Micro Sim Card?

According to LG quick start guide pdf: ( http://stadium.weblogsinc.com/engadget/files/Nexus4_QSG_US_Print_V1.0_121005.pdf ). The nexus 4 takes a micro sim. Is this somehow different that regular sim card? Is this different that the one used in the Samsung Galaxy SII ?
a bit confused. Just wondering if I have to give t-mobile a call to get a "micro sim card"
The s3 also uses a micro sim card.

The one in the middle is a "regular" sim card and the one on the bottom a micro sim card (which has been broken out of the "regular" one). If your "regular" sim card doesn't have these "breaking points" you could also cut it into the right size with scissors, you would need to be careful though...

thank you. i have a regular sim. Guess I'll be ordering a new one closer to launch day, i don't wanna play arts and crafts with my sim card.
A wise decision, I would not want to do that either...unless my provider would charge me for it
SIM cutters can be had on eBay for like £2

Sim Card

My "old" sim card simply does not fit in the sim card slot on my new Note 3 N9000 factory unlock. It is too wide. I mean, its that simple. I might add that I have had the card for many, many years. It's a T-mobile card from Hungary.
Thanks for your help

Hi, I had the same thing. I upgraded from my Original Note 1 to the Note 3. The sim card was way too big. The shop I bought the phone from (a big media chain) used a funky gadget to cut my card to fit the Note 3. It works great. I even got the sim card cut out so I can recreate the original larger card and use it in the original Note 1. It works there too.
Can you ask your shop to cut your card to size?

I bought the phone from Amazon in the U.S and the card is a T-Mobile so I guess I'll ask T-Mobile for help.
This baffles me. I don't understand how Samsung would produce a device that can't accept a standard SIM card.
I anticipate that T-Mobile will not help me and that I will just have to return the phone and buy another.
thanks for you prompt reply and I'm glad that you got your problem solved.

The answer to your question is that I didn't know that sim cards came in different sizes. I'll surely ask them about it tomorrow.
Thanks.
You can either ask service or just search online for sim card template. The PDF I found a year ago had the outline of a regular SIM card. I taped my card to the print out and cut along the outlines of the small card. If you look for it on the internet, you can also find information that even cutting a bit through the connectors doesn't harm the card as long as you don't cut into the chip of the card. Just make sure you use an appropriate sized pair of scissors as it's getting hard to see the outlines if the one you use is too big. But with most everything in life: USE AT YOUR OWN RISK :fingers-crossed:
Thanks, Mikegrmn.
It was news to me but there is a sim card called a micro sim which I am hoping will do the trick for me.
Apparently this is not an uncommon problem because you can buy a gizmo that will trim Sim cards

Yes, like I said. That there are tools available was known to me. But when I bought my razr HD last year, it was some time close to the end of the week and a colleague told me that he had such a tool and that he would bring it the day after. Well, he forgot, and by Satarday night, I was so impatient that I just used my scissors and the template. Stores are closed here from Saturday afternoon to Monday and my colleague was out somewhere with his GF. And as I always use prepaid SIMs, I thought I'd give it a try. Hadn't itworked out, I'd just gotten a new SIM and a new phone number. I only hand out my number to a couple of people for my private phone, so changing numbers isn't a biggy

Trying really hard to accept that this isn't a wind up!
Micro-SIMs have been around for years, but didn't really hit consumer products until the iPhone was released 3 years ago.
Pretty much every flagship phone uses them now, except the iPhone 5 which uses an even smaller NANO-SIM. My Galaxy Note 1 was the last phone I owned that used a regular mini-SIM, and that was 2 years ago.
The world has moved on, and you've been left behind!
Regards,
Dave

Yup the Note 1 uses a regular sized sim
The Note 3 uses a Micro-Sim
You can pick one up from your carrier as replacement to swap your plan into
OR
Just cut your old sim..
All the posts above me got you covered :good:
The micro sim is the next generation sim cards. Every carrier supply new micro cards on demand. If not they are closing down pretty fast couse this is the new standard.
Why would you bother bying tools when a new micro sim is only one call to support away??...!
Smaller cards = more space awailable when designing phones.
Do you not remember when sim cards was the size of a credit card?

Samsung a8 two sims or micro sd.

Hello i just bought samsung a8 and thought i would be able to use both dual sim cards and micro sd, but to my disapointment i have to choose either second sim card or micro sd. can anyone propose something please? maybe a dual sim adapter or something else?
No, it is 1 sim, 1 SD. You should have done your research.

no one would ever think about this. You see dual sim and micro sd, all that you need you just buy it. i didn't even know if a hybrid slot existed. anyway i love this phone so i'll deal with it.

[Q]Does the Chinese version have microSD slot?

Hello there,
Just a few minutes ago I was browsing GearBest and, out of curiosity I checked their listing of OnePlus 5 (6/64 and 8/128). Except for the obvious price difference (25-45€ less) from the price on oneplus.net there is a mention of a TF card. Moreover, people asking about the card are getting confirmation that they are selling the Chinese version of the phone and that it has a TF card (TransFlash, which is more or less same as microSD).
What the duck? Is the Chinese version really have microSD slot?
Thanks for your answers!
Nope, there is only one global version of the OP5 and it doesnt have SD card slot. I have the Chinese OP5 too and no SD card slot
maybe yes
Let's try to find, IF IT IS POSSIBLE I will tell you.
Mine is "chinese version", bought at china, and it doesn't have SD slot
