Need to get phone to back to stock or close to - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

Hi guys,
I need to get my phone back to stock or as close to so that it can be looked at for warranty.
The place I bought my phone from just asked me to get it back to as close to stock as possible.
It is running RENOVATE ICE and has TWRP
So I'm wondering what would be the best method for me to go about getting it back to stock?
Thanks everyone

You can flash the stock firmware from Odin. Here's the guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/how-to/official-stock-firmware-update-odin-t3598172
It will reset the phone to factory state (rom, bootloader, recovery), but knox will stay 0x0.

How to return phone to bone stock?

Anyone have a set of instructions or a link to returning my phone to completely bone stock? I know I can flash an unrooted and stock firmware, but the bootloader will still be unlocked. I need to RMA my phone and the store has turned me away in the past for having a modified firmware or bootloader.

The boot loader is not locked stock, so that's not a problem. Simply download the MF9 firmware and install using odin. Perform a factory reset in the stock recovery. Then use Triangleaway to reset the flash counter and you will be stock with no signs of tampering.

dont you have to be rooted to use TriangleAway? I would assume that using Odin to go back to MF9 would cause you to lose root, no?
Correct. You need to be rooted for TA.
What I'd do is use TA first. Then use Odin to install MF9 (or one of the older stock rom's). If the download screen still says custom, do another RTN/Factory Reset. That should clean it all up.
You could also try to just flash the stock recovery. Then run TA and see if that resets it all to Official on the Download screen. If it does, all you should need to do from there is Full Unroot from the SuperUser app.

Download the ODIN one click for SPH-L720_MDC_Stock_Restore.exe and follow the instructions on that site.
Puts you back at original release and then if you want, you can update through Sprint for the two upgrades you'll need to get back to MF9. You'll have everything back to stock, no counter trips and everything back at zero. I wish they made the ODIN one clicks for MF9, they're so easy.

Thank you! This is what I needed....
Coming from the Galaxy S2, it seemed like there were a million 1-click ODINS. Any idea why the S4 doesn't have these?

Well, I think that answer is complicated because there was some sort of fall out between users here at XDA and people that were part of the SXTP forums or they started their own forums or whatever. I don't really get into those politic things, I just look for resources that are useful and thank all those that are involved. That and there really aren't as many builds coming out for the S4 like there were for the S2 and the S3 for that matter.

[Q] Noob Question on upgrading to 4.4.2 for Canadian Variant SGH-I337M

My apology if this has been asked as I've scanned through a few with not much luck.
Came across this and i went to sammobile and dl the TELUS 4.4.2 firmware and judging by this article, this is an non-wipe install via Odin3.
I know it is best to wipe and start fresh but hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction as I would like to upgrade without wiping.
Thanks a bunch!

You cant update your phone without whipping your device if using odin unless its an OTA cause if you do you will most like end up in boot llop thus just backup and then flash using odin, what i assume from the article is that it wont wipe your internal sd card but will wipe your data i.e applications and settings etc.
Depends where you are trying to get to..... if you are not rooted on 4.3 and just want to go to 4.4.2, I would just use Kies. If you are rooted and want to go to 4.4.2 then yes this looks like the right method. Things to concider are.... do you want to be able to go back to 4.3 at anytime is so, you really shouldn't use this method as I believe it is going to update your bootloader which means no going back... If you intend on rooting anyway, I would suggest using CF- auto root, added a custom recovery and flashing Mapleleaf rom..... plus the NC1 modem... this is mostly stock, you will have root access and retain the 4.3 bootloader should you want to revert back to 4.3.......this will trip you Knox so if you want to keep warrenty well this isn't a good way to go either... unless of course you have already tripped it...

Two part question. KNOX and stock?

I've been way out of the loop on Android for a while and I'm just now getting back.
First of all, does flashing something that will get me KNOX mean anything if I don't care about my warranty and can I still flash custom ROMs as I please?
Once that's answered, I need an easy way to get back to a stock (Preferably rooted with TWRP) ROM so I can fix my data connection. I've tried a few ROMs so far but they all seem to be failing

[Q] restoring stock recovery, rom, wiping root

Heya,
I need to returns my phone to as-purchased-state, which means if I am not missing anything - unroot, stock rom, stock recovery
I have rooted the phone, installed custom ROM (cloudy) and TWRP.
On my previous phone, samsung s2, the download mode had a flash counter that indicated how many times I flashed a rom.
On my LG G2, the download mode just says "rooted".
1) So where do I get a stock rom from?
2) Where do I get stock recovery?
3) How do I wipe any evidence of root?
4) In what order do I need to do everything?
I did google and came up with some of these answers, but I put my trust in XDA and hoping I won't f*ck my phone up by doing something in the wrong order.
Thanks!
Sorry this isn't an answer, but it might help you get an answer.
You may want to remove the part where you are admitting to warranty fraud.
Even though this is a hacking forum, people still disapprove of it.

Use the kdz method to return to stock. Its in the dev forum. You need the drivers for your phone, the kdz firmware, lgflash tool. All can be found in the dev section.

Need to return phone to original state..

Hey!
Sad to say that my trusty Note 4 which ive had since its release is being traded in for a shiney new Note 9. I got £200 as a trade in with samsung..but it clearly states that the phone must not be unlocked or tampered with..just wondering if anyone could advise me on how to return the phone so that no one will know that i unlocked it? Many thxs! ?
Afraid that the 0x1 knox will never go back to 0x0. As for the stock software, yes, it's possible to flash it with Odin.
I'm going to assume that by unlocking, you mean that you've rooted and possibly installed a custom ROM. You can revert back to stock by flashing a stock firmware with Odin, but unfortunately there's no way to reset the Knox warranty bit you triggered by booting a custom recovery and/or kernel, back to 0x0 (which is very likely to be what they will be looking at).
