personally tried it but lots of folks there say it works.
Remember to give tons of thanks there if it works for you!!! _

Hi, Kris. IDK if you're still around but I'm wondering if I can use the RSDLite method and that Android 8 ADDISON_NPNS26.118-22-1 to flash Oreo onto my XT1635-02 software channel attmx which currently has Android 6.0.1 and baseband M8953_10203.02.04.42R ADDISON_ROW_CUST and build number of MPN24.104-25 ?
Can anyone give me some insight on this, please?

Hi @lohanbarth,
Please change the title of the thread to "[STOCK][ALJETER]Firmware Moto G6 Play".
The reason is to be consistent with the other two threads for "G6" and "G6 Plus".
With this change will be more easy to distinguish for users of the "G6 family".
And thank you for provide theses firmwares! :good:
Sorry if this is a dumbass question but can I flash this on the boost/Sprint variant since it can be bootloader unlocked? And will it remove the bloatware downloading from boost/Sprint. Again sorry if it's a dumb question.

If you have a bricked boost mobile variant and need a jeter rom u can try this backup: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1pHiR6fssHOTJ-13-yttipMdB-DBNv_IM
Just unzip it and put it inside the TWRP folder on your phone and click Restore with twrp. It should flash. I tested it twice on my G6 Play (boost mobile variant) (jeter)
I actually got it flashed through twarp it said it was a success but when I reboot my phone it stays on the Motorola splash screen

bookmobile is cdma the one i have xt1922-9 is a gsm that probley why it wont go a passed the Motorola splash screen after flashing
I followed all the steps, but at the time of restart, I sent back to the boot manager, I had to install the previous firmware
Bty I found the right firmware for the Moto g6 play 1922-9 and it works flawless

if at the end of flashing it is returned to the bootloader...
1 clarification about the firmware opp27.91-87.. in the command lines, one of the system lines is missing:
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.4
If they add it to the .bat, or if they include it manually, it should start without problems
problem with sound
i flashed my xt1922-4 a few hours ago, but first problem that i found, was the calls, speaker no sound when make or receive calls, only handset and can't install magisk (boot loop after boot moto sequence)

I have the same model and I noticed that one of the lines in the bat file is wrong, the dspso.bin is actually adspso.bin (line 5), just edit it and it should work fine:
fastboot flash dsp adspso.bin
In addition, add the line that Wid_w mentions:
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.4
I attach my edited .bat file, I just 've flashed mi phone and everything seems to work without problems.
Thansk for guide, but i cant install Magisk on this OPP27.91-87, stay in M Logo. Any Help? (my poor english)
