J700H unresponsive buttons when the phone is on but reponds on recovery and when the - Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) Questions & Answers

Hello guys! I have been having this problem for a week now
When the phone is one home, recent, back buttons do not work at all
Power button can only put the screen to sleep but not wake it and i can switch on the phone just fine
I tried using an app to wake it through proximity sensor it only vibrates to show the app is working but can not wake the screen
Volume buttons only work when media is played otherwise not responding
as i said i can boot to recovery or download mode with home , power and volume buttons just fine and when in recovery (TWRP) everything works fine.. I can use all home and back buttons
Also when phone is off and connected to charger.. I can check the battery percent by pressing home button just fine
I can use volume buttons to go or cancel download mode just fine
The code *#0#* shows power and volume test success but not home, recent and back
The problems happen when the phone is booted up
Some apps like back button works and they are what i'm using to go home back and recent
What i tried
Hard reset
Flashed new stock rom with odin though seemed like it was just updating had to wipe os first with twrp
Flashed multiple custom roms
Flashed other j7's backup os to my phone
They all didn't work and i know it is not hardware because they work just fine when phone is off , on recovery and on download mode
Please, please help me.. It has been a week now and it hurts me i have to reboot my phone every time i receive calls because screen can't wake up and also keep it awake all the time to avoid removing the battery to reboot

Got Same Problem On my Samsung J730G , Any Fix ?

[Q] volume control "up" button stuck constantly

Hi,
i have a htc touch hd with energy rom installed, i have read about the volume problem with this rom but i would like to make sure this is software related before i got any further, anyway heres my problem - as soon as i switch the phone on, everything loads then the volume up button presses itself constantly, causing the phone to constantly beep, if i then restart the phone, it vibrates 3 times and fails to come on, i have to remove the battery for a minute or so to get the phone back on then the same happens again.
so i installed the latest version of energy rom and it still happens except the volume control screen has been removed so now whenever im in a menu or drop box, it constantly changes the selected item to the option above (as if im physically pressing the volume up button).
is this software related or is the volume button physically broken.
the reason i ask before trying the patch is because the phone will need reflashin to be able to install the patch (because it will not work with the vol button stuck) and if i reflash with a stuck volume button it might crash and brick the phone. if its a hardware fault i am capable of fixing it myself.

[Q] Keys not working?

I have searched and searched for a fix for this problem,
no keys are working (volume up, volume down, lock/power, options, home & back), after losing its IMEI number during a flight (no idea how) I took it to a repair shop to which they said they couldn't fix, but as I left the shop walking down the road I turned the phone on, only to see a 4G connection and software from a custom rom flash.
Feeling happy as they didn't charge me for the repair I try to use my phone as normal, send a text message and tried to return to the previous screen via the back button, not working.... I then went on to try every other button, still, not working..
I get home and try to boot in to recovery mode, it worked... The volume button worked?
I also booted in to download mode and put a different rom on, still not working whilst phone is in normal state.
Any one else experienced this or know of a fix?
Thanks in advance.
Rafiki.

Black screen after flashing a rom! (Galaxy Tab 4 SM-T235)

I flashed this rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-4/development/t235-cyanogenmod-12-1-t235y-t3145795) a few hours ago and it was working perfectly. Shortly after the screen went black.
When pressing on the volume buttons, i can hear the volume adjusting so I don't think I bricked my device. I can also use the volume buttons to take a screenshot and I can hear the sound indicating that the screenshot was saved. I also tried to boot into recovery but had no such luck. I was able to boot into Odin mode and had no issues so I don't think this is a hardware problem but I can't be sure. Please help!!:crying:

Screne turned off?

Randomly the screen just turned off...I know the phone is still functioning because I can hear my texts coming in...and I tried the screenshot and can hear the screenshot sound...
Not sure what happen.... I tried a hard reset with volume down and power...but doesn't fix.
Volume down and power is to reboot to recovery but if the screen is not responding that probably won't work either. When my screen wouldn't turn on i held the power button plus Volume up which boots into Odin which then it asks you do u want to enter Odin. Volume up I believe cancels and reboots the system normally.

Enable auto brightness and test the power button?
AutoRCM. Do what you usually do to push your payload of choice.

Sorry I think i wasnt clear, I can do everything and I am on Auto Rcm, the problem is once booted into android I am not able to use the power button to wake the device if the screen turns off. If I hold down power button it shuts down the device. Im not sure why the power button isnt registering properly on android it works fine on the switch os. I have tried modifing the settings to no avail

You can not wake the device if the screen goes off on its own because it goes into deep sleep and that is broken on the current android build.

hmm but pressing the power button should turn off the screen?...because it doesnt do that for me anymore..it used to before. Reinstalling did not fix it. I do have have Su lineage OS flashed for root.
My power button also began behaving oddly at random. Enabling auto brightness helps. If I disable auto brightness my power button will stop taking commands unless held. Flashing light into or blocking the front sensor will wake the screen instead.

You are right thats such a weird bug. Enabling the auto brightness did help for me too. Thanks!
Hi .. I have the same problem with the power button not working, it turns out that it is because AutoRCM is ON in Hekate. When booting HOS or Atmos (emuMMC or SysNand), then when low bat or Power turn off the Nintendo Switch, it causes the Power button to be problematic when then boot LineageOS Android.
to fix it, go back to Atmos (EmuMMC or SysNand), go to photo (Homebrew), select Boot to Payload (back to Hekate). then boot the LineageOS Android, the Power button will work again ..
