Shield TV and apps comatibility? - Shield Android TV Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Yesterday i bought a new Nvidia Shield TV to replace my old Android TV box. It surprised me that almost all the APKs that i used in my old android TV, crashed as soon as i tried to open them in the shield.
They are all apks from south american tv channels that broadcast their live channels on them (i sideloaded them as they are not in the shield tv play store).
Is this normal? Im using the new Shield Experience 6.0 as i got the shield tv yesterday, so i had no chance to test the previous releases. All this apks worked on my Matricom Q Box amlogic android tv box, and i cant make them work in the Shield.
Is it something about the new Shield Experience update? Or the machine itself is not compatible with this small android apps in general?
Thank you!!!

Does HBO Go work on the Shield Android TV

Hi guys, there is a Android TV version of HBO Go. Is it working for You guys that might have it?
I have Zulu's Full Android ROM on my Shield Android TV and normally I can use either Phone apps or Android TV apps, it has full support for the Shield Remote or I can use my Air Mouse.
The problem I have with HBO Go is, first of all, the app does not seem to fit the screen properly even if I force landscape. Second the air mouse or the Shield Remote does not seem to be able to click the menus. Could be I guess because the screen is not fitting properly?
I would like to know if it's a problem with this ROM or if people using the stock ROM have the same issue

Directv Now for Shield and Android TV HELP!

Hi all. I'm new to the forum so please let me know if this is the wrong place for this post. So I have an Nvidia Shield and also just bought a new Sony Xbr75x850e TV with Android TV which I love. I've tried downloading several Directv Now APKs to both and every time I try to open them they stop instantly. Has anyone recently tried this and been successful?

Nvidia shield as Plex server and player at the same time

My current setup is an old WD TV box hard wired to my home network with a WD My cloud (first gen) Nas drive (2tb) with a 5tb USB 3 drive chained to it. The WD TV is in my living room/theater attached to my Enclave wireless surround sound system which feeds my Optoma 1080p short through projector. I just purchased the Plex pass lifetime as it was on sale for $75 and I am going to be adding a Home run and antenna to try and get some local Spanish TV going here in Jardín Colombia.
Does the Shield work well as both a server and player at the same time? It will only be used to stream to one device at a time.
I also am looking at maybe a dedicated Plex server NAS and then buying a Android box, but that seems like a much higher cost then buying the shield if it can server as both the server and player and access my My cloud just fine over cat cable.
Thanks for any guidance!.

any difference between the NVIDIA SHIELD TV Gaming Edition and the NVIDIA Shield TV which is currently on sale at "A" for $139.99?
Don't think I will be doing any gaming... I just want to be able to access my local NAS which is filled with Music, TV and Movies and play them back through the Plex GUI to my theater.

Help or a query regarding Chromecast, Google TV, or Android TV.

I'm about to get a new TV, but I'm not really sure what the differences are between Android TV, Google TV built into the TV, and Chromecast with Google TV. Although I am aware of the differences, is it really relevant?
It will only be used a couple nights a week as a bedroom TV and will run Plex.
Exists a preferred method?

not enough cpu power to play selection

running the latest version of Plex server on my shield pro 2019. This is a new message from my shield. I also cant play live TV from remote clients, But they will play thru the HDMI on the shield
