Is it possible to root the oppo A37FW? - Oppo A37 Questions & Answers

The most obvious guide on XDA is the All in one Oppo a37f guide :- rooting, downgrading , unlock bootloader and many more
However that is only for the A37F not the A37FW. I've tried the guide there and my phone got bricked (it won't boot and kept vibrating)
Searching the internet doesn't have answers either, so I'm pretty sure the oppo A37FW can't be rooted.
I'm asking only to confirm this
EDIT: I also need help on unbricking my oppo, I've followed this tutorial but I could not get the volcano tool to work. Please advise..
EDIT2: I fixed it by following this tutorial

The bottom line is if you want to root your A37FW, then do not upgrade the phone version and let the build be 160xxxi instead of the latest 170xxx - then you might be able to root your device using KingoRoot. If you upgraded your phone, at the moment you cannot root your device as its patched. So we have to wait.

this firmware help me from brick

[Q] Problems with rooting P700 on v10c

Hi there,
I've been looking for a way to root my phone and found petrescu's rooting guide. He said there it was tested on V10 A,C, I. My software is v10c-DEC-07-2012, however the process stucks at "Waiting..." sign in the window.
What am I doing wrong? Debugging is turned ON and LG software installed ;|
Thanks in advance!
I'm not sure what Petrescu's guide is but I personally used the rooting method from this link and my L7 was rooted within less than 5 minutes!
Follow the link at the end of this website to unlock the bootloader then follow the link for installing CWM and you won't have any issue.
I haven't found a better guide than this so far...
This is petrescu's guide - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1906133
The rooting method is the same, even files package is identical. While rooting, the shell is stuck at "Waiting..." or a little further at "Waiting for /data/local.prop..."
I've attached the screen.
UPDATE: Posting again for visibility.
Apparently, rooting doesn't work because I have v10C local polish version and I need OPEN version of v10c. Can someone tell me how to flash this?

@Macors - why you don't update to newest software and then try to root??

Ok, I updated the phone to V20C ( Android 4.1.2 ) version. What is the method of rooting this software?
[EDIT] Finally rooted my phone with Framaroot app. Thanks for the "tremendous" support I guess.

Steping up my G2!

Hello, i am looking for help to find out what i need to set up/have in order to flash a custom rom.
All i have is stock G2 with the latest update, phone model is LG-D802, android version is 4.4.2 and it not rooted.
I know first off i need to root the damn thing, but if any of you could point out some kind of post or guide with some kind of step by step info of how to root and after that how to continue with a flash of rom that would be awesome.
I`ve spend some time around the forum looking for such post but couldnt find one, and i am kinda scared to do this on my own since i`ve soft bricked a lot of my old devices.

[Q] Recent Bootloader Unlock and root access guides

Hello everyone, I'm a brand new member with a couple questions.
I have read many threads here and elsewhere and have recently found two possible sources of information to help me finally unlock my boot loader > backup nandroid > flash cyanogenmod. Profit.
My Droid Razr M has root access. System Version: 98.18.94.XT907.Verizon.en.US / Android JB 4.1.2 / Build Number 9.8.1Q-94
Wen I started, I got used to the idea of staying with JB 4.1.2. It has worked well over the year. And having root and Titanium Backup has given me great power over my phone.
I would like to ask if it is possible to both root and unlock the newer KK 4.4.2 using the these methods I have found and my phone.
First PrankCallPimp youtube guide states I need to flash from JB 4.1.2 to Verizon stock KK 4.4.2 using RSDLite
Second Mr. Blue Coat provides a better stepwise guide outlining root access and unlock procedures, but starting with KK 4.4.2. Very Complete Blog.
I have assembled all of the files these sources suggest to have on hand during the project.
Additional questions. Is PrankCallPimp's method to flash to KK 4.4.2 using VZW_XT907_4.4.2-KDA20.62-10.1_CFC_1FF.xml files in RSDLite correct? His video cuts out after a while. After flashing KK 4.4.2 the phone will be similar to a factory reset and be susceptible to OTA updates. Currently I use Voodoo OTA to prevent updates. Should I reinstall Voodoo OTA to prevent Verizon pushed updates or go from there to root access and boot loader unlock procedures?
I have never liked following a youtube guide and wonder if there is a printed version I could review before starting. Also I installed RSDLite and my phone can be detected by the program.
I think if Mr. Blue Coats guide is acceptable to everyone, I could follow it with no problems.
What I'm worried about is giving up my currently profitable root access on JB 4.1.2 to go to KK 4.4.2.
It seems that if I really want an unlocked boot loader, I must take KK 4.4.2
If these two guides work, with someone's help, I would be happy to join them into a single clear guide to post here.
I lack the experience most of you have so I'm reaching out with these questions before I even consider going through with this.
Thanks All. Ps. I'm in no hurry.
Read this thoroughly
Thank You
Thank you for the ultrafast help!
There was my answer: 4. RESTORING / UPGRADING STOCK FIRMWARE.
And all the additional tools required for root access and boot loader unlock.
I have a question

HTC Desire 820s lollipop are difficult to unlock and to root or rather we have not been able to do it in a proper way. But a guy has been able to unlock his bootloader and shared his system files called "pgfs" with us. Sources: Gibz97 thread in the post #2!
To flash these unlock files, you will need to install SP flash tool - a flash tool for mediatek phones. Here along with proper drivers here
Normally, we need to flash the pgfs unlock files ONLY, inside the whole firmware 820s lollipop folder to get a successful result
(in other words, replace the pgfs files in firmware folder, load scatter file in sp flash tool and tick pg1fs and pg2fs only)
You can download these specific files here if you don't want to download the whole lollipop 820s firmware
Sources : Mohamed Yaser thread > Root files
Then to proceed you need to follow the Instructions or you can try this one here
You should follow the steps to do it properly and Do it at your own risk.
If it don't work for you, please refer and ask help in this specific thread or create a new thread in the Q&A, Help and Troubleshooting section as you're in a wrong one to ask for help
Then if you got this error, follow this instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/des...we-install-t3295497/post64879033#post64879033 and you can read the previous comments to understand what it means. Good luck

[Help] - Root S8 G-950U1 (Snapdragon)

Hello guys,
I need some help to root my phone. I googling and realized that the SM-950U1 is one of the most annoying Samsungs to root, so I came here to ask for your help !
I am extremely layman and I have no idea what to do to get my root, I searched the internet and saw that the first step would be to enable "Oem Unlocking" in "Developer Mode", but this option did not appear on my Android (9.0 Pie), so I saw that there is a way to fix this, but I followed several tutorials and videos and no method worked...
I am willing to do a little donation to the kind soul who can help me
Thank you !

The U / U1 ( Snapdragon ) models don't have the ability to have the OEM unlocked.
For possible root method see s8 rom section and check out threads from jrkruse.
