So an article from August 2017 tells you that it's confirmed?

That plus it's a good source, plus there have been a steady flow of updates in FF. An update just dropped on the 10th. It's obviously not oreo yet but still.

The article you "linked" does not even list sources of where the information is coming from. Good Source? I highly doubt it. The Honor 7 never even received an official Nougat update, what makes you think it will get Oreo? Your source is not even a source so stop spreading unconfirmed/false information in the forum.

Now now, the article don't have a source is a fact, there's a lot of website posting fake official looking update list and such, that guy didn't say anything wrong
OP on the other hand is just being abusive and vulgar right now

Possible UK Realease Date for Android 2.1

http://www.knowyourmobile.com/blog/445947/android_21_dated_for_htc_hero.html
These guys are saying Orange & T-Mobile are rolling out 2.1 on the 16th April
I know it's unofficial but certainly coincides with Legend release dates.
Hilariously, they site the XDA Developers forum as their source.
THEY SITE THIS SITE AS THEIR SOURCE
That's Hilarious, When did XDA Forums become creditably supplies of information for the Hero 2.1 release schedule? How many missed dates have people gotten their hopes up for?
Ah well, My hopes are in a bucket in a ditch. I will not be raising them

Agreed, to be honest I think it's more likely to be early May before they release 2.1, almost tempted to sell the Hero and just buy an unlocked Legend when it's released.

Another site reporting that the 16th April is the date:
http://mobilenews.omio.com/mobile-phone-handset-news/htc-hero-gets-date-for-android-2-1-update/
would be interesting to know where they are getting the information from, must just be a massive rumour mill somewhere.
theres really no point posting guessed released dates, lets just wait till atleast end of april

Heh I've given up on trying to educate people on correct spelling and grammar. Too many are of the attitude "well you know what I meant so it doesn't really matter".
My pet hates are of course your/you're and there/their/they're. It would probably take someone less than 5 minutes to get their head around given the correct definition yet incorrect use is rife on the Internet.
My pet hate is the use of the word "loose" when the correct word would be "lose".
For example: "I don't want to loose my settings".
Arghh!!!!
topic please?
OT
But it would be appropriate if you wished to loose your settings, like the hounds of hell, upon the unsuspecting public.
P.S. You could try the Villain 4.0 Beta 2. It seems pretty good and battery life is amazing at the moment for me. It is built from a Legend leak - but does chew up a lot of memory - I suspect that HTC engineers were liberal with memory use because the Legend has a bit more than our Heroes.

There are loads of threads with "possible" 2.1 release dates, and all of them are of less value than a discussion on grammar and spelling. It is especially true of this thread since it is only regurgitating a rumour that started on another thread in these very forums!
Personally, if I were a mod, I'd lock any thread with a purported 2.1 release date because they serve no purpose other than to get peoples dander up when the date inevitably passes with no update!

Dave

personally i'd be a bit pissed if the sprint hero got the update before the GSM one!

+1 !!! I definitely agree. I wish people would just post their useless links in an existing thread rather than keep starting new ones.
Ah more info, have no idea if this is any more reliable than anything else.
Engadget just posted it as being the 26th April http://www.engadget.com/2010/03/26/htc-hero-update-to-android-2-1-on-april-26th-in-home-country-of/
Just another rumour ...
Not user x and user y are spreading them, companys like engadget are spreading rumours and they have the aura to be close to the manufacturers but aren't ...
Why should HTC issue an official release date on plurk and nowhere else?
Let's just wait and see

lollipop update is a very confidental project that Motorola's staff really really should be careful to not spread it to public and always keep their mouth off to it
But why did he tell when the update was comeing, if he knew he should of kept it a secret?

Voice Your Support for Stock ROM release on ZTE Forum

There us a thread on ZTE forums asking about stock ROM release. If you can, please lend your support (comment, like, etc.) to show that there is an interest in this. I believe that now with a maintenance release around the corner is the right time to push for this. Here is a link to the thread:

Alright, you dragged me in here...
The core moderation team does not post in the Dev Lounge because news travels faster than lighting.
Do you remember the post that went up on XDA when I first made mention that that ZTE was listening about having the bootloader unlocked? Yeah, that was me and I was thrown under the bus.
We aren't ignoring the requests for the images. Everything has a process and some take longer than others. It's not as easy of a task as some may think.
Is it being worked on? Yes!
I'll leave it at that.

If ZTE would post their stock rom I would never have had to make an RMA claim on the phone - I could have fixed my problem myself
So no need to vote or post something in the ZTE forums?
I get my phone the next days, and I think we need to make more requests for the source codes from ZTE.
I just got off of live chat with ZTE support - I was told that R&D was working on posting the A2017U full factory images as we speak and I should check the ZTE forums for updates on that process (at least there is some hope now)

I'll repeat it again here as well
I have temporarily stopped the form from accepting new requests for good reason.
1.) The process for unlocking the bootloader will be changing if all goes well with testing. (This includes stock image)
2.) There is a software update coming next week - Since stock images have not yet been released, instead of adding more customers to the mix of those who will not be able to update, I've decided to not let this happen.

Source?
Always mention source when posting in XDA, if it's true then official update for other regions is also on its way! ?
It's always best to have a source link?? You know how many Moto G5 users are gonna be upset and or pissed if this this is false ?
Gonna be lit if this is legit, means we're getting close ?
Rather than start, or perpetuate what might be false or untrue claims, please always include the source of your claim.
Word of mouth rumors, not substantiated by well known, reliable sites really have no place in Xda.
If that's the case without soak testing do you still think Moto will release oreo
I didn't confirm anything, if you Read the OP i said if someone knows if its true.
It looks like it is a beta of oreo, if people say the truth. probably date is the end of january for official rollout.
Sorry if i gave false hopes, but i never said it was a true rollout, actually i was asking.
Close the thread please.

There has been no mention of it in the official Lenovo forums, if it was rolling out anywhere that thread would be blowing up...
We haven't even caught wind of a beta or soak test, I doubt there is a release going on, official or otherwise.

Hello everyone this the last time I'm writing on this topic
Techdroider just mention this on there blog
Yesterday, we saw many websites reporting the news that Motorola is rolling out Oreo to a large number of devices including the Moto X4, Moto Z and Z2 Series, Moto G5, Moto G5s Plus, and Moto G4 Plus. Well, the news is quite misleading as the Official Press Release from Motorola only says that the Moto X4 is getting the Oreo update in Australia starting today and the eligible devices for Oreo includes Moto Z and Z2 Series, Moto G5, Moto G5s Plus, and Moto G4 Plus. That said, Don't get spun by Internet rumors.
Complete details click here :-https://www.techdroider.com/2018/02/motorola-posts-february-2018-release-notes-moto-z-z2-play-force.html?m=1
Yeah, it is weird that an almost unknown forum hot the press information, while the rest of the important sites didn't get any information..
It's legit

Hi, editor for Ausdroid here. The information pertaining to the launch of Oreo for this list of phones came from the PR company representing Motorola in Australia. We have double checked with them and they confirmed that Oreo is indeed coming to these devices. The initial launch is in Australia and New Zealand. The rest of the world will follow.
