Stock ROM X1686 giving error in recovery - Moto G5 Plus Questions & Answers

Can anyone please help me on my Moto G5 plus 4gb 32gb Indian variant. XT1686
I was on Resurction Remix rom and now back to stock POTTER_RETAIL_7.0_NPNS25.137-35-5_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml
But now everytime I flash TWRP, its flashes with signing status failure and boots up back to twrp only (not to rom).
Can anyone please let me know the exact stock firmware link for Indian variant as I want to go back to stock rom.
Also, I have flash the logo from bootloader but phone still shows the bad key logo.
Thanks in advance

How are you flashing back to stock? You should no longer have TWRP on your phone if you are doing it properly, the stock ROM must be flashed with fastboot and will over-write TWRP.
Anything more than that I can't answer unless you give us more details of what was done...

Can you post your bootloader screenshot by which you mean it is corrupt... bad key does not mean the bootloader is corrupt.
Bad key notification is normal, not an error actually
Also check your personal message.

Hong Kong ROMs are for 16 GB devices, your phone might be 32GB.
If that is so, download another region ROM and flash that one.

Would not recommend it, since those firmwares appear to be for US, Amazon or G4 Play devices (amz is for Amazon), so you may end up damaging/bricking your device more than it already is.
Besides, the links I've given you in the other post should enable you to pull the modem files from those firmwares and flash them (though I'd recommend doing a full flash).

Did you try flashing the retail stock ROM from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/stock-rom-npjs25-93-14-4-march-1-t3608138 ? This NPJS25.93-14-18 firmware file is the latest stock ROM for retail EU/UK, Brazil and Indian devices (I'm not sure what other ROMs you've been flashing, I'm hoping flashing the incorrect ROM still means it's fixable...)
Else, you can try this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/solve-moto-g4-plus-one-imei-fp-sensor-t3800410

After flashing the modem, fsg and hw images in step 7, did you re-flash the latest stock ROM? From what I understand, you need to flash the stock ROM over the pushed images to try to re-link your modem/IMEI.
This seems to be one of the issues of downgrading, and perhaps why Motorola doesn't support you if you do downgrade...

What do you mean by 'how bro???' I don't understand what you're asking for in that question.
Hrm, you could have a look at some of the other topics with trying to get the baseband back - maybe you could try to find a India hw, modem and fsg image to try to flash. Here's a topic that's been trying to fix the issue for a while with limited success: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/help/moto-g4-pluss-model-changed-to-g4-lost-t3496912
You can also try these images I've pulled from my XT1642 (UK, EMEA baseband), see if they can let you get your India baseband back after a stock ROM flash: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1vQHJB37RV4Iv83jeO5mymw-UNe9KtRNm No guarantees though - seems that the downgrade to Marshmallow corrupted firmware somewhere?
Other than that, I'm not sure of other methods besides getting your motherboard replaced.
Hurray........ Its worked

Baseband Collection/ Switching Guide

I really think there should be a thread on XDA with tested methods to switch baseband as a lot of people face trouble with GPS etc on custom ROMs. Ideally we should be having a collection of TWRP flashable zips instead of having to install stock firmware via tools like Miflash and then doing everything from the beginning.
This zip from Davideavinavil is TWRP flashable and it works perfectly for me. It doesn't improve things drastically from stock Marshmallow Indian ZUI baseband but would be great for if your GPS is not working or something.
To get the baseband from latest Indian ZUI Nougat Beta follow these instructions from zukfans by Magz Heaven. Tested on my own phone which previously had the above Davideavinavil zip flashed and is now on M8996FAAAANAZM-1.76387.1.92759.1. I wiped everything TWRP then flashed this in fastboot and then went back into recovery and flashed ROM + GApps. If you want to run this in Linux open the bat file as text and use the same fastboot commands with those files in your pwd.
1. Will bootloader be locked again after flashing baseband?
2. Do I have to flash ROM after flashing baseband?
3. Does bluetooth connectivity depend on baseband?
Thx

1. Yes its possible that your bootloader gets locked after flashing. If you do it wrong and doesnt check it after first reboot you can brick your device.
2. No you dont.
3. Someone said when you only flash the NON-HELOS.bin file you can get problems with bluetooth. If its right I dont know.

Thanks for your response. Only reason i asked about bluetooth is because only ONE custom rom works for me bluetooth wise. I'm unable to connect to my cars headunit with any rom except resurrection rom. Would flashing a modem help this? my modem is 9-00026-M8996FAAAANAZM-1.63821.1

Sorry I probably didn't explain that the best. Flashing ROMs doesn't change my baseband but I'm wondering if changing my baseband will fix my Bluetooth problems. Yes RR works with my current baseband and my Bluetooth works with every device I've tried, on flashing to a different ROM none have worked sadly. I've tried to ask around if other people have issues but they all say their BT is working as it should haha

Were there any special steps you had to take for installing recovery? Both TWRP and PBRP are not working for me.
EDIT: I fixed it, but I am a long-time lurker on XDA, so I have no idea ho to remove a post. So let's try to make this useful instead.
If anyone else encounters the same problem, it might be because once the stock ROM boots it replaces the flashed recovery with the stock recovery again.
So if booting into the recovery through fastboot doesn't work, reboot normally and immediately press power + volume down without giving it a chance to boot into the stock rom.
The last part is where I personally got stuck, not knowing that the stock rom would replace the recovery.
I have X01BDA, and official TWRP v3.3.1-0 of X01BD is released on 2nd June, I just wanted to know can I use official TWRP of X01BD on X01BDA?
