Voice Your Support for Stock ROM release on ZTE Forum - ZTE Axon 7 Questions & Answers

There us a thread on ZTE forums asking about stock ROM release. If you can, please lend your support (comment, like, etc.) to show that there is an interest in this. I believe that now with a maintenance release around the corner is the right time to push for this. Here is a link to the thread:

The following quote is from a thread I stared like month or so.
Re: ZTE A2017U_0B20 FULL Update Package / Factory Image???

Alright, you dragged me in here...
The core moderation team does not post in the Dev Lounge because news travels faster than lighting.
Do you remember the post that went up on XDA when I first made mention that that ZTE was listening about having the bootloader unlocked? Yeah, that was me and I was thrown under the bus.
We aren't ignoring the requests for the images. Everything has a process and some take longer than others. It's not as easy of a task as some may think.
Is it being worked on? Yes!
I'll leave it at that.

If ZTE would post their stock rom I would never have had to make an RMA claim on the phone - I could have fixed my problem myself

So no need to vote or post something in the ZTE forums?
I get my phone the next days, and I think we need to make more requests for the source codes from ZTE.

I just got off of live chat with ZTE support - I was told that R&D was working on posting the A2017U full factory images as we speak and I should check the ZTE forums for updates on that process (at least there is some hope now)

I'll repeat it again here as well
I have temporarily stopped the form from accepting new requests for good reason.
1.) The process for unlocking the bootloader will be changing if all goes well with testing. (This includes stock image)
2.) There is a software update coming next week - Since stock images have not yet been released, instead of adding more customers to the mix of those who will not be able to update, I've decided to not let this happen.

I think you must be referring to this:

Sounds like there is some potential there, but we will have to see if anyone can turn the overflow into something useful.
I just took that update yesterday too...lol
Problem is this news is three days old and nothing new has come of it. I'm skeptical that he ran into a roadblock.

What update should we not go passed, I took the update for the exchange server fix, i am currently on 2.1-update1.
How do we stop taking updates? the last one went automatically for me

Not sure about this 'opportunity' but that update included a recovery update which could have patch a yet unknown/released bug.
I hate to give bad news, but I'm about 99% sure that the exploit is for the Droid Eris. He mentions leaks (there have been 3 leaks for the Eris) and this was first posted by Zifnab on the Eris forum the other day.
This MAY have provide some insight into a possible root method for the incredible, but, personally, I am not optimistic considering all of the time between releases, the newer kernel, etc.
Sorry everyone.
he does seem to be working mainly on the eris but the main reason i posted it was because he says in this thread that it should work on any HTC device that uses fastboot.
while i know squat about the area, i figured it was worth linking to.
This looks interesting and useful, even if the information is for the Eris the post says it would work on all HTC devices with fastboot.
All HTC devices come with fastboot so if this is real its most credible post to hit the forums for the incredible.
1Way
Head over to the XDA Eris section and talk to him about what he's doing.

Asus Transformer NVFlash Stock 3.1 Recovery Roms

This post has been removed because I don't have time to update the contents and support people on this site as well as my own. If you need to revert back to stock and you need these files they are available at my website where I keep the files updated and try to support people.
http://tabletroms.com/forums/showthread.php?1071-Asus-Transformer-NVFlash-Stock-3.1-Recovery-Roms
Thanks zerofeel, it worked perfectly. I did it with widows 7 x64 and it took about 3mins for the nvflash and about 2mins for first boot. I was back to 3.1/US total stock in just under 5mins
MD5 - 6E3E5BC175B426CB0654659A2E1C4949 for nvflash_windows.zip
thanks, but could you also post the WW version?
Great!
A WW version would be welcome!

People have been asking for a way to unbrick and unroot their transformers on my website tabletroms.com, so tonight I built a set of NVFlash recovery images for you all to use. Please enjoy the fruits of my labor. This also allows people to test all the great roms and know that they have an easy way to get back.
As always a special thanks to Rayman, Bumble-Bee, and Roach.

I am an evil man for making you register to get the download links.... wooohooohahahahaha
How'd you create them? Could you do a TW version?
THanks.
Nice job and very helpful, but please post files somewhere where they are not throttled.

Plus side of forcing registration is the ability to sell advertising on you site if it has a high number of registered users.
Negative side is the liability incurred should the database be hacked and stolen.
Tough choice.
Would love to see a download mirror for the us and ww stock roms.
I'm running a paid version of vbulletin just like xda.

..I agree / is this forum policy?!
I registered and got the links. Either I am too naive or others are too paranoid
The question is now: do I just flash the ROMs with CWM recovery or is there any other preferred method? I guess once I did this I can root using the method shown here?
Thanks!
It appears the links are to a paid download site.

Most of these downloads are linked to a site where you get certain advantages when you pay for an account such as faster download speeds, no limits per day, no waiting before download etc. But I did not pay and still got the file in ~10 min. Why is everyone here so hostile all the sudden???
Good question I run a great community that has done a lot of good **** for people. This is the first and last time I will ever post my **** on xda. Nothing against the site, but some of you are real assholes. I run my community on a server in my garage and have paid for the server, software, and bandwidth and you make stupid comments. The software this site runs on is identical to the software I use and its not cheap. I have google ads to fund contests, get devices for people, pay for my overhead, etc. What do you all do but run you mouth?
Last comment I will make on this site about my release.

Making people register at a external site is illegal on xda. Not trying to be a douche but its the rules.

Atrix 2.3.3 in July?

Looks like Kenneth from Briefmobile has identified a release in July for the Atrix 4g. In addition, it appears, we won't be going straight to 2.3.4 after all. It'll start with 2.3.3.
For once, I think it would be nice to have the latest release on our Atrix, but I suppose that's a bit much to ask. Here's to hoping it's not a July 31 release date.

OH I know.

Actually,

Thanks for the link.
AT&T only?
It took Australia 4 months to get the Atrix released here, I live in hope that it doesn't take Telstra/Motorola an extra 4 months to release the 2.3.3 update.
However, living in hope only leads to disappointment.
Too bad it's not 2.3.4... I really can't imagine there are enough changes in that version that it would take so long to put blur on it.
Means August or September for us on Bell. Maybe.
Sigh.
Well, they did say they planned to release Gingerbread to the Atrix for USA and Europe simultaneously............don't know if that included Canada lol
Hey guys what us different 2.3.3 and 2.3.4?

The discussion for this is already going on in Kenneths thread in the development forum where he announced this news in an update. Why create another thread to clutter things up when the owner of the information already updated it the day before you posted this???

A software release discussion is more beneficial to users here in the general section. Since I'm not a developer or have any interest in coding I don't spend any time there. It's not "cluttering" anything up.

I would disagree............all the good news comes from the developer forum, and if you don't read there, you will not learn anything, or have any root, sideloading, etc. because that's where everything is regarding that. Kenneths thread is open discussion about the impending updates, etc. He is not developing it, now is he?...............but it is a development regarding the Atrix nonetheless.

I didn't say he was developing it but the assumption is that the developer section is for people that want to code custom ROMs, hax, etc. There are plenty of general users that aren't advanced that are looking for information and come to the general section.

Google to Cut 20% of Motorola's Staff

The biggest cut off will be in USA. What is worst, employees were notitied just yesterday: This will definitely delay the ICS update!
Cant provide source (no enough posts, wtf?!?). Just check your favorite RSS News feed.
I posted (with source) already in ics update thread. You don't need to open new thread, especially as new user
No ICS anymore.... ALL schedule ICS being testing period will be delayed with no other excuse better than this one! No more staff for supporting. :silly:

Before and when I was typing the thread, there were not any related thread posted. Thread duplication wasn't pretended.
Anyway, sad news for Motorola owners.
P.S. I am an older user, just a new account. Cheers.
At this point, I'd be happy if they just released the drivers. I've been waiting to go to CM9/10 because it breaks too much functionality without them.

Since when did a 20% staff cut mean no more staff?
OP, I don't think the biggest cut off being in the USA is correct.
http://www.businessweek.com/news/20...ut-about-4-000-employees-in-its-motorola-unit
"Two-thirds of the reductions will be outside the U.S."
Looks like they had a higher proportion of management being let go instead of engineers that could be working on ICS/JB, which is semi-good news.

lollipop update is a very confidental project that Motorola's staff really really should be careful to not spread it to public and always keep their mouth off to it
But why did he tell when the update was comeing, if he knew he should of kept it a secret?
