Xiaomi - Mi A1 : Poor audio quality during phone calls :Call with speakerphone on/off - Xiaomi Mi A1 Questions & Answers

I am experiencing poor audio quality during phone calls whether speakerphone is 'on' or 'off' like -
Not audible voice - Voice is not clear on the other end of the line.
Voice cracking / muffled sound.
Please note even normal call(with speakerphone off) having poor quality of audio.
cellular network is ok - showing 3g on network icon.
Is there any configuration/setting can be done to avoid this call quality issue ?
Please advise if this is hardware issue or software issue.

SonyEricsson HBH-300 bt hf poor sound quailty

Greetings and salutations all.
Here is my problem. I have HBH-300 bluetooth handsfree and the sound quality of this hf is superior (to my taste) to any other I have tried.
This, however is not the case with it connected to TyTN. The sound quality of the earpiece is very poor (like all the f's and s's gets badly distorted). I have tested TyTN with 3 other bt hf:s (Nokias and Jabra) without any problems with the sound quality. The mic quality appears to be the same as with other phones according to the other person of the phone calls.
I've tried modify the registry acording to the idea of enhancing the stereo bt sound quality (tho this is just a mono hf) and tried to lower the value of the bluetooth speaker, but no luck.
So, any idea if there's anything for me to try to be able to use my beloved HBH-300 or is it just the Nokia/Jabra way from now on ?

Speakerphone sound

I have an odd question why is speakerphone on phone calls so crunchy sounding and music so clear? Same speaker isn't it?

Most logical is the radio signal quality (even with 100% signal strength)
i guess
If you check the wiki of the Universal you will find a registry edit that will allow you to edit the properties of the speakerphone. After some trial and error you should be able to find a setting that makes it easier to listen to people with the speakerphone.

Skype Bluetooth Audio Problem

Hi
I have installed skype. Audio comes through the loudspeaker, I have tried to route it to bluetooth earpiece ( jawbone prime) or at least use the front speaker.
Unfortunately no results.
I have tried audiorouter V1.0.1, BTaudio and even fring, no results, audio is still coming through speakerphone.
There an option in Bluetooth-> advanced-> play systems sounds through bluetooth but the sound ( my voice ) is distorted to the person I am calling.
Sounds like my voice has been speed up.
Any resoultion ?
Have the same issue
I have a HTC TP2 w/Plantronics Voyager PRO and the same thing I sound like a chipmunk. Skype was no help. Has Anyone figured it out?
Thanks

I had a similar problem, and have not found a solution, but instead I started using Skype To Go and instead of using Skype's software. it is just a regular phone call. Sound quality is much better, but it has it's limitations. I use skype almost exclusively for outgoing international calls and therefore it works for me. (it also works for me because I have a lot of unused minutes)

Another Microphone Question - Problem only on cell calls

Ok, phone call quality terrible on my wife's 6p. I've done a lot of searching but not much luck here. Weird thing is I have a 6p and quality is fine.
- Voice over data/wifi is great - facebook calls, video, Duo, etc all work great.
- cell call quality over the mic hardware mic is terrible
- Cell quality over bluetooth is great
- my 6p is always fine so not cell provider network issue.
- disabling rear noise cancelling microphone did not help, just worse because background noise is loud.
Any tips or advice to try and fix? Or do you think it's software or hardware related? I'm thinking software if web calling is always great and only 1 of 2 phones has the problem over cell signal.
And yes, I have don't lots of web searching on this... most people seem to just say disable rear mic.

Issue with phone call using headphone and mic

I am having issues with making phone calls when using headphones with mic. I can hear perfectly but the person I am speaking to says the line is terrible with a hissing noise. This is no problem when only using the phone for calls.
I have this problem when I record my own voice with a voice recorder and use the samsung headset mic. I have no problem when I use just the phone's mic to record voice.
I have done some searching and found similar issues for people recording video. I have tried this edit of the build.prop file found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a1/help/to-fix-noise-recording-t3689517 But that has not fixed the problem.
Could someone else please try recording their voice with a headset mic and let me know the outcome.
If anyone has some solutions, I would be grateful.
