Stock image recovery? - Moto E4 Questions & Answers

Hi guys, can anyone share the stock recovery image for Moto e4 mediatek variant. I've tired finding it in the stock but couldn't find it
It would really help
Thanks

Shouldn't you be able to pull it form the appropriate firmware from here?

No these are for Qualcomm versions only

OK. Sorry. I thought since there was firmware for different carriers that the carriers may have used different chipsets. From what I understand now, it seems the US variants are qcom and others are Mediatek. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

If you can't find the firmware, look in your system folder for a file called recovery-from-boot.p.bak it will be at the bottom right before build.prop if it's there. If it is, rename it to recovery-from-boot.p without the .bak then reboot. This should make your stock recovery reflash.

[Q] Going back to gingerbread from 1.0.1

Is there any way to go back to flyme gingerbread after upgrading to flyme 1.0.1 ?
Depends on your model.
For the HK old dual core, see http://www.meizume.com/meizu-mx-firmware/14536-how-rollback-2-3-5-flyme-1-03-a.html
The CN model is a bit more of trouble as it involves reflashing the recovery partition.

The files that are downloaded from the link are .zip files, don't you need .bin files to update/rollback?
And yeah, I have the HK dual core version.

How do i make sure i have the HK version and not the CN version?
When i boot into the system upgrade menu, it says to "put the update.bin into the SD card, and then update the OS image!", doesn't say anything about a .zip file.
You own a CN device.
Sorry my answer wasn't true. I've seen that my HK device asks me for bin too...

In terminal either on the phone or in adb shell, run the command (cat /proc/uboot_version) without the parenthesis. If it returns "oversea" you have a HK device. If not, you have a CN device.
Or just try to flash a .zip firmware

It seems that the phone always asks for the current format. My phone asks for zip again.

Can you rephrase your question or point out what you don't understand (or what doesn't work) in the forementioned howto?

Yeah sure, sorry for being vague. In the how-to it says to first update to 1.03, the files in the download are .zip files. What i'm not sure is how to update using the .zip files because i've only used .bin files. When i boot into the system upgrade menu(power+vol up), it says "put the update.bin into the SD card, and then update the OS image!" and with no mention about .zip files. So how do i update/rollback using the .zip file?
You flash them exactly like the bin files. if it is not working you own a CN device.

I couldn't flash the vanilla beta on my HK dual core after installing flyme 1.0.5
You may need to roll-back to gingerbread to obtain the gb bootloader and recovery, as it seems to be less picky so to speak.
Use this guide to accomplish this. Link!

no. it is the same recovery. even though it asks for an update.bin file it will accept update.zip
make sure that the update.zip you intend to flash is the only one on the sdcard root. :)

With flashfire you can backup and restore modem partitions, they are stored by default in l4z format.
I've got my own for MM and N, my device is XT1642 if anyone want's them I can share.

Even if you did I don't think it would make any difference.
If you're in stock N I recommend you stay with N modem, flashing MM modem won't help.
Open a separate question for the 2g issue in the questions & answers section, maybe someone has been able to solve it and can point you out in the right direction.

No network service after flashing h440n kdz

Issue with your network coverage appeared before or after you flashed the provided aboot? You should know that we JUST made that work (literally less than two hours), you can't expect no issues.
You should probably wait till we have a working TWRP recovery so you'll be able to flash a dual sim rom, but if you're still willing to try you might as well provide more information

Well it appeared right after flashing h440n rom. I dont think it has to do anything with the aboot file

Then maybe flashing the modem from a stock LP h422 rom would solve that issue, since secure boot is disabled by the patched aboot it shouldn't be a problem
-I think-, actually I can't tell for sure if the modem.bin is all you need

You need to follow the procedure detailed by fobos in the general thread to found the aboot block but instead of looking for the aboot you should write down the modem and radio ones.
Once you did that get a h422 rom, google and download "WindowsLGFirmwareExtract", extract the DZ file, then extract the modem.bin from that DZ and flash the same way we did with aboot but with the modem block (and maybe the radio one but IDK how is called honestly, you have to figure out by yourself)

@mayankjet, did you still with problems with your device?
I have a brazilian dual-sim version (H442f). I only could get phone and 3G/4G coverage after adding this line to build.prop and rebooting the phone (additional_build_properties section, close to line 200):
Code:
#
# ADDITIONAL_BUILD_PROPERTIES
#
[COLOR="Red"][B]persist.radio.multisim.config=dsds[/B][/COLOR]
I copied this from the build.prop from the build.prop of lollipop version. By luck, it worked.
Don't try to use older versions of modem.img, since it can lead to muting the sounds (music). How do I know? Been there, done that

Yes, the problem still persist. That's why I'm on lollipop, will try your fix hoping it will work.

J320AUCU2APJ2 Stock Firmware for Galaxy Express Prime (J320A) - AT&T

Hello
Please, could someone upload the J320AUCU2APJ2 (stock,6.0.1) firmware for J320A ?
If not, having J320AUCU2AQC1 would be also great.
I'll be very grateful !
APJ2
The newer AQC1 is in the root thread I believe

Big Thanks!
In the root you have the AQA1, not AQC1, so could you please upload AQC1,too ?
BTW, to update from the APC9 (oldest) version I just need to flash this file (AP) through Odin, without 3 other file (CP,BL,CSC etc.) , right ?
Thanks @DamienMc
Ahh my mistake I haven't seen aqc1, maybe fire up smartswitch and see
Yeah the ap has all the important stuff (boot, recovery, system)

It says that my device is up to date (APC9) , will try again after carrier-unlocking it.
UPDATE: no luck, even after manually updating to AQA1, says no updates (probably because I am not an at&t customer).

Is it possible to flash the firmware of an S5 from a different region?

I recently purchased a Galaxy S5 model (SM-G900L) and want to flash it with the (SM-G900I) firmware. Is this possible using only Odin? No root etc?
Thanks

Will it just not accept the firmware or will it cause problems?
It will not accept the firmware. And if it accepts it, then all sort of problems will come. Not now, but at a later date.
It is possible. Install TWRP. Make a zip from the original rom and install it as a zip by TWRP.
Tool to create zip is:
Assayed Kitchen
Im Using the G900F Rom for an G900T3 Phone.
But you can't flash another modem, firmware or modem from another phone.

I am not so much worried about the modem it's just that the L I bought has tonnes of Korean text in places I can't change along with the apps that have no relevance to me. Flashing it with the Aussie I firmware would be really helpful just to remove that stuff.

I don't know what L means? Is it Quadcore Snapdragon?
You can't damage your phone by flashing the firmware via Zip in TWRP.
The worst case is to install the Original Firmware again.

Sorry I was abbreviating. L as in SM-G900L as opposed to SM-G900I.
You need an unlocked boot loader to use TWRP right?

Yes, you can do it by installing the correct version of TWRP by ODIN.
Maybe you'll have to acktivate the OEM Feature in the Developer Options first.
