pokemon go root bypass

Just a quick question. I see some people may be getting around it with Magisk, but is there anything we can do? Root is more important to me than PoGo so if not oh well.
Use xposed. I was able to play it yesterday using root cloak.

Out of curiosity... What settings did you use with RootCloak? Did you just select Pokemon Go? Or did you do something else as well?
Rootcloak doesnt work with safetynet which is how theyre blocking rooted phones. From what i understand right now, magisk doesnt work with our phones because we are rooted by eng boot and dont have an unlocked bootloader. The creator of magisk says that we need a custom kernel to have it working on samsung devices.

You fraudulently filed chargebacks on valid charges and were not honest when attempting to gain access to our platform (which we allowed) then you filed chargebacks again. Your methods of doing business are very dishonest.

Root without Knox possible? Do I lose my data?

Hi,
Well I made it half a year without root but I want my adaway back. Adguard just doesn't work very well.
Is it in the meantime possible to root without triggering Knox? I don't really care that much anymore but if it was, I would go for it.
Also, can I root without having to format the phone?
Thanks!

You better not root if you wanna play safe on this side. and about the ad block, format onece and purchase a good anti virus (internet security) which doesn't even cost much. it'll prevent phising web page and adware away from your phone. although android is based on linux. so it won't be virus affected just yet. happy use.

By the way rooting means tripping the knox warranty forever.

yes, you can root without formatting your device. But knox will be tripped which could cause samsung/dealer to refuse to repair your phone.
Netguard from github is working nicely for adblocking without root

Thanks! The adhell thingy looks fine and seems to work. And it doesn't need a simulated VPN like Adguard.
Just installed adhell and it looks like it works very well. Any advantages of disconnect me?
I think there is a way to reset knox, but dont know, wether a link is allowed or not here!?
As long as it is no scam, why should it be forbidden?

Whats the best root method?

I am curious which one I should do, I really would like to root it. I have the xt1625 without amazon adds
KingoRoot.
Be careful, there's a guide in the proper section (https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4/how-to/how-to-root-g4-fix-bootable-attempted-t3417592) that explain how to do it properly. KingoRoot apparently brick the phone :s

Happy New Year.
Please explain what does it have to do with bricking the phone?
If I can tag along with this post... What is the best root method for the Amazon variant XT1625? According to Moto's website, this one (refurbished phone) apparently has an unlockable bootloader. It is running build number MPJ24.139-64.
Thanks,

Anyone that uses King root is an idiot in my opinion, which I'm sure you don't care about that. What I do know early on was that there was some danger of your data going to of all places, China. Plus I don't like some of the exploits it uses to gain root. If you're happy with it though, go for it.
Isn't SuperSU now owned/maintained at least partially by a Chinese company?

Yes, It is owned by a Chinese company, I read that too and I don't trust them either but almost every hardware that is in front of me right now is manufactured in China. I avoid Chinese apps and will block/firewall SuperSu/KingoSu if someone can explain to me how to do that.
Once u install a custom recovery all ROMs are prerooted why would anyone stay stock any why would anyone use kingroot
You don't need Kingroot. A you need to do is unlock the bootloader, install twrp and flash super su.

Easiest way to achieve root?

I know this is a relatively new phone but are there any sort of tools to automatically root the device for you? If not, what's the best, most up to date guide on doing it yourself. Just bought the phone and want to get it rooted.

What's the difference between this and the Super SU method? I mainly just want root for the tethering so will this method give me that?

It will give you root but not tethering. If you need tethering.. not sure yet. On other phones all it took was freezing the right app but I'm not as familiar with moto as other brands.
I haven't rooted my phone yet or even unlocked it. I'm just hanging out until i feel things are "fairly safe". After that I'll be doing what you are.. other than the one thing the phone is perfection.

Substratum for non-rooted Oneplus 8 PRO

Hi All,
I am interested (and maybe more of you) on how to install and make it work Substratum for our Oneplus 8 Pro devices without root.
If you have any solution or any method which works, please post it here.
Cheers.

I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. That's one of the reasons I buy unlocked phones and not from Verizon. I unlock it, root it, install Adaway and Swift Installer right off the bat.

Not that I know of. Why are you hesitant to root? It's not hard. You just need to do your homework and follow instructions. We all had to start somewhere. Also, if something goes wrong, it's rare to really brick a phone. They can almost always be recovered.

There's no risk to rooting. Grab the MDM tool it's your always go to tool to bring phone back to stock if there's an issue.
I used to root for Adaway, Viper, and Substratum but with the theme engine now and Blokada (or my personal VPN) and most of my audio listening is not on this device I actually haven't rooted a OnePlus phone in almost a year. Keep in mind if you root you'll lose L1 provisioning (capped at [email protected] on YouTube TV which is a deal breaker for me) along with Netflix and other things that require Widevine DRM to play HD content. Also, having to update the ROM you gotta disable Magisk modules, disable substratum themes, flash the OTA, then reflash TWRP, reflash Magisk, re-enable all your modules and themes. At least this is how it was on the last round of OnePlus devices. Maybe I'm getting older but just simple flash OTA and reboot at my leisure and everything still just works...

Most apps can be light or dark theme.
You can also install DarQ from XDA Labs to dark theme more apps.
Quick Settings in the app store allows you to add a ton of more toggles to quick settings.
Hope that helps.

It's a bit old but you could try Andromeda from the play store and follow the instructions with substratum both installed and access to a PC worth a try couldn't shouldn't hurt
its pointless anyway
even on rotted OxygenOS most themes dont support it so there are always issues with themes
I prefer running custom AOSP ROMs as then themes work much better in terms of versions etc

I'm using Swift Installer and no problems. I have just about everything blacked out.
Many packages are supporting it now. Liv Dark, Swift, Darc, Liv Light, Valerie. Def worth the few minutes to gain root access.

With the local install option, this is one of the easiest phones to upgrade and keep root that I've ever used. Maybe even THE easiest.

Given there's no TWRP support as long as nothing goes wrong I agree. If during a flash or if the phone randomly wants to glitch out causing a bootloop during normal usage you're sitting with a paperweight unless you're in front of a computer with ADB and your files available to jump start this device in fastboot. No TWRP and rooting and flashing the boot partition to gain root in most cases likely fine but you're playing with fire without a way to attempt to fix your device while on the go. Correct me if I'm wrong and I might reconsider my personal stance.
In addition, I love this device for the option to root, but the L1-->L3 downgrade in DRM provisioning is a partial deal breaker for my personal usage with YouTube TV. I like to watch sports and being restricted to [email protected] is awful. I could deal with the 480p component but the lack of 60 FPS hockey and football are motion blur central. Keeping it not rooted keeps it at [email protected] or [email protected]

Don't root if you have no idea what you're doing
But like everyone said previously, root is THE thing to do once you got an Android
There's no harm for your device, if you fail, you flash a whole firmware and youre good to go again
