Dead PB2-650m - Lenovo Phab 2 Questions & Answers

At last, unfortunately, i ended up with a dead/bricked Phab-2,
I was trying to flash recovery using fastboot, than i think i made a wrong flash with " fastboot flash boot ****.img" and than all gone.
now i am using spft to flash the stock firmware including preloader,
but an error occures as: S-SECURITY_SLA_FAIL (6004), MSP ERROR CODE: 0x00

and while flashing through the cracked miracle box, the phone automatically disconnects at 7% of
downloading boot8..

If your device still boots on fastboot then why not flash the correct boot or recovery image?
Is your device rooted?

Yep, flashing twrp was failed, than i tried
fastboot boot twrp.Img
And then stucked. Phone wasn't responding. Not even showing charging screen, neither it was vibrating while pressing buttons. It was all bricked. And flashing through spft too was showing error that i showed in the main post.
But now when i tried CTRL + ALT + S in spft, the trick worked, earlier i was trying it without CTRL + ALT + S, now my device has got a second life ?. Thank you so much.

NIGHTLY recovery failure

Yesterday I had an update for the newest NIGHTLY Cyanogen ROM, which updated my ZUK Z1 to Cm 13 compatible to android 6.0.1
I had installed a NIGHTLY recovery and ROM on my own 3 months ago and everything was working fine. till yesterday after the update
Google Play was not compatible with my newest rom so i had to find a way to install 6.0 version of Gapps cause during the install i
kept getting a message that system partition had not enough space, which was not true.
I used ADB to re-install the latest NIGHTLY recovery and then BOOM... I got that message that bootimage was incomplete or not signed and my ZUK
bricked... It keeps loop booting and I'm not able to enter any recovery or boot in to bootloader.
Any help here would be greatful....
Thanks in advance Nick

Call me a noob, but I think I never istalled TWRP... Just the NIGHTLY recovery using ADB and then flashed NIGHTLY ROM via the recovery..
Now I can do nothing. I press power button, phone vibrates I see the ZUK logo, then bootloops forever..
Be optimistic your zuk is not dead.
A adb sideload with Cos 12.1 will be a good start. Download the last rom cos (Yogpas3 (of head) and go in recovery cyanogen, I think you did not flash TWRP

Try to download this : http://loadbalancing.modaco.com/download.php?file=z1.recovery.testkeys.img
Put in a folder, and try an "fastboot i 0x2b4c boot z1.recovery.testkeys.img"
This requires of course that pilot is properly installed on the PC
Sorry for my bad english dude, i do my best (French)

SOLVED
problem finally solved, i guess..!!
I had to use QFIL application, which flashed the ZUI version again on my phone, and then booted a cyanogen recovery and a cyanogen nighlty rom..
What does
fastboot oem device-info
say?
Perhaps it is unlocked, I didn't have a proper UNLOCKED message, but the status shows the Unlocked State.
Otherwise try the original Recoveries / OS from:

You'll have to find QPST which is a package of applications, including QFIL. Then you need to find the ZUI ROM and recovery, which will boot again your ZUK. I'll send ypu links ASAP. You can find them for yourself if ypu are in a hurry in xda site. don't worry you'll revive it!!

try and follow these steps:
After you installed QPST, you will get a bunch of programs associated to it, start QFIL from the QPST folder
Click browse on the programmer path row and select prog_emmc_firehose_8974.mbn from the directory where you unzipped the QPST ZUI ROM
and then click browse on the search path row and select the xml file + the other patch file which comes after it.
When thats done, make sure phone is off and then hold vol+ while you are inserting usb cable into phone and QFIL should then detect phone,
you may need to select port in the QFIL program and be quick with it, took me a few tries before I got it right so just take out the cable
and turn off and try again if you fail to make them connect.
Not only you need to select comport, you also need to press the download button aswell as soon as possible or else phone will continue booting as normal.
If everything went well then you should have ZUI loaded onto your phone and you are met with Chinese language as default.
On the first screen you are met with, just press the button in the bottom (on screen), then press cogwheel (which is the settings),
scroll down to yet another cogwheel in here which should be below a lock icon, then press second option in here and then the top option
to change language to english incase you cant make out the chinese and you should be good to go

Cannot flash with Phone flash tools

I messed up my Yoga 2 1050 by trying to load an unlocked boot image from here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/thi...-tab-2-unlocking-daaa-deee-daaa-dooo-t3241260), I have tried using the Phone flash tool with the correct file but it fails at 50%, here is the log attached if anyone can help.
When I first power on a message EFILINK ERROR(image -start-partition 596This partition does not appear to contain a boot image shows up.

so you got your un-repairable tab back from lenovo
as a reminder, when you attempted to unlock the bootloader instead of the correct fastboot flash ESP 1050f-esp-patched you did a fastboot flash boot 1050f-esp-patched so instead of flashing you ESP partition you flashed the boot one with a (incompatible) ESP image, resulting, of course, in a bricked tab (as now the boot partition contains no valid image to be booted)
as advised, what you did to fix is fine (ie flashing back a stock rom), but you must use this Intel Phone Flash Tool (uninstall your existing one then install the new one) because the one you are using will not complete to flash a lollipop stock rom
Thanks ionioni
I did as you said, removed the old phone flash and installed the "lite" version.
I have run the new one and unfortunately it failed, it seems when the command for 25 second sleep is issued the tablet is taken out of fastboot as the screen shows the android system recovery page then.
I have enclosed the log file.

when installed the new intel phone tool you must leave the dnx driver checked, install also the other file intelandroiddrv....exe, reboot and try again
if still not working try to flash a kitkat rom (have you restored the bios somehow?)

it's not that hard, come on...
1. uninstall the existing Phone Flash Tool(nvm that you already installed the new one) and the drivers associated from Add/Remove programs and reboot
2. install the new Intel Phone Flash tool and the driver from the zip file linked (unplug the tab from usb before installing), to be sure also install at the end the DnX driver attached (this step is normally not needed as it should be automatically installed when the new Intel Phone Flash tool installation is run)
3. flash using the lollipop stock rom (the one you used so far with (L) at end is ok)
10 minutes for all these operations
I can confirm that information. Today I was installing new rom, and have problem with uploading data. I've installed newer version of Phone Flash Tool LITE instead of classic PFT, and DNx driver and it works good for me
O.K you talked me into it.
Just to be different I tried to do it on my Daughters laptop, and it still failed, it just seems to take it out of fastboot within a second or two of starting.

O.K
I have fresh installed the "lite" tool and all the drivers including the DnX one.
The yoga is put into fastboot by pressing volume up and down together while powering on, this shows fastboot starting, then connect to laptop(tried on two different ones)start "lite" tool and load XML (also tried starting tool before connecting Yoga) file from same folder as files are in, press start to flash and within a second or two the screen on the Yoga change to the Android System Recovery screen and thats how it stays.
The attached log is from my Daughters Laptop.

ok, somehow your bios is (still) a kitkat version (sure you didn't restored the bios using the restore bios tool? or lenovo did? nvm anyways)
you need to flash the kitkat stock rom, use this one (you can use the already installed lite flashing tool, no need to reinstall anything, just download and extract the stock rom and flash from dnx mode). after that remember to configure your region code and then you can update to lollipop using OTA's (don't flash the lollipop rom as this is only to be used after you have already updated to lollipop using OTA's and you need a fresh lollipop over your existing one)

will be fine, you had a kitkat bios and everything choked right from the start (remember that the bios must match the rom you re/install, so for eg if you have kitkat on your tab don't flash a lollipop rom or the other way around, as this will not upgrade/downgrade the bios too and you will get unexpected behavior or bricks, to upgrade to lollipop from kitkat use ota's and after you are on lollipop you can flash a lollipop stock rom if needed sometime)
I now have Droidboot Provision OS

what were the steps you performed? normally that one is the screen that the tab is showing during the flashing yet you must see some activity on the Intel Flash Tool log window and in the bottom of your tab screen. if you see it the it's ok and just wait for it to finish, if not then you must start your tab in DnX mode (screen saying "Fastboot starting...") then load flash.xml from the extracted kitkat stock rom in Intel Phone Flash Tool and "Start flashing"

1. First do you know what rom version you where on?, if you do know download that rom then extract from it the stock recovery using Huawei Update Extractor .
2. If there is two files of recovery just choose one, the one without any numbers. So you will have RECOVERY.img file.
3. Now make sure all files needed to recognize your phone are installed and adb is installed too. What you will need now is to push the RECOVERY.img file to the phone.
4. Connect the device to the computer and Put the RECOVERY.img file inside the folder where fastboot.exe is located. Then hold shift and right click to open CMD(command prompt) from there. Once CMD is open run the following code:
adb devices (This will show if your device is connected)
adb reboot bootloader (will reboot the device in bootloader mode)
fastboot devices
fastboot flash recovery RECOVERY.img
5. After this take the rom which you extracted the recovery from and put it in the memory card (dload folder)
6. When phone is OFF hold (volume up + volume down+ power key) together until you see Huawei startup logo then release. The flash process of the rom should start.

To enter the fastboot mode disconnect the phone from the PC. Shut it down by holding power until it's off. Then hold volume down and connect the phone to the PC at the same time.
It won't shut down.. Just restart. .. I will get in screen were you can wipe cache and do fatory reset and reboot. But no shutdown.... Sorry for all these questions. Thank you so much for all the help! ?

You are using wrong command.. Command is " fastboot flash recovery (filename).img " and in your case it must be : 'fastboot flash recovery twrp.img'
I too had the same problem and I fixed it by Flashing CMW Recovery through Minimal ADB and Fastboot

My lenovo a6000 is hard bricked. PC not detecting it.

Hello all, I have a Lenovo a6000 smartphone. It was owned by my friend. She had a problem with the android os, so she went to a local store and the there it got hard bricked. Now if I turn it on it only vibrates once. no backlight or any picture. If I press and hold vol- and power buttons together LCD backlight turns on but no display. then it goes off and then again turns on. PC does not detect it. Can anyone help me getting it out from this state?

You need to have adb and fastboot drivers for your phone to correctly get detected.
Here's the LINK FOR QFIL TUTORIAL. You'll need another set of drivers called as the QCOM drivers which are mentioned in the tutorial from the above link.
Hope this helps.
I already have installed the drivers. Still not detected. Even the device manager does not show a device is connected

You should try changing the usb cable you are using. Or maybe that guy in the local repair shop didn't put the sub PCB board back correctly.

Lenovo A6000 doesn't come with a locked bootloader B-l
If you can boot into fastboot then you should flash twrp from it depending on the current android version of the device. If it had been on kitkat flash this TWRP v2.8.6.0 or if it has been updated to lollipop then flash the latest TWRP v3.1.0.
For this you need to first have the fastboot drivers installed and also the minimal adb and fastboot tool. Then place the required TWRP in that folder, better rename the file to 'recovery.img' and then in the CMD window which you open by Shift + Right Click first type
Code:
fastboot devices
To check whether your device is detected by the tool and haa got drivers installed correctly.
Later, if successful, type in
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Then you'll have TWRP recovery installed.
Then flash any ROM on the device using it.

Thanks! I will try it and post the results.
Btw are you sure it does not come with a locked bootloader? I tried to flash the stock recovery and got an error saying "unknown command or device is lock"

Yeah bro I'm 100% positive. I think unknown command is displayed when you flash the wrong version of recovery.
You can also try
Code:
fastboot boot recovery.img
Sometimes only this works which temporarily boots into the custom recovery.

Try this with the CWM recovery too.
BTW does your device gets detected by fastboot devices command? Also, have you tried the QPST method?

You've tried booting into Download mode? It requires you to press the VOL UP + POWER KEY, then you need to select the Download mode in it to perform flashing through QPST.
Also, you never mentioned what android version was the device on, earlier.

If i press and hold vol up and power key together the phone only vibrates once and shows nothing. And i think my friend applied the lollipop update on it. She is not sure.

I think you are missing something (maybe).
The command is "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"
If the recovery files name is twrp.img then command will be "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img".
