(Q)Tmobile nexus 4 micro Sd card????

The tmobile website shows that the Nexus 4 is 16gb internal with expandable memory up to 64gb. Can anyone who purcahased the tmobile version today confirm that an sd card slot is present???

Thats what i thought!!!! but check out the website http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/Phones/cell-phone-detail.aspx?cell-phone=Google-Nexus-4 PLUS i spoke to someone in customer service who confirmed this as well. do you currently own the tmobile varient?

There is no T-Mobile variant. They just hiked up the price of the device. And the only thing micro used by the Nexus 4 is the Micro SIM Card.

Thats what i thought. Its just annoying how uneducated the tmobile customer service reps are that they can sit there and tell me on the phone that a micro sd card is present even after i told them thats a must-have for me. even that the website displays incorrect info. blahhhhh w/e lol

I spent some time on the phone with T-Mobile and they claim there is a variant with the micro SD card. I have not purchased it yet but I talked to customer service at T-Mobile a second time and the guy I talked to said he has one and it has it. Not sure if it's true and he's just blowing smoke but I'm hoping to order one for Christmas and if it doesn't have it, I'll raise hell and return it and get it from Google.

I bought mine at t-mobile and their wrong, it has none they might have confused the sim tray with a micro sd slot. But like the previous poster said there is none and there will never be one.

It does NOT. There are no variants, there is only one model of Nexus 4 (in possibly 2 colors). TMobile sells the same exact thing the Play Store does.
The mistake from the Tmobile page came from just blindly copy/pasting generic smartphone info. That's it.

Question about micro sim. I have a noosy

micro sim cutter with 2 adapters coming from amazon and I'm not clear on how this works. What I am under the impression of is that I can use the noosy to cut the sim from my sensation 4g down to the appropriate size for my N4 and the adapters are for me to put the sim into if I want to use it in my old phone again if I choose to. Does this at all resemble the reality of the situation? Thanks.

I got the noosy sim cutter. Those adapters suck. Use them at your own risk.

do not use the noosy adapter once cutting sim to N4 size unless you wish to risk damage to copper contacts. the adapter can push-in/pullout the copper spring-pins as it snags going in and coming out. i learned the hard way.

Exactly. Stay away from those adapters. I broke the copper sim contacts in my Nexus S attempting to use those things. The cutter itself works great though and the sim works fine in my N4.

You can use a MicroSIM in a normal sized slot. You just need to align it properly. That's what I'm currently until my Nexus 4 arrives in the mail.

Official T-Mobile Microsim Adapters

I went into a T-mobile store the other day and the rep told me they have microsim adapters available for $5. I've heard lots of stories of people who tried adapters they bought online that were bad quality and didn't fit well and ended up getting stuck inside the phone.
Does anyone have any experience with the official one t-mobile sells?

Micro to regular. I'm currently using my s2 so I'm going to buy a microsim for the N4. Google shipped me the wrong device and I want to make sure I can switch my sim to my s2 when I'm shipping the nexus back.
Also.. do you know if sim cards are one time uses, or I can call tmobile to have them switch between my regular and the micro?

I would just stick to using one sim card. You don't have to buy a sim card they usually go for $10-20 unless you get lucky and hey one for free. Go YouTube on hour to cut one using the template that's what I did and it works fine. If you failed the cut then you can buy one

I would not recommend T-Mobile's adapters! I tried inserting the adapter(without a sim card to see how it would work) into my old Galaxy S and it got stuck. I had to rip it out which caused the pins to bend and almost break! I had to smoosh them down several times before a sim card would register. I probably would of ruined my microsim had it been in there.

Please tell me you are not serious. If you insert ANY SIM adapter into the phone without the SIM card then the hole is left open where the SIM would go and the pins (which read the SIM) will lock the adapter into place. No matter which SIM adapter you use, you should NOT install it without the SIM card. I'm pretty sure it even says this on the SIM adapter's packaging.
Common sense people, try to use it.
...With that said, the T-Mobile SIM adapter has been working perfectly for me when swapping my micro SIM from the N4 to my Galaxy nexus.

They probably shipped an N4 with the wrong amount of internal storage (8GB vs 16GB). It's happened to a few others as well.

Must be nice for the people who ordered 8GB and got a 16GB instead

I've used a SIM adapter after I changed to micro-SIM waiting for my Nexus 4 to come in. It worked well in my phone, which was an Optimus T at the time. I know I could've purchased it cheaply online, but it worked well for what I needed and it was only $5. I still have mine just in case I decide to switch to a phone for a specific day or anything.

Yea by nexus, I meant the the N4 not the Galaxy Nexus lol. I ordered and was charged for two 16gb, but received two 8gb .
It happened to a few others? Do you know what's the situation for them now?

Sim Card

My "old" sim card simply does not fit in the sim card slot on my new Note 3 N9000 factory unlock. It is too wide. I mean, its that simple. I might add that I have had the card for many, many years. It's a T-mobile card from Hungary.

Hi, I had the same thing. I upgraded from my Original Note 1 to the Note 3. The sim card was way too big. The shop I bought the phone from (a big media chain) used a funky gadget to cut my card to fit the Note 3. It works great. I even got the sim card cut out so I can recreate the original larger card and use it in the original Note 1. It works there too.
Can you ask your shop to cut your card to size?

I bought the phone from Amazon in the U.S and the card is a T-Mobile so I guess I'll ask T-Mobile for help.
This baffles me. I don't understand how Samsung would produce a device that can't accept a standard SIM card.
I anticipate that T-Mobile will not help me and that I will just have to return the phone and buy another.

The answer to your question is that I didn't know that sim cards came in different sizes. I'll surely ask them about it tomorrow.

You can either ask service or just search online for sim card template. The PDF I found a year ago had the outline of a regular SIM card. I taped my card to the print out and cut along the outlines of the small card. If you look for it on the internet, you can also find information that even cutting a bit through the connectors doesn't harm the card as long as you don't cut into the chip of the card. Just make sure you use an appropriate sized pair of scissors as it's getting hard to see the outlines if the one you use is too big. It was news to me but there is a sim card called a micro sim which I am hoping will do the trick for me.
Apparently this is not an uncommon problem because you can buy a gizmo that will trim Sim cards

Yes, like I said. That there are tools available was known to me. But when I bought my razr HD last year, it was some time close to the end of the week and a colleague told me that he had such a tool and that he would bring it the day after. Well, he forgot, and by Satarday night, I was so impatient that I just used my scissors and the template. Stores are closed here from Saturday afternoon to Monday and my colleague was out somewhere with his GF. And as I always use prepaid SIMs, I thought I'd give it a try. Hadn't itworked out, I'd just gotten a new SIM and a new phone number. I only hand out my number to a couple of people for my private phone, so changing numbers isn't a biggy

Trying really hard to accept that this isn't a wind up!
Micro-SIMs have been around for years, but didn't really hit consumer products until the iPhone was released 3 years ago.
Pretty much every flagship phone uses them now, except the iPhone 5 which uses an even smaller NANO-SIM. My Galaxy Note 1 was the last phone I owned that used a regular mini-SIM, and that was 2 years ago.
The world has moved on, and you've been left behind!

Yup the Note 1 uses a regular sized sim
The Note 3 uses a Micro-Sim
You can pick one up from your carrier as replacement to swap your plan into
OR
Just cut your old sim..

The micro sim is the next generation sim cards. Every carrier supply new micro cards on demand. If not they are closing down pretty fast couse this is the new standard.
Why would you bother bying tools when a new micro sim is only one call to support away??...!
Smaller cards = more space awailable when designing phones.

You could always go to your service provider and they will give you a micro sim for free and deactivate your nano sim

Well in my case two different sim card providers and I'd like to alternate between them on my unlocked g2. But one is micro and the other nano.

Even if you could, I am almost absolutely positive you can find them online for less money.
