zenfone selfie zd551kl bootloop - Asus Zenfone Selfie Questions & Answers

Hello! I tried to update my zenfone selfie from 1.14.4.695 to 1.15.40.1238. Update failed during the process. Then the device went to bootloop. I have tried the following things but no progress:
1. Wiping data and cache: nothing occurs
2. adb sideload: get stuck at 83% and won't go beyond that
3. flashing with fastboot: shows " remote: size too large". Tried "fastboot -S 100M " command but the same error still occurs
4. flashing via sd card: gives error in package "E:/adb/sideload/package.zip"
Please someone help me.

I could't submit it in asus forum as i am a new member and don't have more than 10 posts. Please someone help me in this. I have tried several ways but not one have solved my problem.

My phone is dead for 2 months. Please someone help

Startup paralyzes the ASUS logo - ZENFONE 5

Hello!
I have a big problem in my zenfone 5 , I hope someone can help me.
Next , after the last update sent by ASUS My zenfone is simply paralyzed the logo of the manufacturer.
First tried to clear data and cache the recovery without success ... The only option I have left then was to make an update by the ADB . Okay so let's do this, using the ADB 1.0.32 ( I downloaded here on XDA ) I tried to perform the update with several different firmware , but when you get 55% have to return the message " COMMAND NOT FOUND " and the cell appears the logo of broken android
Please help me, how can I fix this. :crying:

To fix your issue, you need to:
1) Update your Recovery to the Latest STOCK version
2) Reinstall your ROM downloading full firmware from ASUS site
The issue is that your ROM/Recovery is not up-to-date to run the update package.
same problem! any solution? can't access fastboot for command "fastboot flash recovery file.img", just adb sideload, but gone wrong in 54%.

have you found a solution to your problem ???
I am also facing same issue while updating with adb sideload..
if you have got a solution please post it..
Have you tried to acces fastboot with the adb command: adb reboot fastboot ?
Then you could try again to flash your updated recovery.
There is a CWM modified recovery you should try.

Lost Bootloader Zenfone 5 - T00J

I have a Zenfone 5 - T00J and i lost the bootloader on the phone.
This is what happened:
I installed the TWRP2870.
I tried to install a custom rom and it didn't work.
I then tried to unlock bootloader and the phone turned off and never turned on by it self.
So i powered it on and i have lost the boot loader.
If i try to reboot into bootloader i will get a battery with a question mark.
I am unable to get ADB access.
I can only boot into TWRP but i am unable to update the firmware.
If i try to install the original firmware i get this
Code:
error: assert failed: getprop("ro.build.asus.sku") == "TW" return code 8
If i try to install a custom firmware i get this
Code:
This pacage is for device: T00F, T00F1, T00J, T00J1, a501cg ; this device is .
Can anyone help me please.
Thanks.

Charge your phone. You should also try one of ASUS flashtools.
e: unknown volume "/spare"
I have gone trough everything i could find.
but everything hits the same problem.
i run the "Debrick Asus Zenfoen 5" post options
and on the sec_offline_update_image.cmd it does not create the partition spare.
erasing 'spare'...
FAILED (remote: unable to format)
finished. total time: 0.790s
what can i do?
thanks.

Can't mount cache... can't change droidboot and recovery

hello xda community
I made sure to try everything (or almost) before post here
my ZenFone 5 show a message that it cannot mount the cache partition and I am stuck on the Asus logo (I can access droidboot and recovery but I cannot replace them)
factory reset and cache wipe does not make any change (they return the same "can't mount cache" error.
I am trying to change the current droidboot and recovery to fastboot and TWRP but not matter how much I flash them, it does not take change (yes, I am unlocking the bootloader)
I am also executing a script to get the original partitions table back but when sec_offline_update_image.cmd executes the command "fastboot oem partition /tmp/partition.tbl" I get the error "FAILED(remote: GPT command failed)"
as this came out of thin air, I didnt have the chance to activate developer mode on my phone
I starting to get concerned .... any help?
thnk you very much in advance
@dgadelha any help ?

ZenFone 5 - A501CG T00J
Serial # with 0123456789ABCDEF issue
Box info: A501CG2 / A501CG-1F589 / CPU Intel Clover Trail Plus + Dual Core 1.6 Ghz, Purple, 8GB RAM
I already checked basically all links on Google related to the above issues (4 days Googling it already).
I really don't know what to do anymore.
A little more context @dgadelha.
2 months ago, I unlocked my bootloader for the 1st time and installed BlueLight 3.24.40.87... after the installation I locked my bootloader again using the boot, recovery and droidboot images contained in UL-ASUS_T00F-TW-3.24.40.87-user (Asus' official).
BlueLight worked fine with minor bugs for 2 months until past week when it suddenly started to crash a LOT, get slow and overheat (I didn't had time to fix it).
Then suddenly, all Android services and apps on the phone crashed and the phone turned off entering in a bootloop (Asus logo) everytime I reboot.
Since then I am getting the "E:Failed to mount /cache (Invalid argument)" issue when loading the recovery mode.
Since then I am also not being able to flash anything on my phone... no different recovery, no other fastboot and no other image... I get success messages on the flash process but nothing changes after restart (I can still access droidboot and recovery but nothing works there as the "Failed to mount /cache" error pops up for any action I try... recovery mode shows version 3.24.40.87_201).
When I try a system image via adb sideload I get error "Total xfer: 0.00x".
When I try "sec_offline_update_image.cmd" I get an error on the command "fastboot oem partition /tmp/partition.tbl"... the error is "FAILED(remote: GPT command failed)".
I have tried 2 different "partition.tbl" files... one that contains the "spare" partition and another one that contains "misc" instead... both failed.
I am now currently trying xFSTK (I don't even know what this does on my phone) and ASUS Flash Tool... ASUS Flash Tool returns "Flash image failure (FAILED (remote: GPT command failed))".
PS: I forgot to activate developer mode and other related options before the crash.
I hope that my phone is somehow alive... btw, thank you very much in advance!!!

Hi,
Did you have any kernel mods when using BlueLight?
Sorry but I don't know if it had a custom kernel, but a custom one could have lead a storage drive crash.
Also, xFSTK will just attempt to restore your droidboot and dnx/ifwi, not the partition table or w.e.
Maybe you could try extracting the Jelly Bean RAW file with 7-Zip, flash the droidboot signed image (should be like, fastboot flash fastboot file.img, or fastboot flash droidboot file.img), the droidboot signed image name might be something like droidboot.signed_POS.bin (it's an img file too, but with a bin extension).
After flashing that droidboot image, reboot your bootloader and try running the sec_offline_image_update.cmd again.
I wish I had Zenfone Assist active yet, but had to take down it.
Thanks
Hey jaabax, were you able to fix your device ?
Hi @vikrammarkiv.
Sorry for the big delay in response... I am not using this e-mail anymore and I quit fixing my phone.
Unfortunately I could not fix it and I ended up buying another phone.
Could you fix it?
Sorry again and hope you fixed it.
Best regards.
same issue, anyone got any update on fix?

Asus Zenfone 3 (ZE520KL) Brick

Hi
I recently tried loading Lineage OS on my Asus Zenfone 3 (ZE520KL). Didnt get far though. Got stuck unlocking my bootloader via adb. As a result phone is no longer detected in adb. The phone is getting stuck at ASUS logo and I cant boot to recovery either. It does get detected by fastboot but nothing more. I have tried :-
(1) loading various ROMs downloaded from Asus website onto the microsd card
(2) using asus flashtool (various versions). The latest one says battery is -1% while the earlier version returns various errors including "frp request server log access is denied" and "failed to write partition"
(3) I have (seemingly) been successful at pushing recovery and boot images via fastboot but the phone still wouldn't go past the Asus logo when rebooted
Read a lot of threads but not much seems to be working.
Help please !
Thanks
For what its worth, I ran the 'fastboot getvar all' command and this is what I got. Seems to be a truncated run.
Hello,
I have the same problem as you, I only have access to fastboot mode and can't access to recovery mode. Have you find a solution ?
Thanks.
How did u solve the problem?
